[OOC] The Traveller's Return

[The Slenderman]

This takes place in mystic falls, a city home to Witches, Vampires, and Hybrids. The travelers invade mystic falls and do a spell to destroy Spirit Magic, meaning that Magic done by Witches will perish, meaning that Vampires, Hybrids, Witches will lose their powers. But the Vampires and Witches have a plan to get everyone back to the world of the living. Once every one has returned, they will try to take back their town.

The Travelers were an ancient community of gifted Witches who used powerful magic to achieve great things, including things that were frowned upon by other Witches. Qetsiyah and Silas were two members of the Travelers, and considered to be their most powerful members. However, things changed for the Travelers when the two created a spell for Immortality. When it was used on Silas and Amara, it caused a severe schism in the entire Witch community. The community was divided between those witches who sought to preserve what they saw as the natural balance of the world by using their powers for that aim, and those who believed they could use it to do anything. Fearing the power that could be unleashed on the world, a group of powerful Witches called upon The Spirits, placeing a curse on Qetsiyah's entire coven. The curse prevented them from gathering as a tribe, an act which would cause disasters such as plagues, fires and earthquakes whenever they gathered. Also, they no longer had access to traditional magic sources.

However, the Travelers eventually discovered that the curse only prevented them from gathering inside their own bodies, and that only magic coming from the earth was forbidden to them. They discovered a different way to practice magic and used it to create the Passengers, as a means to gather undetected by the other Witches and for them to avoid the curse by using other people's bodies. The Travelers also remained together and avoided the curse by never stopping anywhere more than one night. This also allowed them to prevent the witches from finding them. Witch Covens, such as that of Liv and Luke Parker, tried to track the Travelers for several millenia, but they were never able to find them. This led to centuries of war between the Travelers and the Witches. The Travelers also began to believe that the now-dominant form of magic, Spirit Magic, was a perversion of the magic they considered to be 'pure', and they became determined to have their revenge on the witches by destroying that perversion.

• Appearance: Damon is very handsome, standing 5'9" in height with a well built, toned physique. His physical appearance is that of around a 22-25 year old despite being over 170. Damon has a light complexion with olive undertones and has a strong bone structure with high cheeks bones and a solid jaw line. He possesses darkened brown, almost black hair which hangs just over his ears, usually styled in a casual disarray yet sometimes gelled for special occasions. With striking, intense blue eyes contrasting wonderfully against darkened lashes and eyebrows, a "bad boy" smile, he can be described as relatively athletic, tall, strong, sexy and seductive. He also considers himself the "eternal stud".
  
  Damon's clothing style has remained somewhat similar throughout the series, usually favoring darker clothing; black shirts, t-shirts and boots underneath darkened jeans and black trousers, although on occasion has been seen wearing lighter colors. Damon is rarely seen without his leather jackets and his favorite clothing designer is "John Varvatos". On special events, such as dances, he wears smart attire such as tuxedo's and dress shoes.
  As a vampire, he wears a large Lapis Lazuli daylight ring enchanted by Emily Bennett, as a means to walk around in the sunlight as a vampire. The ring has the Salvatore crest and an embedded "D".
  
  In flashbacks, as a human in the 1860's era, Damon generally wore the same attire as his younger brother; Stefan, including dress shirts with suspenders, waistcoats, dress coats, hats, cravats and leather laced boots as his usual style. His color scheme as a human was much lighter, Damon was seen wearing a red waistcoat, yet still formal, showing the Salvatore family's wealth. His hair was slightly longer in style, with slight curls, showing a much more youthful appearance.



• Powers and Abilities
  
  Decapitation - Dismembering or removing the head of a vampire will result in permanent death.
  
  Fire and Sunlight - Sunlight and U.V. rays burn vampires on contact and prolonged exposure will cause them to combust and die. vampires are also sensitive to fire and will die if they are not extinguished in time.
  Wood - Wounding a vampire with a wooden weapon such as wooden bullets will incapacitate them. Stabbing a vampire through the heart with a wooden stake will result in permanent death. Its revealed that because Enzo was experimented on for many years, he built a resistance to being hurt by wood. Its possible this applies for vervain and other weaknesses as well.
  
