I honestly think it's a great treaty. Quite seismic really. I was surprised there wasn't more of a reaction when it was posted IC :P

Basically...for all of the non-signatories...if you start a war in Europe expect all the signatories to kick your ass. War on the continent is -prohibited-

Does Schleswig-Holstein include the southern border of Denmark?

When you placed dashes on prohibited, are you trying to italicize it? Because you need to use [*i][/*i] (without *). Just was wondering what was going on.

Why did France surrender Alsace-Lorraine to the Germans? That area was carved out of France in the Franco-Prussian war, so it shouldn't even exist as a region yet, let alone be being given off to the German Confederation.

It doesn't quite make sense, no, but Prussia wanted the German Confederation to have the German-speaking region that is Alsace and the former Duchy of Lorraine. Since we're using a map with preexisting divisions, the territory that would have been transferred would be Alsace-Lorraine in all but name.

Because Prussia was unwilling to sign away the use of its prodigious army without precluding a very likely scenario in which it would have no other recourse but to employ it, namely, a scenario in which France or Denmark violates the rights of ethnic Germans.

In Re Schleswig-Holstein, it would not involve the southern border of Denmark. The duchies are independent whose duke is the King of Denmark according to the treaty which ended the first war about this question.

Sorry for the double post, but wait, let me see if I understand this. On Outcast's map, are you only asking for the pink, blue, and orange territories south of Denmark and leaving the bottom two purple-red (whatever you would call Denmark's color) alone?

No. It is a legal point I was making. Technically the southern part of the Jutland Peninsula, the duchies to which I refer, are not part of the Kingdom of Denmark even though on the map they are Danish because their duke is the King of Denmark. Hence, Prussia's response to your question IC is "No, it will not alter the southern border of the Kingdom of Denmark"
