This is probably the case. I would think the Jägers are fighting a holding action to get evacuees out of the areas where the Holtish are expected to roll through, and winter is coming. Hate to sound like Game of Thrones, but it'll be snowy soon enough, along with the mountains.

Also, I have it in mind to do some more writing on Augstbergen culture. I realized I have a leg up; I've lived in Germany, I've been to Switzerland and all that. I'm going to try to get some of this laid out.

As to heavier military equipment, yeah, that needs to get shaken out as well.

As far as sticking to how "Sweden does things", is that really necessary? I understand the theme of how HeySeuss wants to do things. I've always approached fictional nation RPs as "make it up as you go." I understand that everyone speaks German. I've even included a few "Mits" and "Die"s in the text, but using something that happens to be German, Finnish, Swedish, Russian or Bulgarian should be up to HeySeuss. I would not be opposed to using a Chinese or Australian method of doing something. Just sayin'.

Well, I'm looking at what sort of situation allows us a plausible scenario without metagaming the Augstbergen too much. Mobile warfare had a lot of teething issues, and I think the Augstbergen prewar doctrines should reflect the disastrous results of assumptions that were made in Earth's development of the doctrine.

I don't need to stick with how anyone did it, so much as I'm trying to figure out what makes a better storyline. And I feel that overall, the situation with the initial Holtish attack is going to be something of a disaster for the Principality Armed Forces. They're a green military fighting an experienced one -- the Holtish are bound to hang a few tricks on them.

Whoa, Gunther, sorry it came across that way, but I was not trying to push anything on Seuss, you, or anyone else. I understand, know, and respect that this is his game, his world and all choices related to world building are his to make.

But I will give my opinion, or idea, how I see things. If he takes my opinion and runs with it? Okay. If he doesn't? Okay.

All I was trying to do, was just sharing knowledge I had learned about how Switzerland worked during the war, that I had just researched, since I do not know if Seuss was aware of it. If he hasn't, then there's a few options he can weave into the story, or not, as he desires. If the Austberg deviate, I'm totally alright with it, and welcome it. I'm here for the story, I'm here for the fun, and yes, I am here for the historical inspired accuracy. I am fully aware, and dreading Seuss pulling out something equivalent to a T34, KV1, Panzer IV Ausf. G with the applique armor on us, "ahead of schedule."

Nah, I'm trying to stay on schedule. That stuff was developed as a result of operational experience; the T34, for example, was designed after the Soviets encountered the Japanese in 1939 and learned from that experience.

I know, another, "It's being written" but the thing is, I was having a bit of writer's block and the post got lost and then it got longer than...well, it'll be a substantial one. I might just cut it down to what's happening and write that up.

Not as a replacement. Besides, their situation is about to become 'fluid' (fucked up) so we can always slip another character in, a survivor from another squad or whatever.