  Vervain - Exposure to or ingestion of vervain causes a vampire to become severely feverish and weak. Also, physical contact with vervain will burn a vampire's skin. Vampires cannot compel anyone who has ingested vervain or has it on their person.
  Heart Extraction - Removing the heart of a vampire will result in permanent death.
  Invitation - Vampires cannot enter a home without an invitation by the owner. When Elijah awakened inside Elena's home without an invitation after having the White Oak Dagger removed he began to suffocate painfully and presumably would have desiccated.
  Magic - Vampires are susceptible to the powers of witchcraft - including spells, potions, rituals and harmful magical objects.
  Desiccation - Vampires who abstain from blood for extended amounts of time will eventually desiccate and mummify. Witches can also use magic to desiccate vampire.
  Vampire Bloodline - If an Original vampire dies, all vampires descended from their bloodline will slowly perish.

  Werewolf Bite - The bite of a werewolf and the poison is extremely lethal to vampires. It will cause them to hallucinate, grow severely weak and go rabid until it kills them. Klaus' hybrid blood can cure the bite. Vampires suffering from the bite seem to always hallucinate moments from their past.
  Broken Neck - Breaking a vampire's neck will not kill it, but it will render it unconscious for few minutes. It was shown when Alaric snaps Stefan and Damon's neck they recover quickly.
  Hunter's Curse - If a vampire kills a member of The Brotherhood of the Five, they will be tormented by visions until they kill themselves or if the hunter is replaced.
  The Cure - If a vampire takes the cure it will become human again. The blood of last doppelgangers can be used to undo the magic of vampirism, which revert the vampires to the state of death before their transition.
  White Oak Ash Dagger - Its rumored If a vampire daggers an original, they will die when the original is neutralised.
  Gilbert Device - Invented by Johnathan Gilbert (Enchanted by Emily Bennett), the Device was a weapon designed to emit a high-frequency noise that could only be heard by vampires and werewolves.
  Doppelganger Blood Magic - If a doppelgangers blood is used in the Magic Purification Spell, all vampires' abilities will be stripped from them little by little and then they will be brought back to the last stage of their human life: Death. They will then relive the way they died when they transitioned into vampirism.



• BackStory
  Damon was born to Giuseppe Salvatore and an unnamed mother on June 28th, 1839 in the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. His younger brother Stefan Salvatore is seven years younger than him, and the two were very close. He joined the Confederate Army at some point, coming back when he was on leave to spend time at the Salvatore Estate. It is unclear when Damon first met Katherine Pierce, but he left the Confederacy and returned to Mystic Falls to spend more time with her. His father disapproved of what he considered Damon's poor sense of duty.
  
  It is uncertain how or when Damon found out that Katherine was a vampire, but unlike Stefan he did not fear or reject her, and willingly drank her blood. She once demonstrated to him one of her tricks for securing victims: lying in the middle of a road to stop any travelers that may come to pass. Though he showed an initial hesitance, Damon even kissed her while a victim's blood still stained her lips.
  
  Damon wanted to give up his human life and spend an eternity with Katherine, and he begged Stefan to keep the secret from their father, who was a member of the Town Council and a vampire-hater. When Stefan inadvertently revealed that Katherine was a vampire, she was taken away by the townspeople. Their father was furious and scolded Damon for trying to conceal her secret and protect her. Damon was furious with Stefan, but Stefan agreed to work with him to rescue her. In the midst of their daring plan, they were both shot and killed by Giuseppe, who was ashamed of his sons for sympathizing with and loving a vampire. They both died with Katherine's blood in their systems, but Damon awakened first and witnessed the burning of Fell's Church, where the townspeople had imprisoned the vampires, including Katherine.
  
