My issue with Bayformers is that it makes the mistake many of the cartoons made: It doesn't center things on giant robots beating the shit out of other giant robots, but instead focuses on some asshole nobody cares about (Sam Witwicky). Having some token human puttering around really detracts from the action; I'd rather that screentime be spent on either introducing additional Autobots and Decepticons, or developing the ones already there.
Just putting that out there.

Yeah, I saw that. I found the way to mark all the upgrades on the map in Prime 3. I like how Prime 3 rewarded exploration that way instead of just automatically showing you the upgrade's location like Other M does.

What's your favorite of the 2D ones? For me, it's a tie between Super Metroid and Zero Mission. And my favorite of the Prime trilogy is Prime 2.

That's actually my main issue as well. If Bay set the movies on Cybertron and worked with that big gap in the original cartoon's continuity, then I'd find them less flawed.

There's a long-held assumption in cinematic and TV circles that audiences need a character who is a 'point of reference', or someone they can 'identify' with. This is why there's often a kid character if the show is aimed at younger viewers, or a human cast member from a 'normal' background so they can ask the questions the audience (according to the studio execs, anyway) are thinking, and the protagonists can explain things to them - and the audience.
This is why you get the human characters in transformers all the time - they're there to 'be the audience'. Even though most of the audience wishes they weren't there in the first place when you ask them.

I liked Prime 1 and 3 the most, I think of them equally. I guess I like Fusion along side Zero and Super Metroid. In fact there has not been one I did not like, Other M is not totally bad but it is the worse one to date. Other then some of the things that most if not all people mention it is fine. I like that Nightmare was in it but I hated the final boss.

And then you have the USA!USA!USA! military showing up and killing more Decepticons than the Transformers with their perfectly normal, real-world weapons (save for that one railgun), making you wonder why in the fuck you even need Transformers in the first place when you're actually watching Shitty GI Joe vs The Alien Robots.

The GI Joe/Transformers crossover in the comics was enjoyable, though.

I loved Other M's Nightmare fight. It was a really unique boss battle that really stands out in the midst of the other, more generic bosses.

The one thing I really liked about Other M was Samus's animation in the gameplay. She was really smoothly animated and her movements screamed agility, especially with the wall jumps and dodges.

My reason for loving Prime 2 is its atmosphere. Prime 2 was very dark and gritty, and I love gritty games. And Sanctuary Fortress is just jaw dropping. I also feel that Prime 2 has the best boss battles out of any Metroid game. They had massive scale and were more puzzle-oriented than in most Metroid games. But yeah, they're all great games, with Other M being at the bottom despite being fun.

I only have the first prime game but I don't remember a thing about Samus. Then again not I like care about characterization in Nintendo games. It's just there to facilitate why you're doing stuff in the game. The original one's premise was pretty much "You are a bounty hunter in SPACE and there's some aliens that need to be shot at that have a super dangerous alien that needs to be shot. Here have this big dungeon to crawl through." The reveal was nifty though.

There are rumors of that happening at some point. at least people are being civil. You should of seen the Star Wars RP I was in a few years ago, that was a complete mess and basically everyone was just shouting at each other over different opinions. Generally I am not really a Star wars fan, I liked Transformers, TMNT, Thundercats and Marvel stuff back then with Nintendo and Sega keeping me company when I was not doing any of the above or with some friends.

Stuff

They're some pretty enjoyable shooter/exploration things, though I'm not sure if Samus can be called a "woman" anymore, seeing as she's a human/chozo/x-parasite/metroid/phazon-mutant hybrid.
She's got some fucked up DNA, is all I'm saying.

Actually, the phazon mutation was reversed with the destruction of Phaaze because all phazon was destroyed. She never did get X DNA, she fed off of them because of metroid hybridization. So she's a hybrid of human, Chozo, and metroid, and there's a rumor flying around that the Omega Suit she got at the end of Fusion reversed that as well.

Now I feel like playing Super Metroid for some reason. To the SNES emulator!

If she did she can still take a lot so I think that she has the hybrid thing going on but that is just something I want out of it. I would like to see a Suit/ZZS type game where one would have to change from one to the other to complete a certain puzzle or fight a certain boss. I am sure they could come up with a reason why this would happen.

Oh, while we're still on Metroid, I'm actually writing a fanfiction that removes the sexism from Other M's story. Also, Samus didn't mysteriously shrink in this version like she did in Other M. She's supposed to be 6'3", but Other M had her at your average woman's height, with the suit bringing her up to 6'3". Thing is, her suit normally puts her at about six and a half feet tall.

Here's my source for her height:

That's from the Nintendo Power guide for Super Metroid.

Anyway, maybe that's what the next 2D Metroid will do.

I wonder if that other rumor is true. A 3D and a 2D one is in the works? But these days anyone can say anything.

Both were mentioned as being in the works during the same interview. They haven't begun work on them yet, but they're discussing what to do with the franchise and are seriously considering both a 2D one for handheld and a 3D Prime-style one for WiiU.
