Town of Duskfall

Jax took a bite of his sandwich and let a small smile form as he closed his eyes for a brief moment and savored the taste of it. Of course he opened his eyes almost immediately as he heard the sound of a plate hitting the ground and smashing on impact, but it was more of a reflex than anything. He was always careful to keep his ears open just to make sure that there wasn't a rifle being fired in his direction or someone screaming when he was around. He knew that the choices he had made would make him a target once he revealed what he really was but for now as long as he didn't run into anyone who had investigated the lab he would be safe. He let out a soft chuckle as he remembered the panic that had ensued after his experiment, the files that had been classified and the way security patrols had been increased across America. The Villains thought it was over, that he would hide from what he had become and that he feared them.

How wrong they were.

No. Now was not the time but the time would come soon. Jax had made the choice not just because he was tired of the way the bad guys had control over pretty much everything. No, it was more than that. The heroes before the genocide had been icons. Heroes in every sense of the word. They had protected the innocent and fought with everything they had against the Villains until that horrible night. He was determined to bring back the age of the Heroes.

Even if he had to do it himself.

Just outside of Duskfall

Tom walked down the side of the road going toward the town of Duskfall. Tom was fully adorned in his armour which he had to make repairs to ever ten miles or so beacuse of the strain of flying on it so for the rest of the way he decided to walk. He had heard that this was the way his dad had been taken but of course he wasn't sure if they were going to Duskfall or not but it was worth a shot. Thomas looked up from looking down at his shoes and looked at the horizon. Duskfall wasn't that far now so he decided to walk over near a dead bush and take off his armour. He hid the armour in the bush hoping no one would find it and continued on his way. Tom still had his remote suit activation switch which would make the suit fly to his location when the switch was flicked. Most people wouldn't wanna talk to an armoured menacing man but all else fails he could use it to intimidate someone. He kept walking down the road with his gun hidden away in his jacket and his eyes set on the town. He was hopefully ready for anything in the town wether it be one of the villian overlords or what not.

Town of Duskfall, outside of a small cafe

Leena rolled her eyes. The heat was killing her. She sat under an umbrella, on a wire chair, at a wire table, drinking a cold coffee and flipping through a magazine. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and the sun was beating down relentlessly. She could see heat waves rising from the cement roads only feet away. This was definitely not good for her allergies.

Leena was wearing an antique style lolita dress, white with puffed shoulders and lace trim. It ended right above her knees and puffed outwards in an almost unnatural way. Her bright red hair was tied in a bun, tight against her head. One foot tapped against the ground in a soft rhythm, her black high heels making a distinct clank against the ground. If one would focus closely on her, they would see the stray strands of her hair move every so often, despite the fact that there was no wind. At the same time she would quietly snap her fingers.

In reality what she was doing was using her powers, out in the open, without a care in the world. As she sipped her coffee, she snapped her fingers. A tiny explosion would happen, just above her head, blowing cold wind at her forehead. A perfect way to cool down on a hot day. Occasionally her eyes would scan around her to make sure no one was watching her too closely.

Town of Duskfall, roaming the streets.

The Guise of a homeless man, though it was technically true. For it had been a long time since he had had an actual home. More correctly he looked like nothing more than a man down on his luck. His Scythe and Helmet were secured away where they would not be seen or found and if they were someone to take them would pay severely for their transgression. Though the Scythe was almost as old as he was the helmet was a newer addition, while he used to wear an old Gas Mask he felt with the fact that most of the heroes were gone he had to be more than the symbol and myth of the Angel of Death. He needed to become an Icon for people to rally behind and the gas mask didn't exactly make him look friendly. Though nor did the helmet, with metallic sides and a black sheen where his face should be off the one way glass. The Voice changer was a nice addition, not that he had any family to keep safe anymore. The ones he cared about had left him a long time ago and he had made sure not to form attachments since, he couldn't go through that all again.

