Slade kept his eyes pinned to the wall as the man placed his hand on his leg, he already figured out that the man hand more interests in the children than just science. He made sure to keep his breath steady as the flame met his cheek, he was not going to break so easily.

Vlad grinned seeing Slade resist his first attempt. He slowly moved the flame down to the boys neck. He ran the flame along his neck caressing him with the flame. "You can try to resist you but I will break you Slade. You are not the hardest nut I've had to crack." Vlad laughed at his joke.

Zaen laughed at the fact she liked him, but then realized she was serious. He sighed. "I don't completely hate him, he hasn't done anything to me. The others probably hate him because of the torture and the cruelty. I'm kinda inbetween." he shrugged and explained.

Madison nodded, still looking down at the floor. "I see. That makes a lot of sense, but I don't think Vlad wants to hurt us...that badly. I think he's a good guy, and I would help him."

Slade refused to break, he focused on the wall and kept his face blank was the flame licked up and down his face. He took in a single steady breath through his nose and exhaled through his mouth, for a moment it seemed as if steam floated out of his mouth but it was quickly gone before anything could truly be noticed.

Vlad drug his hand into the boys leg as he lowered the lighter. He pulled the boys shirt up revealing his chest. Vlad's hand dug into the boys thigh and he placed the flame up to the boys nipple.

He shrugged. "Well, the only thing I've done against the rules is accidentaly hit a target with a knife." he said, then chuckled. "I have no intentions of messing with Vlad or trying to escape. This place is the only place I got." he said.

Slade cocked his head what seemed like a millimeter to the side. His expression remained the same blank stare as the man lifted up his shirt and moved the flame. His breathing slowed down and he took deep steady breaths, this time the steam could be seen rolling out of his mouth in small clouds that quickly dissipated.

Vlad chuckled. "Maybe fire isn't your weakness. Let us try something else." Vlad reached into his back pocket and took out a knife. He slowly caressed Slade's neck with it just like he had with the flame.

Madison almost hugged him, she was happier now than she had been in a long time. This place was her home now, and it appeared as though she would have some long term roommates.

Slade's face and breathing stayed the same as the man started to use the blade to cut his feet. But his mumbling started to become louder, just enough for Vlad to be able to make out the words. "Three things..."

Vlad ignored the words. He didn't know what the boy meant. "I know your feeling something. Your body isn't as numb as you pretend it is." He moved the knife up to the boys face. He pressed the tip under the boy's chin.

"Well, goodnight." he said, then turned around and began walking back to his room. He had gotten tired while walking and talking.

"Three things can not be long hidden..." Slade mumbled as the blade as trailed up to his chin.

"What are you hiding from me Slade?" Vlad asked. He slid the knife along the boy's body. Looking for a reaction. He made thin cuts along his chin.

Slade's eye twitched slightly as the blade was moved along his body. "Three things cannot be long hidden, the sun, the moon, and the truth." He said in a cold tone before his eyes flashed from their usual coal black to a fiery ember color.

"You lie Slade. All three can and have been hidden." Vlad scolded the boy. He put the knife back into his pocket. He took out a small bit tale of alcohol. Vlad carefully sapped it on the boys cuts starting with the new cuts on his chin.
