"It has been ten years since it happened, and now, here we all are, fighting for our lives among the danger of what is now our world. I suppose you're wonder what happened now huh? Well to put it bluntly, crap hit the fan and the world fell into ruin. The more advanced explanation may also be necessary. In which case - It started exactly ten years ago. Some super secret organization got it in their minds that joining all of earth under one single ruler by force was a brilliant idea. Obviously, looking around you, that went well. Well, what happened was they basically assassinated all persons of power from the world. Yes, that includes Presidents, Kings, Queens, Prime Ministers, everyone of semi-important power. This of course sent the world into chaos until this organization gave a worldwide message. "Obey us, or we will obliterate you and force the others to their knees." Obviously, a lot of people opposed and so, the people of this organization carried out their threat. This however caused worldwide panic. Riots began popping up everywhere, and people started going on killing sprees at the mention of the organization. In a futile act to stop the panic, the organization dropped bombs in multiple cities where there were mass riots and clumps of more dangerous people. These bombs unleashed a gas that when it came into contact with human skin, made their flesh boil and burn, effectively killing them. The bombs did their work in silencing the people - the rioting and murdering stopped, and we all fell into a dark time of silence. Then, something else happened.

In the areas where the bombs had dropped, animals began to mutate and evolve, soon giving way to three new species of megafauna. Among the most common of megafauna were odd dogs that had grown an extra head, an extra tail and their legs had become much stronger, allowing them to stand up on their hind limbs, and their front limbs - now arms - had become lined up to the elbows with small, serrated spikes, and their paws had become more like under-developed hands, tipped in long sharp dagger-like claws. These canines were found to be highly aggressive and traveled in packs of five to ten, attacking everything on site. These canids were dubbed as Vehemendogs. Once they got a scent, they won't stop till either they have killed their prey, or are killed themselves - which is achieved by a shot to the head.

The second megafauna to emerge was a more neutral biased creature. Feline like in nature, these cats were about the size of a small car, with saber teeth that emerge from their top jaws, with three pairs of horns, two curling forwards and one curving back around their heads. They also have large retractable claws and a tail tipped in a sharp blade that has been rumored to slice effortlessly through steel. Often colored a slate grey with darker black stripes these felines were dubbed as Nightigers. They're fairly neutral and can attack on either side, yours or your opponents. Can be brought down by a shot to the heart.

The third was a somewhat passive equine-like creature, not much bigger than your average horse, these animals were very horse-like and resembled the fabled pegasus, but instead of feathers, they have leathery bat wings, and have a row of spikes up their nose and down their neck to their shoulders, as well as two horns that sweep back behind their heads, with tails that instead of hair, are long thin tails ended in a barbed tip. Given a rather boring name of Bathorses, they can be killed by a shot to the head

Once these megafauna were discovered, a lot of things changed. The Vehemendogs killed many people, and the Nightigers killed many as well. The population of the world dwindled until the organization finally realized that this world was a lost cause now. No longer having a place of power, or anyone to govern them, the last few thousand people were lost, and became more nomadic - forming clans and becoming tribes. With the ever looming threat of Vehemendogs, many people started forging weapons and raiding the long abandon cities, occasionally running into newer species of animals, that weren't as evolved as the three megafauna. Things went along like this, until yet another curve ball was thrown to screw us over once more.

A huge solar flare from the sun erupted, and this one had lot of radiation in it, causing many tribes over the world to mutate, becoming more quadrupedal-like creatures, and some even mutating immensely, evenly dispersing humans to mutants. Only a scarce few humans got away unscathed, leaving us where we are now - wreaked, dismantled and crushed, but alive. Now here is the real question, are you ready to join us?"

My new-found power of flight was amazing. Of course, the view, given that we now lived in a wasteland... wasn't. From my new vantage point, I could see all sorts of things, most of them, I assumed were either new breeds of megafauna, or were mutants just like myself. One creature in particular caught my attention for a little while. It was a strange little blue feline creature with a diamond on its head, and light blue, feathery wings. There was a human running away from the thing, as if it was harming him, but... the thing wasn't chasing after the man, and seemed equally surprised at the man's reaction. I continued on and eventually found a small community. There wasn't really much to see here, just a few tents and a lot of dead bodies... that can't be good. I guess these people weren't as lucky as I was. I simply think as I look around for any living humans... or, heck, even mutants that were still alive would be nice. Megafauna that was alive, on the other hand... yeah... not too happy about that possibility. I wander around the place, having finally landed on he tough, dry ground, and realize something... I felt much more vulnerable down here. A little more cautious, I head into one of the makeshift buildings, and see nothing more than all of someone's worldly belongings, which consisted of two dollars, and a pack of matches, neither of which I really needed, and... a dead woman. She had brown hair, that appeared somewhat straight, but appeared untouched... as if something killed her without attacking her... perhaps this was a result of the same solar flare that made me what I was, now.

