I don't believe there is anything actually flammable in the dome other than the other wizards. What I said was that the flames were fusion based. The effective upshot of which is that until the point where they stop being supplied with power they are self sustaining. Though I kind of want to see that. He's just pounding away at the wall then suddenly: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@t2waveCool, and if I had to guess for personality, I wonder if it would slightly mimic Nidhogg's a bit. Not in his cannibalism, but in his complete disregard for others. Maybe the undead for can be extremely selfish and self-centered or something, and just brush the needs and wants of others aside as not being her problem.

It's not explaining yourself that's the problem. It's the uncompromising nature of the way in which you explain yourself. The pillar of fire that Dawn's summoned is based for the most part on the building blocks of his unique type of magic. If he cannot use that spell in its entirety then you are effectively saying he cannot use his magic at all. Which completely invalidates him as a character. I'd prefer being told when I've first created my characters that the GM isn't going to let me do anything with them at all.

With that in mind assuming that you're not telling me to bench Dawn for the rest of the RP there must be a less powerful version of this spell that he would be able to summon out of pure instinct at this moment. Which is where the aspects of the spell come in, certain things would need to be dialed back if the spell is being nerfed. You can see the list above. You need to work with people when problems arise, not just demand a solution without offering any sort of compromise.

Okay so the main issue is that given the nature of God's Wrath Nidhogg could hypothetically lead it around the city and burn the entire capitol to the ground which is not something that we'd want to have happen. Shortening how long it lasts is a good idea but would another option be to revise the mobility of the magic. Because Dawn is so new with his magic I could effectively turn it into simply an explosion of magical power that manifests in a massive pillar of fire, one which doesn't move or target anyone specifically other than those in the immediate blast radius. Would that work?

That's not what you said. You said I couldn't use this spell, any of it, at all, no matter the alterations I could not use this spell which is akin to saying that Dawn can't use magic.

If you'd said I had to dial back the magical power and force I would have done so and in fact working with the Co-GMs is more or less what I ended but doing but what you actually said was "No." No discussion, no compromise, no working with me to find something more fitting all you said was no and left it at that.

Fusion is fusion, unless you want everybody nearby to spontaneously combust or die of radiation poisoning I suggest you go for something simpler.

I personally suggest something like a gollem spell. A magical construct with enough intelligence for a basic task and an internal battery style power source.

I'd be glad to help. Honestly it seems like a pretty simple spell. The mage creates a giant pillar of fire shaped gollem, gives it a target and then pours all of his magic into the power source. The amount of power the mage has determines the size of the pillar, the speed it travels and how long it lasts.

Of course you need a certain level of magic just to form a limited version of the spell, which I believe was Caits problem. Your level one mage had just pulled off a level fifty move.

Well if he needed to dig he could combine all of his blades into a giant drill and make it spin rapidly, however if there's already a hole he can get out through it pretty darn quickly

Drill blades or not its going to take several minutes to get through what amounts to several feet of battleship armor plating.
