Not unfair to ask, it would be unfair to force him. But again, since he said no, I'm not going to continue.

If it was me, I probably would consider it, depending on how much I like it, and how much of the persona is based around the image.

Yeah though the look wasn't what I really wanted but I know this quite pretty artist. Currently she's making one for one of my other characters and one of Rivaan's. If it turns out well I'll probably ask for another.

Ah. Since I know what I can change, if I see something that is not quite what I want I can generally tweak it. Colors and things like that are usually easy to change.
