Kai shrugged a little, “Did you never hear rumours flying around while you were getting pampered up to the realms of beyond? There are so many things the Elites do behind our backs that you don’t think they live a luxurious life just under that of the King? We all know the King has a massive complex of luxurious spa treatment”. There had always been hope of a better life in the lowest of ranks and when it came to imagining what the highest class got up to it was always something that was well over the top and just believable enough to be true. Thinking all too greatly about what it meant to be free, Kai almost forgot what they were supposed to be doing as his attention went back to Takeshi.

“Huh, a party? Over what? It’s not the King’s birthday”, Kai sighed, scratching his head, “I don’t know why you’d think they’d invite you to a party anyway after all the trouble you’ve caused us by dragging us out to this side of the galaxy, anyway”. These thoughts they were having were getting quite out of hand when they should had been thinking about solving this mystery and finding where the crew had gone before they ended up finding a bunch of corpses which would leave this ship a waste of a time to conquer; they wanted to feel at home in the ship, not be reminded of the constant stench of death.

“You know, if we do get this ship, we’ll have so many supplies to ourselves, right?” Choi spoke up, scratching his stomach, “Even if they didn’t fill the stock completely, we easily could and that cold storage could feed an entire army of Saiyans. This place even has training rooms big enough to fit a Kardashkar beast in it…with interchangeable gravity, self-repair and simulations…man, who’d think we’d take over a flying military base, huh? Even if the beds are kinda crappy…”

“Choi, we can think about that stuff later; we’re almost at the control room”, Kai spoke, looking up and down the corridor, “Anybody feel anything yet? It’s as if there’s something faint, but doesn’t feel like a warrior…think there could be workers still? Think we can take them for ourselves…?” If they could get some specialists on board it would definitely make their ride a lot easier than having a few of them running around such a large ship trying to keep everything in top order, even if the ship would self-repair itself in time. A place like this needed to be kept in check and having some extra people on board willing to travel the galaxy with them in rebellion and for freedom would had been handy.

Viral definitely didn’t like what he was picking up in this place, as if it was that energy that could disable him all over again. The Saiyans had that technology and it was definitely something he despised, his recently regenerated stomach twisting at the thought of it being used in a place like this. If he was getting that feeling in a Saiyan vessel then that couldn’t had been a good thing, even if it was possibly not entirely the same but very close to being so. Looking out the main screen as the hangar closed, he let out a sigh before his attention went to Yumi, an eyebrow raising briefly.

“Why would I tell you where to go without me looking first? I don’t want you getting hurt, nor am I afraid of it”, he spoke, feeling a little agitated already. With Vegeta practically giving orders in his ear through the scouter, Viral grumbled a little as he made his way out of the ship, he looked back as T’charrl picked up Shu out of his chair and decided to wait until Yumi had moved forward as well. It was a little rough, but if they could keep together here then maybe the strange feeling he was getting would go once he was out of the squashed space that was the little ship. Letting out a sigh, he pressed his scouter, looking into Vegeta’s direction, “I can go look for another console somewhere. There shouldn’t be one too far from here in the engine rooms most likely”.

"Look, guys, if there was any pampering done then I was left out of it, just saying." Takeshi raised his hands defensively, giving a shake of his head. "My father had all the luxuries you could dream of, sure, and his favorite warriors probably did too. I didn't see anything much better than what you had."

Really for his status as a "Prince" he'd more or less lived as a common soldier. His personal room had been fairly nice, he'd admit, but even with what was there it had all been just the essentials, just of higher quality. Takeshi had eaten with the rest, trained with the rest, and went on missions just as any other soldier would. Whereas Elites were sent with entire detachments of troops on missions and made to oversee them he only had a squad given to him, presumably to keep him in check. Well a lot of good that had done, they'd turned coat just as quickly as he had. Nah, commodities and luxuries couldn't be the reason Elites stayed loyal to the king, albeit they did get marginally better treatment from him personally than the rest. They just lived long enough to be given a higher position and were wise enough not to try and cross Yamate. For all their power, Takeshi mused, even the Elite Saiyans were serving out of fear. Collectively though he had to wonder if they'd be able to take the king down. Just what was the full extent of his father's power anyways?

"Wha... It was a figure of speech!" Takeshi snapped, looking back at Kai and crossing his arms. "Believe me, I don't expect to be on their invite list for parties, and I wouldn't want to go to one anyways," he continued, shaking his head before grimacing. "Ever been in a room full of Elites not on a mission? They're loud, obnoxious, crude, and they drink... A lot. Nope, I don't want any of that."

Kabocha rolled his eyes at Choi's eccentric attitude, even if he was sharing in his partner's excitement. Really this thing was a flying fortress, taking over something of this magnitude would see them set for quite a long while. People could live on this thing for goodness sake, and apart from staring at bleached white walls all day it really wouldn't be a bad place to call home. Electric lights didn't beat feeling the sun, or suns, beating down on you though. Sooner or later they'd want to find a planet to call home once more and settle down there, somewhere that felt like a proper place to settle. Until they decided where that planet was this would definitely make due. Once they had finally commandeered it and gotten on there way he'd likely be right there with Choi, scouring the vessel for anything that they can use, for entertainment or otherwise.

"Nah... Nothing yet..." Kabocha said, frowning as he shook his head. "Can't be the ship anymore, we're inside, it doesn't block Ki from being picked up here. Could something else be blocking it then?" Interference wasn't really something they encountered all too often, with Kaesstra being only one exception. That had been due to the strange energy being blasted into the sky, it masked Ki in most places, it had been a miracle they'd tracked down Yumi at all. Nothing like that should be onboard the ship, there was no reason to have something that would do it. "I'm starting to get a funny feeling guys..."

Takeshi couldn't pick up anything either as much as he tried to. The only energies he sensed were those of his friends, nothing else beyond that. If the entire crew really was inside the space station then why was everything on the ship still left on? It was beginning to seem awfully suspicious onboard this vessel, something was definitely amiss and Kabocha rather quickly pointed it out. What in the world could possibly make an entire crew vanish from a Saiyan warship though? Maybe they hadn't even vanished, not in the literal sense. It could be very possible too that they had just up and abandoned their ship, but even then that just served to confuse Takeshi even more. Wracking his brain for possible explanations he began to come to a stop as they finally reached the bridge, a large semi-circular red door separating the main corridor from the control room. It was locked, of course, as indicated by the red hue on the keypad on the wall.

"Damn it... Anyone got the combination?" Takeshi asked, looking back at his squad hopefully.

"I know how to fight, you know," Yumi pouted, crossing her arms like a child. Sighing softly then she gave Viral a smile, moving her hands onto her hips. "But fine, I'll let you handle it. Someone's got to stay back and keep the parents in line anyways." She hardly sounded enthusiastic about that task, but it had to be done. The last thing they needed was one of the older Saiyans wandering off and getting into trouble. It sounded like the Beastman had his own tasks to worry about anyways, no use in keeping him from those. Rather halfhearted in her excitement Yumi went into the main section of their craft, looking between the parents and clapping her hands to rouse their attention.

"Come on everyone, we're getting out of here! So up and at them!" she shouted, watching Kabocha's father jump, roused from a nap. Walking to the wall she slammed down a button, opening up the rear hatch so that everyone could climb out. Smiling over at Shu and T'charrl she gave a small thumbs up. "You two go play or something, we'll let you know if we need anything, fair?"

"Good, thank you Viral. The closer I can get to the mainframe the quicker I can get this ship under our control." Vegeta replied. "I'll come with you, to a certain point, then we can split up. I'm not getting a whole lot done up here really."

The most he had managed to access as far as systems went was the hangar and the adjacent corridor, which was only about 20 meters long. It was just a service tunnel, and the only thing he could get a hold of there were fire extinguishers and the lights, not exactly full control. Making it a fair point to close down the panel he had been working with he added a little something of his own to it, a binary password to deny anyone else access. Might as well put the safety measures in now. After that he walked right on out of the control room, taking his time to come down the stairs to meet Viral. His hand went back up to his scouter again, watching as Yumi led the parents out of the craft.

"Yumi? Viral and I are going to head out and look for other panels, think you'll be okay here in the mean time?"

"Seriously, you've got to ask?" Yumi replied, shouting across the room at Vegeta rather than use her scouter. Scowling at her friend she gestured to the parents, giving Vegeta a curious look. "Nothing I can't handle, computer geek. Go ahead and do your thing, I'll babysit in these folks. Just try not ejecting us into space accidentally."

Vegeta smiled meekly, knowing he had inadvertently insulted Yumi by asking that question. "Yeah... Uh... I'll be sure not to do that," he mumbled, embarrassed by getting snapped at like that.

Kai gave Takeshi a suspicious look, wondering if he was lying or he just never did check any of it out just because he was too busy being broody and miserable. It would definitely be something to find these little hidden luxury rooms the King had dotted around and whether Elites really did get special treatment, but maybe it would also be good to go to the planets the traditions originated from and be happy there instead. It would be a good life to lead, being pampered and knowing where to pamper yourself too, “Favourite warriors i.e. the Elites”, he sighed, rubbing his chest, “We should travel to a planet with springs, though…”

Maybe this was what freedom felt like; all this longing coming true and the thought of being able to travel to get there would definitely be more for fun rather than work. If they all could catch a break without any of them being chased or sick then going somewhere would be pretty cool, maybe even make some money along the way and be able to keep this ship for themselves and spruce it up with mirrors to hide it or something. If they got fed up with it and wanted a smaller vessel, they could always sell this one and get a luxury cruiser for after the war when they had finally beaten down the King.

Choi was definitely having some good thoughts with this and knowing about it all while never being able to lay his hands on any of it was definitely the biggest plus to his desire to own this ship. Letting out a sigh he quickly looked back to Takeshi, tilting his head a little before smirking, “So that means they are not having a party since we can’t hear them, huh?” he spoke, shrugging a little, “Think there will be drink still on here? We never did get to taste the alcohol, too young and all…”

The lack of detection was definitely unsettling, the fact they were wandering through corridors that were essentially deserted was even worse. The little energy signals meant the others had made it onto the ship and were getting settled, but it was far from settled right now and they should had been on their toes too. Looking around with concern, Kai gave Kabocha a quick glance before he nodded, frowning, “This is even worse than the planet that had all those silent staring aliens…with those creepy big eyes and no visible facial features. At least they spoke, eventually…”

As they approached the locked door, the pad on the side indicated that the door was locked; meaning Vegeta still hadn’t hacked into the system and released the doors. It was a little bit of an annoyance, but it would be something they’d have to put up with until they knew how to open it without damaging it. Looking to Takeshi, Kai sighed and slowly rubbed his head, “Of course not, only those allowed in there could open the door”, he sighed approaching the keypad, “The most we can do is what anybody would do”. Raising his hand he quickly banged his fist against the door, knocking a few times, “Hey! Anybody in there?? We have the Prince!”

