Ah sweet sweet I often write stories with the names of my friends in them, and with their personalities at time as well. Besides if ima write a real life apocalypse happening with myself as a character might as well make my group the friends of my life ^^ An I agree wholely wired I am a RE Whore and I love the games!

Lol ya. I noticed too but I figured you had a reason and you roleplay well, better than most so I didn't bring it up.

Yup, they are awesome, and yes you did. :D Chris Redfield and Claire Redfield are brother and sister and they both feature in multiple games throughout the series. The game series is also about zombies, in case you haven't heard of it. Luckily your man doesn't look like he could be Mr Universe quite yet so the similarities aren't too overwhelming, lol.

Lol. Honestly Chris is my name and Claire is the name of my girlfriend's sister XD

Then I changed Claire's personality to be like my friend Nikki, who's more like a little sister to me. So honestly Chris is essentially me, mixed with one of my best friends. And the last name was the last name of the closest person I had to a grandfather since mine were both dead before I was born.

And there's part of my life in a nutshell for all of you to read ^_^

I find that quite interesting, and I can also agree with your method I always put a little bit on myself into characters, Nero's intellect his quotes he uses (my latest post a good example) his wisdom are all traits in which I possess in real life. My entire concept for Nero was actually inspired by one of my favorite artists Luciano Pavarotti and Italian Tenor and one of the best of his age before he passed, because of him I enjoy Italy and Italian culture therefore Nero is from Italy originally and his name reflects that. I would guess the major difference between me and Nero is I am only 21 lol.

Woah, glad I'm not the only one who does this haha. I'll admit I made Jack a lot more like myself than I usually do with my characters (my original character for this RP, Desmond, was about 10% me and 90% how I wanted to be most of the time). It seems.. Comfortable when your character has a bit of you in their personality. Not like an autobiography, which at times can seem awkward. But it gives you a lot more insight into the mind of the character. Now conversely, when I had the character Jackson around (primary antagonist in Northwards Part II on the old site) it was almost the exact opposite. The character was nothing like me, therefore I felt I could take my normal reactions in the scenario I put him in, and do the opposite.

When i started roleplaying, I based a lot of my characters' personalities off my own too. It just made it easier for me to put myself in their shoes and write what they'd do in a given situation. Now I like to experiment with different things, different characters and their likes and dislikes. Playing Clover right now as a young teen because I find it easier to develop a character while their young as opposed to Carter who has already developed his own image. That way I can play events off of her to shape who I'd like to see her become. But like mentioned above, it's a little harder to write out how they react to certain things and it's one of the reasons I tend to miss small details... like having Clover stand facing Carter while holding up Ryan. Looking back on that post, it probably wasn't the smartest way to go.

Haha, yeah. Well I got my post up! And it is fun to try out new personalities. In a way I see it through their eyes, like I'm actually there. My eyes are actually screwed up due to a disease I was born with so they're always fuzzy, so imagining things has always been easy for me. Almost a second nature to see things that aren't real, almost like visions. It's kinda annoying when I don't mean to do it, but it helps me connect with people so much easier, and it also helps me with seeing all of this perfectly. Sometimes the things you are cursed with are the things you eventually become eternally grateful for.

Hey, my guy is just a marine trying to survive. No blame with that.

Yeah except that your "Marine" is wearing an ARMY Combat Uniform. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot ghost rider? Also, M1911s are only issued to Force Recon. If your guy was a USMC Military Policeman (as I expect he was given his equipment) he would have an M9. Clearly, you need more research.

Furthermore, you can't just say "Miliary Personnel" either put research into your character and portray him realistically or play a civilian. I am very picky when it comes to military characters.

And then there's Shelton going up the middle burning the bad 'Marine' CS (Which I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw the flaws, and appreciate when people are accurate since my sister served in the Marines till she got medically discharged as a wounded warrior)

I try to stay away from military characters. My brother was a rifleman for four years but I don't have a clue about it really and I think it's a little too easy to get caught up in clichés and such if you don't know your stuff properly. I'll stick to dudes who had to learn as the end was happening for now, I may play a soldier at some point, but I'd have to do quite a bit of research first.

I based my character of myself and my father, did some research on USSR military in Cold War, slapped on my name and a common lastname. Good to go.

Was a little more serious than that, but i pretty much summed it up.