Either way, I couldn't really see her face, given that she was lying face down on the floor, though, she did seem rather tall... or I could just be somewhat small, now. I really had no point of reference that might allow me to figure out my own height in this wasteland, unfortunately. A few things were different from the camp that I came from... first of all, the building itself appeared to be made of scraps, rather than the tents that we had. It was somewhat smaller than the tent that I came from, and instead of cloth on the ground, it was just the same dirt that covered the rest of the wateland, which was starting to feel a little uncomfortable. Out of curiosity, I touch the dead body with my left talon, and, much to my surprise, a lightning bolt discharges itself from my talon, and into the body, creating a zap sound, and actually cooking the body where the lightning bolt landed. I couldn't help but shout in surprise at my own ability... I mean, how did I do that? Did I even do that, or was that just a residual charge from the body, itself? It didn't hurt, so, perhaps I did make that happen... looking closely at my claws, I noticed their coppery color... they couldn't possibly be MADE of the stuff, could they? Even if they were, what sort of purpose would that serve? Well... copper's a pretty dang amazing conductor of electricity... even then, I'd need some sort of source of the stuff. Heh, maybe I'm a lightning mage now, or something. I think, holding in my own laughter after that thought. Lightning magic... or really any magic in this world. I was into video games, but I wasn't stupid.

Lupe walked along the barren ground, the dust on the ground getting kicked up by her boots as she walked, ice blue eyes scanning the empty ground. To her right, a little way off was a ruined clan's camp. Switching her path to the camp, Lupe quickened her pace to a fast walk, unsheathing her daggers - just in case. Wings flapped beside her as a small black form dashed past. Lupe jumped slightly, before glaring at the cat that was now sitting at her feet.

"Dammit Erebos. You're gonna get stabbed one day by doing that." She muttered, halting to pick the purple eyed cat up, setting him on her shoulders. The leathery wings rustled as he flapped them a few times to steady himself, before folding them and curling his two tails around her arm. Lupe sheathed her daggers and fondly patted the cat's head, before walking forwards again towards the camp. As she drew closer she could see skeletons dotting the ground. Grimacing, Lupe quickened her pace, unsheathing just one of her daggers, as she drew closer, holding it behind her, arm tense and ready to slash at anything nearby. As she drew close to a nearby skeleton, Lupe took note of the charred bones and other snapped ones. Erebos jumped off her shoulders as she knelt down, fingers running across the deep gouges in the bone. Vehemendogs. She then turned her attention to the charred bone. Scraping off some of the burnt residue, she smelt it. Yes, this was left by flames. A quick look around found the origin of the flames - a torch lay nearby, probably dropped by whoever was holding it when the dogs attacked.

A sound nearby caught her attention and she spun, the other dagger coming out as she held both of them in a defensive posture as she scanned the area, her teeth grinding as she scowled. Another rustling sound nearby dashed past, knocking over a tin with a loud clatter. Lupe muttered curses under her breath, and sheathing one dagger, she slowly unholstered her 9mm, flicking the safety off and cocking the gun, loading it with three bullets. She took aim just in front of the noise, following it as it moved around her. Then a small dog jumped out at her yapping furiously. The poor thing had six legs, two tails, three heads and tumors all over it from mutations. Erebos fluffed up and hissed at the mutt, growling. Placing a hand on Erebos's shoulders, Lupe took aim at the dogs middle head, her finger growing tight on the trigger, before she shot, the bullet hitting it's mark and blowing the dog's middle head apart. Then in quick succession, Lupe shot the other two heads, putting the canine out of it's misery. Erebos hissed at the dog's now limp carcass, before looking up at Lupe.

"We should probably get out of here. Don't want any Vehemendogs to find us. The bastards always return to a kill site." With that she turned, holstering her pistol and sheathing the other dagger, walk off, with her feline companion by her side.