With the call to get up and going again, the twin’s father got up feeling fairly groggy but exiting the vehicle nonetheless. With T’charrl holding Shu in his arms, he slowly crawled his way out of the little ship and stretched out, letting out a sigh as he fluttered his wings, “Oww…I wish I could shrink down again”, he sighed, stretching out his back. Looking to Yumi, he smiled a little at her suggestion before he shook his head, “I don’t think I could play, too nervous”, he spoke, looking around at the interior of the ship, “This is amazing, though…who would think you could live in space…”

Heading on out of the ship, Viral continued onward with Vegeta getting his back end down to where he was if after a brief shouting from Yumi. It was going to be a pretty tense walk to the engine room, he didn’t even know if there were people still out there who were ready to ambush them. The room would be on the lower decking of the ship, but it wasn’t too far if he could remember where to find it on ships like this. Giving a look to Yumi before back to Vegeta, he sighed before walking towards the corridor with the thought to get it over and done with as soon as possible, “When we get there, do it as soon as possible”, he spoke, not even turning to look at Vegeta, “The engine room should have a panel that connects directly to the main system for obvious reasons…”

"Oooooh, a planet with some hot springs... And some hot girls!" Kabocha mused, grinning as he though about it. There had to be some nice, paradise like world somewhere in the universe. Looking at Choi amused he gave a shake of his head, walking over and patting the boy on the back. "And trust me, you're not missing anything about alcohol. It tastes horrible, makes you feel bad and smells funny. My old man drinks a lot, I've grown up around it and had it. Believe me, stick to juice or water or something man."

Besides, unless they were not actually on their way to some fight it was a bad idea to drink anyways. Especially now, considering they were more or less on the run until the war was over they couldn't well afford to be inhibited in any way. Maybe they'd have a few celebratory drinks once everything was over, just for the occasion. Other than that Kabocha couldn't see himself going anywhere near alcohol willingly.

"Oh! I know right? Those people were freakin' weird..." Kabocha shuddered, remembering the big eyed aliens. T'charrl's eyes weren't nearly as large as theirs had been, and his were pretty big. Being tall, lanky and showing no expressions it had been darn difficult not to blast them away just out of fright alone. That was one world he definitely would mind never going back to again. If the king felt like attacking it, as bad as it was to say, he'd welcome it. Those people were the things of nightmare. "They weren't the worst though. Remember that planet with those weird people that wore the flashy clothes? Ever see what was under those clothes...?" Kabocha shuddered again, frowning as he grabbed his own arms, feeling goosebumps. "You could see their insides man... And their organs and everything... Eck...!"

"Okay okay, enough, sheesh." Takeshi felt his own skin crawling now, shifting uncomfortably in his spot. He knew about the big eyed aliens, it had been one of their first missions. He'd forgotten about them right up until now, and thanks to Choi bringing it up it was fresh in his mind once more. Shaking his head uncomfortably he went back to inspecting the lock, debating on whether or not to try a few random codes in order to get the door open. Just as he began to press the first few buttons Kai shouted through the door, making him freeze and look at the other boy in disbelief.

Well, it was one way to go about things. Kai took the initiative and started knocking against the door, the sound of the metal being struck resounding through the otherwise silent ship. For a vessel that held upwards of one hundred people it was definitely unusually silent, this wasn't helping either. At first it seemed like the knocking was a moot effort, no immediate reply came, not a voice nor any noise on the other side. After a few silent moments though the sound of scraping chairs could be heard, and faint murmurs of people arguing with one another. Finally someone came to the door, albeit they didn't open it, just standing on the other side.

"W-Who is it? Is that you, K-Kai?" the voice called uneasily, obvious tremors in its tone.

"Yeah, and Kabocha and Choi! We've got the Prince, so you gonna open up or what?" Kabocha called, slamming the door with his fist as well. "Come on, let us in. We've got a prisoner." Sighing he stepped back, putting his hands on his hips and staring at the door intently. At last they were opened, revealing on the other side a rather disheveled engineer and his coworkers. They were all hidden at the far end of the bridge, and immediately at the door were several objects that had been piled as an impromptu barrier. What for though Kabocha couldn't say. "What in the hell are you doing in here? And what's with the mess?"

"We're sorry, sirs! B-but we had to do it!" the engineer stammered, bowing his head quickly. "I-it's the only safe place from-"

"From the monster!" another one shouted, poking his head up just over one of the consoles. "We d-don't know where it c-came from... B-But it started attacking us while w-we were working! Did you s-see it!?"

Yumi smiled cheerfully enough, glad to at least have T'charrl and Shu with her. If she had been stuck with just the parents she very well may go mental. The Kaesstrian showed earnest amazement for the ship, which while it was impressive it wasn't anything they hadn't seen before. Of course she said that now, they'd only been in the hangar so far, the vessel was clearly much larger than just this section. Hopefully the sweep was finished soon, she could really use a shower. "I wouldn't want to, honestly," Yumi said, shrugging her shoulders and looking about the room. "It's neat, but it's just not the same of being on a planet. There's no real sun, and you don't get to feel the wind or anything. Plus all the smells..." It would do for now, but already she couldn't wait to get her feet on solid ground.

"Agreed, I don't plan on taking any longer than needed." The longer they kept docked onto the station the more likely the soldiers were to return onboard. It was in their best interest then to get out of here as soon as possible, and that all depended on how efficient Vegeta was. Looking down the hall in each direction he mentally pictured the vessel from the outside, trying to gather his bearings at which direction the engines had been. The ship's bridge was pointed to the right as they flew in, meaning the rear and the engines were to the left. Heading in that direction then he smiled faintly, removing his scouter and pocketing it carefully. "Unless it's an emergency radio silence might be a good idea, just so we're not picked up by anyone on accident."

Choi was feeling pretty enthusiastic about the idea of freedom now and being able to go around and see all of these places, grinning a little at the thought of meeting some hot girls along the way, “Man, this freedom stuff sounds better each time! I bet there’s a resort somewhere for people like us…” he sighed, rubbing his hands together. Looking to Kabocha on the subject of drink, he frowned a little before sighing, giving a little shrug, “I guess! Just sounds like it might be fun if people drink it at parties all the time…”

Choi didn’t know what the problem was but he was going to trust Kabocha and see if he truly was right if he ever encountered some and someone drinking it. Having parties and celebrations were definitely out of his league so he’d probably never be able to know what it is like. Letting out a sigh, he looked back to Kabocha when he talked about the various aliens they had met, grinning a little at his responses. The creepy aliens were probably the worst, but definitely what made them absolutely eerie was the fact that they spoke telepathically and hearing their voices inside his head was just beyond scary.

Snickering, when Takeshi protested he looked to him and frowned only to change that frown into a smirk again, “Ohh c’mon, it’s not like you saw them naked…did you?” he asked him, staring into his eyes, “Did you go off with Kabocha and look under their clothes…?” It was certainly fun teasing each other, but they had a job to do and that job was to get the door open and hopefully find out what was going on and see if there really was anybody left.

Kai listened out for anything that could had been beyond the door, his eyes looking back to the others with doubt that there was actually someone there; however, soon enough there was noise from beyond with definitely people inside and alive for once, his ear going to the door as he listened out to who was on the other side. The person on the other side definitely sounded uneasy, his eyes going to Kabocha who proceeded to slam his fist against the door making him pull back and give his ear a sorely rub. Glaring at him for a moment, his eyes went back to the door before giving Takeshi a quick look at the news.

So there was some monster on the ship, but however it got on board was definitely a mystery right now and Kai had a feeling that they weren’t going to get told where it came from or how it got there. Looking into the room and staring at the mess within, he frowned a little before speaking sternly, “We haven’t seen anything! But where’s the rest of the crew?? Did they flee this monster? Why is the Commander not here protecting the ship??”

T’charrl gently put Shu down, smiling at him as he let him stand on his own two feet while he kept a hold of his shoulder so he could keep his balance. Technology was amazing, his planet weren’t even close to building something like this or even being able to create an artificial environment. The gravity was a little heavier here than back on his home planet, but he could have to get used to that and strengthen his wings if he ever hoped to fly on planets with gravity like this if it was the norm. Slowly looking around, his eyes soon shot to Yumi as she spoke, tilting his head slightly in response to what she was saying. He guessed those things were a factor, but to him being able to travel from planet to planet was probably the biggest thing for him, “I guess so, but…just imagine where you could go! Well I mean, I’m sure you’ve been to many places before, perhaps…? It must be exciting to travel…”

Viral just hoped that everything could be done quickly, he didn’t doubt Vegeta for a minute but he did wonder how fast he could work under pressure. Continuing his way down the hall, he followed along at Vegeta’s side as his eyes searched the area, just trying to find out if there was anything out there that could show any signs of a possible struggle in regards to where everyone had gone. Looking back to Vegeta, he gave a short nod and took off his own scouter, clipping it to his belt instead, “It’d be a surprise if there was anybody else on here. I can’t make out any possibility that they are still on this ship”, he spoke, growling a little as he looked around again, “I don’t like this…there’s something wrong, I can sense it…”

"Oh shut up Choi, we didn't WANT to see them like that, we just stumbled across them." Takeshi and Kabocha had been out scouting when they came across the natives, and were shocked to find that a good portion of their body, for whatever reason, was translucent. He'd nearly lost his lunch right then and there, definitely one of the more disgusting things he had ever seen. Rolling his eyes the Saiyan looked back to the door, waiting for some kind of reply from the other room. Both Kai and Kabocha made it a point to get the attention of whoever might be inside, and even so it took a few seconds for someone to reply. When an answer finally did come it was in a rather meek voice, definitely not the commander and probably not a soldier even.

As the doors opened Takeshi was puzzled to see a small, blue frog-like alien stood before them. Yep, definitely not even remotely a fighter. His yellow jumpsuit designated him as an engineer, probably the head engineer judging by how old he looked to be. Beyond him and the clutter at the door there were a few other engineers as well, two equipped with blasters and the rest unarmed, all looking positively spooked out of their mind. On an unspoken cue the alien revealed to them the reason they were hiding, and it was met with immediate skepticism from the Prince. A monster? There were plenty of strange things that they had seen in their travels of space, but nothing they might label as a monster persay. Whatever it was had these people near soiling themselves in fright though.

"Uh... They're all o-off the ship sir! They left to erm... Well we really don't know..." the engineer replied, shirking back slightly as he wrung his hands together nervously. "The Commander is off as well... Only us e-engineers were left to repair the ship. We just got back from a r-raid you see, and they must have g-gone to celebrate..." Oh dear, this wasn't good at all. Now he had some angry Saiyans bearing down on him and he couldn't well give them the answers they'd like. Would it be better, he wondered, to have the monster here as opposed to these kids. The engineer nearly shrieked in fright when he saw Takeshi coming towards him, tensing up as he raised his shoulders and closed his eyes, expecting to be hit. Instead he felt a hand pat his head, looking up utterly confused at the Prince.

