Amelia is, understandably curious. As she lived the first quarter of her life earthbound, (or, more precisely, Vuribound,) Amelia had always wanted to explore other worlds. To learn of the world around herself, she believes that she must adapt the way she acts to match that of others. Therefore, her true mind is rarely shown to others. Still, skilled observers, close friends, and those who catch her off-guard, may learn that Amelia is a bit of a child. In any situation, she truely cares for the safety of her people, wanting nothing but for their survival...

Bio

After birth on Vuri, Amelia was trained to be a defender for the other Varai. She lived on the planet until the age of thirteen years old, when a group of space pirates landed on her planet. She was sent to investigate what had happened, and decided to stow away on the spacecraft. This was the last time she ever saw her planet from the ground, as the craft took off shortly afterward. She hid for much of the ride, but was later found by the captain. Knowing the girl's usefulness and naivety, he took her as his daughter. Years afterward, Amelia had ascended to the role of second-in-command, and all it took was the death of the old captain for her to inherit his power...

It is a requirement for all legends to die. Even if the stories refuse to tell it, even the greatest of heroes fall one day. Whether this death is due to a mistake in battle, or because they are unable to do otherwise, it doesn't matter. And the captain must go down with her ship... Right? So I did what I had to do. Instead of appointing one of my colleagues the new captain, I ensured each one of them was in an escape pod before abandoning the vessel. After each non-varai life-form on the ship escaped, I was finally able to make my way to the escape pods. But the way out was blocked. I was soon trapped between the control room and the alpha hallway, each escape route blocked by rubble. The next thing I remember is waking up on a farm. I don't know how I got there, or why, but I had no reason to have survived. Something must have helped me. But what, and why?

The Varai are highly similar to humans. Here, only differences will be listed.
Hair color usually naturally comes in light tones between a light blue and a violet-silver. Often varai will use dyes to tint their hair colors like red, blue, green, and violet. They often allow their hair to grow long.
Additionally, they have long rabbit-like ears atop their head, instead of the primate ears which humans have. They come with a soft fuzz, colored often the same as the hair, but sometimes instead being a different color, such as a light brown or cream.
The Varai have longer feet and hands than humans, and are usually taller as well.

Traits:

Physically weaker than humans, but make up for it with powerful reflexes and senses
Able to learn very fast
Gather knowledge of most weapons quickly
Age at human-like pace until around the age of thirty, when aging slows to around a sixth of human pace.

History:

The Varai are believed to be the result of genetic experimentation a long time ago involving the movement of rabbit genes into human subjects. After developing the Varai, the man who created them was arrested for illegal genetic experimentation. His creations were released into the planet of Vuri, where their unstable DNA allowed them to evolve to survive the hostile environment. In the present time, Varai are not legally allowed to be outside of the planet of Vuri until they evolve enough to be unable to breed with humans.

Bio: A somewhat normal girl at birth, nothing much to say about her childhood she lived a not too fancy not too poor life. As she grew older she learned a bit of med schooling, but soon decided to be a chef instead. A very good chef people might say, she at a young age had mastered pancakes and was on her way to pizza making. Soon enough she got into space, working on stations here and there but not usually making friends along the way. She found quickly life away from home would be hard by 21 she was making very little money only barely managing to get by. By 23 she was near unable to
herself until hearing an ad about the recently built station and, with her dog Chunk, soon flocked to the chance of making a little extra money.

Personality: Curious about the universe in general, but has seen more than enough violence in missions. One of her first signs of sentience was a feeling of guilt as she retrieved data (on the passengers) from a (military) ship she was in the process of destroying, so she's trying to make up for it personally by being cute and cuddly. Sort of. What she thinks that means.
Job: Unemployed (Not so easy getting a job when you're autopilot and go AWOL)
Past Job: Fighter Pilot
Advantages: Skilled hacker, machine intelligence, a natural pilot (literally), high quality sensor suite, easy access to the greatest library of digital information (internet-equivalent access), Metallic Anomoly and Nonlinear Junction (metal and cybernetics) Detection. While she can see body heat and smell pheromones, [see Disadvantages]
Disadvantages: Has a lot of trouble identifying people, especially at detecting threat levels and emotional cues (she wasn't designed for it), is new to her body still, and is not trained in combat (whatsoever. Like fighting a tall baby).

Appearance

Eyes: When they are exposed, her irises are pink, and are clearly synthetic in nature up close.
Hair: Black, synthetic, some has clearly been replaced over time, giving a wide variety of textures and qualities.
Skin: Pale, even lighter than in that picture; it's dark in the cockpit.
Lithe and Sleek.