Why he was in Arizona? He didn't really know to be honest. A lot of the time he just walked somewhere for no apparent reason, he had learned a long time ago to trust his gut. He would be a good detective though it was a lot easier to live as long as he did while not officially being part of the legal system than if he tried to form a new identity every couple of decades. Most people ignored him anyway and that was the way he liked it, especially when the whole world was being turned upside down after the death of the Heroes who had raised themselves up on mantles above compare to anyone else, like the Champions of old who existed even before his time. He was thankful he wasn't from the time of Champions he would have likely lost his mind over the eons. Though sometimes he was almost convinced that he already had. He moved to the alley he frequented, and looked down it. Two guards same as always, he had found this crime rinks base of operations purely by accident but after watching them he really felt he had no option but to intervene. He had watched them, kidnappings, drug and arms dealings were frequent and while that was not unusual in the current state of affairs of the world the fact that he knew their base of operations wasn't exactly good news for them.

He opened the dumpster, once again ignored by members of society as they saw this homeless man look for food. Though it was bin day, it had been emptied though that was more of a godsend than anything else. At the bottom there was a long thin box he had screwed into the bed of the dumpster (No easy feat without making a noise) and unlocked it. Inside lay his helmet, Scythe and jacket. While he retained all his other items of clothing the jacket just completed the look, and despite its age it had held together rather well. He left the Scythe in the dumpster for now, being unable to attach it to its strap on his back in such a small space and put the helmet on.There was a hiss as it sealed itself and the foul smell of the bin was immediately replaced by that of purified air. The HUD wasn't all that fancy, he had Infrared and Nightvision if he wanted though nothing overly exciting. He stood up, grabbing the scythe and jumping out to face the door at the end of the alley. He stood up and strapped the scythe to his back. The two men at the other end obviously drew weapons, swords. It had been a while since he had faced swords. A lot of people now a days enjoyed using guns however a bit of a spar would be nice.

He got within a few feet of them and drew his scythe, twirling it around his hands in only a way a well trained person could. He had of course met mutants who seemed to have a natural affinity for melee weapons however the training he had done over the decades beat that hands down, in his opinion. After his display he brought it down so the blade was facing behind him and looked at his opponents. "Okay, who's first?"

The Cleaver was back in business.

As Jax continued to enjoy his sandwich he once again closed his eyes and enjoyed the taste of the sandwich. He had glanced out the window a few moments ago and for some reason, he felt that something was off. He saw people all over Duskfall and not one of them bothered him in the slightest except the woman he had seen outside the cafe window earlier. As far as he could tell, she was enjoying a cold coffee and reading some sort of magazine which was nothing to worry about. Yet something about her continued to bother him.

He opened his eyes and took a quick look at her and as far as he could tell...she was normal. It was when his eyes were drawn to the slight movement in her hair that Jax's curiosity got the better of him as he took a closer look.

Her hair was moving. Yet there was no wind. It wasn't enough to alert everyone but still, it was pretty unusual.

Jax got up and paid for his sandwich at the front and left a appropriate tip for the waiter before heading outside. He paused for a brief moment as he thought how best to speak to the woman. After thinking for a few moments he simply walked over to her table.

"Excuse me, do you have a moment?" He asked carefully. He didn't want to scare anyone. He didn't want to reveal his own secret but he also didn't want to draw attention to the woman either. A direct confrontation would do both of them no good.

Somewhere in West Virginia, the ruins of a long since ended battle.

At the location of a battle between a once great superhero and an even greater group of supervillains, Axel was paying his respects to the dead. With a bouquet of flowers and a soft prayer, he sat there in front of the grave with one hand draped over his knee. A loaf of bread in the other. "I wonder what it was like to be a hero during that age, musta been some kind of wild ride, eh? Heck, I don't even know your name. The grave's been vandalized, I can only make out a couple E's here and there." Taking a bite of the bread he leaned forward, tucking his leg underneath him to get a better reach. He tried to wipe off some of the spraypaint with his bare hand, but that was obviously fruitless. Axel swallowed the mouthful of bread and immediately stuffed his face again. Sitting there in silence, just staring at the grave.