"Hey, don't sweat it, we'll find this thing and deal with it." Takeshi smiled as he looked back at his squad, gesturing over his shoulder with his thumb to the engineers. "We know they're here now, so let's deal with this thing before we go off." Noting the angry look on Kabocha's face he gave the other Saiyan an earnestly puzzled expression, tilting his head to the side a bit. "What...?"

"You moron, you're supposed to be our prisoner, remember?!" Kabocha snapped, stomping a foot and throwing his hands up in the air. "Gah... What prisoner walks around freely and chats with people?" It was only engineers, but what was keeping them from telling the soldiers what was happening? Now they had a bunch of liabilities that could make this thing a ton more difficult than it had to be.

"Relax, you're acting like I just sold us out. Besides..." Takeshi turned, smiling down at the frogman and putting his hands on his hips, leaning down to come to eye level. "This little guy won't tell anyone, right? I bet they'll even agree to join us and help run the ship if we save them from this thing, won't you?"

"Uh... Yes! Y-Yes sir!" the engineer said, smiling nervously as he gave an awkward salute. Turning around he pointed furiously at the other workers, then back at the four Saiyans. "Swear your allegiance to them! We're finally done working for the king!" A unanimous and hearty chorus of voices followed that, the engineers seemed more than willing to default.

"See? Nothing to worry about guys!" Takeshi declared, smiling proudly as he flashed another thumbs up. "Now how about we go kill us a monster?"

"Oh sure, there's been a ton of places..." Yumi began, smiling sheepishly then lifting her shoulders in a shrug. "Well... I've been to a ton of places on Earth anyways. I never really traveled in space before, so I'm pretty new to all of this too. I think we're the only ones here who haven't done this a lot yet, so it'll be an adventure for the both of us." Even if they were going back home they were bound to see at least one or two planets before getting there, and it was a safe bet they'd stop on at least one of them. She was doubtful it'd be quite as pleasant as Kaesstra had been, but they'd be interesting nonetheless. Taking a look over at the parents to make sure they were behaving she saw Kabocha's off to the side, the wife complaining about something and the husband halfheartedly listening to her. The twins' father meanwhile was off by himself, and perhaps could use a little conversation, or some help adjusting to this. Opting herself to lend a hand she excused herself from her friends, going to the Saiyan with a polite smile and her hands tucked behind her back. "Excuse me sir? May I sit with you?"

Vegeta didn't doubt Viral's feelings, even if they weren't mutual. There was clearly something awry on this ship and it wasn't anything that they could readily detect. The Beastman certainly had a unique set of abilities that would enable him to pick up on little things, so they'd have to rely on Viral to figure this one out. It was a good thing that the hangar should be inaccessible now, and Takeshi and the others would be more than safe enough together, meaning that there was no real danger to the others. Depending on how close they got to this wrong feeling it would potentially be them getting into the thick of things. In relative silence the pair continued to work their way along the main corridor, passing by numerous smaller room along the way, but nothing of interest. A few lifts to the next level, a couple of barracks, recreational areas and a few miscellaneous spaces, but not what they were looking for. The engine room should be at the far end of the ship, Vegeta reasoned, probably behind a fair bulky door too for its own protection. Until they saw anything remotely similar to that they'd have to keep looking.

"Viral... That feeling you're getting... Is it getting stronger?" Vegeta asked finally, keeping his eyes fixed on the corridor ahead. At last he was beginning to pick up hints of what his friend had been talking about, he thought he was anyways. Something in this part of the ship just felt... Wrong. Like it shouldn't be here, it was unearthly. Viral could well be talking about that, or it could just be his own mind playing tricks on him. Either way he didn't like it one bit, quite a fair bit unsettled by now. "This can't be a Saiyan we're feeling... It's not like them. It's not a Beastman either, is it? I didn't think you had energies we could feel..."

While it was definitely a little odd to see something like this on a ship, but they were simply engineers and were probably not a threat unless they decided to blow up the ship to take out the monster. The engineers probably weren’t that dumb when looking at them, they should had been smart enough to use their wits even if it meant hiding behind a bunch of objects in the only room that mattered. At least they had managed to find the control room, so that was a plus. Staring down at the cowardly engineers, Kai let out a sigh as he tried to think about what kind of monster could be so stealthy yet obviously have monster-like qualities like being destructive and foul beyond reason.

Hearing that the crew were off the ship was definitely good, it should be a lot easier now to take it while they were all off partying over some job they had managed to complete. They never did talk about each other’s jobs on the ship, most likely because they were either top secret or scouting jobs that seemed high class to some other soldier’s work and would cause anger and jealousy that someone managed to get off easy. Looking to Choi, Kai soon turned back curiously to see what Takeshi was doing, instead getting all friendly with the engineer instead of acting like the prisoner he was supposed to be.

Choi was not having a good time with this at all, knowing that there was a monster on board somewhere and he didn’t know what it looked like or where it could be. It was pretty worrying, there couldn’t be many places left for them to look and hopefully it wasn’t raiding the mess hall. Frowning a little, he stared at Takeshi, watching as he managed to get the aliens to join their crew with the promise of protecting them from some monster. Letting out a sigh, Choi shook his head before turning to look out into the hallway, “How do we even go about finding a monster? What does it look like? Where could it be and how do we kill it without it damaging the ship?”

T’charrl smiled at Yumi, finding it interesting hearing about her own journeys. He had never really travelled much himself, it was more of a precaution considering he was a Prince and was sought after for such a long time. He really enjoyed the thought of going out and about to find whatever he could find that was new and eat new things as well as meet new aliens, “Still sounds great. I barely got to go out of the forest back home”, he spoke, letting out a sigh, “I really hope it’s as wonderful as people make it out to be…” It was definitely curious, but soon enough he would be able to go out and see all these new places and find a way to control his own erratic powers.

The twin’s father didn’t really have anybody to talk to and while his sons were away, all he could do was sit around and wait for them to come back. It had been a strange day, definitely really odd and probably the least bit fun when he had no idea what he was supposed to do now that he had been pulled out of the norm and into this strange setting. Keeping quiet to himself, he was surprised when one of the crew came to talk to him, his eyes darting up to her quickly, “Oh? Uhhh, sure…sure, do what you wish…?”

Viral didn’t really want to go this way, he could tell that it was a bad idea to go this way and something was definitely wrong. There was no Saiyans down here, he’d be able to smell them out if they were here and feel their energy, but there was nothing like that. Looking around slowly as they went, he paid little attention to what was around and rather looking for whatever it was that was bugging him so much to the point that it was heavily interfering with his senses. Keeping his head low as he looked around, he barely realised Vegeta was talking to him until a little further down the corridor.

“Do you not feel that? It’s like a stench…a foul source of corruption nearby”, he spoke lowly, feeling fairly unsettled, “It’s no Beastman…nor is it one of these disgusting soldiers…” He didn’t know how else to describe it, but it was sending a shiver down his spine and making him feel increasingly unsettled and that rarely happened with him. He wanted to kill it, whatever it was or if it even existed. Looking around at first, he soon quickly moved ahead, looking around with his senses focused just incase the strange force tried to attack him, “What is going on...what is this….”

"Wait... You're going to fight that creature? It's n-not normal, you can't!" The engineer was keen on getting out of the king's grasp, but he wouldn't do that if these kids up and died on them. Of course the ship did need to be rid of that foul beast, but losing their only ticket to freedom wasn't the means in which he wanted to go about it. "Perhaps we can lure it out...? And release it into space! Then we wouldn't risk damaging the ship!" That plan would most definitely work. Bring it into the hangar, lower the shields and the vacuum of space would do the rest. Yes, that was ideal!

"And not fight it? Not a chance." Takeshi answered, smiling as he inadvertently crushed the alien's hopes. "Just tell us what it looks like and we'll take care of it, okay? We're pretty strong, I don't think this things going to do us in."

The engineer desperately wanted to change the children's minds but they seemed set in their ways. Arguing with them was only going to delay their fighting it, and possibly cause complications with the troops should they return. "Very well... But we warned you boys!" the alien said, waving a padded finger at them before letting out a lengthy sigh. "The creature is blue in color, and twice as big as any of you. It has blood red eyes, and where its mouth should be is a black pit! Its terribly thick too, we couldn't blast through its skin. Its forearms are absurdly long and there are three fingers at the end of each, and it has enough strength to crush one of these doors with a single blow! Er... Do you really have to go fight it?"

"Either that or it attacks us when we're stealing the ship," Kabocha pointed out, running a hand through his hair before sighing. "Doesn't sound like anything that I've seen before. So a big blue thing... Well, doesn't sound too hard to track down anyways. Even if it is strong something that large is going to have a hell of a time moving in these halls, so we can definitely outmaneuver it. Between the four of us it doesn't stand a chance."

Granted, having the appearance of the beast didn't ensure their finding it anytime soon. It was a big ship after all, and they were at one end of it. They'd have to trek all the way to the other end, scour every single room in order to find this thing. It was a lot of ground to cover for just four people, so it'd probably take a little while.

"We've got this, don't worry about it," Takeshi added, smiling confidently. "You guys stay here, we'll come back when we've dealt with it. Don't open up unless its one of us four, okay? Don't want any soldiers finding out what's going on." Not a lot more needed to be said on the matter, it was all the permission the engineers needed to lock themselves back up. Watching the doors slam shut the Prince exhaled, now figuring that they had to go find whatever this thing was on a wild goose chase. "Best get to work, but first..." Takeshi paused, turning to face his friends with a hopeful smile. "Can we PLEASE find a change of clothes? I'm starting to smell myself now, and I smell like a monkey's rear end."

Yumi wanted to help welcome the parents into the fold, especially if they'd be traveling together for a while. Kabocha's parents though weren't exactly... Approachable. The man wasn't the most welcoming of sorts, he smelled overly of cologne and seemed to be a little crude, judging by how he acted. The woman on the other hand was loud and obnoxious, seeming ready to butt heads with anyone that came her way at any given second. Definitely skipping those two for now. On the other hand Kai and Choi's dad was sat there on a crate by himself, looking fair confused and lonely. She couldn't help but feel bad for the man, he must be utterly confused with all of this. Considering how the twins behaved she figured he did an alright job of raising them, he must be a pretty good guy, even if he was a Saiyan. She'd talk to him then, at least for now. Meeting him at the crate she asked for his permission to join him, curious as to why he seemed surprised by her.

"Just getting your permission to join you, I didn't want to impose," Yumi said as she sat down, smiling politely. "My name is Yumi, by the way, it's nice to meet you sir. I just wanted to check how you're holding up, if you need someone to talk to or anything." She knew perfectly well what it was like to be thrown into a completely alien situation, it was overwhelming and terribly confusing. If she could alleviate any of that then she'd do her best to. "Glad to be free from the king? You get to be with your boys again, that must be nice."

