"a month is not long enough. if you wish to equal me then you're going to need multiple decades, maybe even half a century depending on how dense you are" he says evenly, as if simply stating facts regarding the issue as he continues walking with her, bending down to grab his mask before brushing it off and adjusting the breathing apparatus

she feels three sudden stikes to her inner knee, stomach, and left shoulder, forcing her to vomit a bit and knocking her to the ground, the struck leg refusing to move without excrutiating pain "three hours and then you'll set up camp" he states evenly, removing the blade harmelessly from the haft before tossing the staff to her as he does a sleight of hand trick to make the blade disappear

he shifts to let her grab the pills easier as he says "oh well. look at it this way: you get to learn things that will make you more powerful than your colleagues if you're anything to go on" evenly, although it was obviously meant to be reassuring his flat, deep voice betrayed no emotion. the man continues walking for a while, carrying her until they reach a tiny clearing just big enough to make camp, setting her down gently and making sure she has a tree to lean against for some slight comfort before clearing space for a fire near enough to her that she wouldn't have to move. "take your armor off" he orders evenly as he gets things set up and gathers firewood

"then either close your eyes or ask me to do something" he says evenly as he undoes the armor on her wounded arm first, making it less painful but the pain is still there. he examines her arm before grabbing a poultice from his bag and rubbing it into the nasty bruise that was forming, hurting but she knew it would help

He sees no skin, rather just scales.
"Stop..." she asks, covering the area with her hand. "They can heal on their own. I don't need your meds." She says.

"it's faster" he says evenly, being a bit gentler and working on the damaged area, scowling and removing his gloves to reveal his hands looking like bird's feet although still human. he finishes with her arm before offering her a long sleeve shirt and silken gloves similar to his own as he says evenly "you'll need to be lighter for the training" before removing the armor to her injured leg and repeating the process, the pain in her arm fading away already as control returns although he keeps his head bowed to give her some semblance of privacy to change

"that kind of armor is too constricting and heavy for the type of training you'll be doing. if you want armor then i can turn yours into something like mine or you can take it off, and learn the normal way" he says, giving an ultimatum before sighing and removing his own armor and shirt, tilting her head up to look at him as he speaks "i know you don't like your scales, but you're just going to have to get used to them. they're a part of you know... and if you don't beleive me then look at me" he adds the last part as wings extend on either side of him. after his lecture he walks away and grabs a change of clothes, dropping them on her lap before setting about getting a fire started