There was a long moment of raw untainted silence, some off connection between a man of the modern day and a man of day's past. Hard to explain the feeling to those who haven't experienced it, but it's something along the lines of daydreaming. But your daydreams portray the life of the one you're thinking about, only by chance. It's truly serendipitous to experience.

With the sound of shoes crunching on gravel and dry earth, the silence broke. Axel laid his half eaten loaf of bread on the gravestone and gave a little nod to it, standing up and brushing himself off. The sound of footsteps grew into the sound of a group of footsteps, sounding like at least five men were nearby. A voice called out, deep and raspy, obviously a facade to make him sound more intimidating. "Looks like you came to the wrooong neighborhood buddy. Ain't nobody cares about that corpse's tombstone anymore, what're you doing around these parts?"

Turning around, he found that his estimates were not only widly incorrect, but comically hopeful. What was the sound of five pairs of feet was actually the sound of nine very orderly men, wearing ridiculous clothing that was apparently indicative of their abilities. This sort of peacocking was frustrating to Axel, who pressed his hands together. The handle of a blade forming between them. "Why do heroes and villains do that? Wear your crest but don't ruin your garb with gaudy colors." The handle erupted into a massive sword, and a suit of armor clasped around his body with numerous clanks and screeches of metal scraping against metal. "I am Axel Legrand, and you have decidedly stepped towards a man of great passion and prowess. I shall give you to the count of exactly twelve before I unleash hell upon you."

The group of men and one woman, began powering up. "One." Pleasant, they're supers. "Two." Two men's hands burst into flames, one was blue flame and the other was a conventional albeit more violent red flame. "Three." Another man started shaking violently, spines growing out of his shoulders and his mucles growing more noticeable. "Four." The girl floated upwards and sparks of electricity arced from her eyes. "Five." Three men withdrew handguns, another withdrew a katana. "Six." Cliche. "Seven." The final man did nothing, he was the one who had taunted him. "Eight." As a whole they seemed like a respectable team, for street levels. "Nine." The largest one, adorned with spines and powerful muscles rushed him, bursting into a sprint and slamming his fist into the side of his helmet. Forcing Axel to turn his head slightly to the right, though he did not move from his stance. "Ten."

The obviously shocked metahuman staggered backwards, Axel slid his sword over his back and into the cloth band that wrapped around him. He realized that he would kill them if he used his sword. "Eleven." The spiked man brought back another punch and aimed it towards his face once again, a resounding thud of flesh and bone striking metal echoed across the field. Again, to no avail. "Twelve." Mr. Spikey's eyes widened and his pupils shrunk to pinpricks, he too realized something.

He realized just how badly he's fucked up.

With a wide haymaker, Axel slammed his clenched fist into the side of the spiked man's head. A colossal thud boomed from the collision, followed shortly by a much softer thump. The sound of the spiked man falling to the ground unconscious. "I gave you a chance, and you refused." Axel leaned down on one knee and placed his hand just above the spiked man's mouth, raising it back up for a moment. There was a bit of fog on the hand, good, he hadn't killed him. "Must have been at least one quarter my strength, I actually felt that second punch." The twin fire slingers loosed a wall of fire in his direction, Axel grabbed the first of the fallen and broke into sprint. "Disgraceful! You were about to kill your comrade!" There was obviously no cooperation between them as a whole, they didn't hesitate. Axel spun and threw the now spikeless man away a few yards, not stopping his sprint for but a second. The two flamecasters did not let up, continuing their scalding assault.

It was comically obvious their strategy, but it was also poor. Attacking him in their most coordinated pairs, as the remainder stayed behind. Axel's not brilliant, but he's educated enough to realize simple battle strategy when he sees it. The flames wrapped around his body and blinded him for a moment, he covered his face with his hands and made a sharp turn towards the burning pair. Hoping that his idea would work, he turned his head downwards and brought his hands out to the side. Bursting through the flames he clotheslined the pair of them, slamming his forearms into their respective throats. This laid both of them out in the dirt.

