Connor jumped slightly as she spoke, having been unaware that she had woken, and he looked over to her, a mouthful of burger. He chewed and swallowed, giving her a smile, then a shrug, "It taste like meat, onion, lettuce and lots of oil" He said with mild amusement. "Its not that great, but...I can't lie. Its amazing" he said

He shifted on the bed, wiping his hands on his jeans, and watching her for a minute, :if all goes well, you might be able to taste it yourself" He said positively. "If you need to hunt, you should do so. We'll be leaving again tonight. I'll be heading out too, I just have to check a few things"

He crumpled up the wrappers, throwing them in the little trash can, and saying, "I want to make sure no one is following us and that no one can follow us" He said, checking his email, There was nothing new, so he shut his laptop down and packed it up. "If you need any clothes washed, there's coins you can use to do so"

She half smiled at his reassurance, though silently trying to remember what normal taste was like so that she could try and imagine the flavor- but as one would expect, she failed horribly.

She listened to the rest of what e had to say too, because their business was their business..and reamining secret was part of their business. She smiled slightly to herself as he prepared to leave, imagining that they were in some sort of vampiric spy movie. What a ridiculous thought.
"Good luck." she called to him, preparing her clothes from the day before for a good wash.

Going into the bathroom, she looked herself over, deciding that she would need to snag a new outfit again, and some make up products. That tattoo of hers was going to be a dead give away on their mission to remain secret. She also calculated that she would have to constantly be buying new clothes. She would need a varied wardrobe, but at the same time she didn't want to carry so many so as to slow them down. So if she carried two outfits at all times, she would only need to buy a new outfit every other day instead of every day. She would also need to make sure to get a variety of temporary hair dyes....but it's been a long time since she's done any of this business so she wasn't sure how long each dye would last between applications. So today she had to visit a thrift shop again, to grab her other extra outfit, and visit a salon to ask questions, and perhaps grab a snack. She wasn't particularly hungry after last night, but she could take any more risks with her hunger.

She sighed and sat for a moment, trying to imagine what it would be like to be human again...but she had business to do. So, applying generous amounts of sunscreen, and popping a pill, she went out to do her research and shopping. She returned with a spare outfit, turtle neck and jean jacket with a matching pair of jeans. She also came back with a box of red hair dye, a special shampoo that helped quicken the fade-away of temp. hair dye, a tube of cover-up, a fruitbasket, a hamburger, and a small pillow.

She had grabbed some teenage sleaseball who had hit on her while she was out on her shopping spree...and ductaped him to the wall of the woman's bathroom when she was done.

Connor got an email addressed to all hunters in America, stating that there was the appearance of a vampire called "2bit", that they left their victim alive this time, and said victim appeared in the hospital (of the city that connor met elizabeth) with a note of challenge to all hunters.

Currently though, Elizabeth was alone in the hotel room. She tossed the fruitbasket and hamburger (still wrapped of course) onto his bed and sat on the edge of it. It shouldn't be too long before he returned.

Connor looked back, and smiled, "I'll do fine" He said, as he started to head out. He went to a phone store, changing to a new phone and Sim,throwing out his old one. He checked their route that they had came, and checked the inn, asking if anyone had checked in appearing interested in them, before going to the car and heading to an area where he could change the cars plates, taking out different plates from his duffel bag, and changing them, throwing the other plates into his duffel as well.

He went to a internet cafe, where he worked at creating registration papers for the car passed over the new plates, before heading back out. He sat in his car a minute, checking his email, finding himself amused as he read the email. He guess that was Elizabeth's work, and it helped to draw hunters away from them, and the hunt for the medallion would be slightly safer, with hunters dealing with Vampires.

He chuckled, and headed back to the hotel, listening to his music. He parked, heading into the room, going over to the bed, looking to the Fruit basket and Hamburger, "What's this?" He asked, sitting down, looking to her

She looked up as he entered. "it's payment...maybe.." she answered, coming up with a spur of the moment answer for why she had gotten him food. The truth was that she had just thought of him while she was out and about, and felt like buying him something. "You went and got me extra food, So I also got you food."

She would sit there for a bit before getting up and packing her bag with the stuff she had bought for herself. "I already ate," she told him, "so if we need to leave, we can do it whenever."

She thought back to her plans, wondering if she had done a good enough job at it. With any luck, her city would soon be swarmed with interested hunters looking to make a name for themselves by catching the elusive 2bit. She smiled slightly to herself. She hadn't survived for 300 years by being stupid. "I wonder though...you keep checking your laptop for something. Anything interesting I should know about?"

