I personally know, I am no where near skilled enough to be the head of an RP, but seeing as anyone who could possibly lead this Role Play is busy playing the game as we speak. That being my theory as to why this is the first Watch_Dogs Interest Check and or Role Play. I've been following, not necessarily the story but the layout of the game's environment and abilities, all of which I think could be made into a moderately enjoyable Role Play. It wouldn't necessarily be modeled after the story itself, but of a few people in the Windy City, or hell any other city in the States that has ctOS running through its veins. If anything this is merely an interest check, if it gets enough hits we could discuss stuff on an actual OOC thread; That is if we get a GM.

Well what matters most is that someone else is at least interested.

Well, first step is for someone to come up with a plot or premise.

How about the players are members of a vigilante/hacking group trying to make the city a better place and possibly defending innocents.

The title could be "CT of Angels" and the vigilantes could call themselves "Boot Sector" or something.

LA? I like it, bunch of people and a ton of traffic....anyway, please explain the 'Boot Sector' name, I don't see its meaning or suggestion.

The thread name I like... but I must admit I'm not fond of "Boot Sector" either. The Boot Sector is a traditional place for viruses and hacking to be installed on all manner of devices. It's also the foundation for computing.

Take "Dead_Sec" for example. It's simply short for "Dead Sector" which is when you have a corrupt and unrepairable section of your hard disk. The operating system works around that spot from then on. There's really nothing to the name that indicates hackers, hacking or vigilantism.

Oh yes, your knowledge would be most helpful but it'd be great if you kept any major spoilers out of sight. Okay?

Possible names for a Vigilante organization:

--Daemons (A computer Daemon is a program that waits until called upon by a system event. Relevant because this is what the vigilantes do, wait for a crime and then act to stop it)
--System Crash or Sys_Crash
--Nethacks
--Roguelikes (*giggles*)

Maybe Detroit with the ctOS installed a year ago. The crime rate has decreased and all of the old and trashed buildings turn into brand new ones, parks, etc.

Detroit sounds pretty cool...I like it...but I don't like the idea of it being shiny...

Hmmm.... maybe a new group of "Fixers" (Horrible name that... Fixers aren't hackers. A Fixer finds things for other criminals) has come to town and is causing trouble. Who are they? Why are they setting up shop in this particular city? Can the Daemons find them and dismantle their operations before the city falls apart?

Or we could drop in an organization I came up with known as SEG_FAULT, which is computer speak for a program that tries to access or write over memory it shouldn't ever try to use.

The group are hackers for hire that erase and alter the ctOS system to change criminal records, prediction software and the like for whoever is the highest bidder, impeding vigilante efforts and police operations alike.

oooh
I like it ouo an actual challenge probably both hacking wise and gun fight wise! But we'll still need organised crime to play a role too.