  When Stefan awoke the next morning, Damon told him that Katherine's death meant his reason for living was gone, and he wouldn't complete his transition into a vampire. Later that day, when Stefan returned after being unable to resist feeding on his own father, and inadvertently completing the transition, he forced Damon to drink from a young woman's neck, causing Damon to also complete his transition. He promised Stefan an eternity of misery, not for making him turn but for the fact that Katherine had turned Stefan as well, instead of just Damon. At some point Damon received a daylight ring from Emily Bennett. She told Damon that she had spared the vampires in the church, which Damon kept secret from Stefan until 145 years later, when he would be able to free Katherine from the church.
  
  1912
  Damon saw Stefan in 1912 for the first time in 48 years since they transitioned; both had returned to Mystic Falls for their nephew's funeral. After an initial hesitance, Damon agreed to have a drink with Stefan and catch up. When he was feeding on a human alone, the vampire Sage found him and commented on his lack of enjoyment for the feed. Damon seemed content to feed just enough to survive, but Sage encouraged him to enjoy it, to take pleasure in being a vampire. Once he was persuaded, he tried to get Stefan to enjoy the feed, and talked him into feeding on human blood again. Stefan fed so hard on his victim that he tore her head off, shocking both brothers. Furious with Damon for making him drink human blood, he ran off and Damon did not pursue him.

  Damon & Charlotte
  Damon was living in New Orleans with a vampire he had turned named Charlotte. Damon soon noticed a pattern of strange behavior from the woman, in that every order he gave her, even seemingly innocuous ones, she followed with frightening enthusiasm. He sought guidance from the witch Valerie LaMarche to break the sire bond between him and Charlotte, and the witch told him she needed a human sacrifice of 12 people to do the spell. Damon killed the 12 people, but could not find Val to perform the spell he needed. He ended up ordering Charlotte to count every brick on every building in New Orleans and meet him at the corner of Bourbon and Dumaine. He left New Orleans soon after...
  
  Damon and Stefan in the 1940's
  Stefan and Lexi found Damon while he was in New Orleans. At Lexi's insistence, Stefan sought to make peace with his brother before shipping out to the North African front of the war. After an initial hesitance, Damon seemed happy to reunite with his brother after thirty years apart, and the two spent the evening talking. Damon even suggested he might join Stefan and leave for war with him, but Lexi made it clear she did not approve of the idea. Her concerns seemed warranted especially after Charlotte brought a bleeding victim to the bar where they were talking and Stefan started to lose it at the sight and smell of human blood. Later, Damon was all ready to ship out with Stefan when Lexi talked him out of it, citing his profligate lifestyle and how Damon's behavior would not be good for Stefan's rehabilitation. Realizing she might be right, Damon decided not to go, and he left the train station without explaining to Stefan.
  
  1953 - 1958
  In 1953, Joseph Salvatore lured Damon to Mystic Falls in order to hand him over to Dr. Whitmore. After Joseph injected Damon with vervain, Damon killed him, but Dr. Whitmore entered the room shortly after and injected Damon with another dose of vervain. When he woke up he was strapped to a table and Dr. Whitmore cut one of his eyes out, in order to experiment and study vampire healing abilities. Damon was brought to a cell and in the cell next to him was another vampire named Enzo. The two vampires bonded and it was Enzo's friendship that allowed Damon to hold on to his humanity. Dr. Whitmore continued to torture and perform experiments on him and he called him 21051.
  
  Every year Whitmore would show the rest of Augustine Damon and Enzo and demonstrate his research on the annual New Years Party. Enzo then came up with a plan for one of them two would drink the others blood ration in order to build up his strength until the coming New Years Eve. Damon was the lucky one and when the next New Years Eve Party came he broke free from his chains and he slaughtered every member of Augustine while the building set ablaze. Enzo was still trapped in his cage and Damon tried to free him, but the cage bars were soaked with vervain and couldn't get him out. Damon knew that if he was going to save himself he had to stop caring about Enzo so he turned his humanity switch of. Now not caring he left Enzo to burn alive. After finally being free from five years of torture, Damon kept the promise he made to Enzo to kill every member in the Whitmore family, but one and let that person have a family and kill them to but one and to the same thing again and again. Damon did exactly that and among the ones he killed was Aaron Whitmore's parents and Aaron was among the ones that he kept alive.
  