"So, who's next? I'm assuming the man with the katana?" The sound of gunfire filled the air and he spun around, realizing that he had put his back to the three men with guns. He ducked down and grappled the ankles of the two fire users, one of them groaned slightly. "Hey, you, catch." With little effort on his part he threw the two of them at the trio of gunmen, the one on the right dodged with a roll but the other two were caught quite off guard. The four of them flopped onto the ground in a cloud of dust.

From behind he actually felt pain, like he had been cut. "What?" Twisting around with a spinning backhand he tried to knock away the one who had attacked him. It was the katana user, his blade was wrapped with lightning from the woman. She had superheated his sword? He cut through Axel's armor as though it were butter, he hadn't even noticed until he felt a wound on his back. If his sword hadn't been on his back, that attack might have severed his spine."By my name, what kind of strategy is this?"

A bullet sailed past his head, the katana weilder brought his blade up sideways and stopped it dead. "Glorious." Axel withdrew his blade from the cloth and waved it around a bit, noticing there were no chinks in the blade. The gunman stopped firing, a nod from their apparent leader made sure of that. The katana weilder and his lightning assistant made a bullrush towards Axel, who turned his blade flat and brought it in a wide arc. Turning it from a cutting edge into an effective club, the katana weilder was apparently not expecting the weight, as he lost his stance immediately from the strike. Though he had blocked it, his sword bent from the force. "Heating up a blade may work for strikes, but you'll find that a heated barrier only crumbles faster."

Axel released the grip on his blade and caught it with his left hand, bringing his right hand upwards and his left arm backards. Making it look like he was going to swing the sword. The swordsman focused his attention on the sword and was struck in the side of the head with Axel's right hand cross. "Keep your guard u- Oh, there you go. Another one out cold." The three gunmen were all on their feet again, Axel grinned and spun around. At this point he was sweating pretty profusely, the wound on his back was not noticeably deep, but it was deep enough to cause significant blood loss.

"Just a few to go!" He spun the sword around and lodged it in the cloth again, barreling forward at the trio of gunmen who were panicking at this point. Firing haphazardly in his direction, a couple stray bullets actually struck him and dented his armor. Just before he reached the trio he dipped down and brought his right leg forward, sliding a bit on his left leg. With a bit of effort he slammed his foot into the middle man's chest, sending him flying and heaving with pain. He dropped his leg and leaped at the left one, using his weight as a battering ram. Finally, he threw the left man at the right man, finishing off the trio by knocking him out with his companion.

Now it was just the lightning woman and the man.

Legrand stood up straight and rolled his arms in their sockets, loosening up slightly. "I can't jump, but you're going to have a real big problem real quick missy." He dropped down and dug his hands into the ground, lifting up a huge slab of dirt and gravel from the ground. Slightly moist, it held its shape pretty well. "Duck." She did not take heed, as Axel hurled a slab of dirt in her general direction. It slammed into her full force, knocking her to the ground and halfway burying her in itself. "I warned you."

The last man was all that stood, his costume included a cloth face mask that hid all emotion from view. "Now, you're all that's left. Right?"

Comically, he fainted. Not even in a respectable way, as though he had been hit with a stray bullet or something. No, he just fell face first into the dirt. Apparently overwhelmed with the idea that his companions were defeated, or perhaps it was a ruse, so he wouldn't have to fight Axel. Either way, he fainted, and Axel began laughing. He laughed so hard that he started to cough, and he himself fell forward. Not all the way to the ground, but to his knees. Axel clapped his hands, removing his armor. A large quantity of blood splashed out, his wound was pretty bad. That was more than enough excitement for one day, he stood back up and ripped off his shirt. He flattened it out and wrapped it around his body to properly cover the wound, deciding at this point that a hospital visit would not be unreasonable.

Leena was, quite frankly, not one to talk to strangers. She wasn’t even one to talk to acquaintances. That’s why, when a man walked right up to her table and started a conversation with her; she didn’t so much as glance up from her magazine. Instead, she took a sip of her coffee, reached into her pocket, pulled out a cigarette and lighter, and took a long drag of the smoke before looking away from her article.