Erion had been walking for what been a hour about... He had seen something fly over, at a distance. He did not actually get to see what it was... He looked around, seeing the devastation of what had happened. The charred ground, corpse of people around. So much death.... so many people he could not have saved. He continued to move forwards, slowly, on his guard, calm. No one... he saw no one else. He could go and try to fallow that copper colored creature from before... but what if it would attack him... It did look strange though. He sighed, and then moved towards where that thing was flying. Just then... he started to smell something. At a distance. He started to move towards the place, only to hear a gunshot. He jumped back and yipped at this. Someone using a weapon... that was worrying him a bit... but intriguing him also. He started to slowly move forwards, careful, hoping not to get shot, wanting to see who actually shot, and hoping that it would not be hostile. He started to smell the air. Blood... blood and the smell of death filled the air. The usual. He shook his head. Why did it always have to be blood and death he was wondering. He slowly started to move more and more, only to see another human at a distance. He could not see who it was or the features, but it looked human. And he smelled the odor of blood. Maybe that was the human that shot earlier. Thank god he had good ears now... He layed low, hearing, listening to what would be said if anything.

Maybe... maybe finally I could speak to someone without having them run away from me... Just hope they would not attack me... I have enough of being alone.... he though to himself. Loneliness was something that was really getting to him. For all his life he been with friends and other people, and now being stuck alone for so long... if he were to stay 1 more week without anyone, he might actually go crazy...

I crawl out of my little shelter that was a hole dug under a rock supported by two wooden planks, that had little aluminium pots and pans with grimy food packets of spam, cereal, sausage, and a bunch of bacon. I also had about two bottles of water I found from the store and some flint with kindling. I cough and then kick the planks down, making the boulder fall, which in turn made a giant dust cloud. Perfect hiding of my shelter? Definitely not. Good enough? I guess. I cough a bit as I wave to clear the dust and look down the road. There was rubble, and a shack of a guy who I made friends with. His shelter included all kinds of indecent magazines, old newspapers, and a dysfunctional fridge that he kept his guns in. He was one of the few humans left, from my assumptions. I think he also had a chair, too. Nice place to rest, that's for sure.

I walk down the street to hear some gunfire, somewhat near my current location. "Probably just that old coot shooting some sort of cricket..." I mutter as I spit an icy cold liquid onto a spider, which pretty much froze it. I smirk. First time I've done that. I walk down to his shack and knock our special knock. One... two... three... "Cletus!" I say. One knock, two, three knocks, "Cletus!" until he opened the door. His bulging eye caught me off guard for the umptillionth time, his skin looking particularly saggier than normal and his giant mustache poking out from the top of his lip, the greyness, the curliness, and the occasional hair that didn't quite stick up, along with his scraggly stubble, and the soul patch, which he dyed purple just because. "Oh, hey there," Cletus says, inviting me in to sit down on his chair. I remove a dead rat with a hole so big that it was pretty much a head and a tail with some skeleton and occasional guts and strings of skin that was laying on the chair. I sit, and he offers me some fried up flies and tarantulas. I push the dish away, and he gobbles them down quicker than you could say "Mosquito Lunch." I look at him, and we talk for a bit before I hear more gunshots. "I'll just... uh... check whatever that was. I though it was you at first, to be honest, heh..." I say awkwardly.

As I leave, I head towards wherever I thought the shots came from, cautiously. I didn't want a bullet in the neck. I walk on the broken asphalt and climb over a downed telephone pole. I shift my colors to look like that of whatever was behind me and in front of me, sort of giving me a see-through look. I see some dead Vehemondogs. I walk around them, looking for the culprit of the gunshots. I eventually give up my see-through shenanigans, since it didn't work with my hoodie or my pants, and I wouldn't dare go naked just to spy on someone. Eugh. I cough into my sleeve, since more dust was blowing through, and I wait to hear another gun shot.

"Oh-" Before I can throw an f-word at the obnoxious idiot knocking on my door, let me introduce you to myself - I'm Milloon Hall. I'm pretty pissed.

"Hello? That irrigation pipe of yours broke down again! We need your help getting it off Hugo, Mr. Hall!" As usual, I just ignored his pleas. The darkening sky would solve that, now that the weather system had gone crazy thanks to many bombs. "Come on! God damn it, our crops aren't gro-" Getting annoyed at the teen, I just held up my rifle aimlessly, waving it around like a wand before forcing it to act on a window. "Abracadabra. I just created a shower of rain." I said with delight, watching as the bullet hole I had created through a plank of wood had come out the other end, and split the remains of my glass.