Okay, so that was troubling. Viral couldn't even label what he was picking up, and his only words for it were "foul stench of corruption." Not exactly something you hear everyday. There was definitely something alien about the feeling, or what little of it that he could sense. Maybe the ship was carrying some kind of dangerous cargo and they were experiencing some kind of output from it. Immediately his thoughts went to radioactive material, not the most pleasant thing to imagine. Though in most cases you couldn't exactly feel radiation, it was an invisible substance. It could make you ill, but this sensation wasn't sickening, not in the physical sense. It was like having that feeling you were being watched, or walking down a dark street at night and swearing something was at the other end. One of those where your mind raced and your heart pumped wildly, you felt like you were in imminent danger. Vegeta refused to turn around though, as did Viral, the Beastman quickly picking up the pace and marching down the corridor. Making it a point to stay with his friend the two of them made good progress, covering a fair bit of ground in a quick amount of time. The doors began to thin out, and more and more of them were labelled "storage" or "hatch so and so". Just as they passed another storage room the engine compartment finally came into view. A tall, wide steel plated door right where the two opposing sides of the ship's main corridor met, precisely at the back. A yellow and black stripped paint lined the door, and a few warning signs were placed around designating it as an off limits zone.

Someone was inside of the place though, or some thing. The engines were most certainly off, yet now and again there was a faint clanging sound, or scraping. There was someone on the other side moving around, rather loudly at that. Vegeta gave Viral an uncertain look before moving to the access panel, disappointed to see it was currently locked.

"Give me a few seconds, I'll get us in there..." he mumbled, bringing up the control console.

It was relatively the same interface that he had used in the hangar, though the directories were different and he couldn't find the same file he'd accessed before to breach the security. It made sense, having one singular gateway for the entire ship's systems in every console would make hacking it too simple. There had to be a master panel somewhere, but this definitely wasn't it. Sighing he began to pour through what information he could access, probing where he could into bits to see if he could find anything of use. The door required a password to unlock it, so he either had to find that, or find a way to disengage the locks. After a fair bit of searching he stumbled across a file aptly named "emergency". It didn't take a scientist to guess what that did, and sure enough once he opened the file and activated it the doors began to separate, pulling apart effortlessly and soundlessly. Beyond the doors sat a massive reactor in the middle, a conductor encased in a thick glass with three luminescent coils wrapped around it, and an extensive array of controls and screens built into a base around it. To either side of the room were the engines themselves, accessible by two sets of walkways. The room was relatively empty besides that, the only other things being support beams running across the arced space and up from the floor to the ceiling above. Since he'd initiated the emergency system the room was covered in a red light, though thankfully there was no siren. Whistling softly Vegeta stood at the door, taking a glance about the room beyond them.

"Ready...? Can you pick anything up from here? I'd rather not walk into an ambush if it's all the same."

Kai smirked a little at the words of the engineer, finding it quite amusing that he thought of them as incapable of fighting some monster. They had fought off plenty of terrible things before, it wasn’t unusual to be in amongst all of that and it definitely wasn’t going to stop them from going after something regular people would see as a monter. Luring it to the hanger sounded like an idea, but it wasn’t the one where they could have the most fun and therefore boring, not to mention if it could survive in space then it might end up attaching itself onto some other ship and going off with that.

Looking to Takeshi, it sounded as if he shared the same sentiments while hopefully the other two did too. Kai didn’t think Kabocha would turn down the thought, but Choi was a different matter and he seemed to dislike the idea of monsters and evil creatures of mystery if it meant possibly getting hurt. Looking back to the engineer, he stared at him as he described the strange creature, sounding as if it was something that would be pretty hard to miss.

Choi wasn’t too sure about any of this, especially when they couldn’t even sense where it was because he couldn’t sense its energy anywhere. The biggest success was that there were no soldiers on board with them all having a little celebration over their brutality, but what was even better was the thought that they would get stranded there for their own stupidity. Snickering at the thought, he soon realised they were heading off now and immediately backed off out of the room with his brother.

This all seemed simple enough, so long as everyone else wasn’t in any danger and it also meant there was little problem with communication when they all had scouters. Looking to Takeshi, he tilted his head a little before he snickered, “Heheh, there’s no need to talk about your brother like that”, he muttered before he was slapped across the back of the head by Kai. Rubbing it sorely, he let out a sigh and shrugged, “Ehh well, I guess we should get going to the shower area and fetch some clothes there. It’s to the west of here…”

The twin’s father didn’t get to talk much to people like this, typically because breaks were a rarity and they didn’t really have time to talk to each other. Having Yumi come over to him like this was rather unusual, especially when she didn’t really talk to him before until now. Nodding a little, he looked away for a moment as he rubbed his hands together, “…My name is Daiko, it’s nice to meet someone like you”, he spoke, giving a little shrug, “I’m, uhh…coping fine, as fine as someone pulled from work and taken hundreds of thousands of miles away could be…” This was probably the farthest he had travelled ever; no servant got to travel like this and they had a whole different sector for those who travelled on ships. Giving a quick look back, he stared at her before eventually giving a little nod, “I’m not sure what I do now, though. It is pleasant, but I just wonder if they’re glad to be back with me again for however long they’ll want to be around me for”.

Viral was more concerned with what was making him feel this way and why he was, his mind not quite able to focus on what it could possibly be. There was definitely something, but whatever it was definitely made his senses go funny and his body feel pretty vulnerable. He didn’t like it, he just wanted to get rid of it and find what was causing it. Looking around slowly, he tried to find the source using his more prominent senses. Giving Vegeta a quick look when he spoke, he grumbled before looking away again.

This whole hacking thing was definitely taking a lot of time, but he knew it was necessary and that they shouldn’t just barge into the place. Damaging the ship was definitely not the brightest idea, especially when it meant barging their way into the engine room. Staring at the door, he slowly moved closer to it before suddenly the doors opened revealing the delicate room within. Growling lowly, he looked down to Vegeta before back to the room, narrowing his gaze and gave a nod, “I’m ready. I don’t care if it’s an ambush, so long as it shows itself…” he spoke before heading in first, keeping low as he looked around all the while being ready to attack.

Takeshi was quick to raise a hand and dopeslap Choi, but Kai beat him to the punch. Rude, but he was right, Shu probably did need a bath as well. There would be plenty of time later for everyone to wash up, they couldn't quite be strolling around the ship nonchalantly if there was a monster on board. Frankly the Prince didn't know what to make of these claims, obviously a little bit skeptical. It was more likely than not just some alien stowaway they had never seen before, and considering the only witnesses were engineers and they were hardly fighters themselves. The power of this thing may be slightly exaggerated then. Soon enough they'd find out just how strong it was, but first things first, Takeshi desperately needed to wash up. A lot of good it would do them if this thing could smell him coming a mile away.

"You think those guys were a little spooked?" Kabocha joked, grinning as he sent a glance over his shoulder towards the bridge. "I mean seriously... He looked like he was about to lose his lunch. Some people just aren't cut out for fighting I guess." Some spooky creature comes by and they cry monster, it must stink to be that timid. Personally he couldn't wait to get an eyeful of this creature, just to laugh it off at how overhyped it was.

"Who knows, maybe it will be as nasty as they say? With big, dripping fangs, and piercing eyes, and maybe it makes a nasty shrieking sound!" Takeshi shook his head, smiling amused at the entire idea of a monster onboard. "I'm sorry... But with all the traveling we've done I'm willing to bet that this is just something we haven't seen before. There's been a ton of weird creatures we could say were monsters, yeah? It's got to be one of those cases then. Just a bunch of grease monkeys getting overworked over nothing." If it was real then all the better, they'd have something to fight. So long as they didn't get overzealous and blow it up, along with the ship, things should be fine.

"I'm sure they'll want to spend plenty of time with you!" Yumi smiled brightly, rather sure of herself. How could they not be? Their dad was safe after all this time, and they were free, it was the perfect chance for them to spend some time together. Were she perhaps a bit more nuanced with Saiyan life she'd not be so ready to think this way. "You can do anything you want to now too, anything that comes to mind. We're pretty relaxed as far as things go around here, and we split up responsibilities. Like... Vegeta and I usually cook, though your sons started helping us with that. Takeshi and Shu are normally the ones that hunt, so everyone's got something they contribute. We just try to help one another out, that's all. And no one is going to be making demands of you anymore, that's all in the past now." Strange, she found herself rather talkative all of a sudden. Yumi couldn't quite fathom why, especially since she was talking to a man she didn't know of all things. In most cases she'd be at the far end of the room, but with Daiko she wanted to talk to him. And she thought she found the reason why.

"I'm sorry, I'm rambling." Yumi apologized, smiling sheepishly as she folded her hands in her lap. She had something on the mind and wasn't quite sure how to address it without seeming intrusive, so she just had to ask it outright. Looking at Daiko again she hesitated, not wanting to overstep her boundaries and upset the man. "If you don't mind my asking though... Can you tell me about your sons? I've been curious about them and haven't had a chance to figure out what their story is."

The sound of a satisfying click and locks disengaging told Vegeta he had successfully broken into the engine room. It was a bittersweet triumph with this feeling of uneasiness washing over them at the moment. Looking into the wide room he would be lying if he said he was enthusiastic to go in there. This was definitely the source of that ill feeling, so whatever was causing it was in here. Exchanging a look with Viral he walked on inside, tensing up as they walked into the belly of the beast. The silence that filled the room was unsettling, as whatever had been making the noises just moments ago seemed to have stopped altogether. It was definitely still in here, it had to be, but the question was where? Swallowing nervously Vegeta continued on walking, taking the rightmost walkway and heading up high to get a better view of the space they were in. Scanning the floor around them he couldn't find anything at all, and aside from the feeling they were getting there was no energy to speak of. Just what the hell was in here?

Crawling across the ceiling above a blue beast tracked the movements of the two newcomers. One was a Saiyan, it recognized it immediately by scent, and the other something it wasn't familiar with. Neither knew it was there, it had the element of surprise then. Smiling toothily it rotated its head to look straight down, beginning to follow Viral as he walked. Those pesky engineers had evaded it up until now, and as a result it was terribly hungry. These two... They'd do nicely, at least until there was a way inside the bridge. With a singular goal in mind now of devouring these two the beast stopped as the Beastman did, focusing its ravenous gaze on him. Opening its mouth it let out a low, guttural growl as it prepared to attack, a glob of thick, mucous drool seeping out and dropping down, probably landing on Viral's shoulder. No sooner did the nasty liquid hit him did the creature release itself from the ceiling, retracting its three talon like fingers and dropping down, trying to land right on top of its prey with a shrill shrieking sound.

Rubbing his head slowly, Choi could only contemplate what he was supposed to do with a monster loose and Takeshi wanting to stop off and get changed just to fight something that would probably make him dirty again anyway. He was a little annoying in that way, seeing as how they just had to go and find the monster and give it a good old blast in that apparently nasty void-mouth of it. If he had to change then fine, he could do it so long as he was expecting the monster to possibly be that way too. After all of this, it would definitely be nice to get a good wash, especially when he hadn’t been near any water that he could soak himself in for a few days.