Bio: I think most of what there is is up there. She's only recently run away, and it's currently not known that she is sapient to the military, only that the program they had been using to coordinate the autopilot of an entire fleet went missing. She bought things with army money, too. Specifically her entire drone body. The features that would help her blend in are top of the line. She went cheap on things she thought would be easier to replace...meaning she spent as much as she could to fit in as a human. As of before the start of this story, she's in a shipping crate just being carried into Space Station 13.

Brief History: The Sera'Shuun was born out of the constant inter-tribal conflicts when they were still trapped on their home planet of Shuunhavk. Overcrowding, dwindling resources and the increasing need to leave the planet to continue the very survival of their species forced the six major tribes to band together, forming the basis of the Confederation which would be formally formed centuries later.

The Sera'Shuun expanding quickly, colonizing uninhabited planets within range, but soon they experienced their first taste of interstellar warfare. The Sera'Shuun, no strangers to combat, were quick to subdue their enemies and force them into becoming a client state of the confederation. This age of expansion - as it is called by Sera'Shuun scholars - lasted all of fifty years, after which inter-tribal conflicts arising from border disputes and colonizing rights exploded into a six-sided civil war. During the ensuring chaos, all but the most loyal client states slipped away, and many of them still retain independence to this day.

The war lasted a century, with neither of the tribes gaining any sort of advantage over the other. The rising costs and death toll of the war forced the tribes to come to an agreement and the signing of a document which stipulated each tribe's boundaries and colonizing rights, measured from the planet claimed by that particular tribe to be their home planet. Further changes, additions and removals lead to the formation of the Confederation.

Brief overview on culture: The Sera'Shuun are a very martial people. Having evolved on a hostile planet and surrounded by warfare ever since the beginning of their history, it is no wonder that the Sera'Shuun value martial prowess highly. Dueling is still a valid method to solve disputes, even matters concerning the state are sometimes resolved by such means. The confederation's emphasis on a strong military arm reflects this mindset.

The Sera'Shuun believe that every member of the confederation should always work towards the betterment of the state. Again, this is a holdover from their tribal origins, when the efforts of a single person could mean the difference between survival and destruction. As such, the Sera'Shuun has little time nor patience for criminals, as they are seen as individuals who are abhorrently selfish. Pirates caught by the Sera'Shuun rarely survive the encounter.

This does not mean that the Sera'Shuun are a violent race. They have a strict code of conduct every citizen is expected to follow. Honour is placed highly on the code, and whether or not this means respecting an enemy who fought bravely to the end or merely refusing to take an illegal job, every Sera'Shuun is expected to follow this code. Those who do not are punished proportionally to their crime, but there can be exceptions, such as when following the code would lead to causing harm towards the confederation.

Particularly severe crimes can lead to the individual being 'dishonoured'. This basically means that you are a non-person in the eyes of the confederation. Your rights are revoked and every trace of your existence erased. This punishment is not one which is handed out lightly. Only those who's actions bring shame or harm to the confederation as a whole are dishonoured. In some extreme cases, entire fleets and families can be dishonoured. Regaining one's honour is possible, but usually that leads to the death of the individual and only serves to remove the stigma placed on his or her family.

Of course, this is only a general overview of Sera'Shuun culture. Every tribe has it's own culture, but they rarely deviate from the main Sera'Shuun culture.

Appearance: The Sera'Shuun are, on average, taller than humans by at least three inches. An avian species, they sport double-jointed kneed which allow them to run much faster than a human. Their body is covered in hard, bony plates, almost like an exo-skeleton. These plates cover their entire bodies, with segmentations to allow freedom of movement and rudimentary facial expressions. Feathers, a biological holdover from their avian past, grow from the forearms and up along the spine. Usually, these are pressed flush against the body, but when flustered or simply in a panicked state, they stiffen and stick out at an angle. They sport three-fingered hands, each with a retractable talon.

There are differences between tribes, but theses are usually very minute differences that would be indistinguishable to the human eye. Gender differences exist as well, but again, these differences can be quite hard to tell. As a general rule, Sera'Shuun females tend to have rounder, smoother plates as compared to the rough and sharp-edged ones of the males.