  1960
  
  It had been two years since Damon escaped the Augustine cell, and he still had his humanity switched off. On November 8, 1960, during Election night, a lady asked Damon for a interview. She asked him questions related to the terrible fire at Whitmore House and then tried to attack him with a vervain injection, but Damon easily stopped her. When he found out that she was an Augustine member he ripped her head off. Decades later Damon finds out that the girl he killed was actually Enzo's one true love, Maggie James.
  
  1977
  
  Damon lived in New York City during the 70's, where he maintained a wild life full of parties and feeding off of people. At the time, he still had his humanity switch off and he killed locals of New York; a soon to be fed upon victim asked if he was the Son of Sam, to which Damon replied, "Son of Giuseppe, but close enough". Damon was friends with Will, another vampire, who ran a bar and let Damon feed on the people there, while in exchange, Damon stole his victim's ID's for him.

  Lexi had eventually found Damon and told him that she and Stefan had heard all about Damon's current life and that Stefan was worried for him. Lexi tried to help Damon get his humanity back, but Damon rejected her offer. However, Lexi was stubborn and she stuck with Damon for the following six months. She had gotten Damon to talk about Katherine Pierce, thinking that if he talks about her, his switch will flip on. Damon tricks Lexi into thinking that his humanity was back and the two have a night full of wild sex.
  
  The next morning, Lexi woke up on a roof because the sunlight was burning her skin. She tried to escape by opening the door to get into Billy's, but it was locked. Then she found out the truth: Damon had tricked her. Damon told her that it was his way of getting back at her for annoying him for the past six months. He ditched Lexi on the roof thereafter, leaving her trapped until nightfall. It was revealed in The Cell, that Damon turned off his humanity in the 1950's because he couldn't deal with the pain of leaving Enzo behind while escaping from the Augustine Society.

Over time she has Developed all 3 of her magical powers and found ways to fuse some to use in interesting ways.... However she can't make a Soul Come back, or force spirits to do her work for her, they have to be willing to work, the air magic she has is the only thing she has control over definitively.
  
  Also unlike normal Witches, she doesn't lose powers over some Rituals or lack of wind in the area, though if she were in a complete Vacuum sealed room... she would be powerless, to use magic.... as wind magic is based off of the air. no air, no powers.... though in manipulating souls she could use her own soul and go into a meditative state to preserve her own life in a case like this.

Powers:
1.)Transformation: Having been born a vampire by both vampire parents, Deimos had pure blood of a bat; meaning he could transform into the legendary among the night children bat form. In this form wings sprout from his back, giving him the power for flight, his very fingers growing sharp talons that are able to parry blades of the sharpest of swords. However in this form Deimos loses control of his sanity, making his bloodlust tenfold and attack even his comrades if he scents them. Along with that, Deimos hates using this form because it gives him headaches along with hearing voices in his head, as evident from his early years when he used this form to his advantage. He uses this powerful, berserker-like power only when his life depends on it.
2.) Immunity: Not only due to his vampirism does it block out all harmful diseases, even more so with his purity blood, but due to a long ago battle with a powerful necromancer, Deimos's red eyes turned into a misty green, fog coming out of them. How this happened came when the powerful undead mage used powerful magic to try and suck out Demios's purity essence through his eyes. However that would be his downfall as Deimos roared in anger, charging at him in newly found rage as he rammed his sword through him at mid-spell, causing his purity to not only come back to him, but also the magic from the necromancer. This caused Deimos's blood to harden, evolving magical resistance against the elements. While fire is still his biggest weakness and will definitely kill him, he can now resist the sun and fire better then any other vampire.