Kai couldn’t really care, he just wanted to get on with it and see what all the fuss was about so they could get this place all to themselves, not unless there were other members of staff somewhere hiding away much like those engineers. He didn’t much care for the staff, they could be on the ship if they wanted to and weren’t going to rat them out to the Saiyans. The ship was large and could carry a lot of people, it didn’t need to be just the bunch of them running around a ship that would take quite a while to lap around at a reasonable speed.

Looking to Takeshi, Kai frowned a little when he described the monster only to let out a sigh as they continued along. It would definitely be some sort of alien from somewhere, but how it got onto the ship would still remain a mystery, “A monster usually implies it’s unnatural and it’s definitely not natural for something with that description to be wandering around a ship like this”, he spoke, shaking his head, “I’m willing to bet it was hiding somehow and has a target, but whoever its target is probably doesn’t matter. It might just be after some easy targets and why it thought a bunch of Saiyans would be easy, hell I don’t know”.

Daiko was finding it hard to understand why Yumi wanted to talk to him, but the fact that she wanted to was definitely pleasant. It was just unusual for someone to talk to a lowly Saiyan like him, he didn’t even have the natural lust for battle that Saiyans generally had and was quite content with simply living. He didn’t know what he would want to do now, so long as he was completely free he would never know what he wanted to do with his life. Being a servant had been his entire life, he wasn’t that old and only really twice the age of the twins, “You cook? Just like them to continue cooking even when they’re soldiers”, he spoke, smiling a little, “It is not always easy deciding what you want to do once you’re free from your old life. It has been a long time and Yamate wasn’t the only King we’ve had”.

He didn’t mind Yumi going on and talking a lot to him, he didn’t have anything else planned and it definitely wasn’t a problem that she wanted to talk to him unless she didn’t want to talk in the first place. She seemed nice enough, certainly much more pleasant than other people he’s come across, “My sons? Well, they were part of an experimental program for unique soldiers since I carry a very rare gene for twins. Saiyan twins are unique; when they fight, they become one mind in two bodies of equal power, so you can see why they’re wanted on the field rather than in the kitchens. It’s no big deal, but got to wonder what goes on inside their heads sometimes”.

Viral was easily pretty tense, especially when he was confronted with an unknown enemy. If there wasn’t the possibility that he could be ambushed at his low power then he probably would had been a lot more confident with this, but all in all he was not and he was feeling a little worried. If he was to fight just now, he would need to be careful and that meant being unable to fight to the end. There was definitely something in here, he could feel it but couldn’t describe just how he could at all. There was just something about this place that screamed ‘enemy’ to him and he didn’t like it.

Watching Vegeta go off to where he needed to be, he sighed and looked around slowly, feeling completely tense yet ready for anything. Something smelled funny in this place, he couldn’t help but wonder just what was making it but it definitely wasn’t the engines. There was an odd air about this place, but with no origin to it in sight he could only stand and wonder what was happening. Growling lowly, he slowly searched around before he took a step back to look up, narrowly missing a thick glob of liquid drip down from the ceiling. With his tension immediately raised, he growled and looked up immediately as a large creature suddenly jumped right on top of him, his knees collapsing under the weight but his claws catching the monster’s own talons.

He knew there was something here, but what that something was he couldn’t tell. He hadn’t seen one before, he didn’t even know how he managed to find it either just with his senses. Growling angrily, he tried to flip it away before it could make a move for his face with a quick kick out to push it away, “So you’re the problem?? I’ll kill you for that!”

"Maybe it's just really stupid?" Kabocha offered, shrugging his shoulders. "I mean... It boarded a ship with all of us on here, and I'm sure some random critter isn't enough to give us any trouble. Thing probably smelled food onboard and came crawling on, just some wild animal. Giving Kai a skeptical look he rolled his eyes then, smiling amused as he shook his head. "Target? You say that like this thing's got any clue what it's doing. The thing is probably purely instinctual, like any old animal. Sure maybe it started out chasing one guy, but it's bound to be pretty dumb. One piece of food is as good as the next."

"It doesn't take something intelligent to kill you though," Takeshi pointed out, checking a few doors that they passed by. After one storage room and another maintenance room they finally found what they were looking for. Thankfully the room wasn't locked, not that he could see a reason why they might lock a room full of clothes and showers. "If it's got fangs and claws it can hurt you. Shu in his Oozaru form is just running on instincts like you said, and he tore my damn tail off," he continued, looking back with a small smile as the door opened. "Still think an animal is harmless?" He doubted that this thing was going to be nearly as dangerous as a rampant Saiyan child though. If it was the ship wouldn't be in one piece still. Once inside the room Takeshi made a b-line right towards one of the lockers, checking inside for some clothes to change into.

"Between the four of us we really don't got to worry about anything shy of my father," Takeshi added, smiling as he pulled out a crimson set of pants and a matching sleeveless top, as well as some typical boots and gloves. Crimson was typically reserved for the higher ranks, meaning he was pretty much raiding an Elite's locker right now. Grinning mischievously at that thought he kicked the door shut, waving his findings around a bit before going around the corner to change. Off came his dirty, worn out clothes and into the garbage they went. He could shower now, but that would take too long. Instead he just slipped on the new set of Saiyan garb, a little miffed he was still wearing the same pair of briefs. Getting dressed hardly took more than a few seconds, and in no time at all he was back out with the others, patting himself down to make sure everything fit.

"Okay then, now that should be better. Shall we go hunting guys?"

"Ooooh, so they're telepathic?" Yumi asked in earnest curiosity. She knew that twins on Earth had an uncanny ability to sort of pick up how the other was feeling, but she'd never thought it went as far as being synchronized in battle. That must be so cool, having someone mirror your moves and work with you without having to utter a single word. Even she and Vegeta or Viral didn't have that kind of chemistry and they had been fighting together for quite some time now. In a way she found herself envious, wishing she could work that well with someone herself. Looking back at Daiko warmly she leaned over, patting his hand gently in a friendly gesture. "Well don't feel rushed into it, I don't want to come across as pressuring you. I mean... You've got all the time in the world now to decide what you want to do with yourself, and so do your sons. There's literally a million possibilities, I can see why that might be a bit overwhelming."

There was a bit more that Yumi wanted to ask, and again she felt like it might be a little inappropriate. Vegeta wasn't here to overhear, and those who were around certainly weren't going to say anything about this, so it was safe enough. Biting her lip for a second she looked at her hands in her lap, rubbing at her left hand with her thumb on her right absentmindedly. "If you don't mind me asking... What can you tell me about Choi...?" she asked, her cheeks turning a faint pink. "Just uh... Out of curiosity, I wanted to know more about him."

Vegeta was fair flustered, not able to spot a single thing that might be the source of this tension. Only so much of the area was accessible on foot, and with no Ki signature he doubted they were flying around. On a whim he decided to walk to the edge of the walkway, leaning over the railing to check under the engines. Half expecting to find something clinging to the underside he couldn't see anything, and the same was true on the other side as well. Wherever this thing was it hid moderately well, either that or he was totally oblivious.

"Viral? Think we might have the wrong room?" Vegeta asked, turning around to look at his friend. Just as he laid eyes on the Beastman he saw a thick substance drip down from the ceiling, landing with a splat on the floor before seeping through the perforated metal plates. Not a second after did a high pitched sound echo through the room, making the Saiyan cover his ears painfully as he tried to track the source. A large blue creature proceeded to fall down from wherever it had been, landing directly on top of Viral. Emitting another shrill shriek it lifted up one of its massive arms, preparing to drive it down onto the trapped Beastman. Vegeta quickly pushed off of the floor, flying across the room to try to help and instead watching as the creature was kicked off easily enough, landing on the ground some fair bit away with a heavy thud. Landing himself at Viral's side he looked down to make sure his friend was alright, looking back then to the beast.

"What the hell is that thing?"

The creature growled again, climbing back onto its feet and slamming its bulky arms down on the walkway. Its red eyes looked between the two fighters before it, trying to decide which should be attacked first as the bigger threat. The Saiyan looked to be much more frightened, and he already knew that the Beastman could strike hard. Opting then to go after Vegeta it emitted a loud roar, slamming its arms once again before barreling forward, trying to pounce on Vegeta. Making a lunge for him it could only snarl angrily as it was easily dodged, landing hard on the floor again and skidding across it, using its talons to stop itself and turn back around. The Saiyan had moved up into the air, annoyingly enough, but the Beastman was still bound to the ground. Its agenda changed on the fly then, and seeing an easier target in Viral once more it bore down on him yet again, rearing up on its hind legs as it got close and swiping at him furiously with both arms.

Kai let out a sigh at Kabocha’s suggestion, finding it a little hard to believe he’d think that, “C’mon man, the thing sneaked onto a ship that’s in space! How do you think it got through space, huh?” he asked before letting out a sigh, shaking his head, “Well whatever. Either it was cargo or it actually managed to get real sneaky and get on the ship through transport and we sure as hell didn’t bring it here. We still have to get rid of it and hopefully be able to continue on this ship without being blasted into space because of it”.

Choi didn’t know what to think of this, it was just something he was completely unprepared for. A monster in space was definitely different to what he had fought before, so it was simply something he was more than a little nervous about. Looking to Takeshi, he snickered at the mention of Shu tearing his tail off, looking back into the corridor just incase there was the monster near them, “Did you just call your brother an animal?” he snickered, watching Takeshi go off to get some clothes, “Then again, your brother seems to have that, umm…’inner beast’ thing going on, huh?”

“Choi, quit it”, Kai sighed, shaking his head before he looked back to Takeshi, “Just don’t do the whole ‘getting cocky’ routine before finding out you’re no match against it and that you really do need our help in the end. I haven’t been able to fight anything proper in ages…and I can’t count fighting against your friend or that General guy as a real fight”. With Takeshi getting some new clothes on and finally not holding them up from killing this monster, he shrugged a little before he walked on towards the door, “Alright, where do you suppose we start looking? This place is huge, it could be anywhere”.

Daiko smiled a little, giving a shrug, “That’s what they assume, but the boys were pulled out of testing when they were young because we were low on staff”, he spoke before he sighed, slowly rubbing his neck, “I guess you could say that, though. Sometimes they’d just stare at each other or talk in their own language when they were young. It was certainly…interesting to see”. It had been a while since he had been with his sons, but they had been enjoying the field more than being cooks judging by how strong they had become since leaving. Lowering his hand, he looked away for a moment before back again, seeing Yumi patting his hand. Staring at her, he slowly lowered his head again as he nodded, letting out a sigh, “I suppose you’re right; I just have to find what I want to do, is all”.

