[IC] Saving the Earth

Early April 1, 2014 millions upon millions of spaceships appeared in the skies above earth. Many humans called the police and the national guard. But being April 1 the calls be dismissed. That is until the ships began shooting at buildings. All around the world millions of humans were killed within hours. Now most the cities have been destroyed. However there are a few cities that still stand. That are still fighting to survive. These cities belong to humans that have been strong enough so far to defend their cities against these alien invaders.

Day 0

Igor was sitting on the ground and playing with small, yellow ball. There was a boredom in the prison. Nothing ineresting to do. He couldn't beat some guys on the street or play basketball with his friends. He could only siting on the floor, and thinking about his life. Because the rest of his life he will spend here. But in this moment one ofthe wall in his cell exploded, and he saw the city in flames. Everything was burning, and on the sky he saw a lot of strange objects. Starships? Is that a joke? - He thought. But now he had to find a way to escape he prison. The doors to his cell was destroyed so he could leave his cell without any problems. The hall was actually empty. He was the lucky one. Other prisoners were in their cells. There were no guardians here. Probably they run away when aliens attacked. So he went to the exit. When he was outdoor he wasn't sure if he want to escape from the prison. Everywhere was a lot of dead bodies. But he had to find good place to hide. He took a pistol from one of dead guardians and escape the prison.

Next days after invasion

A few next days he was trying to live in the ruins of this city. But what was too hard. So he took some food to his backpack and went to the cities which were not defeated yet. He heard about this cities from one guy he met the second day after invasion. Now he had to arrive to the closest one. It wasn't too far. Only 10 miles. He went on foot. The travel lasted few days. He had to be very carefull because of aliens. He met few and they are difficult enemies. But when he arrived to the city he was very happy. These few days were a hell for him and now he will have some time to rest.

Present day

Now he is living in this city. He is fighting with aliens. He must forget about his criminal past now, because people probably will kill him if he'll do something stupid. Today he works as guardian on the border of city and he is looking for any aliens or refugees.

Day before invasion
Roxy stormed out of her fathers office. She couldn't believe that he was doing this to her. How could he expect her to marry that man. Not only was he twice her age but he was cruel. He even to bother how cruel he was to his women. She refused to be a reward. She was a person not a prize. She didn't know how she was going to get out of this but she was going to find a way. Even if it meant going to the authorities.
Day of the invasion
Roxy couldn't what she was seeing. The sky was filled with alien space ships. The city was nearly destroyed and all Roxy could think was atleast she didn't have to get married today. She gathered as many knives as she could carry and threw a few other supplies and made her way out of town. Maybe if she was in a more rural area she would have a better chance of surviving.
Day 0
She heard rumors that there were cities that had found a way to fight against the invaders. No one knew how long these cities would be able to hold out. But for now they ever standing strong. As long as they were standing strong the people in them stood a chance. So Roxy headed to the nearest city. She would add her meager skills to theirs.

Day before invasion: Sumi went to the forest to collect some herbs, which she uses to create common medicines. As usually she started with camonile, which first she crushed and then mixed with a dandelion. She believes that she strenghtens her spirit by consuming products of nature. When she was done, she decided to take a rest in the garden.
Day of the invasion: Sumi was awaken by the sounds of alien space ships. She was scared, but suddenly she recalled what her grandfather said. "One day, the rivers will run red, and the skies will fall. But you must stay strong. That gave her courage. She took prepared medicines, some clothes and a fan given by her grandmother and left the home. She chosed the way by the forest, as she knew it by heart.
Day 0: On her way Sumi saw an old man lying under a tree. She gave him something to drink. The old man said "Thank you" and fainted. Sumi noticed a small sheet of paper in his pocket. She took it and read "Some cities are still fighting, spread the information and tell everybody alive to gather in that place." Sumi looked at the map and joined the route to the closest city.

Igor had very hard day today. A lot of refugees, short battle with aliens and big battle with refugees. He wanted to kill a lot of this people. I'm sorry but we haven't here apartments. There's a lot of people living on streets, but THESE people are most important of course. Everyone is. There's no God's justice on the world. - Igor was going home and was thinking about it. He was very tired, and he wanted only go to sleep. He was now a better man. His live is now very hard, but he knows that he is doing good things. Soon, when aliens will attack in bigger group probably his live will change again. If he will survive it. But he didn't care about it. In these times is only "today" - not "tommorow".

Roxy entered one of the few standing cities just as the sun started to rise. As she made her way through the rubble filled street Roxy looked for someone who seemed to be in charge. Surely a city that was able to withstood the invasion had some sort of organization to it. As she walked Roxy thought about how the world had changed in a matter of days. She couldn't say that she was a better person, but she did feel like she was doing more with her life now then she had done before the invasion.

Sumi waited before the city until the last alien spaceship crashed on a skyscraper. Then she silently creeped into the city and began to look for somebody in charge of town's defense. Sumi felt that she changed. The last days she spent lonely, with only flora and corpses on her way. She wasn't sure what to do, but she felt that she has to help the remaining survivors with her medicines and other skills.

Day Before the Invasion

Big Boss was smoking a Cuban Cigar it had been a long time he had went to war in Soviet Russia, he had remembered his Mentor said to him in the fields of Dremuchj,"Take this Patriot it is a gun with Infinite ammo, you will need it, for there is only room for.... one.... big.. boss." and he killed her, but still it brought a tear to his eye.

Day of the invasion

Big Boss woke up hearing explosions so he slowly walked to his secret room where his equipment is, he entered a numeric number before a *Whooosh* is heard, he looked into the room and walked into grabbing a bulky spec ops outfit, the outfit was a thick but strong enough material to deflect bullets and small explosions, it was black as was the helmet that came with it. He then grabbed The Patriot fitting it to his first back holster, he then grabbed two .357 magnums and slipped them into his leg holsters and grabbing his favorite Desert Eagle with Extended Magazines, he grabbed his Advanced Assualt Rifle it looked like a Tar 21 he grabbed one last thing his trademark Head bandana.

Day Zero

He was enroute to his sniping spot by car, his whole life was spent in the army. "One more service cant hurt." He said to himself

Roxy was walking through town. No one seemed to be organized. How did the city remain standing while others had fallen? She didn't understand it. She was glad that it stood but she wondered how long it would last.

Igor had today free day. He had to only go to the walls, if aliens attacked. But his friend asked him to do some work for him. He had to make lists of people who are currently in the city. Every new people in the city should go to him today. He was preparing for them some documents. That's the reason, why this city is one of the last standing cities - no one was anonymous here.

Whenever aliens attacked, Sumi hid in an abandoned house. She kept wondering what has happened to its owners, so she began to look for anything unusual. When she was about to give up, she found a note under the bedroom. She began to read it. "If you are reading this, then you probably want to contribute, rather than just hide. Igor has taken lead over the city. We heard that he is looking for people capable of fighting so we joined him. You can find him in the City Hall, use the tunnels. Mark and Mary". "I must help them" - said Sumi.

Roxy was directed to the city walls. Which irated her. She had just come from there. Couldn't they have met her instead of making her retrace her steps. She stormed through the city again back towards the wall. So she could find the person she was suppose to tell that she was in the city.

Sumi quickly found the tunnels she has read about in MM familly. It was pretty calm there. Several roting corpses alongside the tunnel made the way unpleasant but Sumi knew how to handle that. She took a big, green leaf from her bag and made some holes inside so that she could breath through it without having to smell that horrible odour. She encountered a severely wounded boy. She wanted to help him but he passed away. Sumi began to cry. She promised herself that she will not let anyone else die. After taking a rest, she continued her path until she found the exit. She was right below the City Hall.