Connor smiled at her, and unwrapped the hamburger, finishing it in a few quick bites, he took the fruitbasket to the car, before returning, "That's a nice gesture" He said, "Hamburgers are the best, although I know I should eat fruit too" He laughed, taking her bags to put them in the car, trying to be a gentleman. "Right, then, lets leave now" he said, heading to the car as she asked why he was checking his laptop.

He shurgged, "I do it a lot, never know when i'll get an important email" He said with amusement, "2bit, seriously? Well, you've done a good job getting other Hunters interested in hunting down a vampire, which will keep both them and the other vampires busy and maybe make our search a little easier" He said, as he got into his car.

He shoved the new, false registration papers in the glove box, taking out a fake ID from his duffel bag to make the name on the registration papers. Photo ID, credit card, even a library card were all put into his wallet with the name 'Jack Saunders' on it. He settled into his seat, buckling his seat belt on and waiting for Elizabeth.

She had followed after him, mildly confused, and got into the car. So he got the news...but apparently thought it was her doing, "I'm not the one that came up with the name." she said quietly, buckling up and looking straight ahead.out the windshield. "and I also don't know your email."

She reached over to the fruitsbasket and picked up an apple, playing with it and turning it around in her hands several times, almost studying its shape and surface. She almost expected him to start yelling at her, or perhaps grow distant once he realizes that she has killed people in the past. After all, it wouldn't be hard for him to figure it out now, right? Would he be so willing to have her help with the search for the medallion? She chances a glance at him before looking down at her feet,. Eventually, she sighed. "You should do some research on 2bit. You'll find she's a well known enigma amongst the higherclassed and elder hunters."

Why did she say that? He'd just ask her questions, since she was 2bit right? She probably wouldn't feel right telling him about it. It was probably best that he do his research on his own again. Her mind wandered into a train of thought while she waited for his reaction.

Connor sighed as he drove. He pondered how he could answer that. He knew that in a 300 year old vampire would have had some hidden secrets. Hell, he had some hidden secrets. The thing was, was he bothered with them? He thought on that. He guessed the question there was could he live with what he had done, and considering he had lived with that the last four years, that didn't need an answer.

He sighed again, before saying, "I know that in 300 years, you would have done things. I understand that. I don't need to know it all. I trust you" he said, shrugging, and snatching the apple out her hand, and bit into it.

"We all do things we don't want to to survive" he said, glancing over at her when he stopped at a light, and giving her a slight smile. "i don't need to know. You want to get the medallion. You want to be human again. You asked about food. That's all I need to know" He said, starting to drive again, heading out of town.

trust

That was such a powerful word to her. To have a human trust her - one that knew more about her than anyone had in a long time- was powerful to her. That didn't stop her from wanting to protest as he took the apple away, and for a split second, she looked at it longingly- before hiding her interest and finding something else to play with...like this quarter she had found.

"you are ...too kind. and not dead at all." she sighed quietly with a slight smile. She was referring of course, to what he had said about dying the day he was attacked by a vampire. She found it sad, that he was so lively still yet he felt like he was just waiting to be snagged by the reaper. she made the quarter spin and balanced it in the middle of her index finger's nail for a second or two, before setting it down.

"My first master...he was killed right after turning me. I slipped away during the scuffle...I was going to return to my family, but by the time I made it home, the sun was coming up...and it burned so much...even just at the edge of it." she paused and looked out the window as the pittering of rain started, it almost seemed to make her feel better. "I thought I had created some great sin and was meant never to see my family again, by god's own hands....so i ended up seeking out the man who killed my master, and I followed him until some older vampire gentleman noticed my activities."

She shrugged, "Things went on from there, and I grew strong enough to make sure the old man died from age instead of whatever else he thought was coming to him."

...

"...sometimes I wonder if he would have been understanding if I had come out when he called for me...."

Connor thought for a moment, "Maybe I just know I have nothing to lose" He said shrugging, "So why not be too kind? I don't have friends, or a family, so there's nothing to lose" He fell silent for a long time. "It's probably a good thing that you didn't return to your family. You wouldn't have been able to resist their blood, not as a newborn." he said softly, turning the windshield wipers on.

He let out a soft sigh, "You didn't create some sort of sin. You were just in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Its not your fault, Elizabeth. Its never been your fault. You aren't like the twihards, where some of them actually go looking for vampires because they are delusional" he bit into the apple, chewing thoughtfully. He sighed again, simply because the world was just cruel. Connor had a choice in what he let happen to himself, Elizabeth didn't.

