Originally Yuuji planned to give Sylvia a Follower instead of an Animal Companion and have him be the meat-shield/damage dealer. Both her presences would help during combat and she could always throw the Follower into berserk state. Would that be better?

W-wouldn't that also be a bit too over powered? Sylvia would become too well rounded then wouldn't she? She could have the Follower make up her stat detriments in Might and Vitality.

It wouldn't be overpowered. Your follower is one character (that levels up a bit more slowly as all Henchmen do) and your chara is another. Your chara can still be killed seperate of your follower and there may even be instances where you get separated.

If the Henchman lives longer than the character though, does he stay a Henchman with his poor EXP gain? Or is he upgraded to a real person?

Depends upon whether or not you want to play the henchman.

Badass King Leifr I of Gallastre with his fluttering cape and glorious beard begs to differ.
But, I don't trust Renose enough to keep Leifr alive long enough to meet such a great end to his tale. Rather, I expect Renose to have some lowly dungeon trap off Leifr. Like a darn spike pit.

Using two points of Luck to escape death only means he does not die. A critical wound that spells the end to his adventuring... well, that isn't as easy to cheat~

Yea, both rolled for attacking the horses now (as in, they found much more enticing and vulnerable targets to go after rather than the ones all in a small enclosure that were killing them off one by one, they are like beasts after all, most likely driven by instinct)

Luckily their claws can only deal so much damage (all weapons have a maximum amount of damage they can deal), otherwise Leifr's horse would have suffered a bit more damage than what it actually suffered XD

Naturally heavier, stronger weapons like greataxes, greatswords, mauls, or other such weapons (which are harder to wield) have higher max damage than the lighter ones (like short swords, daggers, whips, claws, or other such weapons)