See, I was busy getting up, almost ready to attend the beak-mouthed teen's request as I got my yellow-stripped toolbox with flaking paint, laying by a small rubbish pile of chip packets and an assortment of beverage cans. As soon as I take a stretch, I end up losing my balance and landing on my toolbox. Hard. To add insult to injury, not only did my tools go everywhere, but the kid was still screaming like some sort of vulture, not aware I had just dented a few scales or two. Or broke them - I'm still not too sure what happens if you damage a scale with significant trauma.

Of course, he ended up screaming (literally) and ducking. How could I see he was crouching like a bloody idiot? Well, my metal door had a claw mark, which somehow appeared through an inch of... whatever they made those doors out of. Those hell hounds did a good job massacring the community. Too bad they left the rest of us alive, leaving us below while every religious nut went to whatever happy place they prayed to 24/7. Arguably, everyone was attempting to barricade themselves, including myself as I parked a trailer van in front of my workshop doors, so...

Anyway, I realised I ought to actually help out the community, rather than attempting to murder every person who knocked on my doors while I was asleep, or on sniper watch at the top of my roof. "Eh. Sorry, kid." I said, sitting down on my squashed bed and letting my hands flop down in between my legs. Never really got used to being a snake, now that I can't even wear shoes anymore. "I'll come in an hour. I just gotta... patch up a few things of my own."

"Uh... uh-su-sure thing Mr. Hall!" What I could hear next was wind whistling through my broken windows and the kid's footsteps. I felt sorry for him, since he had lost both of his parents despite his kind attitude. Anyway, by patching up, I mean I was going to repair the damage I caused to my window, and possibly the rest of my workshop. I lifted off my sunglasses, since the moonlight was enough to break my sleep. It was scary to not ever properly blink again. Anyway, continuing on patching up, I was naked, so I had to get some clothes soon. Being a snake, I was damn freezing, shivering even as I tried to take a deep breath. I never bothered to sleep with my clothes on, 'cause otherwise I'd be sleeping on a bed of rocks. Even though that was what a snake usually did.

I yawned as I took a good look around my workshop/home. Normally, I wouldn't even bother paying attention to the state of my workshop, as I could just blink and walk away. Now, I gotta see the truth with my clear eyelids. Metal frame holding my bed up (oddly not dented), mattress looking white, despite the fact it's like five years old and having to stand whatever I did on it (or rather to it)-

Oh screw that. I'm freezing. I lifted my pants and jacket off the cement ground, squeezing my legs into my pants and precisely fitting my tail through a hole in them. Secondly, I had to get a jacket on - that was easy, just slipping my blue and grey arms through my sleeves. I should've went with my old jacket first.

Back to my workshop: you see, everything's old in my workshop. (Except for the functional SUV, which has been unclaimed for some time - I think the owner's dead. At least I can drive around in it, as I've got his keys.) The rubbish is old, I'm old, my tools are old... heck, even my money and weapon's old. Money, as in that's been in my safe for a while. Weapon, as in I've just possessed it for a while. A good old M40, although I'm not exactly a top-notch hunter. Right, workshop; the place is actually rather... segregated and small. There's a ladder which goes from a room that stores tools and such to above it and the flat roof, both with railings that provide a good vantage point over the dusty plains. On the side where cars and people come in, it's tidy yet a bit empty, with the occasional tool chest filling the void between cars getting repaired and my side of the workshop. Thankfully, nobody actually minds the mess I make, with the blankets getting crumpled and the rubbish pile getting bigger each day. They just know I can do a good job with their cars among other things...

Bah, I'm just a rambling old man, fresh at the age of 41. I just got up, dismissed some gunfire or something, and packed my toolbox by trying to figure out the difference between some hammers and a can on a stick.

With a weak grin on my face, I braced against the sun, leaving my workshop with a blowtorch, a toolbox and a rifle, in case things got nasty. I put on my sunglasses before trekking down some metal grate stairs, walking past a cactus and a large plot of farmland nearby the track.