Keeping quiet for a moment as he thought about what he wanted to do with his future and how he might make the money to have one, his eyes soon went back to Yumi as she spoke out again, looking a little flustered compared to earlier. Staring at her for a moment, he sat up straight and stared at her curiously, “Choi…? Ohh I see”, he spoke, smiling a little, “Choi was technically the younger out of the pair and the slower one to start but eventually got the hang of things the more he was with Kai. He was also the…well, loudest out of the pair when they were testing out how twins worked. That didn’t last long, thankfully, and they were put in the kitchen. He was always the first to crack jokes about everything, but Kai was always the one to tell him off before he got into trouble. Kai enjoys playing big brother to him even though they are only a few minutes apart”.

Viral didn’t even register what the creature was by the time it jumped on him, his first concern was simply to get it off him before it managed to injure him. With a strong kick the monster was off him, landing a reasonable bit away from him as he rolled over to get back onto his feet. So it was this that he had sensed this entire time, yet he didn’t know how he managed to or what allowed him to pinpoint its location before it could tear him apart. Looking up to Vegeta, he growled lowly as he pushed himself to his feet, turning to face the beast, “How the hell should I know??”

Watching the creature, he could only analyse it carefully before it made a move once more, deciding to charge straight for them. Viral managed to jump back, landing a fair bit away while Vegeta took to the air instead all the while leaving him on the ground. Looking to the beast, he glared at it as he took a hold of his weapon, grasping its hilt tight, “Just go and hack the system or something! I’ll kill this thing!” he shouted to Vegeta but sure enough the creature was charging straight for him. Standing his ground, he watched the creature while remaining where he was, watching as it reared up and tried to batter him as he managed to unsheathe his blade, only managing to catch one arm with the back of it before he was backhanded by the other arm and sent stumbling. This thing was already proving to be a fair pain, its movements unpredictable as it wailed on him. Managing to recover momentarily, he raced back at the beast, throwing his cleaver down at it to try and score a succession of hits on it and slice it up.

"Come on Kai... Like I'm the only Saiyan that 'gets cocky' now and again," Takeshi said, pulling his shirt down over his head. Taking a look down at himself he smiled slightly, seeing this outfit was awfully reminiscent of what Vegeta wore. He missed his old Gi outfit, maybe he could get another one once they finally returned home. If nothing else though these were at least comfortable, and easy to move in. Tugging the gloves on his hands just for good measure he smiled at Kai, raising an eyebrow and folding his arms across his chest. "If you want to fight so bad I can always trip the alarm to get the soldiers to come running. Oooor... We can always spar later? I'm in the same boat, I just want a good brawl to keep myself practiced."

"How about we find this monster, then you two can kick the crap out of each other all you want." Kabocha wanted to fight too, not sit around like old maids chattering amongst themselves. If this thing was half the beast the engineers made it out to be then they'd have a fun time fighting it, he didn't want to miss out on a moment of that. In regards to Kai's question he shook his head, scratching at his hair in thought. "I couldn't say... Maybe the mess hall? I doubt an animal would kill just for sport, so it's got to be looking for food. If it couldn't find a meal in the crew then maybe it went for the cafe? There's got to be something there, and even if it didn't go there..." he paused, grinning as he rubbed his hands together. "I could REALLY go for some ribs! Or some fried fish! Or maybe a nice big sandwich!"

Takeshi smacked his own forehead, giving Kabocha an exasperated look before walking past him and the twins, right out of the room for them to follow. They were all hungry obviously, but they couldn't well eat just yet. His changing clothes was distraction enough, and all joking aside they really needed to find this thing. They had passengers that really couldn't fight if it showed up elsewhere, so it was in everyone's best interest they deal with it as soon as possible. As Kai had brought up, where did they even begin to look? Takeshi certainly didn't know the layout of this ship, and even if he did that didn't guarantee their finding the monster. Back in the corridor he scratched at his head thoughtfully, looking in the direction of the control room and back down the other way. Safe bet was they didn't have to backtrack, so down the unexplored section it was. Gesturing for the others to follow he started down the corridor, keeping silent and alert for any hints of something being amiss.

Yumi couldn't well imagine having someone like that, someone she could communicate with so effortlessly. It was kind of creepy really, having someone read your thoughts and motions. In the same way it was incredible, it would make her so much better in a battle. After having seen them fight first hand herself she knew they were rather formidable as a pair, and any single combatant would be hard pressed to beat them. She herself was by no means an all powerful opponent, but she was an able enough fighter and yet had still struggled just to keep up with them. Their prowess was so impressive it was a wonder that they had been pulled from training. Had they never been taken out of it and allowed to keep practicing she couldn't imagine their being anything less than Elites by now. For the sake of their budding friendship it was a good thing then they'd been removed, otherwise Kai and Choi would probably end up just like the other Elites they had fought. Frankly it would be a darn shame if they never ended up as friends.

"So he's kind of a goofball then...? Oh, but he seems really nice too..." Yumi mused, smiling sheepishly. In spite of their first meeting she and Choi had gotten on rather well, almost instant friends. Kai was certainly nice too, but they didn't feel nearly as close as she did with his brother. She and Choi had kind of clicked almost instantly, and she couldn't quite place why that was. Maybe his goofy nature offset her more strict overtone? Noting the smile on Daiko's face she blinked a few times, and after drawing an assumption her face reddened in embarrassment. "I-I was just asking because I was curious!" she said quickly, putting her hands up defensively and shaking her head. "He and I are friends, so I wanted to know more about him, that's all!" Well this was a fine mess she had walked herself into. It had come across as too blatant, was that it? Perhaps asking their father about one boy in particular was too transparent of a move. Looking down at her feet awkwardly Yumi shifted about in her spot, rubbing her hands against her pant legs nervously. "Uh... Don't say anything to him? Please? If my friend Vegeta found out or if he did it'd make things really weird..."

The Saiyan proved to be a little too quick to reach, and while the creature was quick in its own right it could not take to the air. The Beastman seemed to share in that deficiency however, making him an ideal prey to chase. Changing its target instantly then the monster let out another roar, barreling down on Viral with all its strength and taking swings to try and take him down and finally get a meal. Its first arm was blocked, but the second managed to knock into the wild man and send him stumbling. Before it could capitalize on its hit Viral was already retorting, coming back with a few fierce swings of his cleaver. The first two missed, but a third one managed to catch itself in the creature's left arm, imbedding itself deep into the muscle of the beast. Roaring out in anger and pain it reeled back, shaking its hulking frame and freeing the blade of itself. The Saiyan was out of reach, and this one was dangerous, neither would be an easy meal. It had to find a way to overpower them, something that could reduce them to a state of helplessness. Putting all fours down again it opened its gaping maw, nothing but darkness where its teeth should be. A small energy mass began to form at its lips, gradually gaining in size, a rainbow of colors amassing into a basketball sized orb before being fired at high speeds.

Vegeta descended the moment he saw energy gathering, worried that Viral didn't have the means to deflect that kind of attack. Planting himself before his friend as the orb came their way he stretched his arms forward and cupped his hands, readying to catch the blast. As soon as it hit there was surprising force behind the blast, sending him skidding back towards Viral in spite of his efforts to hold it back. With no other way to stop it he released a burst of Ki, sending it flying back towards the monster, both energies hitting it head on. The result was a fair explosion that shook the room, miraculously not causing any damage in the process. As the smoke dissipated Vegeta expected to see a ruined beast before them, but instead there was nothing but scorched and twisted metal. Where in the hell did it go? Looking around the room hastily and up at the ceiling he tried to find it, slowly stepping away from Viral with his hands up, ready to strike. How did it vanish like that?

Unbeknownst to Vegeta the creature was most certainly still inside of the room. It was out of sight though, as far as the Saiyan could tell anyways. In truth it had melted down into a rather thin liquid, seeping its very being into the metal that the two fighters now stood on. Slipping through the floor it worked its way over to Viral again, hoping to get a surprise on the Beastman and injure him enough to put him out of the battle. Stopping right beneath Viral the beast slowly lifted its head out of the floor behind him, growling softly as it did so. Just as its head rose up it would also raise its arms out of the floor to either side of the Beastman and attempt to ensnare him, trapping him against the floor. Then he would be at the creature's mercy, and it could easily bite away until it finished him off.

Kai shook his head at Takeshi’s suggestion about Saiyans, “Well no, but you’re the only one here who’d put yourself before absolutely everybody”, he spoke, letting out a sigh, “There’s a thing known as ‘teamwork’ after all, you know?” He would like to fight, especially when the opponent was apparently strong and frightening. Fighting the unknown is what any warrior enjoyed and with this monster being as unknown as it was, the very thought of fighting it was pretty thrilling. Trying to think on where they could go, the thought of a good sparring afterwards did sound pretty nice.

Feeling a little annoyed at Kabocha’s dismissal, Kai let out a huff and folded his arms. He was a little annoyed that he didn’t actually know what the monster was to begin looking for it other than the fact that it was blue and big. If the others had spotted it then they surely would had said across the scouter, but there was no call so there wasn’t something wrong at the hanger’s end. Frowning a little, he looked to Kabocha, letting out an annoyed groan, “Could you keep your mind off food for one mission, please? You’re just making us all hungry with all this food talk”.

“Yeah! Besides, how would a monster even know what a mess hall is? All the food would be in storage too, like it’d be smart enough to open boxes…” Choi commented, shrugging a little as he followed on after Takeshi, “Maybe we can eat the monster after we’ve killed it. You never know, it could be tasty! So long as it’s not poisonous so we don’t feel bloated after it”. It would be interesting to see what the beast was and find its origins, seeing as how they were in the middle of space and they’d be able to find out just where it came from and maybe fight some more to teach them not to mess with an empire, nevermind them.

Daiko didn’t want to say too much about Choi that would give anything away to her, especially if it slipped up in conversation and he got really embarrassed in front of a girl. He was never good at handling girls because they were so foreign to Saiyans when they talked like this girl did, seeing as how they were all warriors and spoke like warriors, not like sociable members of society. If she liked him then that was definitely nice and hopefully Kai didn’t mind, seeing as how it was impossible to split them up permanently; then again, it’d be a case as to whether Kai would mind.

“He acts like a goofball, but he’s really just nervous and trying to be brave like his brother”, Daiko spoke, smiling a little, “I guess you could say they’re opposites but without each other they could never be whole…but that doesn’t stop them from talking to or getting friendly with girls. Kai is a nice lad too; there’s no evil twin in that pair”. She was definitely a little shy herself, it seemed, but that was perfectly fine since he did know how it felt to be shy towards another being. Smirking a little he nodded and looked away, “I won’t say a thing. Choi wouldn’t like it if I hinted that I was talking to you about him, he’d get all flustered and probably won’t be able to sleep”.

Viral held on as his swipe struck the beast, his arm almost popping out of its socket by the time the blade came out. Growling a little as he pulled back, he rubbed his arm slowly as he tried to get a clue to what it might be doing, only to feel the gathering of energy from within its mouth. It would be extremely bad if that energy missed him and hit the machinery, it would probably cause a full meltdown and they’d have to abandon into the ship again and blast off before the systems crashed. Stepping back a little, he could only suss out that he would have to take the blast. Bracing himself, he stared at it before suddenly Vegeta jumped in the way, firing his own attack straight back at it.

