Ok, that makes more sense but still doesn't remove the issue, which is that your character, who has no super-speed according to his bio, was able to think and react to a body slam in between the time that it touched him and the time that it took for the force of Arty's momentum to be transferred into Adrian. Anyone short of the flash is too slow to do that, and even magical spikes don't form instantly, and that's also assuming that Adrian would still have the presence of mind to summon the spikes immediately after being body-slammed at super-human speeds (if you've ever been body-slammed you'd know how hard it is to think tactically during and right after, much less breath easily). Mass is also a factor in any collision, and since Adrian only weighs 195 pounds (which I assume includes his wings), Arty at 220 pounds has more mass and would more than double the amount of weight they have to support.

The point I'm getting at is that the force of the collision will affect Adrian long before he has a chance to summon the spikes, if he even retains the clarity of thought that would be necessary to summon them. He wouldn't even have enough time to smile.

Ok I do martial arts man and I weigh 195 pounds in real life and if someone slams into me or body slams me I lose no clarity im still thinking two moves ahead or more. Being hit does not stun you and since he is also surrounded by hellish energy that's pretty much like running head first into a burning metal wall. Plus he never turned his back on you in the first place he looked at the lich then did the energy thing then veered so the blind spot thing is kinda futile.

Since no one specified their locations in relation to each other, it was left to me to do so, and it made the most sense to have Leeroy's guy approaching from the other side of Adrian in relation to Arty, since he could see both of them as he walked up. I described such an arrangement in my post, which means Adrian literally could not look at the lich without turning away from Arty, unless he moved before doing so, which he did not.

As for the body slam, yes, you remain largely unaffected when you're in the middle of a fight with the adrenaline already flowing and the expectation of getting hit, but that's not what's happening. Adrian is entirely unaware and getting blindsided by a 220 pound projectile slamming into his back at superhuman speed. That's going to knock the breath out of him at the very least, armor or not. You also didn't specify any unique functions of the armor, so it is assumed that it functions in a similar manner and at a similar temperature to normal plate armor, which also doesn't do great against blunt trauma (which is what Arty's attack is causing).

If you're going to use magical armor that burns everyone it touches and can instantly sprout spikes of hellfire all while completely negating kinetic damage, you really have to specify all that in your CS, otherwise it's little different than power-gaming.

okay, i'm making a call here. first off, drallinix, you will have to edit your post. but, after going over the posts and putting together everyone's implied locations i'm going to settle this little dispute.

Schradinger was in the tree with drallinix in front of him. LeeRoy walked up behind drallinix and drallinix took to the air, bringing him slight above Schradinger and fairly high above LeeRoy. this means he's closer to Schradinger but with where he moved from when he moved to the right there would be no way that he could keep an eye on both Schradinger and LeeRoy, with his attention mainly on LeeRoy when he moved it's implied he was looking mostly towards LeeRoy at the time meaning that while he may have seen Schradinger coming at his side he wouldn't have done so in time to react.

also we'll have drallinix edit the post to take this into account then both LeeRoy and myself will post. after that we'll start the posting order properly.

Would it be alright if Drall edited then we started the correct posting order immediately? Otherwise Arty's going to be suspended in midair waiting for his collision with Adrian to conclude for the entire time it takes three different characters to perform two sets of actions. Everyone else has posted at least once since my last post, so it makes sense to start the posting order fresh in the very next post instead of compounding the problem further with more double posts.

Possibly, the character himself is not immune to fire, it's getting passed the armor that would be the rub because it would either register the heat and morph into something very fire retardant, which might be then susceptible to other types of damage, or absorb the thermal energy, which would slow the armor down a bit until the energy was expelled.

I've got a couple questions, mostly just to pick your brain. I think your character and his tech are absolutely fascinating, and somewhat similar to a concept I have for one of my own characters. :)

First question: Can the armor absorb infinite amounts of energy or is there a limit to it? If there's a limit, how high is it and what happens when it reaches it?

Second question: How quickly can it shift from one form of defense to another, and can it use multiple defensive forms simultaneously on different parts of its surface? (Like rubber to counter an electrical attack on its arm at the same time as a mirror to counter a laser on its chest.)

Third question: How much power can it generate for its energy weapons?

1. The armor can absorb a lot of energy, but the amount is finite. An overload is not something you want to see though, as it would cause the armor to suddenly shunt all of the excess energy into the surrounding area in the form of Cherenkov radiation, which would fatally irradiate everything that did not die immediately from third degree burns.

2. As for the multiple defense thing, the answer is yes. The AI responsible for controlling the autonomous functions of the armor can react to multiple threats at the same time. Though it could be put in situations where it might be overwhelmed, what those are though well...you'll have to figure that one out. But if you do, I'll make it apparent that that's what has happened.

3. The amount in total that the armor can generate is theoretically infinite, but the amount it can use at any given time is dictated by how much meta material is being put toward that purpose. At a Maximum, I'd say that without drawing from other sources Almeiden would have about 5 terajoule's