As I continued to check the camp for any survivors, I hear a gunshot from nearby. I jump back a little, and then realize that whoever shot that wasn't aiming at me. Well, either the enemy's getting smarter, or that was another former human who shot that. I think as I cautiously walk out of the makeshift building that I was currently in. Oddly enough, I could feel the ground rumble and shake just before I took off. I thought nothing of it, and flew towards the source of the gunfire. I saw that odd creature from earlier, as well as a human and a mutated cat of sorts. Wait, there are still humans left in this world? Well, I've gotta protect her, as she could be humanity's last hope for survival. I think as I slow down, and eventually land right next to the two. The gun looked intimidating, but I was certain that they'd understand. I clear my throat, and then say "Don't worry, whoever you are... I'm not here to hurt you. In fact, I'm here for the opposite reason, as, so far, you're the only human I've seen that hasn't been mutated. My name's Robert, and I'm here to protect you, as whatever few humans might still be alive should stay that way." My words might have been a little confusing, but I hoped that they'd get the point across. If she shot, I would fly off (assuming that she didn't hit my wings), and then maybe even just protect her in secret, like some sort of extra party member that is never seen in an actual fight. I then feel the ground shake again, but this time, it was worse... what in the world could be happening? Was it no more than an earthquake? Something about these quakes didn't feel natural, putting me on edge and prepared for something to happen.

As Erion was waiting to see what would happen, he saw the copper colored creature going down and landing near the human. It then said something quickly... something about not wanting to hurt her... something about protecting her and such. Seriously, this is not how you usually go around and try to make friends. Especially with how the world is now. That guy might just end up having a bullet in the face or something. It was not something that would be fun to have not for the least. He then started to concentrate, sending a telepathic message.
"Careful, with how the world have changed, you might get shot. It would maybe been better to try to go slower to introduce yourself." he sends to the copper wyvern. He just hoped that this would not make it made at him for saying that. He never liked to take risks, and what that dragon did was really risky to say the least. He sighed. Well, if the human would not shoot him, Erion might be able to move forwards slowly, having less chance of being shot.

Lupe stopped in her tracks as a shadow passed over her, the shadow casting a webbed wing pattern over her. Bathorses maybe? But then why are they out at this time of day? She thought, looking up to see a dragon-like reptile swooped down at her, and on instinct, Lupe jumped back, unsheathing the blades hidden in her gauntlets and holding them in a defensive stance, only momentarily unbalanced by a short quake. The dragon stood up and looked towards her, and Lupe braced for an attack, but instead, the reptile started talking.

"Don't worry, whoever you are... I'm not here to hurt you. In fact, I'm here for the opposite reason, as, so far, you're the only human I've seen that hasn't been mutated. My name's Robert, and I'm here to protect you, as whatever few humans might still be alive should stay that way." Lupe narrowed her eyes, relaxing a little bit but still keeping her stance and her blades unsheathed. Erebos moved forwards to sniff the wyvern, his black fur on end as he moved forwards. Lupe eyed her cat wearily, before slowly sheathing the blades back into the gauntlets with a ring of metal lightly scraping other metal.

"I'm sure there are a few of us still kicking out and about. After all, there's plenty of Vehemendogs still prowling. The bastards have a taste for humans. I'm Nyx." She said, her ice blue eyes watching the dragon wearily as she moved out of her defensive stance. A sound nearby caught her attention, and stepping back, Lupe turned so that the dragon and another creature nearby was in sight. It looked somewhat like a cat, and was about the size of a Nightiger. She put her hands on the hilts of her daggers as Erebos bounded back over to her, jumping up onto her shoulder and opening his wings to balance himself, before folding them after he had found his balance, his tails twitching back and forth in mild interest. "And who might this be?" She said, her tone somewhat harsh, her gaze flicking between the reptile and the cat.

As Erion sees what the human did, he was worried a bit at start, but then calmed down. He slowly started to move forwards, before sending messages towards both of them.
"I am sorry if I was hiding. I was unsure if you would have attacked me... I mean no harm... I was human before all this but... My town was destroyed by those bombs, I was able to get away, only to be changed into this... I... I just don't know what I could do..." he sends to both of them, before breathing deeply, moving forwards a bit more, his wings moving a bit.
"Name is Erion by the way... I... I hope you don't mind if I come with you guys.... It been so long that I been alone..." Erion then says, looking sad at the moment, hoping that he could maybe be able to go with those guys and not have to worry anymore about being alone against the beasts and vicious creatures of the world now. He just hoped that that girl and that dragon would not just attack him or something. It was already a risk for him to show himself.