"Hunters are never an understanding lot, and ones from three hundred years ago? Jeez, without technology I can't even imagine hunting" He said, glancing over to her. He would give her back her life, yes, 300 years later, but he would still do it. He grimaced and said softly, "Whoever killed your master might have used you as bait. I'm going to give you back what you lost, I know its not the same, but you'll have a fresh start" He suddenly laughed, "And then you will be forced to understand technology"

She feigned upsetness at him for even daring to mention her needing to learn technology. She was still pretty sure that she knew enough to get by. She smiled gently at him though, let him say what he wants. It wouldn't hurt to learn a new skill, as long as she had a good teacher. '

"Hunters back then...weren't too different from today's, I would think. They still had their information sources, they still stayed in their own territories unless something big happened, they still respected each others' targets, for the most part....they still walked around at night with stakes and silver weapons." she shrugged, now more sober as she thought of days long since passed. "your internet is useful, but it is still just a faster form of book seeking and messenger birds....and with all of the fiction out there, some of your sources are unreliable." She glances at him, "perhaps it was easier being a hunter back in those times, most of the literature was either fact or play."

Now even further back into her memories...back to the day she was turned, or what she could remember. She could recall the faces of her family, and their general personalities...but other things have begun to blur for her. She couldn't remember the exact birthdays...or which set of siblings had children...but she did remember those footsteps back home to those people. Her body had felt heavy, but she had ignored it in her desperate attempt to get home and into the arms of her mother. Her father would have been livid.

Currently, she leaned against the window and stared at where the side-mirror connected to the rest of the car as her memories took over her full attention. She stayed like that a moment longer before other thoughts snuck in. What if she had returned? Her eyes closed as flashes of what she imagined would have been a horrible and bloody attack stormed through her mind. She could imagine the hunger, remembering what it was like to be unable to resist. She also found herself in a personal conflict inside her head, their blood would have been delicious compared to what was around today- at the same time, she found herself feeling slightly sick for entertaining the thoughts of such an event.

In real life, her eyes were still closed and she was still leaned up against the window. however her mouth was slightly open, revealing her fangs as if she was tempted to bite someone at that moment, and her body curled up slightly (as best as it could in that kind of position) as if she was ill or had a stomach ache.

"Oh, yes, no doubt. There were the men of letters, who fueled the hunters information sources" Connor said, "Some say they still exist, yet I've never come across them. Mostly, I get my jobs from the newspaper. I see something that's strange, and I go and investigate it" He said, "Yes, there are a lot of bogus sources out there, but with todays supernatural orientated novels and such, there's also a lot of true information out there on the net. Most of the time, I use libraries when I can, otherwise, it is the laptop I use" He shrugged

He fell silent when he realised that she was off in a world of her own. Most likely, he thought, thinking about what had happened to her. He gave her that time, respected her need for it. He did glanced over at her when she attempted to curl up. He noted her fangs were extended, but wasn't too worried. He continued to drive, mentally counting the blood packets in his head as he finished off the apple.

"Elizabeth?" He said after a few moments, "Are you okay?"

Hearing her name, her eyes snapped open and she was telelported back to the current time in which she lived. He was asking if she was ok, and after a moment she nodded. "I was just...just having a moment. I am sorry." she stated quietly, She no longer looked like she was about to bite something, but remained semi-curled up. In the midst of her fight with herself, she still hasn't figured out which side of her was stronger. With a bit of a sigh, she again looked out the window. "Before...you had said that if I gave in that I would be lost...I don't intend to falter OR give in...but...if I do..."

She trailed off right there. She didn't particularly want to finish the sentence. There should have been no need to in any case, she was sure that he would claim her as his prey if he ever felt like she couldn't be brought back to as she was now. She sat for a while before feeling like the space between them was probably too heavy.

"We need a new topic."

Connor glanced to her briefly, slowing the car. "You won't give in" He said softly, "But I'll be there if you do" That was all he said, falling silent again. He would do what needed to be done, not that it would need to be. He didn't think she would falter.

"We need a new topic"

He pondered that for a few moments, then shrugged. "Like what? How to bake a perfect cupcake?" He stopped the car, pulling over, and checking the map. He wanted to see if tey could reach the town after the next one before sun up. It would feel as if they were making progress at least. Judging that they could, he started to drive again.

