I'm thinking of rebooting HCL. Or rather, I'm planning on creating a new thread which will be based on the same concept, ditching the incredibly long story of HCL. Why? Because it's grown so long, convoluted and complex that I simply can't keep track of what's happening anymore. In addition to the extra timelines, we have a large number of characters that spend most of their time chilling on the sidelines, despite their supposed importance. The multiverse is a dull place with no landmarks besides the houses of particular characters, the entire dimension-travelling element has lost all of it's charm.
Of course, whether people choose to join or not is up to them. Personally, I think it's the best thing for HCL right now. But hey, I'm not the boss of you.
I feel like we are all growing up, going to school, getting jobs, getting girlfriends, and we can't be around each other long enough to keep a storyline rolling on a daily basis. We always have to switch to different characters or cut stories or forget them, because somebody vanishes for a week or longer. This kind of quick-posting, free, do-whatever storytelling is impossible for anyone with a schedule, and for those of us who can rapid-fire posts, someone else's story gets buried 4 pages deep, and nobody wants to hunt for it. We end up with characters that only ever interact with the same set of characters. Like, I still don't think Mithias has ever done anything with Asura or creed. I think we need to get more serious, more modern, more casual instead of free. We need to actually wait for each other and put some effort into interacting with different people. This means longer posts, more world building, contributing to a plot, and taking some of the weight off the GM's hands. What do we want this story to be about? What do we want to do with each other?
