Quinn raised his right hand; a signal for the class to keep quiet. The professor straightened his glasses as an arm sprouted from the back of his head, and grabbed the file case behind him. A pair of hands grew from the extra limb as the attachments began to skillfully open the case, and pulled out a thick pile of paper; bound by a single black clip. The hands dropped the pile on Quinn's regular hands, and as quickly, returned to his body. Quinn surfed through the papers as he separated the papers into different piles.
"For those who just recently arrived... Well, you're all the descendants of gods and goddesses. If you have any questions; just visit me at the faculty room. Nook number 24." Quinn smiled as he looked at the papers. "Dr. Hermit... Dr. Lanyx... Dr. McMillan... Ah, there we go... Mr. Camoride. I should get a doctorate soon." Quinn sighed as he focused on a set of papers.
"Now, the class list. Some of you may be drafted over to the other professors, but if you would want to stay with me, then you can just tell them." Quinn cleared his throat; browsing through the papers. "Are you guys ready?"
Quinn chuckled as he started with the first paper. Quinn had already memorized his students; he just wanted to learn more about them.
"Mason Jessamine, Age 15. Gender, female. Reincarnation of Athena." Quinn smiled as he made himself comfortable on top of the table. "Goddess of strategy, and war tactics. I think Athena won't be disappointed by someone with such potential as you." the teacher grinned as he put the paper down, and got another. "Tell me, Ms. Jessamine, do you fancy reading books often? Athene reincarnates often share a love for books and knowledge." Quinn nodded to her as he put the paper down, and got another.
"Cameron." Quinn raised his brow at the lack of the family name; he had been wondering at this fact ever since he got a hold of his class list. "Age 17. Gender, male. Reincarnation of Hades." Quinn frowned as he looked at the hooded student at the back. "Hades despised Zeus with a passion; he didn't like getting the underworld. Hades' reincarnation often share a melancholic and loner characteristic. However, we do always try to turn these reincarnates to the right direction." Quinn assured the student as he grabbed another paper.
"Delilah." Quinn sighed; another missing family name. "Age 17. Gender, female. Reincarnate of Perses; a famed god of destruction." Quinn rubbed his chin as he used the picture in the paper to search for this Delilah; he then saw her sitting near the back. "In general, reincarnates of destruction gods often exhibit mass inclination to inflicting destruction on the things around them. They may have sadism, pyromania, or intense rages at times. Worry not, Ms. Delilah.. We'll guide you here." Quinn smiled at her as he reached for another paper.
"Victor Carter. Age 17. Gender, male. Descendant of Haephestus." Quinn chuckled. "Interesting. A complex thing with Haephestus' reincarnates are their really shifting moods. They tend to hide emotions deep inside, and mask these feelings with a plastic one. Mr. Carter, I do hope you become open with the class; or me... I can sense a lot of talent from you, and from Haephestus, you might have some interesting powers one day." Quinn smiled as he bumped a paper from the table.
However, the paper fell from the table, but as quickly, an arm spawned from Quinn's hand; grabbing the paper in less than second. Quinn held the paper in his hands as he coughed. "As you can see, I'm quite handy." Quinn chuckled as he read the paper. "Oh my, this isn't a character profile... This is a notice..." Quinn sighed as he read it over.
"May the following students go to Mr. Price's Powers 101 class, next room." Quinn sighed as he looked at the students; he was looking forward to working with them. "I'm sorry I have to do this. I really wanted to work with you guys. Well, fear not. Mr. Price is a very talented educator." Quinn assured them as he read the paper. "Hikari Hasegawa, Yami Hasegawa, Phorus Reid, Musa, Aeden, and Rachelle." Quinn was really reluctant to read the names. These were his kids; not Price's. That lazy bag of bones.
"I'm really sorry... I do hope you forgive me." Quinn said in a sad tone. "Mr. Price is a bit on the tough side... But you'll get used to him." Quinn gritted under his teeth as he sighed in sadness. "Mr. Price will be continuing the orientation on your powers. Just tell him where we stopped, a'right? See ya around, kids." Quinn smiled to them. "But... you're welcome to stay and finish the orientation in my class." Quinn offered as he picked out the profiles of the said names, and pulled them out. "I'll be delivering these to Price soon." Quinn shook his head as he turned to the class.
"Let's continue shall we?" Quinn tried to smile as he pulled out another paper. "Booker Dewitt. Age 18. Gender, male. Reincarnation of Anubis." Quinn spoke as he eyed the student. "Anubis, albeit the god of the underworld, is actually a compassionate god. Reincarnates share a strange attachments to anything related to death; cemeteries, or even urns. They are also distrusting of most, but tend to be very friendly to those they deem worthy. Very judgmental; might I add." Quinn smiled; pulling another paper.
