I like your thinking, Pelly. That's a clever solution.

Clever, and familiar. . .

*suspicious squint*

And there are others running for the bishop position, but I'm not allowed to disclose exactly who.

EDIT: Alright, Sadko, you're good to join on several conditions:

1. You inherit the lands of the House of Rurikovich, commonly known as Mouseking's lands. You're free to rename them however you like, and I will assist you anything Mouseking already didn't do.

2. You be willing to start the game with House Pajari and House Moskewitz being at war with you for control of the throne.

EDIT'S TWIN BROTHER: How would you guys feel about half a season occurring after every round of posting, instead of a full season? It seems a bit hard to plan ones actions on the day-to-day up to four months in advance.

Hah, aye, the plan "A" was simply your own protocol for inactives, but it got me thinking about opportunities for vassal wars and fun stuff like that when newbies show up to play

And half a season works for me! At the very least just for the initial stages of the game, so that everyone can get their bearings at a slower pace and not have all their characters die of old age before anything happens

You're playing to my heart, Pelly.

Unless anyone objects to the half-season ruling, that will now be how this game shall proceed.

So one post that encompasses two months, rather than four months?

Travel times are confusing me to no end. Do we need to take into account whether or not we'd have received a message when it was sent based off of how far away it was sent from? Do, say, our family's nobles travelling take longer to travel than just a messenger?

That is correct, yes.

Diplomacy is actually instantaneous, and can be handled ICly or via PMs. It would be a good idea for players to communicate with each other with both, to get all the deets ironed out without causing confuzzles. It's up to the two players to decide what happens when in these cases, subject to my approval if the actions need to be secret or extra-ordinary.

In your case, you could start your post having already received and responded to the message from Lady Dryden.

My apologies, by the way. I don't think I mentioned this in the rules.

Good to have that cleared up. I figured that the travel times needed to send a message back and forth could easily be completed in a season, but it might not be clear in every situation.

On the seasonal posts, how do we handle events that require players to take actions and then react to each other's actions in a short span of time. For example, marching orders. Suppose two armies are maneuvering around each other in a game of cat and mouse (Not that I ever employ such dishonorable tactics... *cough*). If both armies have good scouts they could react to enemy movements in a few days time. Not mention the possibility of a truce to negotiate or a battle occurring before the season ended.

It's tricky stuff, but in situations where every unit of time matters, I think taking it to PMs in the form of a battle would be wisest move, even if no combat ends up occurring.

Fair enough.

To spark up conversation in this thread, what's the worst thing you've ever done in Crusader Kings?

This is funnier because I recently invaded Ethiopia as the Muslims.

But my greatest atrocity would probably be the time I blinded, then castrated, THEN killed my brother as the Byzantine Emperor.

I got bored playing a Russian Prince, so I used the console to murder every member of the Rurik family but myself.

I can imagine how that would go down. . .

"For perhaps attempting to think of a plot against my reign, I'm afraid it is my duty to do everything in my power to make your life a living nightmare for the next 24 hours. May God have mercy on you."

Myself, played as the Queen of Scotland. Killed all my sons but my youngest, so he would inherit, then killed everyone who would inherit the county of Trondelag until it went to me, which was about 12 people. Two more needed to die until I inherited, but I didn't need to kill them , because they died of pneumonia and old age, respectively.

The Crusades would always be the biggest wars, but you'd have Holy Wars going on in the Iberian Peninsula on the reg involving 40K+ men on both sides, even in the early centuries.

And are all the spainards related or something? Played a Spanish nation once, but created my own ruler.

I don't know why, but I don't get along with the Muslims in CK2.

Nobody does. Not even other Muslims.
