"Keita what are the odds that there is someone else within a mile of us?" Zack asked as he waved the scanner around. He frowned at it thoughtfully as he checked around him in different directions. The oddest of him crashing so close to him mate had to astronomical.

Keita looked to him "Well unless there are a few people on walks then there aren't many odds, usually just me around here" she said before it sunk in, she was rather shocked when she figured it out "Well there usually are a few others around on sundays so it might be one of them for all you know"

"Will you walk around and look? " Zack asked her. "I have to know who it is. If someone her is a viable mate for me I have to met her. Will you help me?"

"Ok I'll have a look around but you're to go back to bed and rest first" she said and moved to give him a hand "I'll think of something so don't worry, There should be people on the usual routes also just so I know will it picked up women who are already married or not?" she asked him just so she was sure what to look for. After getting an answer she headed outside taking Calcifer upstairs to keep him company before hand.

"It shouldn't pick up women that are taken. It should only buzz for available mates." Zack explained to her. He showed her the positive indicate and the negative indicator. Because the device kept vibrating he suggested that she have anyone she saw hold it or to place it near them and step back. He leaned on her as they walked back to her house. Once he was back in his room Zack laid down and feel asleep exhausted from the trip.

Keita was a good few hours she ran into a few women but a lot of them were already taken o had boyfriend so came up negative on the scanner. She explained it was an experiment for a new device so they let her 'test it out' so to speak. She came up with only negative results but the buzzer kept going off "Maybe it did get broken?" she muttered as she walked back thinking for a moment and went on the route again just to check. Once back she checked on him and left it beside him after turning it off "Didn't find anyone, they were either married, had boyfriends or if they were single only produced negative results" she said to him "I'll try again tomorrow"

"There is no need for you to do that." Zack told her. He gently took her hands into his. He could tell that she wasn't going to take this well. She was going to fight him and destiny. "The results can only mean one thing. You are my viable mate."

Keita frowned at his words and moved her hands from his "Sorry but it's probably not" she said bluntly to him, he was right she really wasn't taking it too well. She watched as the cockatoo waddled over and then flew onto her shoulder, she scratched it's head "I have work to finish off call if you need anything" she headed downstairs where she sat at the table and held her head "This just got a whole lot more complicated" she muttered having no idea what to think or do at that point.

Zack didnt really understand why she was upset. But he knew that she needed space to think. He needed to give her a chance to get use the idea. After a couple of hours Zack dragged himself out of bed. He slowly made his way down the stairs. "Why won't you give me a chance?"

"Because it'll only end badly, it always does" she said to him with a frown on her lips and you should be in bed recovering still" she sighed "So far I've not met one decent man, I went out with one and he betrayed me, I'm not trusting anyone, especially not men, they just betray at every chance they get"

"I see." Zack said slowly. "I must suffer be ause one man wronged you." Zack winced as he leaned against a door frame. "I am not asking you to mate with me today. I only ask the chance to get to know you. To have you get to know me."

Calming down a little she sighed "oK then, but let's just start out as friends first" she said "Anyway get back to bed" she moved over and helped him get back in end "Honestly, just stay in bed and recover moving around ill only make your recovery slower, I'll see if I can bring up some movies and we can watch them, that TV should work once i sort out a few wires"

"Thank you." Zack told her. He gentle caressed her cheek. "I only want a chance to get get to know you. To learn about your planet. If friends are all we can be then I will find a way to make peace with that." Zack made himself comfortable on the bed. "There is no need for you to go to so much effort. You don't need to enertain me."

"Hmm it's actually not much trouble it's nice to watch movies with friends"it's something people do on this planet quite a lot actually" she said to him and picked out a few movies from downstairs before sorting the TV out also, if the TV is working you might be able to learn a few things from documentaries" she said "There are a few on every week about the nature and also the planet so would be good for you to watch them, historical ones are sometimes on too" she explained "I need to get this Tv working anyway so don't worry about it" she then sorted out the DVD player and let him pick the movie they would be watching.

Zack watched as she worked on the TV. He didn't understand half of what said. He simply let her talk. He wanted to learn everything about her and her world. She seemed to like to stay busy. Everytime he saw her she was busy doing something. He looked at the movies she selected. "Can you tell me what these words are?" He asked pointing to titles.

She ruffled her hair "Ok, looks like we might need to start with basics" she said to him and read the titles out for him "Howl's Moving Castle, Van Hellsing, Alice in Wonderland and Spy Kids" she said "You can which on and might need to teach you how to read at some point" she muttered.

"What to those words mean?" Zack asked. He flipped the DVD case cover looking at both sides. He had a puzzled expression on his face. "What do these rectangles do? Do people of your planet use them for education?"

Keita had forgotten he wasn't humans and began to explain everything to him what their uses were and how things worked. "your planet really must be different" she said and then thought for a moment before she began teaching him how to read a little as well. "The rectangle your referring to I think is the TV, books…" she showed him a book "can have stories or facts in them, those are DVD's they hold moving images that tell a story" she explained.

"That is brilliant." He studied the DVD case. "This thin rectangle contains a story? Why is it so much thinner the the things you call books? Will you show me how these things work?"

She opened the DVD case and showed him the disk "No, this contains the story but they can be easily scratched and damaged which can affect how well it works" she said to him and put one on. "Also a lot of books aren't converted into DVD's" she explained and showed him who to get the DVD working, "you can understand the speech ok right?" she asked him.