”Listen, sorry to be rude, but I’ve got better shit to do than talk to you right now.” Was what she wanted to say. Except all she got out was; “Listen..” Something about him, she couldn’t quite place a finger on, but it was on the tip of her tongue. His face caught her eye and made her stutter, which never happened, leaving her quite confused.

“Uh..” Leena looked around, with a roll of her eyes she sighed, “Yea sure.” She uncrossed her legs and with one foot kicked the other wire chair, causing it to slide back for him. This, in turn, caused a rather unpleasant and loud noise. She had successfully made the people around them to turn and stare in their direction. Leena had stopped snapping her fingers.

As Tom walked into town he was fairly nervous. Ever since beginning to use the Iron legacy armour Mark one Tom had felt very venerable whenever he didn't have it one so thus he didn't normal take many risks such as trying to talk his way out of situations rather than actually fight it out. As Tom walked past an alley way something caught his eye that sent dread, excitement and confusion through his mind. He saw someone who almost completely matched the description of a old war hero, well more of a old war myth, that was Cleaver although most things matched up with him and the description he had been told about the legend the one thing that seemed off was the mask he wore which looked newer and high tech than the rest of his ensemble. It looked like he was gearing up to fight off two men with swords of all things. Tom knew that this wouldn't end well for the two men but rather than get involved Tom decided to sit it out at least temporarily just incase Cleaver wasn't friendly so Tom hid around the corner ready to watch the ensuing fight with one finger ready to call his armour just in case something happens.

The one on the left, shorty, went first. With a low swing designed to give his companion a clean swipe without the possibility of him blocking. Obviously they had trained together before and were quite skilled. Not quite enough for what they were up against now however. He swung the blade away from the man using the staff to block, when his friend swung for his right lung he simply twirled the staff so that the blade swung down to knock the blow off target. He had a quick decision to make now, would he take the time to stretch out and give them a good run for their money or should he end it. As he thought he caught someone out the corner of his eye at the mouth of the alley he quickly enough decided which he was going to do. The longer this fight stretched on the greater the risk that he would draw a crowd and that was exactly the kind of thing he was trying to avoid. He hadn't been held in captivity since before Vietnam. He wasn't really in any type of hurry to end up back in a cell, war time camps were easier to escape from as you just had to get them to shoot you and play dead. Normal prisons tended to be a bit harder with an autopsy and such.

Dragging himself out of autopilot and back to the present he ducked a blow that would have ruined the rest of his day before he swung the scythe right around, high. Naturally his two opponents ducked he then slid the staff down and changed directions rapidly, feeling his muscles almost tear by the speed of the whole thing. They have have expected a low attack but from their left side where the blade would have come from. The staff knocked into both of their knees. He contemplated sparing them, it would do the whole hero thing wonders however that wasn't who he was. He wiped the blood of the scythes blade on one of the fallen bodies before removing a key from his pocket and moving up to the door. He placed the key in the door but didn't turn it. He was still being watched, he could feel it. Not a sixth sense but the way you could feel it when you knew someone was focusing on you. He turned, all they would see was his visor face whoever it was. The thing was, did he want to settle something the now? He didn't really but if they kept watching it could cause a problem if they called the authorities or followed him into what would probably be a bloodbath.

In the end he chose to ignore it. Though before he could touch the door it was flung back off its hinges sending him with it. Crushing and breaking several of his ribs by how it felt when it landed on him. His head smacking the concrete below him. He really wished part of his abilities meant that he didn't feel the pain. The injury was bad, let alone the pain of healing so rapidly. He coughed slightly as he stood up, why on Earth would they install explosive bolts? Paranoid bastards.

Four gunmen walked out, three with assault rifles and one with a light machine gun. He really hated this job sometimes.

Tom watched Cleaver fight off the two swords men with amazing skill. He was in Awe of the precision he had with his scythe. After he had taken down the men it seemed he knew something and when he turned to look over at Tom he quickly ducked behind the corner again hopping he hadn't been seen. Tom stayed behind the corner and was about to get up and leave not wanting anything to happen to him but when he heard the explosion and the sound of guns of the gun men clunking around Tom decided to take action. He quickly flipped the switch to call his armour and began to fire pot shots hoping to hit one of the gunmen.

