I had a black mage character from a previous FFX RP I participated in... but it was before they changed the site so I think he's lost forever. Damn I hate rewriting CS's, I'll just do what I can right now and try to remember the backstory once I'm home.
Name: Yrios Kalt
Age: 18
Sex: Male
Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Blue
Appearance:Weapon: Any Armor: Does it look like he do armor to you son?
Biography: Yrios was born in Luca. His father Joseth, an introvert man and owner of a modest general store, was the only family he ever had. He spent most of his childhood drawing pictures, reading books and playing with his toys by his dad's side. The other kids would either bully him for being too skinny or ignore him in their games for being too shy, so he'd only go out to play on rare occasions with the few friends he had (mostly when his father asked him to). He had fun the most when he read fantastic books about adventurers and dungeons, Yrios would then draw pictures of them and hang them on his bedroom's walls, and when he ran out of space he'd just keep hanging pictures on top of other pictures. By the time he was 14 there were two inches of paper surrounding his room, even after having cleared the walls once before. He had also become very skilled at drawing, and the learning process could be appreciated if one were to uncover the wall layer after layer.
His father had become increasingly worried about his son's antisocial tendencies, so he conceived a way to make him go out more often. He bought him a sword and signed him up to some sword lessons. Joseth thought that it would be a good way to get his son to meet new people and develop a skill that actually required leaving the house and practicing with others to master it. Yrios was against it as to be expected, but being as obedient as he had always been to his father he just complied. The classes turned out to be as boring as he expected them to be, and although there were plenty other students he didn't get to befriend any of them. He just wasn't cut off for the physical kind of learning, and even though he tried his best his natural clumsiness hindered his progress. Of course he spoke to his dad about it, but he insisted that he just had to keep at it and he'd eventually get better. Yrios didn't feel like investing much effort in something he didn't even like, so he dropped off after two months without telling his father. During he following weeks he just wandered the city whenever he was supposed to be at his lessons. Luca is a big city, so it was easy to avoid the places his father could go and there was always something to see, and the money his father had given him to pay his classes provided entertainment up to some extent.
One day as he wandered he spotted a bookstore. Yrios figured it wouldn't harm to go in and take a peek at some pages, maybe even buy something, so he stepped in and began to examine the books in the shelves. Unfortunately he saw nothing of his taste. In fact, most of the books had very odd names - "Commentaries on the Black Arts by Xarxes", "Channeling of Mana and Related Theories", "Spell-Chanting for Dummies"... - so he approached the clerk behind the counter, who had her nose buried between the pages of a book and asked
"What kind of library is this? I mean, don't you have anything unrelated to magic?" Putting down the book that covered her face the clerk answered
"Well, that's because we only sell magic books here." Yrios didn't expect her to be as pretty as she was. This and the silliness of his question made him speak out of his mind as his heart skipped a beat
"Wowyou'repretty, I likeyoureyesand youhaveprettylipstoo and yourshortredhairmakesyoulook evenprettier whatisyourname? MineisYrios I ammakingafooloutofmyselfamInot?" gasp* The girl closed her book and widened her eyes
giggle* "Not entirely. Tell me Yrios, Have you ever practiced magic before?" "No..." She pressed the tip of her index finger against the book she was reading just a moment ago
"This one is a good start, but... it's no good if you don't find someone to teach you. It's dangerous if you don't know what you're doing." Yrios lowered his eyes
"Oh..." He wasn't even sure he wanted to learn magic to begin with, it just felt nice to talk with this girl.
"Don't worry, I could teach you for a price." Yrios raised his head with a slight grin. The girl smiled back and held out her hand
"I'm Lenore, you have pretty eyes too." ....
It's been four years since Yrios met Lenore, and two months since he ran away from home. The unfortunate event that forced him to become a runaway still eclipses his mind on restless nights. Now he makes a living out of the pictures he draws. Without a place to call home he roams the land in search of something to strive for.
Personality: Despite his pessimistic point of view Yrios manages to maintain an cheerful, joking attitude. He still has some of the shyness he had during his childhood, and keeps his opinions to himself most of the time, being a heavy thinker when alone. He avoids problems and tries to solve conflicts through dialogue first thing and has honesty attacks when talking with girls he finds attractive, saying whatever comes to his mind first.
Are you arriving in Besaid or living there?: I think that segment is over. He's at the ship.
