Jaquel nods, and a mask of black steel forms over his face, depicting an almost demonic appearance. He flips out his coat, and the outside is once more, black, with the red blood drop that symbolizes Kami. He gestures, and two machine-fed pistols form in his hands, as he stands at the ready, looking every bit the super villain. The mas even distorts his voice, making it sound like it has an echo. "Well then. I believe it is time we found Abbadon. He cannot be hard to find. No matter where he is, he has surely drawn as much attention as we have. Superbeings always do."
With a flash, he moved through the streets, the houses a blur around him. He stops as he arrives at the scene of the crime, an entire area of the city riped to pieces, corpses and wreckage everywhere. "Good God. It looks like this new guy doesn't do subtle."
"It's a warzone. The Power Police are doing everything they can, but we know they can't hold this new meta. No doubt it came from the portals. We simply haven't been paying enough attention to them, or what might lie beyoned them."
"No worries, metaljaw. I'm just hoping it isn't Cthulu." With that, he sets off again, communication made impossible by the sheer speed at which he was moving. Within seconds he could see the heavily armored Power Police going up against the gas masked individual. In half a second, he was next to him, punching the guy to the ground. As whoever it whas disappeared, he was hit by something, and went lying, shouting. "Aagh! You sure don't like surprises, do you?" As an answer, the stranger used more bullets, even a speeding car, but this time he was prepared. Moving aside at supersonic speeds, dodging the projectiles which appeared from thin air, he got to the stranger, and beats him to the ground. "And once more, Captain Awesome saves the day!"
"You really should have waited for backup. If he'd hit you one more time, your suit wouldn't have held."
"Ain't nobody got time for that. Man, I could take him. He ain't that tough. I do think I broke a rib, though."
"Get back to base, you moron, and we'll get you fixed up. One of these days, you're going to kill yourself." With that piece of advise, Captain Aweseome, leader of Team Aweseome, left for the Awesome-Tower. He'd named them all himself of course, to the many groans of his team mates. But it was all in good fun. Another evil plot defeated, some evil monster screwed over, and the city was safe again. In fact, Captain Awesome felt absolutely confident nothing would ever cause this much destruction for years to come, now that they'd put a watch on the portals.
5.000 Death Priests marched through the city, standing before Kami's citadel. The Citadel of Gods. Each sang her name in praise, as the global anthem was recited. This was being broadcasted live throughout the world, and Kami stood on the balcony in her most magnificent dress, woven from gold thread and inlaid with enough jewels to buy Brittain. It shone like a star, but, Kami mused, it was heavy as f*ck. After giving her blessing, she was glad to take it off, and checked to see if her legs hadn't broken. Who knew preparing an invasion would be so much trouble? And Appolyon wasn't being much help, either. She'd expected a reply far sooner, but he was contemplating, which he wasn't supposed to do at all. Kami was briefly amused by the idea of Appolyon's brain overheating and catching fire.
"Alice, dear, get me a cup of coffee, you know what I like." The maid nodded, as she went to get the required coffee, leaving Kami in her room. So many assassination attempts. She'd expected it, of course, but for a month now, she'd been checking everything she touched for poisoned needles. She'd of course given away all her official power after the original takeover, giving it back to puppet governments, as proof of her sentiment of simply binding the world together. But there were always people who were unhappy with her choices. Luckily, most of them worked for her now, and the amount of Metas sent after her gave her a great array of Death Priests. But she so missed Wiper, and her telepathic communication wasn't working in between dimensions. But soon..... Yes, soon the world beyond the portal would be hers. In one fell swoop, she'd strike down at that world, and they would cower down in fear.