“Yea sure.”

Jax smiled and sat in the chair she had kicked towards him. He carefully lowered his voice to a point where only Jax and the woman would be able to hear and the smile faded slightly. "You should be a bit more careful about displaying your abilities in public even if you're only displaying a fraction of what you can do." He said carefully. He didn't want to offend the woman but he certainly didn't want her to be found out. If one of the grunts around here had seen her and managed to get word out...she would be hunted down until either killed or captured. "I can help you. I can get you out of this town and somewhere where you don't have to hide your abilities." He said quietly.

Moe yawned, leaning back in the chair she was sat in, staring ar her screen. Clicking a few more things and powering the computer down, the girl nodded as she finished for the day, having no more clients needi g things. Pushing the chair back, she wheeled into the kitchen, even though it was down the hall and around the corner. Quickly and effectivly using her portals, she made a sandwich without standing up or moving the chair. Once done and the items used away, she used one last portal to wheel herself into the living room, gripping the television remote on the way by. She paused as a wave of warmth passed through her unexpectedly, leaving her skin tingling. She glanced to where the remote had been, a ray of light across the table.
"I was doing well today. She mumbled, flipping on the television and leaving it on white noise, liking the sound of the static. It wasn't long before she finished her meal, standing up back into the litchen with the help of portals, dropping the dish into the sink. She stood for a while longer, moving to the window to gaze straight down at the people eating at the resturaunt under her appartment. Her eyes seemed drawn to two particular people, a man and a woman, sitting outside. The man had just had a chair kicked towards him to sit in. Losing her train of thought, Moe moved away, pulling on a sweater as she went by, heading to the fire escape. It was easier to use it rather than the actual front door, and it lead to an alley, instead of the back parking lot. On the street, she glanced back towards the cafe goers, before moving in the opposite direction, headed for a general store that stocked forken foods, including Australian snack foods. She enjoyed the american sweets, but they were almost too sweet for her, as she was raised eith dried meats and salted penuts as treats. Moe grinned, remembering back to the outback that was her home. It hadn't changed much in fifty years, and horses were still more common than cars, although motorized scooters were befoming more popular too.

Cleaver gritted his teeth against the bullets, he barely noticed the one fired behind him and even if he had he wouldn't have time to register it with the fire being peppered into hsi chest. He forced himself up despite the pain as holes were ripped into his clothes and blood fell to the ground. He finished standing, just, and began pushing himself forward. By now he could be heard grunting against the pain slowly getting louder as he began picking up speed. The pain was intense, it had been a while since he had been shot at and he had almost forgotten how unpleasant the experience was. Now he really wished that he was incapable of feeling pain. Two of the gunmen with the assault rifles moved back slightly as they began to reload, this gave him the reprieve he needed. He jumped to the left out of the line of fire, and as the bullet fire followed him he pushed himself off onto the opposite wall. Grabbing his scythe he swung it down in a curve catching the rib cage and puncturing a lung of the man with the machine gun. He went down dropping the weapon.

With the silence now he could hear the screams as the weapon fire had made quite a noise. He felt he could hear the sirens in the distance. The respect he had for the police was immense, still trying to do a job despite the state the world was in. Though most of them were crooked and just tools for the mafia anyway. He looked up at the last two gunmen. It was unlikely that he would be able to take out the rest of the building before two much attention was drawn to him now. He may as well take two more out of the picture however. He walked up to them, they had begun to panic when reloading their weapons and as such were struggling. When he drew close they threw their guns down and he simply shook his head, before swiping the scythe round and removing their heads from their shoulders. With that concluded he looked down at his tattered clothes as he attached his scythe back into its holster on his back. He could hear more gunmen in the building and the sirens were getting closer. Running to the nearest fire escape he began climbing it up onto the rooftops. He took a moment to look around as he did so. There had been someone in the alleyway, he could see him now. Poor bugger. Was all he thought, an innocent bystander who would likely be accused of being the one to cause the damage. Accused of being a mutant and then either killed or taken into custody.

