So sorry for the long wait - I was in the midst of a vacation and am finally back. :)

As for the story - I believe there was intended some sort of enforced contact between the pair, so that Wren is driven to help Chall with his journey. I am just interested in getting them to the pond and seeing what happens from there. Is there anything you'd like to see? more/less/etc.

Yeah, I'm thinking either the spell at the lake goes awry, maybe because it is interrupted by some locals, or perhaps on the way back to the house/fields, Chall does his lay line spell, and that's the one that backfires. Either slip up would latch him to Wren, though maybe not noticeably at first. It all depends on how the feel goes in the post around then.

I like how things are going, and I don't have any real requests as of yet. *Grin* I'm good, just hoping you're having as much fun as I am. And don't worry about the lag between posts. RL takes precedent after all!

I'm enjoying the "lack of interest" on both their parts. They are strangers meeting, Wren is aiding in a slight way and Chall is intent on getting back on the road (though is younger and far more involved in figuring out his host - a momentary diversion) and neither is thinking this could be more than a quick stop along Chall's journey.

Wren is coming off cold and I think if I spend too much time in his head, he will do just that so don't let his thoughts make it seem like he's making all of these faces and being all dark and broody. I suppose he's far more reticent and naturally very like anyone else of the country might be, though much, much less in awe of Chall than his neighbors would be in his place.

Hey, I'm wondering, which do you think would be better; having the spell at the lake backfire, or having him perform the lay-line spell on the way back to Wren's house. I'm getting the odd sensation that Wren wants him to leave right away after the healing spell, but I also vaguely recall Wren telling him he could stay until he's completely healed, which will take another day. So, yeah, it's up to Wren. If he really expects Chall to leave after the lake spell, it's have to be that spell, and if he doesn't mind Chall coming back with him, the lay-line spell would make more sense :P

I really have no druthers. Whichever seems most story fitting when you get to writing it out is probably the best one. If I were the one to make the decision (I'm not) then I'd do a bit of Eenie Meenie and if the forced choice feels wrong, then go with the other.

I do think that no matter what, the story will happen and if Wren chooses to be impossible, we'll corral him somehow. ;)

I love how Wren's assumptions are so off base. He is coming around slowly to the fact that Chall is not half as bad as he might have seemed at first blush. They will be friends easily if this keeps up.

That said, maybe we will have to orchestrate some manner of contention to get the sparks flying should we deem it necessary.

Oh, when they get bound to one another, Chall will become quite the little monster for a while :P He'll let all that silent ranting out, and boy, do I see sparks flying :P

Good! I wonder, mayhaps it could be tied in with his gift to Chall? He's giving a blanket and some foods, but perhaps something of his slipped in there accidentally? Or perhaps something into the herbs he gave him? *g* Urr is a land of prophecy and fate. Maybe the enchantments from there had a hand in twisting things about? It could allow for them to go their separate ways and not manage to really get far. That would give Chall a chance to have a focus for his anger as opposed to being a mistake of his own.

I has some ideas in mind, and at first Chall would blame himself out right, because that's the way he is, however I can see it developing in a way that leads to something more. . . Profound :P *Suddenly imagines Chall sleeping outside as self punishment* Heheheheh :P
