Vita, you don't have to react so much to posts you can be more proactive and just see the effects of your actions. Besides I don't like to post unless more than one person responds.

Um, well... I mean I do have an idea for a post, and I guess the bright light could act as a cover for what Blast Girl does...

@Vita, I think it would be better to have Blast Girl help save the hostages since while Gabriel did stun the henchmen, it won't last for very long and they might shot some of them if the henchmen aren't taken down.

So, I'm back now, but I have no idea what to do with Strix in Pariah's simulation. There's kind of a lot to do at once...

Well Strix has assumed a leadership position and you could give orders to some of the NPCs to coordinate with the PCs. Here's a list of some of the notable NPCs I envisioned for this simulation on the training side.More details on these guys later but the very rough basics are this,

Apogee: Zenith's cousin with the same powerset and unlimited enthusiasm. Basically our Supergirl

Redeye: Female version of Cyclops

Magnetar: Good-guy Magneto

Morph: Slime-based amorphous blob hero

Plasmus: Plasma-slinging energy blaster.

Bullseye: Female Green Arrow

Commanding these guys along with coordinating with the other PCs should give you somewhere to start since you know the basic capabilities of the opposition.

Steel melts when heated. Diamond is hard to scratch but easy to shatter. Fire melts ice, water extinguishes fire, and shorts electricity. Larger bodies are just bigger targets, and a longer fall to the ground.

Just a few thoughts.

Um...considering we're not looking to kill these people, some of those would achieve frankly terrible results. Larger body is also likely to come with increased durability, which somewhat nullifies the over-simplified 'bigger target' approach.

Do you want to win, or worry about hurting people that are definitely trying to hurt you? That's the real question here.

Incidentally, would the barriers created by the one villain happen to be made of mana or some other life force?

I WANT to not kill people who are actually League members meant to train us and also not get disqualified when we were specifically told by Pariah to do all of this non-lethally. Just because you want to do everything in the most ridiculously dark, overly 90's-anti-hero style doesn't mean the rest of us have to or even should.

You're assuming a bit much. My idea was to turn them against each other, neutralizing them with their own powers. It'd be creative and efficient, and surely impress the hell out of the league.

I don't think it was too far to assume when your response to my saying I didn't want to do anything that might result in fatalities was basically "Why do you care about that when it would let us win."

Secondly, your plan assumes highly trained, disciplined and experienced superheroes who were specifically selected both for this exercise and to train the people participating in it in the future would fall for what's nearly the oldest trick in the book and wouldn't just say, stop when you tried to get them to hit each other or literally anything else.

Uh yes Dblade is right this is a training simulation and there are ways to neutralize the opposition without using lethal force.

And no the villain creating energy shields isn't using life force but concentrated energy that she can manipulate to create lots of geometric shapes with multiple properties like being sound-baffling or air-tight or resistant to kinetic force. Her power is different from Aurora who creates entire constructs from her imagination that work like their real-life counterparts. Kind of like Susan Storm to Green Lantern.

Use a bit of finesse, that's all. Here's an example. Maneuver someone as a target for Ice, have Apogee pull them out before the attack lands, freezing the ground beneath Giant, someone gives a push and he falls, tangling himself in Rubber.

Try to think things over a bit before dismissing everything I say. I could just revert to, "Bitch, I eat people," but why not try being a team player?

when is this mission going to end? it has been a very long time and our characters haven't really socialized with each other at all really.

I'd say every scenario save the training one is a few posts from completion.
