Neon Genesis Evangelion: Fly Me to the Moon

Essentially, this will cover the events of the original anime. However, there are some crucial differences in the backstory of the universe. Second Impact, of course, has occurred, which resulted in the death of half the human population. Most events are the same as canon. However, Yui was not the one to test Eva-01 due to several scheduling errors, therefore she was not absorbed into the Evangelion. Her later death was due to unrelated circumstances. Gendo and Shinji's relationship is also far better in this version of the universe.

However, there's still the soul of a child's mother in each Evangelion. The Angels are still coming, NERV still is in much the same state as it was in canon, for the most part the universe is the same as it is in canon.

But these changes have led to different children being selected to pilot the Evangelions.

RPers will be playing these pilots, and of course some of NERV's officers and technicians.

A few things I have in mind:
-There are going to be three open pilot spots and four pilot spots in total. I will be claiming Eva-00's pilot for plot purposes.
-Other open spots are NERV personnel, non-pilot students, and just about anything else that could fit into an Eva RP reasonably well to be honest.
-This will be following the same pattern as the series, and I will be judging events in the RP to determine what kind of ending we will be having when it comes to it.
-Tonally I would like this to be similar to the original series, but keep in mind the original series had some comic relief and such as well. Just... less and less as it got towards the end.

Shimakaze Megumi

• Personality: Cynical and sarcastic, Megumi reacts to just about everything with rolled eyes and a deadpan expression. It's not that she doesn't care about the future of the Earth or anything, though; she just feels like she has no real choice, and that her life is dictated by others. She doesn't fight it, even if she makes it clear she's not exactly happy about the whole situation. The one thing that seems to be mostly free from her sarcasm are the Evangelions themselves, which she claims is because they are necessary for the future of mankind... But really is because she's secretly a huge mecha fan (her room is filled with Gunpla models and videos of old super robot shows), and actually thinks they're really cool.

• History: Megumi is just your average teenager living in the post-Second Impact world. There's nothing really special or unique about her, she just simply... Is, really. Her mother died when she was ten years old, and she lives with her father (who is a low ranking NERV employee) and baby brother. She occasionally takes up part-time jobs to help handle the costs of living, but that's about as exciting as her life has really gotten up to this point.

Personality: Rei appears cool and aloof, spending much of her time reading books by herself. However, she is easily confused by emotions, including her own which she does not fully understand. She does not understand how to feel in many situations, and is disconnected socially from those around her, regardless of the situation. She does not speak often and she lacks much care about her own personal space or wellbeing. However, there is a conflict between self-preservation and a lack of value on her own existence, an endless source of confusion for her. She feels that her own existence has no value, and yet there is a faint desire for preservation of self. It is mostly ignored in spite of the endless confusion it causes within Rei. There are many odd occurrences that confuse Rei, including how she finds herself staring at some of her classmates unconsciously, with no grasp of why she is doing so. These feelings and events leave her questioning herself. However, this does not change that she is isolated and unapproachable to many.
History: Rei is a mysterious, enigmatic girl with a connection to NERV, serving as the pilot for Evangelion Unit-00.

There are some noticeable differences in her personality from canon Rei. There is a reason for this, but that's for much later.

• Appearance: Contrary to appearances, there is a penis under all that. Also, not pre-pubescent. Secondary sexual characteristics? What are those?


• Personality: In defiance of all probability, and indeed his own cultivated girlish appearance, Hikaru is enthusiastic. For everything, at least at first. Almost too enthusiastic, to the point where he can easily present a risk to himself or others if it's physical activity. In some cases, this is actually helpful--sports, for instance--but in others (such as tests) it's... more of a distraction than anything else, as he starts out enthused but then ends up bored and distracted in pretty short order. Enthusiasm is all well and good for doing interesting stuff, but drudgery? Nope.


• History: Hikaru's father died during Second Impact, thus causing him to have never known the man. His mother? Somehow, and he has no idea how, she died ten years ago. The result is, that for most of his life, he's been raised by his grandmother, who's a cheerful lady that just so happens to run a clothing store.
  Somehow, she managed to get a Stratocaster for his tenth birthday. You'd think that acquiring one of those things post-Second Impact in Japan would be kind of hard...
