Yeah I understand that quite well. Unfortunately I never really know how to deal with it, I kinda just avoid talking to people so I don't bring them down with my own miserableness and wait for it to pass. Probably not healthy but eh.
<Snipped quote by Crimson Raven>
Is the dub good? I really liked One Punch Man though I'm starting to feel really put off of it thanks to my friends treating it like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Which I don't mind; they're allowed to like things and fanboy over things, that doesn't bother me. It's just that they've reached the level of defending that anime to the ends of the earth and constantly berate me for not worshipping it like it's the second coming of christ. I watched it, I really loved it and thought it was a great anime. But it's not my favorite... and that seems to be the issue for them because apparently One Punch Man, according to them, should be everyones fave anime and opinions? What opinions? Who dares have an opinion?!
... sorry, rant over. Tl:dr One Punch Man is great and my friends are weaboo trash.

One Punch man was awesome. One of my favourites for sure. However if it wasn't yours, then so be it. Your friends certainly are weaboo trash and you should just ignore them about it. (Or maybe just get new friends)
I'll defend it if someone started trash talking it without giving some legit reasons like I would any other anime I liked.
Like for example the fights in OPM are really easy to predict for obvious reasons XD If someone said that, then yes they're right and it's not really trash talking since the WHOLE POINT is that he is too OP and doesn't enjoy fighting people much anymore due to that fact. So if someone doesn't like predictable fights then it's probably not going to be an anime they enjoy.
Funny thing is is that my friends tend to be the opposite XD They tend to berate the stuff I like and say I should watch this or that instead and my taste is bad in anime. (...Even though I might've already watched that fucking anime five times with them already -_- )
Like I like DaL and my best friend hates it with a passion and will not stop reminding me -_-'
To be fair, the anime is worse once you read the light novels but besides the point! XD However I don't think it's quite as bad as he makes it out to be. He's just shitty that Yoshino turned into a side character basically.
He is also a bit of an anime classic lover (you know the kind who say the anime these days are shitty and terrible, but the old ones are amazing.)
<Snipped quote by Lunarlors34>
Yeah I never minded that because let's be honest, One Punch Man is a parody of action anime above all else. It uses satire to subvert the dumb tropes we usually associate with those types of anime to create it's unique brand of comedy. It's why I can never get involved in any of the discussions my friends have about it. Not that there isn't stuff to discuss, because there is clearly a world being built within the show, but I personally feel like the best way for me to experience the show is to just roll with it. Don't question anything and just smile through the mayhem that is Saitama kicking the shit out of everything.
Not that there's anything wrong with over analysing stuff. I mean personally I could probably write 5 essays on Wolf's Rain (Which is my favorite anime btw and also I did write an essay on it in highschool because I was obsessed) so I'm not judging my friends for having that same passion for One Punch Man. I'm just saying that the thing that makes that anime great to me, is how it doesn't have to be taken seriously. It's feel good humor with a lot of clever subversion of overused anime tropes. They just don't really get that, and that's where I take issue with them.

Oh yeah me and my best friend get into little arguments like that all the time! Our biggest argument has always been our feud over FMA. I've always thought that despite Brotherhoods merits, the original is a better show; whereas he feels the opposite. We've had pretty big discussions arguing the points but it never becomes personal. We always end up agreeing that both shows are good and it just comes down to personal preference.
That was until he rewatched them both and his opinion changed and he now agrees with me.
SO SUCK ON THAT DUDE I WIN.
Also I kind of have the same opinion as your friend, but to a lesser extent. I feel like my big issue with most anime these days is that they never seem to get that high of a budget. So I could get really hooked on a show and then it just abruptly ends or gets given a second season that doesn't really tie shit together (I'm looking at you 'Spice and Wolf' and 'Tokyo Ghoul') because they didn't seem to have the budget to fully tell the story of the original manga/novel. Which always leads me to think 'Well why didn't I just read the manga/book to begin with and save myself the effort?'... also there's a lot of ecci garbage out there in the world and in the words of our lord and savior Hayao Miyazaki...
<Snipped quote by Leslie Hall>
On the subject of FMA, I've read the majority of the manga and watched both anime adaptations. Brotherhood follows the plot of the manga far more closely than the original FMA, and on a personal level, I find that enjoyable. However, fuck Netflix, because they have every single FMA: Brotherhood episode but the very last one.

I cried over An anime and a videogame, so I mean. Yeah.
But if you ever want to feel happy, just remember Teddie from Persona 4. (I haven't played Persona yet. But ive played 1-3 as well as Shin Megami Tensai 4, Digital Devil saga 1-2, Digital devil survivor... I really like Shin Megami Tensai games.)
Drew shook Ferrins hand, "I don't think it will be as hard as what you'll face." Drew replied "it was a pleasure to meet you. As for choosing s guild, don't go for statistics or popularity. Go for the one that suits you best. That feels like home. Why do you think I choose the council?"