Lupe watched cautiously as the cat came closer, her grip tightening on her daggers, but a quiet voice floated into her head, and Lupe looked towards the cat in slight confusion.
"I am sorry if I was hiding. I was unsure if you would have attacked me... I mean no harm... I was human before all this but... My town was destroyed by those bombs, I was able to get away, only to be changed into this... I... I just don't know what I could do..."

Lupe scoffed, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Yea, well almost all our towns were destroyed by the bomb, shit happens. Get used to it." She shot back, relaxing her grip on her daggers and standing up tall, her icy gaze watching the cat carefully.
"Name is Erion by the way... I... I hope you don't mind if I come with you guys.... It been so long that I been alone..." Lupe nodded at Erion, before looking over at the wyvern - Robert was it? "I guess we can travel together. After all, don't want to run into any Vehemendogs alone. Don't need any more scars. I'm Nyx." She said, turning and walking towards the run down old town that she could see in the distance. From where she was now, she could see faint forms moving about, probably other mutants. As she started walking, a sound nearby caught her attention, unhostering her 22cal' and pointing it at the source of the noise in one fluid motion, Lupe scanned the area, before finding the noise's owner. Three Vehemendogs were slowly advancing towards them, their eyes glittering hungrily. "Oh for the love of god, not more goddamn Vehemendogs." Lupe muttered, loading her pistol and flicking the safety off, cocking it and taking aim at the one that was closest. "I sure as hell hope you know how to fight." She said to Robert and Erion, grinning slightly. So they were in a post apocalyptic world fighting for their live against dangerous megafauna - Not like she gave a crap.

As Erion saw the Vehemendogs coming, he looked at them and then let out a hiss. God why the heck did he just do that... why the heck did he just let out a hiss like a animal. Stupid new form probably messed out his brain a bit also. He then saw one of the dogs coming, and going to strike him. Erion quickly concentrates and throws the dog back with mental powers, before shaking his head. He won't be able to actually beat them by just throwing them away. Just then that same dog jumped again, going to bite him towards the side. Erion quickly turned around, before jumping back and then using his back legs, propelling himself towards the dog, and striking it hard with his head. A distinct crack could be heard from what sounded like bones breaking. The dog yelled in pain, feeling some of his ribs having been broken from the impact of Erion's headbutt. It seems that at least his head was harder now then before. Unfortunately he could not use his tranquilizer gun in his bag, cause he did not have no hands, unless he uses psychic power, but even then, how can he even aim carefully. He wad not use to these powers yet, so it could be bad to even try to shoot. He probably would miss them easy. He stares as the same dog started to back away, his heads growling. Erion knew he had to be careful. Those things might hurt quite a bit if they were to bite him or anyone else in the group.

Another gunshot that had echoed through the plains. Damn bandits. Fighting among themselves like... bandits, really. I thought as I stepped on long blocks of wood that formed the dirt stairs down my workshop towards the road, full of cracks and yet not potholes. We were all located in the south of Swells (the name of this community), as empty buildings with smashed windows and chipped walls filled the rest of the community. Once we had 500 people living here before the whole world capsized. Good people. Now, it's like 20 or so. Barely anyone left in this town, so we all lived in the south-western part. The rest of Swells was uninhabited and abandoned, if not roaming with bandits and deadly animals. At least we've got more guns than people here, but just because we had around 50 hidden in an armoury, it doesn't mean we're safe - (here's something I thought of as I passed light poles and dust-coated houses, which still had people living inside of them) you can point a gun at anyone, but who strikes first wins.

I'm the latter. I got an old M40, so obviously I'd be a fair distance when people start pointing barrels. Sorta defective as the thing would regularly drop an entire clip of ammunition, until I decided to tinker around it for one night, getting myself a trusty weapon that would last me for a while. I considered hunting so that we could trade more food with a local clan, but in this environment, that would be suicide. Even if you did manage to hunt down some prey, they would probably be filled with poisons or other dangerous things, like sharp bones. One of our own died from eating an animal whole. getting this nasty parasite which burst out of him like that scene from the movie Alien. Technically, he's still alive, since apparently the parasite's got his consciousness or something. Still, it doesn't mean I'm rather disgusted by the dark, armoured worm-like body, with three jaws and two tentacles acting as his arms.

