Bio: Growing up, Kelly was always the smart kid, however he was incredibly shy, so he never had many friends. This lead to him retreating into himself mostly, watching the Military Channel and reading a lot. This lead to a romanticized view of the military as a result of the heroics present to the boy. This lead to a strong desire to join the military, which was only reinforced when two of his cousins enlisted over his lifetime. He became a cross country runner in Middle School, and quickly fell in love So when he got in high-school and found a true friend, who wanted to enlist with him, that only strengthened his desire to join the army. The pair enlisted under an Option 40 contract so they were immediately training to be Rangers when he was 18.
Kelly was promoted thanks to acts of leadership while on deployment and his eventual seniority, including leading his squad in multiple raids against insurgents in the Middle East. He's received a Purple Heart and a Silver Star for wounds and acts of bravery during in one such raid. A sniper had the team pinned down, and a wounded soldier was out in the open. Kelly, at the time just a sergeant, didn't even ask for volunteers among his squad, he darted out into the night, running and ducking to secure his fallen comrade. He got the soldier back, but took a 7.62 round to the thigh while securing the man. The raid was completed, and Kelly was given 2 months of medical leave.
Kelly rejoined his unit soon after, just to immediately try out for the US Green Berets. He made it in, and soon after the shifters nation emerged. Kelly's Green Beret team was immediately assigned to monitor it. For days, Kelly's team has hovered outside the barrier before the whole team was given the option to stay on mission or go home. Kelly was the only one who decided to stay, so he is the only member of his team still on monitor duty.
Personality: Kelly is a determined man, and always does his best to finish what he starts, no matter what. He has become a more outgoing man since joining the Army, but he is still timid until he knows you well. Kelly is a kind guy and tries his best to help his friends, though he also has a vengeful side and rarely lets a wrong go unpunished, especially when directed at one of his friends. He is noble, and loyal to a fault, and always keeps his word, which has lead to conflict with authority figures before, particularly his parents
Views on the conflict: He believes the whole conflict is stupid in the first place. He believes since all these beings are sentient, they should just get along and keep forging forward.
Magical Capability: Limited. Kelly has shown the ability to enhance his basic senses with magic but little else
