I have recently come into possession of a number of Jedi. You will help me make proper Sith out of them. So long as you do not kill or maim them, I will let you decide how to proceed. If you do either of those two, I will kill you. I have not decided how, but you will not enjoy it, though I will.

With these Jedi turned into proper Sith, the republic will stand no chance when the war breaks out again. That is how I know that you will serve me. If you will not, then you will explain to the Dark Council why you will not serve the cause of the Empire. They might be merciful. They might even grant you a quick death.

RP facts

This RP is set shortly after the sacking of Coruscant.

It is focused on intrigue and personality-building, not combat.

The RP dates back to before the guildfall, so the IC is long.

No, you do not have to read it all before joining.

We primarily use the IRC for communication, though the OoC sees some activity.

Torture has happened before and will happen again in this RP. Some of it with numerous details.

Characters can and will die occasionally.

The RP is advanced, so if you feel uncomfortable writing more than a few paragraphs, you might find it hard to keep up, but if you wish to take up the challenge, you may.

Most of the posts are collaborative works, and those are naturally longer than most single-user posts.

The GMs (Ellri & Sundered Echo) control a number of NPCs and guide the plot, but otherwise players are free to decide much of what they do, and especially how they go about it.

What are we looking for?

Sith Apprentices, initiates, whatever. Maybe even a Sith lord if you write a sheet that impresses the GMs.
Jedi knights and padawans. Yes, the above only describes a wanted ad for Sith, but its entirely possible for you to join as a jedi. Dual ads would look silly.

No. We’re not looking for bounty hunters or mandalorian warriors, smugglers and other scum like that. We want Force-users and only that.

This would be my first group based advanced RP (normally go with high casual) but I have done several 1X1. I like your guys approach in willing to teach as that is not the norm on the advanced forum from what I've seen. I'm just curious as what threads/lore I'd need to read leading up to my characters capture. The lore I am familiar with are the Classic, New Jedi Order and Legacy Eras

This RP is set in the days of the old republic, some 3650 years before the star wars movies. You do not need to read up on very much to begin with. Reading the article linked above about the sacking of Coruscant will give a rough idea.

The key difference from the later eras is this:
The Jedi order actually has guts. They don't hesitate to kill Sith. Their policy of "the only good Sith is a dead Sith" is pretty apparent.
Marriage or other such relations between Jedi, while not strictly forbidden, is frowned upon.
Many republic citizens do not really appreciate the Jedi these days.
The Sith number in the thousands (probably in the tens of thousands).
The current timing is just at the start of the cold war between the Sith empire and the Republic. The Sith just forced the Republic to sign a treaty that put the republic at a serious disadvantage. Holding the republic capital hostage will make dictating terms pretty easy.
Lots of people on both sides aren't pleased with the treaty. The republic side for the terms, the Sith for ending the war.
Reading up on a bit about the situation in those days can help.

You can always read up on the IC thread, but considering just how massive it is, that'll take a while. While most of the posts there are pretty large, they are also mostly collaborative works written by two-three people over considerable time. The requirements for post length will remain the same as for advanced in general. (decent lingual quality, 3-5 paragraphs).

For Jedi characters, they can also be part of an upcoming strike against the prison ship Hâsk. The Darth in charge of this operation announced out to the empire just what she had acquired recently, so even the stupidest SIS Agents (strategic information service, I.E. the republic's spies) would've been able to get hold of that message and relay it back.

For Sith, the invitation (up top in this thread) is relevant. They would come aboard the ship when it arrives in orbit above Teth.

I have played KOTOR and Sith Lords personally and know the general storyline of the movies and some of the other things that have been made, so I am not completely blind as to how the Sith have changed over time, but I'm sure you guys will tell me what I'm dong wrong if I screw up. I'll get started on a Sith Sheet.

It is a good RP and they do help. I have star wars knowledge in bucketloads but all mine is post-movies.

Currently the Sith are pretty varied. Some are cruel, others not so cruel. Some value politics, others ignore it. Write up a concept, and we can see if it works. We're around in the IRC now, so if you drop by there, we can discuss various concepts you might thing would work for ya.