"Chantelle Gray. Age 17. Gender, female. Reincarnation of Peitho. A rare yet complex case." Quinn shrugged his shoulders as he eyed a student who stood out with her exceptional looks. "Must be the magic.." Quinn chuckled; shaking his head. "Reincarnates of Peitho are often seen as seductive; being able to beguile men, or women into falling in love with them, or be their slaves. Whether it's love or lust; depends on how the reincarnate uses her ability." Quinn smiled; nodding to Chantelle. Another hand grabbed a paper as Quinn cleared his throat.
"Melinda Matthews. Age 17. Gender, female. Reincarnation of Hathor. Another rare case." Quinn smiled as he coughed. "Reincarnates of Hathor share a very open personality; although most powers involve element manipulation or empathy. That depends on you now, Ms. Matthews. I believe you can achieve a lot of things." Quinn smiled; grabbing another profile.
"Koda." Quinn shook his head; another freaking lost family name. "Age 16. Gender, male. Reincarnate of Eris. Intriguing." Quinn eyed the black haired lad at the back. "Mischief, and discord. A trait shared by Eris' reincarnates. They tend to hate a boring life, and will try to make things 'fun' at any cost. Worry not, Mr. Koda, I'll try to live to your expectations." Quinn chuckled; grabbing a similar profile.
"Wait... This is Koda. Wait.. no way. This is someone else." Quinn laughed as he face palmed himself. "Kida. Age 16. Gender, female. Reincarnate of Hermes." Quinn smiled. "Another mischievous god. I guess both of you work together. Seeing as how you both came late, and how you both look so much the same. Try to keep your antics to a minimum." Quinn chuckled as he grabbed some more profiles. "If I missed anybody... Please tell me. I have to freaking sort all of these files. Dr. Rabadash is getting old... Not really good with filing that much anymore." Quinn shook his head; sighing in the process.
"Anyway! I've revealed to you... your reincarnation... The god where you came from." Quinn now spoke in a serious tone. "In this class, we'll be having drills, and activities to bring out your powers. Your powers may still be dormant, maybe uncontrollable... You may be even doing them unconsciously... like right now... Ms. Gray, we really need to control your powers... I'm getting some strange vibes from you. Most importantly, we want you to be able to use your powers CONSCIOUSLY. That is why... I will be laying out the flow of our class." Quinn chuckled as a hand popped from his neck; opening a closed chart.
"As you can see... for the first few weeks... Our goal will be to discover your powers. I can only do so much; the rest lies on you. After that, we'll be trying to enable you to use your powers consciously. That is why we'll be having drills such as team building or simulated battle scenarios." Quinn informed them. "Oh, you see this ice cream sticker? Whoever can use his powers most skillfully will be rewarded with ice cream; via me." Quinn chuckled as he cleared his throat. "After those initial training, you will also be submitted to psychological testing. I won't lie to you. We will attack your mind; to see how you would handle situations." the professor shrugged; moving on quickly. "After that, we'll be having a free-for-all... To test your abilities and how far they've grown." Quinn eyed the class; looking for some reactions.
"This is my favorite. After the free-for-all, we'll be going on a field trip to the beach... For you guys to enjoy a little bit of fresh air. Courtesy of me, of course." Quinn laughed. "Then finally, for your final test. I will hostage a civilian, and your job is to rescue that civilian. Which means, you have to fight me. You'll have teams of course, worry not." Quinn smiled as he stretched his arms.
"Reincarnates... I will tell you now. Your journey will not be easy, nor will it be a path of roses. There will be obstacles along the way, but we have something important in us... Hope. Many would say that Hope is the opiate of the frail, but I say otherwise; Hope is a light that pierces darkness; Hope is the only thing that cannot be killed easily." Quinn spoke to them sincerely. "We will be walking on thorns, we will be treading on fire, and we will be facing things that people of your age should never have faced. However, I ask you now... to stand on this path. The gods have almost forsaken our world; has destroyed the hope that the people are clinging on. That is why... our job is to bring back the hope that the gods have forsaken; to reforge what was broken... to allow humanity to rise from the ashes." Quinn smiled. "I assure you now... I will always be at your side if you need me." Quinn nodded to them.
"This is the end of our orientation on Powers 101. My advice to you as your Homeroom Professor? Tread on the path less taken." Quinn nodded to each of them; hoping for his message to sink in. "Should you have any more questions or any clarifications... feel free to ask me after this." Quinn spoke. "A'right, reincarnates? You are all dismissed."
