I keep the force's mind out of my thoughts as best as I can. Without going into its thoughts. If I entered its mind without giving it a way into mine, I would no doubt learn more about it, but it may attempt a more hostile invasion. In case it was friendly, that solution would no doubt cause problems in having the two factions talk things out.
On the other hand, letting it into my mind would allow it to see my intentions. If it was good, it would discover my hopes on solving the conflict peacefully. If it was evil however, it would not only discover my willingness to kill it if it is evil, but it would also take advantage of my peaceful intentions.
Either way, it was a gamble.
And so, with everything taken into account, I decide to the one thing that was without a doubt pretty dumb. A decision between the two that would most likely fry my brain or make me the living meat puppet of an ancient evil. A decision that most people wouldn't recommend