Stepping back quickly, he raised his hands as an explosion sounded to block any flying debris. This was bad, if the engine was damaged by that then they were going to have a bad time indeed. Quickly lowering his hands to see what was happening, he spotted the blast impact zone but no creature through the smoke; however, it was definitely still around and he could feel it, “Watch where you’re firing that damn energy!” Viral snapped, feeling agitated already. Looking around quickly, he slowly sheathed his blade again just to give his hands more control just incase it popped out again. Slowly searching around, he stepped back slightly, feeling it fairly close by; however, before he could even make a proper search his eyes darted down the moment its arms popped out of the floor, acting on pure instinct as he jumped suddenly only to drop quickly down and try to furiously scratch it up with his sharp claws.

"I know what teamwork is, excuse me for getting excited during fights." Takeshi quipped, frowning as he lifted his arms and folded them behind his head. "Seriously... Just because I get carried away sometimes doesn't mean I can't work with people. You make it sound like I'm a hopeless lone wolf." He'd made it fair evident he could work with other people he figured, after all he had cooperated with his squad, hadn't he? And he and Shu definitely worked pretty well together he liked to think. Bah, he was getting worked up over nothing, he didn't need to worry about this anyways. Changing the topic to food only served to agitate Takeshi, whose own stomach was already letting him know it was well past lunch time.

"I can't help it if I get hungry guys, and you're all hungry too! I'm just the one to say it." Whatever, they'd eat as soon as this was done with anyways. He could already picture some of the foods that must be in the mess hall, and more precisely the food that the Elite only got to eat. It would all be theirs, some of the most mouth watering delicacies available to Saiyans. Oh just thinking about it now made his mouth water, Kabocha finding it awfully difficult to focus on fighting now. All the more reason to get done with it though, the sooner they beat it the quicker they could sink their teeth into something tasty. Smiling when Choi brought up eating the creature he nodded his own head enthusiastically, quite liking the idea. "Ooooh, yeah! You two and Yumi could cook it up and we could eat it all. If it's half as big as these engineers made it out to be there's going to be a whole lot of meat! Now that you said it I really hope it's edible..."

"And I really hope you guys drop the food conversation," Takeshi interjected, finally defaulting to Kai's side. "All we're doing is making ourselves hungrier talking about it. Let's kick the crap out of this thing and then we can worry about what's going on our plates, deal?" It would be rather helpful if the monster was edible. Considering everyone had left the ship it was safe to assume that there may not be a whole lot in the way of food on board, meaning they'd need some means of stocking up. What little they had on the ship they'd gotten from Sayomi would hardly serve everyone here, let alone just the Saiyans. Off in the distance there was a low rumbling sound, or at least Takeshi thought he heard something. Stopping in his tracks he frowned, listening for anything else following that but unable to pick out anything else. "Did any of you hear that...? Or was it just me?"

Yumi smiled gratefully at Daiko and nodded her head, thankful he'd keep this chat confidential. Maybe she did like Choi, which was odd considering the circumstances that they met. Really she should hate every three of those boys, but they'd come around rather quickly in her eyes. How was she going to explain to everyone else that she might like one of the boys? She worried that Vegeta and Viral would be angry with her, and Kai would be against it. If anyone teased her for it she couldn't really care about that, it was more worrying about upsetting people. Keeping it to herself would just serve to make things harder on herself ultimately, so coming out and saying it would be for the best. If she could get Choi alone later on and bring it up then she'd let the pieces fall where they may and go from there. If he didn't share her feelings or outright rejected her then just as well, she'd rather be turned down then go nuts not knowing.

"He gets flustered really easily..." the Beastman remarked, smiling meekly as he twisted her fingers together. "And... It's kind of cute how he does. I think the reason I like him... Well..." She took pause, shifting around on her seat a little before hiding her face in her hands to cover up her blush. "He just seems more fun than the others. He looks like he would be happy to goof around, and he makes jokes out of things. And... With everything going on it'd be amazing to have someone like that..." They could still be friends like that, Yumi knew that wasn't the only reason she was developing feelings for the Saiyan. Whatever the case it was happening, even if she didn't understand why.

"I'll just let it hit you next time then?" Vegeta retorted, shouting over his shoulder. Looking back at the spot where the monster had been he was disheartened to see utterly no trace of it. Even if it had been blown up there would be a mark or something, evidence that it had indeed been there. Grumbling under his breath the Saiyan walked back over to the spot, glancing around the room constantly to try and spot the beast. Never having dealt with such a creature before he was oblivious as it moved literally right beneath Vegeta's feet, heading directly for Viral.

The creature sprang up from the floor beneath Viral, enveloping him in its broad arms and dragging him down to the ground. With its prey now in its grasp it readied to bite down on him and begin to feed, but had its parade rained on rather quickly. Feeling a sharp pain in its arm the monster growled furiously, trying to tighten its hold on its prey to make it stop fighting. Instead Viral continued to claw away, managing to tear into its arms a fair bit and eventually make it completely release him, unable to sustain its grip. With a nasty snarl it sank back into the floor, retreating for the moment as it tried to recuperate. It couldn't do anything about its wounds, not unless it had food, then its body would regenerate. For its own well being then it needed to get at least one of these two, even just a bite would suffice. From the floor the monster would scale up the wall, and eventually coming to the ceiling where it had begun. Since Viral was already on the ground it went after him yet again, slipping out of the surface and dropping down, aiming its talons directly down at Viral to pierce his body.

Vegeta again managed to stop the worst from happening, flying up and driving a hard shoulder in the monster to knock it off its course. After striking it initially he sped up and flew by it, coming to a stop as he had the wall to his back and the beast flying towards him. Putting his hands together he lifted them up over his head, reeling back and driving his fists and forearms into the monster when it got close enough, spiking it downwards like a volleyball right in Viral's direction. "Viral! Now's your chance!"

Kai wasn’t really much for talking about that kind of stuff and the food talk was definitely distracting, his mind barely able to concentrate on looking for the monster at this point. Giving a look to Takeshi he shrugged, letting out a sigh, “You say that, then you forget about how you acted when you were working with us all those weeks ago before you found your brother”, he spoke, hardly too fussed by the thought of it and was simply saying it to tease him, “No big deal though. You’ll soon learn nobody likes loners and that you’ll want to join the pack as we tear into our foes mercilessly”.

Choi did wonder when they’d end up eating finally, seeing as how they needed to get the ship out of there and make sure it wasn’t sending out signals to the Kingdom before they could feel safe. The King wouldn’t want to damage the ship too much considering it was expensive, but they were still at risk of being attacked and captured by entire fleets. Letting out a sigh, the thought of food quickly consumed him again and he smiled, scratching his stomach, “That’d certainly be something…well; hopefully it’s made of meat and not something like metal! I can’t say I enjoy eating metal at all”, he spoke, shrugging a little, “I gotta say, this whole thing is starting to sound pretty good to me…”

With Takeshi protesting about their talk about food, the whole conversation was probably best to be dropped ending with Choi letting out a sigh. He wasn’t so hungry that he was weak, but the whole talk was definitely making him a whole lot hungrier and was still pretty much having to focus on finding this monster. Giving Kai a quick glance before he looked around, he frowned a little when Takeshi came to a halt, giving him an odd look, “Hear? You sure it wasn’t your stomach?” he asked before snickering, ending with a sigh, “Ahhhh but no seriously, where do you think you heard it? I think I’m still too busy thinking about eating a good meal”.

Daiko was happy that somebody was interested in one of his sons, even if it would end in a friendship. It was hard for Saiyans to make friends, especially ones of pureblood when their senses would often overtake them and feeling love and friendship for another being was rare. It was definitely something found in the lower classed Saiyans and as much as he hated to admit his kids were low class, they had better social skills because of it and would be seen as less brutish. Maybe Kai as well would be able to figure out how to be social too, seeing as how he didn’t hold much trust in others when compared to his brother.

Giving a little nod, Daiko smiled as she struggled to explain her feelings for him. She did sound a little confused, but it was perfectly fine when it was regarding someone like Choi and whether she really had these feelings for him. She seemed pretty happy with her decision, giving a little nod, “You know, it’s good that you see that in him because I’m sure this change will be very stressful for him as well”, he spoke, scratching his cheek, “They’ll both be pretty nervous. Change is hard to cope with and neither of them have had a very good time with it in the past. Choi will probably be happy enough to talk to you if you want to talk to him, just don’t corner him or he might get frightened and start spewing random babble”.

Viral didn’t want it anywhere near him and now it was touching him, but he was quick try and cut it up and slice it to pieces with only his claws. Giving it a good few slashes here and there, the creature soon backed off and he was able to move again but that didn’t mean he wasn’t still angry about it. It tried to go straight out and eat him, something he definitely did not appreciate in the slightest. So this thing could merge with a type of surface, but whether it was any surface was still something to be seen; however, he wasn’t planning on waiting to see it.

Wanting this thing dead, he pulled out his cleaver once more and tried to concentrate on its energy again, he tried to read its movements without needing to stare at it. If he could learn how to recognise its energy then he’d be able to counter others of its kind in the future, especially considering it was fairly unique. Slowly rubbing his chest, he looked up and around, eventually managing to spot it come back out again only for Vegeta to counter it. Watching him, he readied himself again, slowly giving his head a rub to try and clear it before Vegeta made his move with the monster. Twisting his cleaver around, he made a straight cross swipe as it came tumbling for him, trying to cut it in half.

Takeshi rolled his eyes, ignoring Choi's and Kai's taunts as he stared down the corridor intently. He knew he heard something, it sounded like an explosion. There was no Ki to detect, so did that mean it had been mechanical? If part of the ship was now ruined then they were effectively marooned and sitting ducks for the military, hardly ideal. Maybe if they could find out what had happened they could fix it before anything bad came of it.

"It came from down this way... It sounded pretty far off..." Possibly at the other end of the ship, a big reason to be worried then. The hangar was off in that direction, potentially close to whatever blast that was. Had the soldiers found everyone sitting there? Taking off down the hall in a quick jog he tried to strain his ears above the sound of their footfalls, hoping to pick up another sound to tip off where it may have been. If there was no Ki signature then maybe it was the soldiers, and perhaps they had found the monster. If they did one another in then all the better, less work for them. Anything less than that was going to cause problems for him. "Are you guys picking any energy up? Anything abnormal?" Takeshi asked, glancing back over his shoulder.

"Nothing man, only ours," Kabocha replied frowning as he hurried along behind the Prince. He had been the only one to hear this sound apparently, so it was a little iffy whether or not this was an actual thing. Takeshi well could have heard things and be chasing ghosts, meaning this whole endeavor was a huge waste. Even if that was the case at least they were doing something now, walking around aimlessly got tiresome really quickly.

