In Star Trek there are three levels of shielding. You have the combat shields, the anti-personnel and atmospheric force fields and structural integrity fields that help hold the ship together and prevent explosive decompression chains. That is, in addition, to the empty vacuum that they keep between the decks.

+WrongEndofTheRainbow: (Oohhhhh, I just got your username. Heh. Clever.). I still need more convincing about point 3. How do you justify your crew even being diplomatic towards these other obviously inferior races (I think that's how the Combine view aliens, anyway)? Also, please don't have an Advisor on board. I didn't notice one, but I'm just saying.

No, no advisors. I'm running on an alternate version where no Freeman saved the humans, meaning they have Humans as part of their empire now. Thus, instead of Advisors handling the administration work of the next invasion, it's the humans. As for the diplomacy, I'm already planning to make references to how 'unevolved and inferior' the others are at every turn, and only grudgingly accept their help.

Don't be expecting no hope from Lorne then. You treat a military man from a war like that and I'll just leave you behind. 'specially when you got nothing to offer as I doubt you will go about mentioning how you have transfimensional tech.... it just isn't working right now.

I'm basically planning on playing my guys as Space Jehova's Whitness'

"Good day, sir, would you like to hear about our lord and savior Deus Mechanicus?"

Essentially, they see the humans amongst the group as being misguided, because they come from planets that The Emperors holy light hasn't touched. So, they plan to introduce the other humans to the cult and put their heads on straight, I mean, you can't blame people for not worshipping his holy might when they have never heard of him, after all, When His Holiness first touched down on Fenris, nobody there had heard of him, same with Macragge.

Don't worry, Assallya, with any luck, your Feddies will be burning that heretical, Xenos, so-called captain of yours in no time. Then building shrines to the Machine Spirit inside your vessel.

Well, if you do that I can see us not working out. People in BSG aren't typically the most religious.

Ain't no corpse worship gonna happen on the Tor-Selim...

We've got manifest gods already. Sajuuk for the traditionalists, Karan S'jet the Sajuuk-Khar for the more modernist folks, and good old fashioned atheism for the rest. On the other hand, people are quite welcome to sign up to the worship of Sajuuk, Whose Hand Shapes What Is. Its a pretty simple religion really, you just have to believe that Sajuuk made everything and that all the events are going perfectly along with his plan.

It's pretty relaxed, all the extremists in the Hiigaran race got killed and driven out of society a long time ago. Kharaks equivilant of the dark age ended (very quickly) with Kiith Sidiim and Kiith Gaalsien, the religious fanatics, being wiped out by the technologically far superior Kiith Nabaal armies.

They're still around though. Nabaal basically just went. "Look you assholes, behave."

Also don't you forget the good old Taiidani Emperor. Be interesting when you mention how your idol killed the Emperor what the W40k guys do.

Not to mention the main reason people worship Sajuuk more is the fact that they actually see the ship flying around, though I personally think that would make people disbelieve as you then know it is just a ship. Unless the ship was named for its captain. Plot twist.

Because if they did then the Chaos gods would now be free from The Warp and would set about unmaking existance. So, the fact that they are all still alive proves that the Emperor isn't dead, plus... Seriously? Terra's defenses are absolute, blood hasn't been shed on the planet since the Horus Heresy, no fleet has got anywhere near the Holy Mother since that time, I don't think a fleet even can, due to the Emperors powers pushing any attempted raiding fleet off course.

How do you know that this hasn't happened? I mean a Chaos God or whatever did a serious number on your ship. This is a carrier you don't know what Echos people are capable off in battle capable vessels.

Because Matt Ward won't let it fall... In all seriousness, though, do you know how many Humans there are capable of going toe to toe with Greater Daemons? Ciaphus Cain killed a Daemon Prince of Slaanesh, Kaldor Drago beat the shit out of a Daemon Prince Primarch, Njal Stormcaller turned a Great Daemon into meat-confetti using only his mind, plus, there's evidence to suggest that the Alpha Legions are in fact a sleeper cell, ready to turn on the Chaos Gods when they are at their most vulnerable.

+Name+
Captain Alex Revarno
+Role+
Commander
+Description+
Captain Alex Revarno is a moderately sized, aged man who stands at around 6 feet. He has short cut, grayish blond hair and two grey-blue eyes. He looks older for his age, possibly from PTSD, but is fairly fit and muscular by military standards. He wears the standard dark grey officers uniform with an assortment of ribbons on his chest depicting the campaigns he served in. On his lower shoulder, an old red piece of cloth is neatly wrapped and tied around his bicep, a memento from the war. He typically carries the standard magnum side-arm and can be usually found smoking cigars while off duty.

Captain Revarno is a veteran of the Human-Covenant War. He originally commanded a Paris-Class Frigate, but as transferred to command the new refitted Thantos Class Assault Ships that were set to replace the older Midloathian Class Destroyers. He has the good qualities of a captain, being a calm, level-headed person who thinks both creatively and logically. He cares for his crew and sees them all as comrades. Despite only being 48, he is often treated like a beloved grandfather by the crew of the ship and rarely receives any animosity. Ideological or radical views are often disregarded by Revarno. He remembers when the UNSC had originally been dealing with militant communist insurgents, but when humanity's very existence was threatened by the Covenant, everyone put aside their differences. Thus this experience has humbled the man, and never lets personal beliefs effect his judgement.

+Name+
First Lieutenant Katherine Harrison
+Role+
Second in Command "Number 2"
+Description+
Stands at around 5'10, has short cut dark brown hair and green eyes.

Was transferred with Captain Revarno to the Everest, has been his second in command since the Battle of Earth.

+Name+
Thanva Kalios Avani
+Role+
Sangheli Exchange Officer, second in command of ground operations.
+Description+
Stands at around 6'10

When the Human-Covenant War ended, the Sangheli had developed an alliance with the UNSC. As a way to solidify the relationship, an officer exchange program was set up. Avani was stationed on the Everest as a result of this. He has fought in various joint campaigns on earth and generally regards humans as an interesting, dynamic race of creatures that seem to be very resourceful when backed into a corner.

+Name+
Petty Officer Howard Aval
+Role+
Leader of Echo Squad, head of ground operations
+Description+
Standing at around 6'5 he is the typical image of the Spartans. Strong, tall, muscular, and frankly scary are commonly used to describe him.

Howard is a no nonsense man and is typically very hard but fair on his comrades. He is surprisingly knowledgeable about more than just combat. His favorite past time, in fact, is reading books on philosophy and other more liberal arts. He is a seasoned veteran from operations going on at Requiem and was put in charge of this new specialized squad. The main use of Echo Squad is breaching and boarding enemy ships whether it be for capture, sabotage, or extraction. Their armor reflects this role with its improved EVA capabilities(such as a built in thruster system) as well as the unique high visibility helmet. Naturally because of his squad's role, Howard is also very knowledgeable of both UNSC and Covenant ships.
