[IC] A Whole New World

Zack watched as she gentle too the bird. She was such a tender hearted person. Hopefully his mate would be like her. He didn't bother answering her question because he knew she would only him go rushing out. He wondered if he made he uncomfortable. That wasn't his intent but he could understand why she would be nervous. "I doubt you have heard of my home planet. It is a long way from here. I am from a planet called Palodi."

"Nope not heard of it, can you tell em about it?" she asked, she was defiantly curious if nothing else. "It's nice to learn about a lot of different places no matte dhow far away they are" she smiled. "Also we need to figure out a way for you to keep travelling although that'll be rather difficult I can tell you that now" she said to him trying to think about any possible options he could use.

"It is a small planet. A bit smaller then yours I would guess. Although I would need measurements to be sure." Zack explained. "Almost all the female died out in a plague. That is way we send out a group of men seeking other life forms. Palodi is very different from your world. There are trees everywhere. We have many small rivers rather then the large bodies of water like you have. I might as well see if anyone is compatible with me while I am sure. Unfortunately I can't do that without my equipment. Which may not have survived the crash."

Keita listened and frowned "I see well that's rather bad and we can try to find your stuff tomorrow it's rather a;the and well I'm the only person who lives remotely close to that field" she said to him "It might not be beyond repair either and I have a few unusual parts in the shed anyway" she said "Anyway get some rest, I'll try and find a better way to help you get out to investigate that place later on and depending on how you act around the females on this planet you might need to brush up on how relationships work on this planet"

Zack wondered if she realized how many times she said Anyway. She always seemed to be rushing away from him. How was he suppose to learn anything about this planet uf she wouldn't talk to him? Was there a reason she was in a hurry to get him away from her? Was she already mated. "Alright. I will see what can be done tomorrow. I will not bother you any longer." Zack closed his eyes again.

She sighed "Look I'm not rushing you out I just have some annoying guests coming tomorrow is all and if they see a male here then there will be several questions which I don't want to have to answer" she explained "Sorry if I come across like that, just stressed is all, I have college deadlines as well since it's my final year" she said "You can ask some questions and I'll answer them as best I can"

"I do not wish to inconvenience you. Having a stranger crash into your life at anytime can not be easy." Zack assured her. "I will stay out of the way as much as possible. My questions can wait. There is no need to hurry. You need rest."

Keita smiled a little "Thanks, and just stay in bed while they're here for the time being, shouldn't be loner than an hour, they're not the type to stick around" she said "Also I managed to find some of my brothers old pi's so they might me nicer to sleep in that the clothes you're currently wearing" she said having brought them in with her and put them on the side for the time being. "Anyway goodnight and sleep well" she said before leaving the room and changing into her own PJ's before she headed to bed. The next day she woke up and cleaned the bird cage as well as feeding and giving him fresh water in the bird cage and then got to work on making some breakfast. She headed upstairs and checked if he was awake or not to eat breakfast with him.

Zack nodded his agreement. He had no problem staying in his room until her guest left. He couldn't get around easily. he didn't want to add to her stress. He set the PJs aside. He had no intention of changing. It would be too difficult. He closed his eyes and allowed sleep to claim him. He woke before sunrise the next morning.

Keita knocked on the door seeing he was awake "Here we are and I can have breakfast with you this morning as well" she smiled and looked to him "It's egg on toast, so should be nice" she smiled softly and let him sit up first before she explained about the guests and who they were so he knew in advanced. "Also heading to the store later today anything you want me to look for while I'm there?"

"I don't know what I might need." Zack explained. Until he knew what survived he could only guess. He didn't want to waste her time and funds on guesses. "It will have to wait until I see what survived." He hoped her visit with her parents went well. It made him alittle neverous that they were scientist. But if he stayed out of sight they shouldn't have a problem. And since he planned to stay right where he was they should be fine.

Keita's parents walked around the house checking everything but luckily the spare room Zack was in was not checked. They said hello to Calcifer who bobbed his head up and down in greeting before giving 'kisses' on the parents cheek happily enjoying the guests. "Any boyfriends yet Keita?" asked her mother as they eventually sat at the table for some tea "No mother no boyfriends, there aren't any guys that take my fancy so why waste my time on them?" she asked bluntly.

Zack spent the time thinking about what he would need and what he might be able to use. He hadnt seen much of the world so he didn't know if they would have what he needed but from what he had seen he doubted they would have anything he could use. Which left him stuck on a strange planet with no hope of finding his life mate.

"Are you sure Keita, you're first aid kit has been sued there must be someone "Yes but they headed home hours ago" she said her mother who smiled and laughed a little "Ok I get the message" she sipped her tea. Keita meanwhile seemed a little unhappy at such conversations and hoped her mother would leave soon "Now then I should get back to work, wish I could stay longer but it was only meant to be a short visit, so I'll come visit again sometime and get a boyfriend by then Keita, you're 23 years old and you are not getting any younger" "Oh just leave it mother I'll find a boyfriend when I want and there are none I like so far" she said bluntly before escorting her mother out after she'd finished her tea. She then went and checked up on him "Sorry it took longer than I thought, how's your leg doing?" she asked him.

"I didn't mind waiting." Zack assured her. "I have had similar visits from my mother. I think mothers are the same all over the universe." Zack winced as he put his foot on the floor so he could stand. "It is healing. It will be a day or two before I can use it for more then a few minutes. Can we go to my ship? I would like to see what the damage was. If you have other things to do just let me know when you are ready. I don't want to be anymore of a burden to you."

"It's fine we should go earlier rather than later" she said and helped him out "You don't have to put as much pressure on it this way" she said to him and walked him downstairs she took him to a chair and put Calcifer in his cage. She then tried to remember which way the site was before she got him to stand up again and helped him outside "You won't remember which direction exactly will you?" she asked "Wish I still had my horse, would've been a lot easier to get around" she frowned "There aren't any roads near where it crashed so it's a little difficult to get there" she said to him.

"I vaguely remember the direction." Zack told her. His memory was sort of fuzzy as to the exact location. But her figure if they headed in the right direction they would find it eventually. It was the best he could think of. Hopefully they could get the ship before his leg gave out. He tried not to lean on her too much. It took over an hour for them to reach the site. As soon was he saw how damaged the ship was he knew it was hopeless. He couldn't repair it. He would either have to find a way to build a new one or make a home on this planet. He researched through the wreckage hoping that his scanner was still in one piece. Finally he found it. "Well atleast this survived."

Keita tried to help him while searching through the wreckage and looked over once he found something "Guessing that's something important, what is it?" she asked him before she helped get out of the wreckage with the scanner. "Looks like it can scan stuff so what does it do?" she made him sit down in order to rest a little and sat beside him as she waited for an answer. After she did receive an answer she waited until he was better before se helped him up and they headed back taking the scanner with him.

Zack as glad to get off his leg. It was aching. He knew he was going to have a hard time getting back to her house. He wasn't sure it would bare his weight again not for awhile any way. "It is a scanner designed be the scientist of my home planet to scan for viable mates for our men." Zack turned on the device. It flashed a rainbow of colors. "It will detect a possible mate for up to a mile away." Suddenly the scanned buzzed.

"That's a convent device isn't it? and who do you know who it means anyway?" she asked before it buzzed "Hmm, lucky for you seems like it's found someone" she said hearing the bus, whenever something buzzed usually meant something was done or it'd found something in the case of scanners. "Also quick working, would be great if I could use to to actually find a good boyfriend" she joked.
