[IC] HCL 2: Twisted tinkers' triumph

I keep the force's mind out of my thoughts as best as I can. Without going into its thoughts. If I entered its mind without giving it a way into mine, I would no doubt learn more about it, but it may attempt a more hostile invasion. In case it was friendly, that solution would no doubt cause problems in having the two factions talk things out.

On the other hand, letting it into my mind would allow it to see my intentions. If it was good, it would discover my hopes on solving the conflict peacefully. If it was evil however, it would not only discover my willingness to kill it if it is evil, but it would also take advantage of my peaceful intentions.

Either way, it was a gamble.

And so, with everything taken into account, I decide to the one thing that was without a doubt pretty dumb. A decision between the two that would most likely fry my brain or make me the living meat puppet of an ancient evil. A decision that most people wouldn't recommend

I do both.

The being reaches into your mind, or, tries to, but quickly recoils.
"..Kishin...help me, I'm not the monster that the flaming one is seeking...that was my father..." The being in the book calls out. The flaming one grows worried, and readies a fireball in preparation in case the book corrupted you.

"Give me a little time. I got this." I tell the flaming one "how do I know you're telling the truth?" I then think. Knowing the being could most likely read minds

You feel a chill run down your spine, as a portal opens from beside you, a woman stepping out...a humanoid with pale skin, with a purple tint. Her clothing was extremely basic, made from some strange leathery material, like that of a snake's egg shell. Her eyes strike you, a crystal blue, and they almost seem to stare into your being. However, after a moment, you notice something..she's starved, her cheek bones standing out. It wasn't her normal structure. The flaming one throws a fireball at the girl, who seems to not notice it hurtling towards her.

I dive toward the girl and tackle her out of the way "you'll thank me later." I tell her before getting up and looking in the flame being's direction "Hey. Cool it with the fireballs." I pause before adding "If that means something totally different here, I apologize. Just... just hold off on the violence for now. Okay?"

The strange woman lands with a pained grunt, and she coughs a bit. The flaming one stops, but seems ready for battle still. "She...she...What is she?" The flaming one asks, confused, and sounding scared. It floats closer, not fearing the effects of the book. Or, the told effects of the book. Curiosity, mixed with fear prevents it from running.
"......Thank you.." The strange woman says, looking quite scared of her surroundings. She clings to you. ".....I don't w-want to be here...." She says, trembling due to something.

I hold her gently. "I'm guessing you're the one who was trapped in the book." I say "mind telling me your name?"

"..My...father called me..Greedly..." She says, still shaking. She gently plants a finger against your temple, and you begin to feel her enter your mind. You feel her begin to root though your memories, and a few begin to vanish. Pretty much you just looking at the inside of your eyelids as you sleep. Her body begins to plump up, the signs of starvation vanishing, as a life time of memories of the moments before dreams began are devoured. This, of course, doesn't effect you really in the slightest, these memories given no real value to who you are, but you figure out one of her powers...memory consumption.
The flame being floats over to her, and grabs her hand, ripping it away from your face, Greedly shrieking in pain as her flesh seems to sickly melt as it comes in contact with the fire, her red blood, and melted flesh pouring onto you, mostly. The smell is sickening, reminding you of many a scene where a poor fool was caught in a fire, their charred flesh making a horrid smell....

I grab the flaming one's wrist. Not caring if I end up on fire "we are going to go about this my way!" I yell as I pry open his grip with my free hand "peacefully with as few deaths as possible! Are we clear?!"

You're hand gets badly burnt, but you manage to prevent Greedly loosing her hand. She cowers behind you, whimpering, and crying. Her wound may require her hand to be amputated though, if she does not receive medical attention.
"She isn't some woman, she's a old one, a being of immense evil power. If we let her get to maturity, it'll cost thousands of lives." The flaming one says, getting ready to roast her. "....If it bothers you, then leave..but she has to go..."

"...I don't want to die..." Greedly whines, scared. You have a choice....trust the flaming one, and potentially save thousands, or risk them, for the life of one? The choice is yours.

I look over at the flame being "with how you're so eager to end her life?" I ask as clones portal in and tend to her wounds "I could see that happening. After all, violence breeds violence." I walk towards him until I'm only a few feet away "I believe there's a way to save all those people. Without taking any lives."

"......What would that plan be?" The fire elemental asks, and Greedly allows the clones to help her, but she does seem quite scared of them.
"..Don't hurt me..." She whimpers, cowering.

"I suggest giving her a chance." I reply. The lead clone give greedly a smile and says "don't worry. You're in good hands."

"Th-thank you..." She says, before holding out her arm with the melted flesh, her wrist barely still attached.
".....I cannot fight you, but this is a horrible mistake..." the flaming one says, before leaving. Now, you are left with greedly, and the strange book.

"Alright. First things first, let's get that wrist reattached." I say say before opening a portal and walking through. Leaving it open for greedly to follow

She stumbles though, in a good deal of pain.

She finds herself in a surgical ward with two doctors. If they didn't share the same lower body, things would probably be less awkward... especially since their being opposite genders doesn't help in their situation "oh there you are." The one on the right says "I see that wrist of yours has probably seen better days. So if you could lie down over there on that operating table, that would be great." "Minnie, it's just her wrist. We don't need the operating table." The doctor on the left sighs. Minnie shrugs and says "you know what vinny? Fine. We'll do it your way." She looks at greedly and says "nevermind. Sit at the chair with the arm rest. The one with the half ring on top of the arm rest to be exact."

She barely bats an eye at the strange creature (or, at least strange to her.), seeming unphazed by such a thing. She sits, and smiles a little. "...thank you..." She says, but winces as she climbs into the chair, her moving causing her wrist to move, it looking very..unpleasant, let alone how it would feel.

"Alright, now let's take care of that wrist." Vinny says as Minnie brings out a strange looking device "first thing's first, we'll need to disinfect the wound." "It'll sting a bit, but it'll be over before you know it." Minnie adds

Greedly nods, weakly, and closes her eyes, waiting for the disinfectant to do its work.
