[IC] A Whole New World

"Very new." Zack smiled. He like the ice cream. The cold was surprising but he loved the flavor and the texture of it. He could hardly wait to try more. He frowned as he realized that he was eatting her food but he had no way of reimbursing her for the cost. He had no way of making money in her world. He did not even exist for anyone but her. Why hadnt he thought about this complication earilier. What was he going to do about it. "Thank you for everything. I will find a way to repay you."

"Huh? It's ok, really it is" she said to him but sighed looking to him "Look if you really want to pay me back then here to earn money we get jobs, but you still need to learn some more basics when here ok?" she sounded a little concerned about it as well.

"I don't have any documentation. Even when I am comfortable with your world how am I going to prove who I am. Your planet requires a being prove who they are correct? On many planets a being can not work unless they can prove who they are. I didn't think about this complication. Most of the planets we have traveled to in the past are use to visitors from other worlds. And would accept documentation from my home world. I do not think yours will."

"Ah, that's true" she said and shook her head "Well, if we can get you a passport that counts as documentation from this world and the rest we'll have to work out somehow" she said to him before kissing his head gently. "We'll figure out something ok?"

"I guess it is the best I can hope for at the moment. I do not want to be a burden on you. I will do whatever you think is best." Zack told her. He placed his bowl in the sink before walking over to her. He gently cupped the back of her head with his hand. "I guess it is time to say goodnight." He said softly as he lowered his lips to hers. He brushed his lips against hers. Then he silently made is way up the stairs.

"You're not a burden, so stop thinking that but you'll also need such things not just for a job for other things as well" she said to him before he kissed her lips making her freeze and turned rather red. She nodded and finished up doing the dishes before heading up to her own bed still a little flustered and lay back on her bed listening to her racing heart.

Zack lay on the bed trying to go to sleep he was exhausted. But his mind wouldn't settle down. All he could think about was the feel of her lips beneath his. Her lips had been cold from the ice cream and had tasted slightly of chocolate. He thought about her reaction. She had froze for a moment. Had he scared her or was she remembering a past bad experience? He simply didn't know about her and the reactions of her kind.

Keita had simply been quite shocked by it was all and touched her lisp a moment before she simply tried to get to sleep for the next morning. The next day when she got up and saw him she turned a little red and looked away before going to make some breakfast for them both.

Zack kept his distance from her. He wanted to give her was much space as he could. Her reactions confused him. He watched her carefully trying to figure out what to do. He wanted to help her to comfort her. But he didn't know how. He picked at his breakfast he wasn't very hungry. Finally he pushed his plate a way and headed out to the garage.

Keita frowned a moment "Ah, guess he's confused" she said and eventually found her way downstairs to the garage "Umm, Zack, we need to talk" she said "I'm sorry I was just a little shocked and well…" her cheeks still little red "embarrassed, I'm not used to such things anymore is all so don't start to freak out"

"I should apologize. I never meant to scare you or make you uncomfortable. On my world we touch each other all the time. It is how we express kindness and friendship. Sometimes I forget that our cultures are so different. I will stay away and give you space. It is the least I could do to after everything you have done for me. I would offer to leave but I have no where to go. But I can promise that I will not touch you again."

"It's ok, but here it's ok to touch people but kissing someone on the lips when you're not going out with them can lead to misunderstandings is all" she said to him. "and I wouldn't expect you to offer to leave" she frowned at him "So don't say such things, just be yourself ok, that's the person I like not the one who keeps quiet and upset" she said and kissed his cheek gently. "and you're not so bad anyway so I don't mind it just gave me a bit of a shock but I did like it"

"I am not upset. I am worry. I do not wish to make you uncomfortable. And it is obvious that my actions have made you uncomfortable." Zack explained. He walked to the other side of the garage and grabbed a towel. " I do not know what you mean by going out with someone, but I know we are not doing it. I wish to be your friend I simple have to do do in away that isn't so shocking."

"Ah right, so basically going out as in a romantic relationship but you're not quite mates with that person I guess you could say" she explained "and well you can kiss people's cheek and head like I do with you" she said to him "Hmmm, ok who can I help you with this then" she said trying to think carefully.

Zack watched her carefully. "I am still not sure what you mean, but with alittle more time I will. I will watch more TV and read more books. Once I have a better understanding of how friendship works for your people I will try again. Until then I think it is best just to give you as much space as I can. That way I don't make you uncomfortable."

"You were doing fine up to that point" she tried explaining "Ok let me explain, you are actually doing fine, but kissing someone on the lips… well until… how you would say it they're your mate many people don't do that ok?" she said trying to explain in terms he'd understand "anyway we were meant to do some baking today, so come on, it'll be fun and it's something that we use to work on our friendship ok?" she said to him smiling a little.

Zack hesitated. He wasn't sure that baking with her was a good idea. He wasn't sure he wanted to be in the kitchen with her and not be able to kiss her. He had liked kissing her. Still she said it could help their friendship and he really did want to be her friend. "if your sure that you still want to bake I will come inside. But it won't hurt my feelings if you have changed your mind and wanted some space."

"I haven't changed my mind so come on, ways your hands first though you always have to do that before baking" she said and tied up her hair properly before heading into the kitchen and finding the recipe for the sponge cake and bean sorting out the ingredients after washing her hair. "Ah there you are, can you get the jam and cream from the fridge for me please? the whipped cream" she said making sure he got the right one.

Zack washed his hands as soon as he entered the kitchen. He kept as much distance between them as the small room would allow him to. He went to the fridge to get the the times she had he requested. He set both items on the table. Then he took a chair on the other side of the table from her. He watched her careful. Partly to learn how to make sponge cake. But mostly to true and understand he.

Keita looked to him and moved making him stand and help her with making ti "You'll learn more by actually doing Zack" she said to him bluntly and showed him how to mix all the ingredients and also let him have a go before she got to work finishing the cake of and showing him how to do each step and let him have a go as well.