Personality: Deimos can be simply described in one word; paranoid. If in battle, he will rush into the front line and take the fight straight to the enemy, in hopes that he will see none of his comrades bleed and trigger his bloodlust. Given by his past of his purity form, Deimos has become quite fearful of his vampirism abilities, fearing it'll drive him insane with bloodlust as his kin, making him quite very, very, very often. Matter of fact, it's almost impossible to get him to speak as he was raised to be the ultimate spy/assassin for his father growing up, mixed with his fear not helping his speaking problem. However if he deems them worthy, he may utter a single sentence to them, although those he had spoken to are dead now. He also never answers questions that would give his past away, such as what of his mysterious eyes? Or why he never shows his face? In all Deimos is calm, quiet, smart, strong, and always will-powered to go on and out-maneuver, out-class, out-smart, and out-strength his opponents as he has done throughout the years, whether they be magical or not.
Background: Deimos was born in a high coven of vampires who ruled in a old, ancient kingdom. He was born by the ruler and his wife, both being vampires. It was quite rare for a vampire child to be born as they mainly vampires just bite their victims to expand their numbers, and sexual encounters usually are just they sinking flesh into one another, blood-exchange. Deimos was born with purity of the bat's blood, giving him the 'blessing', as the nobles around the old kingdom called it, of the bat though he would later find it to be a cursing. At the age of 10 when he could properly handle a sword, Deimos was trained in stealth, sword-play, and defense against magic. His training was rough and lasted for years, training him to be quite as can be, forcing him to limit his breathing by tying heavy rocks to him and making him walk with them everywhere he went, beat him for uttering audible words or sounding footsteps. Because of this harsh training, Deimos's social skills were next to none, but he became the ultimate assassin/spy. He was 12 years old when he went to his first battle, having to fight a whole clan of bandits on his own. He sticking to the shadows, and never wasting the opportunity, Deimos killed thirty men and women with in under half an hour. Later when Deimos was returning home, he encountered the hunting party of the clan. They attacked him, laughing gleefully as Deimos pulled out his sword, never missing a beat as he dodged the magic of the novice witches of the group, dispatching them with ease. This was just the beginning for him, after this he attacked bigger and bigger targets, those who were skilled in magic for the next 150. However he also used his bat form commonly in the battlefield when his father arrogantly went to war. He began hearing voices, slowly losing his mind. The voices kept demanding for more and more blood, causing Deimos to snap, attacking his own family's hold. The guards were no match for the boy, every time they would try and burn him, he would disappear in the shadows and attack and kill them with ease. In just one, long night Deimos had killed every noble, every guard, every one of his family. He felt nothing, but fear. He didn't care for his family, they made him into the weapon he is, the weapon simply backfired. The fear came from that he finally was droven insane enough to do it by the voices, making him go stop using it. Overtime they slowly disappeared, although they popped up now and again whenever he used it for one of his most challenging battles, but it disappears in just a few short weeks. Eventaully Deimos became a mercenary over the four decades, never asking for payment as all he wanted was to drink the blood of his target. Because of the no 'payment' he was labeled a hero, never suspecting him of what he did was sinking his teeth into his enemies, making sure to burn the bodies later for them to not come back. At the age of 207, Deimos was contracted with the task of killing a powerful necromancer, to which he accepted. After finding his lair, Deimos confronted the powerful wizard to which they battle fiercely. That's when the mage threw fire at the vampire, weakening him as he roared in pain. That's when everything changed. The undead-wizard began to try and steal the purity of Deimos's blood, the very essence from his veins, to which enraged the vampire, and with this new-found will he pounced on the wizard, sinking his teeth as he sucked the fool dry, absorbing not only his stolen purity from the wizard, but also his eyes turning into a misty green, strengthening his body and blood against the sun and fire. Now Deimos was heard of the lands of Mystic Falls, hearing the conflicts of there, their must be some side in need of a highly-skilled mercenary that works for free.....
