[OOC] Orphanage for Supernatural Kids

Abilities: Telepathy - She is quite experienced in the use of telepathy to help with her psychology. She's able to read some fairly secluded memories though generally refrains from doing so due to the fact that she respects their privacy.
Emotional Telepathy - She is able to read the emotional state of the people around her and sense them through their supposed auras. She's extremely experienced with this ability and has used it to help people.

Personality: Kind-hearted and of good-will, Alexandria is a kind and happy person who loves to help whoever and whenever she can. She has a deep sense of justice and tends to stand up for the weak. She is always calm and carefree, and oftentimes a little clumsy, though when she begins her psychology lessons she's generally a lot more serious. She enjoys making jokes and getting to know people, and treats everyone as one in the same.

Bio: Miss Frost was raised with a rather average family of four siblings, and was appointed the eldest. Her parents were loving and cared for her, even when they discovered her secret ability, and respected her decision to keep it secret. Growing up, Alexandria made many friends, her ability contributing a fair bit though mostly because she stood up for the weaker people and helped those that were in need. She was a natural when it came to psychology, and by high school she began studying in the field so that she could help others less fortunate than her that needed help.

She finished her college course a few years back and got a degree in her desired field, however it was quite a while before she could actually begin her dream job. Quite a while, in fact, as many of her job applications were rejected or simply never made it to their desired locations for various reasons. However, one day a letter arrived through her mail, detailing that she had been appointed the position as an assisstant and psychologist for an orphanage just out of town...

A new job...To help special children, like she was, at a certain orphanage a little out of town...(Just so you know, The Benefactor would be the most likely person to ask of her assistance and would more than likely be the one who sent her the job request)

First let me say I general don't like these type of characters. They tend to be misused. You have to be VERY careful how and when you use the ability. You wouldn't want to change someone planned backstory. I am curious to see how you use psychology. As a psychology major I will be watching closely. I am alittle curious why the benefactor would send her a request to help the orphanage when her failure in her pervious job lead to death of children.

*sighs* The children that commuted suicide were far from saving in the first place, yet Frost took the blame and, as guilt ate away at her, she began to think that it was her fault, despite numerous other sources pushing against her. Remember some of the things that might've gotten these kids to go see her in the first place and think logically. The Benefactor might've seen her as not only a viable option to help out those at the Orphanage but also to help boost her own self esteem.

Basically, it's a learning experience without her knowing.

As for the characters like this, remember Keegan and Melissa? They haven't exactly done too much yet XD as I said before, I'll only use said abilities with the other person's permission.

Hmmm... I'm not sure that the reason behind the deaths matters so much as the fact that she was responsible for thier care when they died. Also if she has no confidence in herself as a counselor how can she help the children?

*sighs* It's not the reason so much as it is that there was so much pressure against these kids with the only resistance being this lone psychologist. A solitary light in a world of darkness, so-to-speak. Alexandria more than likely knew of these pressures due to her telepathic abilities yet thought she didn't take enough action to counter them - didn't do as much as she should've, considering she knew so much - and as such blames herself for their deaths. (I rambled a bit here...)

As for self confidence, I never said she didn't have any :D I must've wrote the wrong thing. What I meant was it's similar to proving a point: By helping the kids at the Orphanage, no doubt some kids with equally or perhaps worse problems/stories than the ones that were driven to suicide, she may come to realize it wasn't her fault that drove those kids to suicide, but the other numerous outside sources that were fighting against her (abusive parents, bullying, just to name a few). This realization could be what he was trying to invoke in her.

If need be I can just re-write the backstory.

My major gripe reading up that sheet. It doesn't put a very convincing foot forward for one vying for a place here. Not to be rude on the creativity of the one who submitted the CS, but I think it would be pretty daft on Benefactor's part to give her the job if the 'special' children she has been sent to help turn out to be even more wound-up pieces of work than her previous charge.

You know, from the setting of the RP I always believed that many of the orphans arriving here will have really rough life and/or some really grating incidents that changed them. I mean, I see Katherine, Kyo and I don't see how they'd be so trusting to a young upstart who isn't confident in herself.

Take no offense, I am just analyzing the character from the setting's perspective.

In the theatre, arguing whether to enact a person from their past is a right move or a wrong one. For the 'Right' we have the housekeeper. For the 'Wrong' we have a very vocal Keegan, Melissa and Hadley.

You are right. Most come from bad backgrounds. Liz had already hinted at hers. If I had my third girl she had SERIOUS issues and wouldn't have anything to do with Alexandra. I like the idea behind the character but not sure about the reasons for her joining the staff