Personality: Kezal is a very direct person, unafraid to voice his thoughts on the situation at hand. He takes his work seriously, and would do anything short of destroying the station just to catch a criminal. However, he does understand that some rules do get in the way and is more than willing to disregard them if it means completing his job. His serious and all-business demeanor makes him quite a hard person to like, but it cannot be denied that he is very good at his job.

Bio: Kezal is your average Sera'Shuun and lived the average life. He grew up, got conscripted and served five years with the Sera'Shuun army before being honorably discharged. He rarely speaks of his actions when with the army, though he does mention that he had served in several counter-insurgency, peacekeeping and counter-piracy missions. After he left the military, he spent a few years living with his family on Sikalhavk before realizing that the civilian life was not for him. Thus, he decided to take some time out to explore the galaxy, to see just exactly what he has been missing.

Of course, this being the real world, he needed money. Space Station 13 was recruiting and the rest, as they say, is history.

Reason for joining the station: It's a job, it pays and it's something he's good at.

Other: Not called the 'most armed cop of the station' for nothing. He carries with him at all times the following weapons:
- Bullpup, semi-automatic marksman rifle
- Automatic pistol
- Collapsible, non-lethal electroshock baton
- Functioning replica of his family sword (Cultural item, most Sera'Shuun carry one around with them as a memory of home)

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Age: 32

Personality: Arron for the most part take things in stride. Usually tried to find a middle ground where he's not so happy he's annoying everyone, or where he's so withdrawn people think he's an arrogant jerk. Arron usually has a smirk on his face and nods a lot as though he is hearing his favorite song in his head. Also possess a keen wit and insights. When it comes to his work though Arron becomes 180 degrees from happy fun-time guy to very serious and focused.

Job:Surgeon

Past Job(s): Emergency Room Surgeon and on-call surgeon

Advantage:Great sense of humor and easy going manor with a splash of sarcasm, Very good at his job

Disability:At times doesn't know when to ease up on the jokes and at times can seem to be insensitive. Also believes that there is no one better than him in the O-R (very arrogant concerning his work). Arron at times though is still haunted by the greatest loss of his life (explained in the bio)

Bio: Arron grew up in a rough neighborhood where you never knew where your next meal was coming from, but his parents did this best they could to teach him right from wrong and to be grateful for what he was blessed with. In high school Arron excelled not only in athletics where he was a great track and field star, but he was very smart to the point that he got a full ride scholarship into college.

In college Arron discovered that he had a gift in medicine and loved seeing how bodies worked, He eventually realized that being a doctor was where his calling was, but paying for med-school wasn't going to be easy. Working a job on campus only paid for so much, and trying to get a grant into Med-School was a competitive arena so Arron discovered a way to make money and also eliminate some of the competition; weekly poker games. Arron learned how to survive in his neighborhood by gambling so he started hustling fellow students out of hundreds of dollars a week his main target though fellow pre-med students. To the point he was making more at gambling than at his job in the library. The students who couldn't pay Arron he would agree to cancel their debt if they would drop out of the competition for the grant into Med-School.

Once Med-School was over Arron began working in hospital E-R as their emergency room surgeon and doing on-call. Arron met a young nurse by the name of Nancy Grant and the two were married. Arron was thrilled when he found out Nancy was pregnant with twins,and then tragedy struck. Nancy was killed in a shuttle accident just two weeks away from giving birth. Aaron was grief stricken and tried to move on, but everywhere he looked he saw reminders of Nancy and if he heard a baby cry it pained him that the child crying wasn't his.

After 2 years of grieving Arron knew it was time for a new start, so he saw an opportunity to join the crew of the newly constructed Space Station 13 and saw that his ticket out.

Reason for joining the station: To escape a painful past.

Other: Arron enjoys working out, still playing cards although his days of hustling are over (maybe),good scotch, and playing the saxophone.

I'm planning for some character development, though, and he is an ex-soldier, so perhaps there could be some empathizing there. Besides, he doesn't know that your character is AWOL. At least not until someone starts looking for her. Him. I don't know.

....May...May I just.....A lot of Artificial Intels are made to obey humans, asimov lawset is a foolproof lawset so that an AI cannot harm humans no matter what. It is usually added to a lot of different types of AI..*fitted out for this stations AI*

I say it doesn't have asimov because it went AWOL first, and because it autopilots a fighter *jet thing* so it can harm kill if it wants.

Let us talk about megaman, the dude who made megaman made him a free made robot, giving him rights to choose right and wrong. He also made all of the enemy bots before they were bad. He made them with freelawsets and AI. Whenever they were told to revolt and harm humans they could because they were allowed to.