Speaking of which, he was the teenager who knocked on my door. Those steps were merely his tentacles flailing on the ground. Fooled me good. "Alright. What's the problem?" As I approached the teen, I called out for our local doctor. Unfortunately, it turned out the person pinned underneath the pipe WAS the doctor. "Okay. I can fix the pipe, but I can't fix his ribs." I said, crouching down and sniggering to myself, shaking my thoughts of dry trees that I saw earlier.

"Just get the damn thing off o'me!" He struggled to say, his face acting up. I was kinda jealous that he was still human, although he was probably jealous of not being able to possess the power of us mutants. "Hey... where's Wally? Isn't he supposed to help around here?"

"He's missing! Probably those damn bandits nabbing him during his hunt!" See? This is why I don't go hunting.

"Alright, urgh... Earl, I need a hand here, or rather a strong tentacle - help me lift this pipe off on Hugo here!"

Without hesitation, Earl (the parasite kid) slithered over, making odd remarks about this 'hydralisk,' and how he seemed to have a similar stance as that. Well, that means if one of those buggers get into this community, then I won't be able to tell Earl apart from those hydralisks.

"You got that tentacle of yours around the pipe?" I said, beginning to lose energy already. We were going to lift a 30 cm diameter pipe off Dr. Hugo Ying, which was going to be hard, considering how I needed Wally to help lift. Now, I have a kid named Earl who's helping, and I doubt his strength... anyway, he nodded at me, wrapping his tentacles (I really want to stop using this word) around the pipe and evidentally making Hugo uncomfortable. "Nicely... done, I guess. One, two..."

"Three!" On three, we had somehow rolled the thing off Hugo, making a clang as the thing impacted the road. That was the easy part - the hard part was going to find Wally, our strongest guy around to hold the pipe in place as I screwed it together. If only I had proper equipment to fix the aqueduct pipe permanently...

"Well, I can try." I say as I fly up and out of the reach of one of the vehemendogs, who was trying to bite me. I then shoot a lightning bolt at the thing, using my... er... tail? Oh, right, wyvern. I hear a yelp of pain as the lightning bolt made contact with the beast's fur, and a fwoosh sound as the fur caught on fire from the lightning bolt. The thing was now running around with its entire body on fire. I chuckle for a moment, only to get caught off guard. Somehow, it actually got to me this time, biting down on my feet. It hurt like heck, and my scales didn't seem to do a dang thing to soften the blow, however, not long after my unintentional screech of pain, the thing was getting electrocuted, apparently by me. It let go of its grip once the electricity ran out, and dropped to the ground with a resounding thud. The thing twitched a few times, but after that, it was completely still. I then land, somewhat tired, and notice Erion headbutting his vehemendog. I then remember my own dog, Cody... it was a shame that he died from the solar flare, as he was a pretty good dog, but... well, it's not like he wasn't already old when the thing hit, and if he survived, he might have ended up as another one of these things, which I might have had to fight. Two left, and neither one of them seem to be targeting me... I just hope Erion's got a good enough defense to beat that thing. Maybe I could distract the one that's heading for Nyx so she can stay at a distance... I think as I watch what's happening. If anyone needed me, I'd be here, and I'd still be ready, injured foot or no.

Lupe beckoned to the hound that was advancing towards her and as the Vehemendog lunged, Lupe jumped to the side, her left gauntlet unsheathing to slice the dog's side. It let out a howl of pain, before spinning around to swipe at her, which she blocked with the metal of the gauntlet, pushing the dog's arm out of the way she ducked under it and pushed her 22cal' under it's jaw, pulling the trigger and sending the bullet up through one of the head's jaw and into the brain. She then rolled out of the way of the hound's frenzied slashing, making sure to give it's ribs a good slashing from the hidden blade. Getting up from her roll, the Vehemendog lunged for her, but in it's already weaken state, it missed horribly, instead crashing into the dog that Erion was fighting. The two squabbled for a moment before swapping targets, the other one lunged for Lupe, who just stood there, her blade and gun ready. Erebos then lunged for the dog, his claws slashing away at the megafauna's eyes, effectively blinding one head.

