Here's hoping that this character works.
(Can't draw, don't want to ask, so I'm using another picture.)
Name: Derrick Richards
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Hometown: Born in Canalave City (Sinnoh), raised in Pastoria City (Sinnoh)
How would you describe yourself?: A little boring I guess. Like any other person, I talk and socialize with others, though I definitely prefer my peace and quiet. People have told me that I'm surprisingly friendly despite looking like someone that you'd want to avoid, which is a shame because I like helping people out and being told I look like I belong in Team Rocket or something doesn't help that. Most cases I'd prefer to do some work or train with others; I'm not very good with sitting down and relaxing when I could be helping others out. People have also told me though that I need to man up a little, since my modesty and passive nature often conflict with the fact that I'm 6'3 and always scowling. It's unintentional, I promise.
Why do you want to be a ranger?: The short answer, because of my family. Me and my siblings have been surrounded by Pokemon left and right, due to my mom being a former ranger and my dad a former cop. When the three of us set out for our adventure, I got to spend sometime helping out the local police in each of the cities and towns I visited, while my older sister and brother set out to become notable trainers and coordinators, respectively. Me personally, while the travel was great and the idea behind proving myself as the best trainer in a battle or the best coordinator in a contest sounds gratifying, the stability of the job and the fact that I get the same recognition that my parents got in a position of authority was something special to me. Why I chose to become a ranger, however, is more because everyone agreed that I was better suited for the Ranger missions than some of the hard core jobs done as a part of the police force. It doesn't matter to me, personally.
Do you want to Help, Hurt, or Hunt?: Preferably, Help. I won't object to doing Hurt or Hunt missions.
Do you have any Special Skills?: People have told me that I have a bad habit of staying calm when everything is going south, so I guess I'm really good at acting under situational pressure. Personally though? I like to label myself as a walking encyclopedia for Steel Type Pokemon. Inversely, I'm not very good at handling other types as well, especially Fairy Types; they're too... I don't know, I just can't explain it...
What is your Favorite Type of Pokemon and why? Steel Types. My first Pokemon was a Riolu – granted, it's a fighting type – and all the Pokemon I've used in my travels had wound up with a Steel Type listing, so I was always used to them. On top of that, they're strong defensively and when paired up with the right typing they can become powerhouses offensively (Metagross and Skarmory, for example). In contrast, this has made me a tad bit unknowledgeable about other types of Pokemon.
Anything else we need to know about you?: I have low patience for people who are arrogant, haughty, rude or all three. I understand that you think you're the best, but that's an opinion that should be mentioned when necessary, not all the time.
