The negotiations between Aedius and the old man went on for what seemed like a decade, neither of them wanting to give the other the better end of the deal. The Ragged Cultists stood diligent, ready in the event of a battle; as did the guards protecting the village leader. Aedius has said that he did not want this event to end in violence, but as the deep conversation went on, it seemed as though it would become the only deciding factor. Aedius was about to make another point when the village leader interrupted him.
"Leave this island this instant. We shall never join you, nor will we give you our Lacrima." The man said angrily. His outburst resulted in a period of silence, Aedius simply stared at the man. Emotionless once more, he broke the silence.
"I understand, but answer my question - Do you like the undead?" Aedius asked. The village leader gave him a look of utter disbelief.
"What kind of question is that supposed to be!?" The village leader said, clearly confused and enraged that someone could come to a peaceful island and begin talking about things which are completely unrelated.
"Answer." Aedius replied, becoming sterner.
"Of course not! How disrespectfu-" The village leader's response was cut short by a stab from Aedius, he thrust his katana into the elderly man's stomach, twisting the blade as he painfully removed it. The village leader dropped to the ground, face first into the sand. Both the Ragged Cultists and the guards watched in horror and surprise at Aedius' sudden action. Although it was to be expected when he asked that question.
"Then die." He said in a cold and cruel way. The two skeletons which remained on the boat both stood, and rushed down the bridge onto the beach where they brandished their swords and prepared for conflict. The four soldiers protecting the village leader stumbled backwards in fear, some even fell over.
"Kill them." Aedius said, ordering the cultists to attack.