Taking the distraction in stride, Lupe dashed forwards, using her gun to draw the other head's attention, it's eyes following the 22cal', not noticing her other hand coming up and forcing the blade in her gauntlets through the hound's temples. Then yanking the blade out, Lupe jumped back, shooting the last two bullets in her 22cal' into the other head, but not before the dog's claws scored four large gashes down her left arm. Biting back a yell of pain, Lupe retracted the blade, grasping her arm and glaring daggers at the Vehemendog's twitching corpse. "Goddamn mutts." She muttered, reaching into the pockets of her hoodie and getting out a small roll of bandages. Lupe used one had to wrap the bandages around her arm above the cuts, muttering curses as they were quickly soaked with blood. She kept wrapping them, keeping her eyes on the last Vehemendog who was still occupied with Erion. She then wrapped the bandage all the way along her arm up to her elbow, covering the cut, before tying the bandage and standing up, gritting her teeth against the throbbing pain. She watched carefully at the fight, quietly petting Erebos who was perched on her shoulder.

As Erion saw how the fight was going, he mutters some words that would be considered curse words if he could talk. The dog then looked at him, angry, and rushed him. Erion jumped back, dodging a hit before being bit by the other head right at the top of his head. Unfortunately for the dog, Erions head was very hard, the gem actually protecting him from damage like that, and the bite only ends up with the dog yelling in pain from broken tenths and Erion yelling in just a bit of pain from the force of the pin point attack. Erion then looked at the thing with pure anger, losing his cool, before concentrating hard, pulling the dog down. Suddenly the dog was on the floor, unable to move, feeling a lot of weight on it. Just then, the ground started to crack, and a fissure, as big as the dog, opened up from under it. The dog then fell in it, before using all his strength to try to get out. on the side of the fissure, there were rocks that were lifted in the air. Erion was using psychic powers to actually force part of the earth to open up, and create this fissure. Just then Erion started to concentrate harder, aiming to crush the venodog. the fissure slowly started to close, with the venodog moving around frantically, trying to get out of it's grave. Slowly the venodog's bones started to get crush, before horrible cries could be heard. More and more the earth started to close, until the only thing left was a large crack with blood spilling out of it. Erion fell on the floor after this, holding his head with his front paws, breathing heavily.
"My head.... my head hurts..." he says mentally to people around. His forehead was bleeding just slightly just then, near the place where the dog bit, but it seemed to be slowly coagulating.

Standing on top of a ruined building I listen carefully. I hear multiple gunshots and the sounds of Vehemendogs hunting. Looking towards the distance where I heard the gunshots I find the location where their hunt is occurring. Seeing a large dragon-like creature, a small animal and a human facing off against them I begin to move towards the group realizing that I might be able to scavenge some supplies from the groups dead corpses. This is how I always survived for the most part. Finding people long dead and taking whatever I can, they don't need it anymore. Hearing more gun shots louder this time I begin to move closer. I remember that I had only seen three Vehemendogs and not a regular pack of five and now that I no longer hear any gunshots I can only assume two things. The Vehemendogs had killed their prey and were now feasting on its corpse or the group had survived and they won't take to kindly to a scavenger. But if they did survive... should I do something? I keep asking myself this question. The group may be able to survive is someone warns them of the possibility of more Vehemendogs.

Sighing to myself I begin to walk closer to the group flattening my ears to make my hood look normal I then conceal my tail behind me to make me look as human as possible. Looking forward as my hood conceals my face I move to the group watching them carefully from a short distance. I begin to hear a voice in my head "My head.... my head hurts..." surprising me for a second I realize one of them must be telekinetic taking note of this I begin to speak. "There will probably be more of them." I announce to the small group of three. "Now's not a time to relax." I tell them.

Lupe stepped back a bit when the fissure opened up, her eyes widening a little bit, before she smirked. Wow, the cat's got some juice. She thought, wincing as another shot of pain went up her arm. She checked the bandages o see that they were already soaked with blood. "Goddamn it." She muttered. She needed to get to a semi-sane town and fast - she knew she wouldn't bleed out, but she could faint. And there's no way in hell I'm fainting from that. She thought, scowling as she heard something from nearby. She turns towards it, loading her 22cal' with a bullet and aiming it at the newcomer. They come up slowly, saying that there would me more Vehemendogs coming. Lupe scoffed.

"No shit sherlock. Already got two cuts from 'em. Don't need a third." She shot back, using her other hand to point to the scar on her right side and the new bandage on her left. "Bastard always come back. This pack though was only a trio. Vehemendogs are territorial, the other two must have been killed." She added, not moving her gun from it's spot, still aiming at the newcomer. "Now then. Who're you and why shouldn't I shoot you right now? I know a Scavenger when I see one - You're just waitin' for us to die so you can take our loot and piss off." She said, narrowing her eyes as Erebos growled at the guy.
