"Think it's rotten food?" she asked him as they walked into the cafeteria holding a hand over her mouth and nose before she walked in and looked to him as he took a step closer before she took note of the fresh red colour on the floor. She stepped forward a little to investigate what it was but backing up she nearly fell into him "It-it's a human brain" she said rather horrified. "We're getting out of here now" she said to him quickly and grab bed his hand with her free one before making sure they both got out quickly and looked to him. "That kid that mother brought he was missing something, you said he was brain dead or something I think… that might be his…brain…" she said panting and rather horrified by what she'd seen. That was not something she'd expected or anything anyone would expect.

"Ah shit! Don't have to tell me twice!" Dennis followed Roseia back to the front of the school. When they got to the front doors, he tried to pry them open....only to realize that they were sealed shut. Seriously? They were locked in? "Look, we're stuck here for the moment....don't tell me that kid was actually freaking brain dead!"

A loud bang drew their attention away from the entrance, and Dennis pointed his gun with reflex...only to freeze up at the sight he saw. A small girl. Had to be third grade or something. She had pale white skin and pitch black eyes. Her hair seemed to be dripping red, as if blood was leaking out. From a closer look at it...a gaping hole was seen wise open on the side of her head.

"Oh, that's just gross!"

Roseia looked rather panicked for a change and looked to him seeing the girl and watched around them as well, Roseia tok a deep breath to clam herself down and nodded "Yeah, I think so" she said to him watching the girl very closely "I don't think she's a live, we need to get out of here and fast, a window, if we can smash one open and get outside… I have a feeling we'll be safe" she whispered to him watching carefully still not taking her eyes of the girl before them. She listened carefully around them having been a little spooked by everything "How come we didn't hear her footsteps?" she muttered to herself thinking but all the while alert as ever. "Don't shoot, watch her closely" she said to him. "Don't take your eyes off of her… I don't know what she is but… something isn't right here, we need to find a window fast to get out of here, one that we can smash open"

"R-Right. Yeah sure, I got it-ahh! What the hell!" Dennis jumped backwards as the pale girl was standing a mere few inches away from his face. One moment she was way over there in the distance, and the next she was....all he did was blink! Fear controlling him, he whipped out his gun and began shooting off shot after shot at the little girl only to freeze up and realize what he was doing. "Shit! Roseia, I'm sorry but I just...wait, w-what?"

The bullets had gone right through the girl's body and she turned her soulless eyes to stare right back at him. Moving her mouth, a dribble of blood and drool seeped out and splattered on the ground. Her eyes were leaking the black oily liquid everywhere, and she reached out a pale hand and grabbed Roseia's shirt. Her grip was cold and tight, but brittle to the touch. Almost like bone.

"Mommy...? Is that you? Play with me Mommy....why don't you...."

Its voice was horrific. Something straight from a demon. A little girl's shrill tone coupled and laced with a dry whisper and a haunting echo. "Ok, we're leaving right now!" Dennis yanked his partner's wrist and immediately bolted in the opposite direction of the girl. He didn't have time to look back, nor did he want to. Just keep running as fast as he could.

Little did he know that the little girl was staring right after their fleeing forms as both black and crimson liquid pooled together by her feet and reeked of dead flesh.

"Mommy....? Is Daddy hurting you again?"

Roseia froze almost when the girl appeared and gripped her shirt she as scared and was glad when Dennis pulled her wrist and began to run with him "Window in the next room, we need to get out of here" she said to him panicked and looked behind them noticing the pools reeking of dead flesh and began to run faster pointing out the room and closing the door before she looked to the window and tried to unlock it "Can you smash it open Dennis?" she asked him clearly quite scared at the moment, she hadn't been expecting this at all, it was a completely different level from the last ghosts they'd dealt with.

When they managed to smash the window she hurried outside with him she was panting and looked to Dennis "Y-you ok?" she asked him "Also can I stay at yours tonight, I think that might've freaked me out a little" she said to her assistant a little sheepishly although it really had frightened her. "Let's just get away for now ok?" she said to him.