Yumi nodded her head with a smile, fully agreeing with Daiko on the matter. She hadn't put a ton of thought into how everyone was handling the changes up until now, and it definitely had to be fairly overwhelming. New worlds, abandoning the life you had known, these were hardly small phases they were going through. To her it seemed all the more reason to try and be close with Choi, to try and help him through this. She couldn't say for certain, but Yumi felt she could do a better job supporting him if she were his... Girlfriend. Not so long ago the very thought of calling a Saiyan other than her friends anything but an enemy would have been totally farfetched. Now here she was, preparing to ask one of them out. She really was out of sorts if this was how she was going to behaving now. It had to be something to do with her changes, it made her soft or something ridiculous like that. If that was really the truth of it then why was she not really appalled by her feelings? Standing up from her spot she folded her hands behind her back, smiling at Daiko politely and giving a small bow.

"Thank you for the talk sir, I appreciate it." Yumi said, her cheeks still a faint rose color. "I'll try not to frighten him when I ask, but I definitely feel like he should hear it. Better or worse it's going to have to come out some time."

The monster just couldn't win for the life of it right now. Its ambush had failed and it quickly found itself helpless, being tossed about in the air like a toy. Trying to attack the Saiyan as it was in the air it was quickly knocked away, rather hard at that. Hurtling back down towards the floor it twisted its body, eyes locking on Viral as he prepared to swing with his cleaver at the helpless creature. The blade was very sharp, it already knew that and had the wounds to prove it. Taking a cut head on then would spell the death of it, there was no way that could happen. In an act of desperation it opened up its mouth, gathering a bit of energy as quickly as it could. Rather than fire at its assailant the monster shot at the far wall, doing so in a beam rather than a singular projectile like before. The force of the attack propelled it backwards, though not nearly enough to completely avoid damage. The cleaver still would hit the beast, rather than tearing it asunder ripping through one of the smaller hind legs, severing it entirely. Shrieking in pain it tumbled to the ground, rolling a fair bit before ending up on its side. The leg would land on the ground with a soft splat sound, surprisingly with no bodily fluids coming out. Instead it began to sizzle, and gradually melt away into a purple smoke.

"What in the hell? What is this thing...?" Vegeta mumbled, watching the leg in awe. Nothing in this universe did that, to the best of his knowledge. Everything bled, especially when a limb was severed. The only thing that wouldn't was a machine, and since this thing displayed hunger it was most certainly not a robot. That defied everything he knew then and made this foe rather curious. The scientist in him wanted to figure out what was going on, but the reality of the situation was they had to be rid of this thing as soon as possible, it was too dangerous. Spotting the beast struggling to its remaining feet he gritted his teeth, frustrated he couldn't simply blast it away. "Viral, it's getting back up!"

Kai couldn’t exactly tell what it might have been; he hadn’t been listening out so much as he had been trying to look out for it. If there was unknown noise that didn’t sound like systems restarting then it was definitely something that was going to be a negative on their part. He almost wanted to call in and see what was going on, but quite frankly he didn’t know who he was supposed to call in to or whether they even knew about a monster. It would had probably been a good idea to call in and warn them about it, but then again if they hadn’t met up with it quite yet then they couldn’t possibly get hurt.

Choi didn’t know if he had heard anything; he might had heard something, but quite frankly he was too distracted to had been listening out. Looking to Takeshi, he frowned a little when he mentioned it was far off, his first thought going straight to the hanger. He really did hope that nobody had ended up running into it, but he figured they should probably head in that direction and find out. He really did hope that the hanger was alright, especially when it was such a delicate area. With no Ki signatures sparking up at all, it meant the soldiers hadn’t caught wind of their presence on the ship thankfully.

With the twins both jogging after Takeshi, Kai continued to look back and try to see if there was anything coming from behind. He didn’t want to be ambushed with the noise simply being a distraction; it was definitely not something they were used to. The monster was possibly smart; it was something they couldn’t put down as a possibility with them going on a wild goose chase. Frowning a little Kai eventually looked back, moving a little faster, “It’s best we skip by the hanger before going full circle to the engine room, just incase things aren’t blowing up there instead”, he spoke quickly, looking back again, “It’s a pretty vital part of the ship and if that’s what’s blowing up, then we might as well abandon this place”.

Viral had managed to cut the beast, but its reaction had caused it to shift and avoid being killed completely. Being forced to move away to try and get ready to fight again, he watched the weird leg dissipate into nothing before his attention went straight back to the beast. He hadn’t seen something like that before, but then again there was many things in this universe that was strange, himself included. Looking to Vegeta, he narrowed his gaze slightly before his attention went straight back to the monster, bringing his cleaver up. If he could chop off its head then it should do the same and considering that was the most important part of it, even if it could move around without one regarding the possibilities, it wouldn’t be able to attack or try to eat him.

Watching the creature make an attempt to get up, Viral’s attention went to Vegeta as he pointed out the obvious. That was a little annoying, he could see what was happening so he wasn’t blind to that. Growling a little, he immediately went for the monster, holding his cleaver tight in hand as he threw down an attack; however, with a short stuttering pause his attack slowed down, his joints becoming stiff as if he had received an electric shock before he pulled back, stumbling a little. He didn’t have enough energy of his own, his lack of food and sleep catching up with him and his energy-dependent body.

"Yeah... Good idea..." Should the engines go then this entire ship was going to be nothing than a floating wreck. Given their group size and the amount of supplies they now had it simply wasn't going to work out, they needed the space and resources. Losing the ship wasn't an option, not if they wanted to travel without people trying to eat one another. Damn shame that this ship was as large as it was, unless they were to fly it was going to take a moment to reach the rear where the engines were. They had to keep the pace fair slow, just in case it didn't end up being in the engine room, they didn't want to overshoot it. "I really hope this thing isn't breaking the engines... Then we're screwed."

The creature could scarcely stand at the moment, awkwardly trying to adjust its weight now that it only had three limbs. Perhaps it was lucky that the bulk of its mass was in its upper body, meaning that very little strain was being put on its remaining leg. However, with the loss of one appendage came a drastic reduction in its mobility. It could stand on its hind legs to attack but not move on them, it had to use all four in order to do that. Running now at any remotely quick speed was going to be dreadfully awkward. Seeing Viral bearing down on him once more the monster reared back on its one leg, preparing to snap its maw at him to try and stave off his attack. Seeing the attacker abruptly stop though and back off left it marginally confused, emitting only a low growl as it watched the Beastman, apparently in pain. It couldn't fathom what was going on, all it knew was there was an opening and it could get its food at last. Slamming down its arms on the ground it launched itself forwards, trying to ram its entire body into Viral and knock him down, and hopefully that pesky weapon away. Right as the distance between itself and the Beastman was rapidly closing that damn Saiyan interfered again, grabbing its prey from beneath the arms and lifting him up off the floor. Growling furiously the monster once more crashed onto the floor, skidding across and slamming into the guard rail, denting it and nearly snapping it apart.

Vegeta exhaled thankfully as he rose up into the air, holding Viral just under his arms and well out of reach of the monster. He may have been able to stop that, but with a beast that big it would have been one hell of a collision if he'd failed. Seeing it skid across the ground he cringed as it near broke the rail, worried that if this continued on much longer there might be damage to the engines. For the ship's sake they had to finish this soon, preferably now. Since Ki was off limits the only thing he could really do was hit it and hope it died, but from his strike earlier he could feel it was an incredibly dense being, its skin felt pretty darn coarse too. Pounding away at it then wasn't going to suffice, they needed a sharp edge. Viral's machete ought to do the trick. Looking at his friend now though he wasn't too sure if the Beastman was up for the task, he looked properly exhausted. If they hoped to kill this thing without causing any collateral then it was their only real option. "Viral...? If I keep us moving can you still swing that thing? I can't break its skin, that hit had a lot of force behind it already. We need your knife to do this."

Racing right along it hardly took the squad much time at all to reach the opposite end of the ship. With no other indications that the sound had come from elsewhere they stopped outside of the engine room. Takeshi was dismayed to see yet another panel beside the door, expecting them to have to either hack it or break their way in. When he walked up to the console he was surprised then to see it was in fact unlocked, meaning someone had come by and gone in already. Frowning he looked at the door uncertainly, trying to pick up energies on the other side. As he focused in on the room he managed to find a faint spark, and with a bit more effort was able to label it as Vegeta, no question. Something else was inside there though, something he couldn't place. It felt strange, and just plain wrong, like it ought not to even exist. If he didn't know better he'd think Viral had transformed, but even then the Beastman didn't give off anything like that. It was unsettling, it felt properly dark and sinister, and feral almost. Just what in the hell was it? "Hey... You guys feel that...?"

"How can I not? Whatever that is, it's got me chilled to the bone," Kabocha mumbled, staring uneasily at the door. He too had managed to sense Vegeta, meaning that the Saiyan was inside, presumably fighting whatever in the hell it was. He needed their help, they couldn't sit here and just gape at the door all day. Moving to stand in front of it he swallowed back some nerves, stretching his arms out and rolling his neck before looking at Takeshi. "Open it up boss, we've gotta get in there."

Out of reach, now both of them were out of reach. Damn that Saiyan, and damn the Beastman for being able to fly. There was a pit forming at the beast's stomach as it stared up at the two, mouth watering in anticipation. Just one, that's all it needed. Just one and then it would slink off and recover. How was it going to get them down though? It couldn't blast them, the Saiyan had a reply for that. Voicing its frustration in a loud, shrill shriek the monster crouched down, readying to launch itself up at the two to try and drag them back down to its level. While pressed low against the floor it became distracted by something, swiveling its head to look at the doors leading out of the engine room. There were more scents, more prey, more chances to have a meal. Anticipating the doors opening it turned its unsteady frame around, aiming right for the door as it began to pull apart. Once the opening was large enough for it to fit through it barreled forward, growling ferociously with it's eyes set on Kabocha, trying to just get its jaws locked on him and tear off something, anything to make itself heal.

"WHAT THE FRIG?!" Kabocha shouted, staring wide eyed at the monster charging at him. No time to move, no time to dash off or even try to blast it. Stuck where he was he instinctively swept a leg back and balled up his right hand, throwing forward a hard jab right at the monster. Catching it between the eyes he winced as he felt his arm lock up, closing his eyes and gritting his teeth. The monster was knocked back from the strong blow, tumbling backwards head over heels and finally ending up awkwardly splayed on its back. Opening his eyes when he noticed he wasn't freak food he blinked in confusion, looking down at the monster then his hand, wincing seeing his hand all scraped up from hitting the rough skin of the beast.

Takeshi had only just seen the monster come out, but it was more than enough to get an idea of what they were up against. The engineers had been pretty accurate in their frightened description, it was definitely not something they had encountered before. This feeling of dread that accompanied the beast was nothing like they had seen, and he could have sworn that its mouth had looked... Well it almost looked like space did just outside the window. It was a relief that Kabocha was fine, save for the scrapes on his hand, but he'd live from those. Exchanging a baffled look with his friends he hurried over into the doorway, surprised to see Viral and Vegeta up in the air over the monster. What the heck was going on in this ship?
