Hey guys, I've been having this idea for a character, though I'd like you guys' thoughts on it first, especially Katherine's, considering she's sorta the GM and all. Anyway, I was thinking about making a sort of "Assisstant Housekeeper" character who works at the Orphanage to help with things. The character is in their early-mid twenties and has a degree in psychology, and is especially good at it because s/he also possesses telepathy. She/he was hired not only to help the Housekeeper and children in the Orphanage with tasks and whatnot, but also as a psychologist who wants to set each of the kids' minds' straight. He/she will also act as an Assisstant teacher and could be considered the "nice" version of the already-existing Housekeeper, being deeply compassionate, joyous with the kids and helping them with their troubles.

So? Whatcha think?

That sounds really cool to me, Having a good optimistic chacter to help people instead of it being a student.

LOL I had a NICE housekeeper in the first version of the Orphanage and the characters ignored each other so she started forcing them to interact. It would be interesting to have someone help the kids deal with their pasts. If you can handle all three I am for it.

Excluding this new character that I might be making, I'm controlling about 7 or 8 characters across multiple sites at once. Three characters in one RP is easy, it's just multiple across different sites that's difficult, though I've been known to do pretty well at it. I'll make an app later.

Even if i'm a little late to the party still would be a good idea especially to the more shy members of the orphanage. You know someone to talk to while they try to get to know others.

Well don't mind me. I just stared what I felt, if you are upto it then by all means continue. Personally I don't do so because then I usually end up skewing the RP with my own random quick posts. But all the luck to you. ~cheers~

I didn't get the actual number but good for you. You are the GM here so ofcourse you have to control a few more characters than anyone else.

I have 73 characters active across multiple sites so I may be fussing a bit. Apologies for any offence, it was unintended.

I don't know how you guys do it. My characters usually last a week or so due to the nature of the guild and their quickly dying role plays. I've got 2 active characters right now.. and 1 waiting patiently for the role play to start; and that seems like too much xD

Well for me personally, I maintain a rough sketch sheet in my google docs. Most of my characters are of the 3 archtyes I enjoy playing so it is much like dress up. You pick what is needed from the set, throw in a story sticking with the setting and hope for GM's input regarding what is appropriate and then ready to roll. Archtypes that are close to your heart are easy to RP simply because they are easy to slip in. Ypu just have to find what works for you and go mad xD that is the fun of RPing By text

My problem is mostly people's roleplays die before I can use any of them- and I get stuck in the constant loop of "heres my character, hello, -roleplay is dead-" Which just sucks. This roleplay has been a savior to me only because it's lasting so long- longer than most roleplays i've participated in this site- and i've been a member for over 4 years now (which is saying something).

Btw what's the longest role play you guys you have GMed? The longest one I had was a full-fledged zombie RP that had 7 parts and an epilogue to boot, and was probably somewhere within the 3000-4000 post count all up. I had to GM numerous main characters (about 12) and plenty more side characters and NPC's (zombies, bandits etc) as well as maintaining 3 other RP's on the same site. It was pretty full on. Especially since the posts were crazy fast.