Dennis was a panting mess, having had the crap scared out of him for far too many times today. "Y-Yeah, sure...let's just go...back...what are those?" He was pointing to several ghost like hands that seemed to be sprouting out of the ground at an alarming rate. Soon, hands revealed bodes, pale white and female. Nearly exact identicals to the one that had just encountered. Black and red streams of liquid leaked out of them all as they shuffled forwards towards the two with arms outstretched.

"Brother, is that you?"

"Come play with me brother!"

"Mommy, get away from the bad man!"

"Daddy, stop it!"

She turned rather quickly and quickly moved away "Dennis, you have the car keys right? If so get to the car and get it started I'll be right behind you" she said watching the hands closely and avoiding them at all costs rather spooked out, once they were both in the car she told him to drive quickly. Back at the office Roseia wrote down all that had happened, that had really spooked her, so made sure Dennis was there with her still so she could go back to his after. She picked up her sleepover bag as she called it having it stored in the office "Shall we head to yours then, although I doubt I'll be able to sleep having some company is nice after such a…. not traumatic but freaky experience" she sighed and looked to her assistant waiting for a response even if it was just the normal nod.

"I...think it would be best if we stayed in the office for now." Truth be told, he didn't want to go anywhere with any sort of suspicious activity, and the office was the safest and most normal route to achieving that. After all, what ghost child would be caught near a work space? Besides, the place was familiar enough as is. Therefore, Dennis did the usual and made a makeshift bed right on the couch.

"Alright, I'll ask first. Any clues what all that was earlier cause I don't know and I'm debating if I wanna know. Any ideas Roseia? You're the detective here..."

Roseia nodded and made a bed on the second couch and sat down on it "Apart from the brain which I do think is from that women's child I noticed a science room which had jars of body parts varying sizes so I think that's a clue" she said to him "But I'm not exactly willing to get back there also I think the reason to this lies in that ghosts past clearly her father hurt her mother a lot from the screams and mistook us for the parents." she sighed and shivered a little "and the hole in her head as well…. I think that place was a house before it was a school just from the structure of it" she said to him still trying to calm herself down a little.

Dennis narrowed his eyes at the dark implications his partner was making. "That may be true...but I think it goes further then that. Remember, that place was an elementary school. It's pretty run down already, so I think we can rule out the chance of it being something else before hand. That means that the kid had some parent issues at home, just bringing them with her to the school."

Leaning back, the assistant detective frowned in thought. "Come to think of it....maybe the ghost kid is what's causing everything after all. That would explain why one of them kept saying the same thing. I mean, they can't all have messed up parents, right? Regardless, I think we need to focus this case on the present now." Dennis looked up to meet Roseia's gaze, his bespectacled eyes dead serious.

"We need to find and contact any living relatives of that first girl we saw. Maybe even our client's kid too."

Roseia listened "Yeah, that would be a good idea but she's a little girl and we don't even know her name, wait a second any idea how long that school would've been closed down from, what was the name of the school as well, if we search through news stories bound to be something on a missing girl or even if her body was found there or a murder or something" she said to him thinking carefully about what was going on. She soon just settled down on the other couch and looked to him. "But the past can have clues as well as the present in this case we're dealing with something that is from the past as well but it's acting in the present"

Settling down she soon drifted off a little and said goodnight to her assistant before going to sleep. She slept fairly well although woke up early morning and looked to him a moment trying to figure out whether he was awake or not before getting up and going to the small kitchen preparing a coffee for herself and him fi he was up.

"I'm awake you know," Dennis grumbled as he sat up. On top of being an insomniac, he found it quite unbelievable that his partner was able to get any sleep after what happened yesterday night. Muttering to himself, he walked over to the kitchen to get himself some coffee as well. "By the way, I found some files last night while you were asleep." Waving some papers in front of her, he handed Roseia black and white copies of internet records.

"Apparently the school is called "New Rosemary Elementary; it was established in the late eighties. Anyway, I think the ghost we're dealing with isn't any adult or even the original killer. Looking at the girl's backstory...I think she's the cause of all this. Her father was the man who originally opened the school to the public."