He looked out a the town. From here he could see a cafe and a supermarket. Though more importantly, the edge of town. It was time to move on, with the sounds of sirens he felt he had outstayed his welcome.

As Tom continued Pot shots his mind raced as the sound of sirens entered his eardrums. He began to think what would happen if he was accused of the disturbance. Of course he was actually gulity but not nearly as guilty as Cleaver. Tom looked around the corner quickly and saw that the initial three men were dead and that Cleaver was gone. Sadly for Tom more gun men were now coming out and beging to come down the alley way, the good news is that help had just arrived. Up in the sky a rickety iron man armour barley held together as it landed on one of the new gunmen just as he was about to discover Tom cowering in fear. Tom jumped to his feet and into the armour. Toms scared personality quickly diminished and was replaced by his ussual cocky self.

"You ready to start" Tom said in his armour as the men began to open fire on his armour. Even though the armour was made from other things that would make bullets seem like water balloons the Iron legacy armour had plenty of weak spots but Tom wasn't about to let any of them be hit Tom ran down the alley way shoving one man in front of him to the ground and firing bullets from his shoulder mounted mini gun at two other men ripping open their midsections. He then raised his arm and shot flames from his arm mounted flame thrower at men still coming through the door. Tom could handle quiet a few more enemies but he wasn't ready for the unpredictable which this building was full of, for all he knew Doctor Doom could be in there. He backed up slowly still spewing flames at the door way then quickly grabbed a near by dumpster and rolled it I front of the door. "That'll keep em out for a while" Tom said as he flew up into the air and above the buildings. He looked down and saw Cleaver on a rooftop. Tom sped by Cleaver and grabbed his arm and yanked him away off to the outskirts of town so he could help him avoid the police "I'd just like to say I'm a HUGE fan." Tom said.

” . "You should be a bit more careful about displaying your abilities in public.”
What did he just say? Leena let out a startled cough as she jerked in surprise. A couple nearby turned towards her, worried looks on their faces. Leena let out a forced smile, nodding at them as they turned back around. Did he just..? One hand reached up to play with her red hair as she eyed the man that sat across the table from her. He had offered to take her somewhere where she could use her powers? But Leena had heard enough horror stories to learn not to trust strangers, especially strangers that knew about powers.

From her time people watching, she learned that most normal civilians are anything but smart. This was proven by her hours in front of the café, playing the same trick over and over again without anybody noticing. Leena couldn’t believe it, maybe it was her ego, maybe not, but she couldn’t believe that some ordinary guy spotted her powers. Unless… Unless he wasn’t ordinary to begin with. Leena leaned forward, her arms spread across her forgotten magazine, “What are you?” Before he could respond she shook her head and let out a breathy laugh. "And you think I'll just run away with you Mister? Forget it."

As cleavers arm was grabbed he grabbed onto his wrist with his other arm to prevent his arm from simply being ripped off. While loosing an arm wasn't the end of the world and easily replaceable it wasn't the most enjoyable of processes. He tried to limit the damage that he had to take obviously because pain was bad. He looked down at the town as it stretched out below them until he was dropped unceremoniously at the outskirts of town and then the... He would say Iron Man however he looked like he was made at home. Poorly, with hand tools. That is if tools were even used in the construction process. However the metal man simply declared that he was a fan of his work, well. That obviously meant that some knowledge of him existed somewhere in the world and that some people were interested. That was always something.

He clicked the microphone off his helmet on with his tongue before speaking, something he rarely did and his helmet let out a low monotone voice."Good to know, now who are you and what do you want?" He had his arms spread enough just to grab his scythe quickly if needed, his legs were a little bit further apart than he usually stood however not noticeable except to a seasoned veteran of martial arts and he was already scanning his surroundings for objects he could use if it came to blows while at the same time he was inspecting the suit. He was no technological genius, he was still back in the 1900s in most cases however he could still spot structural weaknesses in the actual armour. OR so he hoped.

“What are you?” Before he could respond she shook her head and let out a breathy laugh. "And you think I'll just run away with you Mister? Forget it."

