'I know I should hurry, but I can't just run through the park. It would wake the homeless up... But I'll be late for the last bus if I don't hurry!' Between those two choices, Kagayaku Kishi chose the one that ultimate would cause the most havoc that year-- He decided to walk to the bus-stop through the darkened park, ready for even the smallest of attacks. Yaku knew of the urban legend that was talked about in this park, about weird disappearances and brutal deaths all said to be done by aliens, demons, vampires and pretty much everything that you can blame them on. Was he scared? Idiots usually don't get scared. Was he wary? Very much so. All the way up until he woke up with no memory other than walking through the park with some classmates and then a strange blinding light. 'ALIENS!?! Was I probed!? Nothing. No sign of being abducted and nothing to worry about besides a missing memory. 'It doesn't LOOK like anything bad happened. Maybe it was just a dream?' Deciding not to worry about it anymore, Yaku got prepared for a short trip back to campus. Preparing a small breakfast he can eat on the way and then grabbing an orb connected to a whitish piece of leather, something he didn't have until this morning, and putting it around his neck like a necklace then heading out, looking foward to starting his day and possibly meeting up with the classmates he had walked home with last night to extract more of what happened from them.

Curtis woke up, not really remembering what had happened the night before. Not any cause for alarm in and of itself, but he couldn't remember drinking the night before. Occasionally, Curtis would drink so much that he would forget about drinking, but he wasn't hungover, so that theory went out the window. He hadn't been on any serious drugs either. But he felt just fine, and he didn't have any marks that weren't already there before. Except for a bracelet. It was simple, just a thick leather band with a polished white stone that must have been glued on, because Curtis didn't see any seams on the bracelet. It was one of those kinds that slipped one and off your wrist, which was all well and good save for a few key details. 1) Curtis could not recall ever owning this bracelet before this morning and 2) it was smaller than his hand was, which made him wonder how it was put on. It was one continuous band of leather, so it wasn't like it could be snapped on and off at will.

It was a dilemma, so he thought back to the night before. He remembered going to Muay Thai. Yes, that was a thing that definitely happened. Then he rolled a joint and smoked it with some of the other guys from his class. That was also a thing which had definitely happened. So far, so good. Then he rolled another joint and went to smoke it in the park. Okay. Yes. Good. This was going well. And then as he walked back towards campus, he ran into a group of people that he knew from classes aaaaaaaaaaand woke up with a mystery bracelet. He had been smoking the same weed for weeks, so he knew it wasn't strong enough to cause him to black out.

And it didn't matter how strong the weed was, it certainly didn't manifest a bracelet. It didn't look bad, and it was actually very pleasant to wear. It had a reassuring weight to it, enough to convince him that he wasn't just making it up in his head. The stone was pleasant to touch, it felt like there was something warm in it. It didn't matter. Weirder shit had almost certainly happened to him before, and he survived that just fine so he didn't see why a bracelet should be such an area of concern. He grabbed himself something quick to eat and walked out of his apartment to get the bus to campus. Maybe he would even run into some of the people he was with last night and they would remember how Curtis had acquired his newest piece of flair.

Kassy woke up with the sun on her face, and her first instinct was to turn into her pillow. It was nice and quiet, and she'd come to relish each moment of silence that the campus provided. She'd had such an odd dream that she would have been perfectly content to lie in bed for the next hour or so.

But then, the subtle weight of a choker around her neck was part of that dream- and yet she wasn't dreaming anymore. She rubbed it with her fingertips as she slowly sat up, stretching her chubby body toward the ceiling. Getting up, she shuffled to the bathroom, noting that her roommate had done her hair and left copper-red strands all over the sink. Again. "...ugh." As she rinsed her roommate's shed hair down the drain, she looked curiously at the choker. It was a white strip of leather with a stone set into it. Definitely lovely, but more fancy than anything she'd ever owned. "...hm." Honestly, she didn't like standing out much, but the point of jewelry was to wear it, right?

After doing the usual morning washup, she caught a look at the clock. "Oh dear, I'll miss breakfast!" She hastily put on a blouse and a long skirt, and hurriedly stuffed her feet into her sandals. Her bag was still packed from the night before, so she headed out, locked up, and rushed away.

When she woke up, Rachel couldn’t remember where she was, let alone what had happened the night before. This wasn’t unusual. Rachel had never been a morning person. Every day began with a good twenty minutes to an hour in a foggy cloud of dazed confusion. What was unusual was that once she dragged herself out of the bed and into the shower, and the grogginess was washed away, the memories didn’t come back. When Rachel thought back to what happened last night, it seemed to cut off with a walk in the park.

There was one other unusual thing, which Rachel didn’t notice until the shower woke her up and she began getting dressed. Around her wrist was a bracelet she had never seen before, gold with what looked like a pearl set in it. The strange thing about the bracelet was that it was perfectly fit to her wrist, with no way of getting it on or off.

”It’s really pretty, but… how did it get there? And what exactly is it? I think I saw a movie once where had a bomb stuck to them like this! What if-

Rachel stopped herself. Her roommate, Sarah, had told her she had a habit of jumping to strange conclusions. In fact, Sarah would probably know what to make of this! Rachel decided she’d ask her for help, but first, it was time to get some breakfast.
