Illusion and invisibility go hand and hand. He (I) got creative, how can you blame that?

Magic detection- ehh, more like sensitivity, in a real fight, thats giving him less then a split second warning. In Nero's case, Ferrin was focused on him, and so he felt it, and Nero held it, this giving Ferrin time to sense it.

Telepathy- I have explained that his is not very powerful, he can't break into your mind, or whatever, but he can communicate, glean thoughts, and emotions.

Mine aside, what about instantaneous magic that can horribly cripple and weaken to the point of defeat, and that decreases magical and physical power.

Edit: I want to point out (kindly) that there are many powerful characters here, in any normal RP almost every one of our characters would be OP, but we have a balance here, each with their own strengths, and weaknesses for example, if Nero were to catch Ferrin by surprise with his curses, magic detection or no, Ferrin could lose. Don't start blowing the OP whistle, just because a character does something amazing or clever.

The difference between two powerful characters is who conserves it. Both characters were in an aggravated position, but Nero turned and walked away rather than doing something amazing or clever while you went to lengths to show off your character's ability. Even though it's true I've been singing Nero's praises, he's got weaknesses that keep him very much in check. Only one curse can be applied to anyone at one time, most have time limits, and if you're not expressly willing to be cursed, he has to either physically touch you or charge an object with the curse. Plus, even if he does touch you and inflict you with debilitation there's no guarantee he'd win. A child version of a formidable fighter could still beat him up, a person who's been struck blind or dizzy by a disease can still attack with magic, and so forth.

I didn't know magic detection was a thing, actually, so I can't fault you for that. None of my characters can do it, except perhaps Sanders.

Indeed, biting would be the most effective way. Usually Prince just licks, kisses, or the least effective, touches people(which is a reason he hugs a lot) to drain magic xD

At the part where Prince, Sasha, and I think Trinity met Nero. On the train a old man raved how Prince was a Pantera and was out to be a danger to wizards.

Otherwise, hasn't really been revealed if it's a curse or not.

Though when I did ask if it was preferred if his species was natural born, most people seem to favor it.

I suppose. I still don't think what we did was really equatable. I did my warbling in the OOC, and Ferrin's stance was so not passive that he was able to involve himself directly in my character without my participation.

On another note, I read the link in your signature. It's stimulating, if troubling. It's a lot to think about. I also looked down at the comments and witnessed what I term 'dregs argument'.

You did just drop an almost literal nuke, a miniature sun on the battlefield. My character uses Sun Magic and can't so something like that. You also admitted that Ferrin was capable of doing that more than once without having to charge up again. Admittedly he does need a bit of time to charge it up but it didn't seem like it took all that long and it left a literal blast crater and immolated basically everything in a sizable area. While I'll admit that a lot of the characters in this RP are very powerful I'm not really seeing the weaknesses that you say are there.

I agree. It is a lot to think about, and it may be false, but it is something interesting to chew on, and worth considering.

Hold up, I said he would need to charge up again, for something like that. Also, he is considered S-class power, which is the top of the top, although he is powerful for S-class. Just like some people are good at math, and others are better, Ferrin is (and this is on the CS) a genius with magic.

Well, his personality, itself is a problem, not to mention he did just fire that off nearby people who my or may not be able to defend themselves, thus proving error in judgment. His Aether magic is very powerful, but he feels the effects quickly, and using a ton of it (like he just did) has its backlash, like over using magic, but several times worse. This is due to spoilers about his magic which shall be revealed.

But effectively, he exausts himself very quickly when he uses it, and overusing it has adverse effects on his health, and on his body. Fortunately, these are not permanent, and they will heal with time. (These include, headache, tiredness, weakness, chills, fever, aches and pains, slowed thinking, slower healing, and a slew of other ailments.)

Edit: Although I compred it to a sun, and such, it wan't a nuke. Thats called poetic exaggeration.

Double edit: Honestly, I have expanded so much on the idea, that I really need to update his CS (considering it was made almost a year ago lol)

The kind of bottled-up resentment, infallibility, close-mindedness, and arrogance to the point of sweeping generalizations and rewriting history, all under the pretense of sound logic, reason, and intellect, that can only be found in the deepest dregs of the internet. It is different from the sort of rioting that occurs on forums or in youtube comments because of its pretense, when in reality the participants are usually anything but.