Which was just as well, because no sooner had he pulled away from the side of the road, then a grey blur streaked passed, and Connor cursed, looking up at the sky. A false full moon. An illusion that the moon was full, and he cursed, and sped up the road, pulling over once again, he quickly reached into the back and took out his gun with its silver bullets.

"Werewolf" He said, "False moon. I knew there was going to be one this year, but..." It was a very rare occurrence, and he only knew about it because of ancient, translated notes, and one possibly bogas internet site.

He had a heart stopping moment, recalling the teenage girl back home, and he let out a regretful sigh. He couldn't do anything for her, and most like Merl would put a stop to her.

He got out the car, eyes darting around, seeing the streak of the werewolf. He started to fire.

Elizabeth smiled faintly at his joke, taking the time to stretch a little , now no longer feeling the need to be curled up. She was about to try and start up a real topic when something zipped by and she and connor both knew what it was. What she didn't know was that there was a false full moon thing (mostly because she doesn't hang out with werewolves)

Unbuckling, she watched as he went out and started shooting. If werewolves were turning, that meant that the girl who liked Bessie would have turned tonight too...and Elizabeth had just sent every hunter out there that was interested on a hunt in that city. She felt bad, but she needed to keep herself focused on this moment. She wouldn't be able to do much if Connor managed to get bitten. She needed him to be human.

"Have you ever thought about setting the supernatural..on the supernatural?" she asked, slipping into the driver's seat, getting ready for action if he wanted her help.

Connor kept on firing, doing so whenever he saw the blur, blanking out his mind so he wouldn't think about the teenage girl.He fired quickly, hoping to land a blow, but the wolf was moving fast, trying to close in on him.

Connor used the car as defense, but he was also wary that the werewolf could use that to sneak up on him. He quickly put more bullets in gun, and glanced about, firing again. He glanced over when Elizabeth spoke.

He chuckled and shook hs head, looking out again, "No I haven't thought about that mostly because I've never had anyone supernatural to help me" he said, "But be my guess, lets see who would really when, Wolf or Vampire. Maybe put the whole team edward, team jacob thing to rest" He said with a laugh

"Don't even think about comparing me to that trash," She growled half-playfully at him, getting ready to start running towards the transformed person. Her eyes trained on the moving target. "But...vampire will always win." She smirked, getting used to the creature's speed. She tensed and untensed her muscles, readying herself.

"Tell me when you're done firing that thing."

She was ready, but she needed him to stop shooting with those bullets, after all silver would hurt her too and she couldn't have that happening either.

Connor chuckled, firing off a few more shots, before stopping. He pressed himself against the car, to let her do whatever she was going to do. He loaded his gun once more, just in case. He thought she could do this, but just in case. He looked to her and nodded, "Go" He said.

He stayed against the car, watched and waiting. It was like a crazy trust exercise. Some people just stood behind someone with their eyes closed and caught them. What did he do? Set a vampire loose on a werewolf. He chuckled to himself, more amused then he should be, given the situation. But Connor had faced death many times, and the best thing that he could do was laugh at him in the face.

So that's what he did

At the word 'go' she was off at a running speed, more like jogging for her but who's keeping track?,

Soon though she was caught up with the werewolf and tried to knock them off balance. it didn't work because the werewolf was pretty fast at reacting. It tried to bite her, and she punched it in the face. That slowed it down a bit.

But when she tried to go into fro a tackle, it swiped at her, she dodged and went in for her own strike. it dodged. For a while, they stoof in the middle of the long stretch of highway attacking and dodging. Then the werewolf was off again, but this time in connor's direction. Elizabeth managed to grab it's tail and it sped right around to attack her yet again. She jumped away to lure it way from connor but then ran at it. They played chicken, the werewolf lost, and they got into a hissing, growling, mass of supernatural in a wrestling match.

(woo didn't know how much you wanted me to control the werewolf :3)

Connor watched the fight, ready to help at a moments notice. It didn't seem as if there was much progress going on for Elizabeth, and as they got into wrestling match.

Connor sighed, and tried to take aim at the werewolf, but wasn't able to get a clear shot without hitting Elizabeth.

"Come on, Elizabeth, there's not enough time for you to dilly daddle with a mute" He said uneasily, glancing up at the sky. There was probably a few hours until it would start to lighten . They would be hard pressed to reach the closest town.

He stepped closer, which was probably a bad idea. The wolf was now directed to his presence again, and it pushed away from Elizabeth, to leap at him.