Jax smiled. "Perhaps you heard about the incident a few months ago? Security patrols were increased all across the country and there was increased security nearly everywhere. That was because of me."

He lowered his voice. "I can't show you here. But I swear to you on my life that I'm like you. Not the same abilities mind you but I'm not a normal human being anymore. I found a way to transform myself at will." To prove his point he took a deep breath and for a brief moment his eyes shifted from blue to dark green. "I can do more. But if I did it here I'd be hunted until either captured or killed."

"I'm not asking you to run away with me. I'm only asking that you give me a chance to help you. I'll show you where I train myself and live and if you don't like it I won't force you to stay. You can leave at any time."

"Oh I'm sorry for not introducing myself. I am Iron Legacy. And as for what I want. I want to make a difference in this messed up world. Make it like it was before all the heros kicked the bucket and when we had democracy." Tom said. He didn't say that the other half of it was he was looking for his dad due to it being unnecessary. "Basically I grabbed you to help save your behind from the men in blue. Don't think they would take kind to a man with a scythe taking off people's heads" Tom said. He was pretty nervous talking to Cleaver but he didn't show it in his voice.

Tom looked at cleaver more closely now that they were standing still. He could tell that he was ready for a fight if push came to shove but he was ready too. He hadn't known all that much about the infamous Cleaver but he assumed that if he had survived this long then he must be a mutant of some sort. Tom always felt a little uncomfortable around mutant due to the fact that they could usually over power him easily but now that he had his armour he might be able to take on the odd mutant.

As she was walking, Moe noticed the sound of what she thought to be a giant bee. When the girl looked up, however, something mechanical looking whizzed by overhead. A man in a long coat looking injured was dangling from it, and the both of them were headed to the outskirts of town. Curiosity got the better of Moe, and she ducked into an alley, using portals to go from alleyway to alleyway, checking to see if the coat was clear before she moved out. She knew she could move faster if she didn't have to hide, but her method was faster than walking, or even running. Once she reached the outskirts, she used one last portal to move behind the closest building, using a tiny portal on the other side of the brick building as a peephole, leaning against the wall and looking through. It seemed as if a new, if poorly made iron man was back, and had brought a helmet wearing, scythe weilding friend. Furrowing her brow in confusion, she brushed the image of bricks from her mind, breifly recognising it as a result of leaning against the wall. Her mind went back to the supposed supers she was spying on.
'Whats with these guys? They planning to team up and fight, like the heros of old? Tin man there looks like he needs an upgrade, but I'll bet he can still hold his own in a fight. And that other guy's bleeding real bad. Probably a fellow mutant. Regeneration, like wolverine.' She thought to herself, stretching before returning to her portal peephole.

The Iron Legacy was incredibly hard to read. The whole suit was an incredible mess as far as he was concerned though, not to mention with the few pieces that appeared to look like they were actually from one of the Iron Man suits. It reminded him so much more of the Iron Monger just the bulkiness of it all. Either way, he wasn't overly impressed with the kids need to go help him. It only drew attention to him and that wasn't something he really needed. He looked down as his body forced the last bullet from his flesh and the wound sealed itself. He let out a sigh in relief as his body returned to a state of normality without any pain. "I don't need, nor want your help. I've been in and out of prisons since before you were born. If you really wanted to help you would have left me to get away on my own steam." He unclipped his helmet, and there was a hiss as the seal broke when he removed the faceplate revealing of the face of a man barely the age of 22.

"Now you have just made things more complicated, I won't be able to get back into the town to hitch a ride out without drawing suspicion as I will have to go in with my full gear on." He looked out into the wilds. He looked around, making sure they weren't being watched. Thought he saw what appeared to be a weird hole in a stone but he merely shrugged it off as the light playing tricks on him. "The wars over kid, we're a resistance and going around using your suit like that is only going to get you killed. Especially until you manage to sort it out. It looks more like it will fall to pieces than win in a fight. What would you do if one of the guys in their own suits came after you? You'd be over. Go home kid, this fight isn't yours."