Rosiea looked to him and smiled a little before looking at the research as he spoke to her. "This case just gets worse and worse" she sighed and read through everything "then if she's not the original killer who is because otherwise…" pausing and looked to him "What if she's a warning… what if the real killer is her father's ghost or the ghost of someone she knows?" she suggested to him rather worried and shook her head "We need to find everything like you said and check up on previous cases similar to this if possible" she said thinking. "I don't think that boy is the first so let's have a look around for information on any similar cases ok? Police station might be good, we can ask there"

Dennis nodded to his partner's observations. "Actually, it makes sense that the real culprit to be the father. If these reports are accurate...he murdered is wife shortly after opening up the school. Before authorities could detain him, he went on a wild spree and murdered twenty kids including his daughter before taking his own life in the cafeteria...this guy was a freaking nutjob!"

Leading Roseia outside to the car, Dennis drove them to the nearest police station. "Great...it's still raining...anyway, the girl's name was Emily Rose. Her father was Alexander Rose....Rose and Roesia...any connection? That would explain why she thought you were her mother."

"Rose.. Rose, any idea what the mother's name was Dennis, there was a Rose family connected to mine, but my last name isn't Rose as you know Dennis" she said thinking to herself a little… "Wait was the mother's name Mary Rose…if so then I have a connection, she was my great, great, great aunt I think. Strangely enough she went missing as well as her daughter who was named Emily. What about you though?" she asked him. "Any connections to you at all?" she asked him curiously.

"Yeah...yeah, it looks like you're right," Dennis said. "The mother was named Mary Rose. Apparently it was tradition to name the children after flowers, and I guess Rose was the best to go with at the given time. As for me, I can't say. There's no record of any significant male in the family, other than papa dearest. And we all know how he turned out."

Reaching the police station, Dennis swiftly exited the car and took the leisure to open Roseia's door for her. "So wait...you're related to ghosts now...aw geez, this is getting more complicated with each freaking case we take!"

Roseia looked to him "They were alive you know Dennis" she said bluntly before they pulled up at the police station. "and it's not complicated I don't even remember them, I have no personal connections at all" her voice seemed to turn sour whenever it came to family matters. They really did disapprove of her business most of the time or at least they did now and they weren't keen on Dennis either saying it was disgusting that she spent so much time with a single man.

"Hey there" she said walking into the police station "We're here to look at some records, I called ahead" she said another officer came out "You again, I should've known, come on I found a few things that might interest you" he sighed and lead them to the back room and presented them with old files. "Thanks" she said and looked through them. There were a few about murders in that school and then further back was about the disappearance of Mary and Emily Rose.

Dennis narrowed his eyes as he took a closer look at the files at hand. "Mary and Emily Rose then.....looks like Mary was the mother. According to this, on October 13th 1957, Mary Rose walked her daughter Emily to the school and dropped her off at the front...hmm, it says here that Emily never met her mother in the afternoon, so Mary went inside the school to get her. None of them ever returned, though it's speculated that the father killed them both before taking his own life in the cafeteria."

The assistant detective glanced over to his partner. "Roseia, does the rest of your family know about all this? Maybe if we investigate your family tree, we might find some more clues here."

[Soul Hunter]

"That sounds logical I would go check it out but… I really don't feel like heading back there" she said and looked through everything finding ally he evidence as well. "Seems like there is no other answer. and from the way these have been carried out but they were never seen again, no bodies were recovered" she said looking to him "Meaning, they were murdered either there and then or locked away and tortured that would explain the messed up things happening with these children, none of them are dead yet and well that one we saw… they might be able to reinsert his brain and connect it again maybe, I don't know but he's still alive somehow wait… notice that hole in the girls head… what if… that little girl is keeping that boy alive. We best figure this out quickly creepy as that girl is maybe we can talk to her" she said to Dennis hoping he'd see what she was trying to say.

Dennis widened his eyes at what Roseia was proposing they do. "You're not...please don't tell me you're actually considering going back out there and try to talk to the spirit? You know, the creepy one that tried to kill us last time? That one?" Shifting his glasses forward in thought, he didn't need to hear her answer to know what she would say. Once Roseia had her mind on something, it would be impossible to derail her from that goal. "Alright fine. But at least tell me why looking at your family tree is a bad idea. Wouldn't that make things a hell of a lot easier?"
