"Damn this place is freezing! You got a light?"

Two men were stationed on top of a wintery mountain in the Alps. Anyone would see two mountain climbers, but in reality, they were just above the entrance to a mountain based that is said to once belong to Doctor Johann Schmidt, the former leader of Hydra. A bitter chill blew on the two, them shuddering in their winter gear. They both held assault guns, staring at the rather beautiful sight. One man puffed out a cloud of smoke from his lighted cigarette. "Don't know why we even guard this place... No one's going to ever find it! this hasn't been used since World War II!"

As the two talked rather loudly, a man in a red white and blue uniform silently climbed the mountain towards them. It was rather easy for him, even with the rather heavy shield strapped to his back. He didn't mind the heights, and it didn't tire him out, what he was nervous about was slipping. For Captain Steve Rogers' recon mission, he couldn't wear a harness without being loud. Yes, he just scaled a mountain without any gear.

As he climbed a few more yards until the top, a rock gave way under his hand. He silently widened his eyes as he caught himself, holding his body with one hand, dangling, not daring to move and give away his position. the two men stopped talking. they obviously heard something. Steve slowly used his free hand to pull out a pistol from his side holster, ready for a fire fight, even if he was hanging off the side of a very tall mountain.

He heard the crunching of snow underneath some boots, slowly moving towards the edge. Steve slowly started to climb again, until he was right at the edge. He then saw a pair of legs, stopping cautiously at the edge as well. Steve in a flash grabbed the man's leg, and pulled him off the cliff, his screaming echoing off the mountains. Captain America leapt up, firing a couple rounds at the other guy before rolling on his shoulder, and grabbing his shield in a fluid motion. Bullets hit the iconic shield, but falling at Steve's feet. He took off the shield, and swung it at the man. It hit him hard in the chest, and flew right back at Steve. he caught it, and put it back on his arm, the unconscious man lying in the snow.
Steve landed on the metal floor, the hatch to the cold mountain letting a bit of snow in. The door didn't stand a chance against Cap's shield. "I'm in." Rogers quietly spoke in the comms system in his wrist. The Cap looked as patriotic as ever. Blue armor with red and white stripes on his waist, and a white star in the center. He had his iconic red white and blue shield on his left hand, and a pistol in his right. His piercing blue eyes looked around. It seemed clear for now. But from the information Fury gave him earlier, he knew it wasn't.

Steve ran silently, and quickly. He saw a man walking down the hall the same way he was. Cap leapt up and hit the back of his head hard with the shield, not breaking the momentum as the body toppled over. he saw two others as well. He threw the shield at a man walking over to him, jump kicked a man in the chest, and grabbed the shield as it ricocheted off the wall. He memorized the blueprints of the base. Not only from the S.H.I.E.L.D. data base, but also because 70 years ago, he was in this very base.

"Peggy..."
"I'm here...."
"I'm gonna need a rain check on that dance."

As Steve kept running in and knocking out soldiers, he knew he was getting closer. He was being sent in to receive lost information about the origins of S.H.I.E.L.D... It was so much different now... The place clearly wasn't used in years. It was like it was out of time. just like him.

"All right. A week next Saturday at The Stork Club."
"You've got it."
"Eight o'clock on the dot. Don't you dare be late. Understood?"

Steve turned the corner, and dove away in surprise that five men walked towards him. They now knew he was here. Cap from around the corner threw his shield, knowing the exact angle where the shield needed to hit the wall to hit at least one of the men. As the shield went flying Steve fired off a few shots, hitting two of them, one being hit by the shield, and the other one still firing. His shield landed on the floor a few feet away. Steve dove for it, grabbing it, and in a roll used it to block the oncoming bullets, He inched closer until he was in front of him, swung the shield to smack the gun away, and used his free hand to pistol whip him. He also took out the groaning body that got hit with the shield first.

He opened the door to a now modernized version of what it used to be. Steve put the shield back on his back, and walked over to a console. He wasn't yet tech savvy, but the tech guys back home said he only had to insert the thumb drive. he plugged it in, and watched the screen auto fill everything for him.

"You know, I still don't know how to dance."
"I'll show you how. Just be there."
"We'll have the band play something slow....I'd hate to step on your..."

The sudden flash of being back on the aircraft carrier appeared in his head. How the only way to save thousands of lives was to sacrifice himself. To leave everything behind so that the world can live without the fear of Hydra or the Nazis any longer... He then thought of his very first kiss. On the back of a moving truck chasing after the same air craft carrier... To anyone it would sound badass, and heroic... But it was one of the hardest things he's ever done... But he wasn't going to say he regretted it. he did what was right.

The data was uploaded. he snapped back to reality when he heard shouts coming from the hall. Steve grabbed the hard drive, and ran out of the door. "There he is! Shoot the bastard!" Steve ran the opposite way, the bullets hitting the shield as he desperately ran. Although he was a super soldier, bullets still hurt very much.

He made his way to the main room, where a large window showed the Alps mountain range. It wasn't ideal, but it was his only choice. Steve took off the shield from his back, and held it in front of them. Then he dove out the window.
"Here's the thumb drive."

Steve Rogers stood in military fashion in front of Nick Fury's desk. Steve was covered in dirt and pine needles from the mountain, and his face covered in small cuts. Nick stared at him, and nodded. "Good work... A lot of important stuff on this drive..." He said, eying Steve. He knew he had something on his mind. "Got something to tell me? Or we gonna have a staring contest?"

"I was just wondering if..."

"Ooooh... I understand... I'm sorry, Steve. This isn't for your eyes... high ranks only... But in a few days this might slip in to the databases for Level 6 access...." Nick said slyly. He knew he wanted to know if Peggy Carter was mentioned in the files he obtained. He couldn't blame the guy. "Why don't you take a day off? You have been working hard for a while now."

Steve slowly shook his head. "You're right. I still got a list of things I missed in the past seven decades to catch up on..." He said half jokingly. he still had to watch Episode VI of Star Wars, as well as the "Fuck" era of the 1970's. "You're dismissed until we need you again, Cap. Good work."
Steve Rogers pulled up to his Brooklyn apartment complex on his classic style Motorcycle . As he climbed off, he noticed a moving truck parked out... He wondered if he got a new neighbor. The apartment next to his has been empty for a couple of months, ever since he started living there actually... he figured it wasn't just a coincidence.

He climbed the front steps, stepping out of the way of a couple movers, giving a smile and nod as they stared at him awe struck.

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“I said no!” BANG! a blonde’s annoyed voice echoed as she blinked her blue eyes in irritation and turned to look at the flaming redhead standing next to her.

“Just try it, this is a new gun they’re just coming out with. It’s powerful, functional and light weight.” The redhead said insistently holding the gun to the blonde who proceeded to push it away with her free hand that had released from the gun she was holding.

“I’m an old fashion kind of girl, and that goes with old guns too. It may be a bit heavy but it packs a powerful punch.” She said with the same instance to the redhead as she had done to her. She watched Black Widow roll her blue eyes as the blonde returned with one of her own. If the men thought they were competitive at S.H.I.E.L.D., they obviously never saw women at the firing range. “Same time next week?” The blonde asked as she dropped the empty clip from the gun and tossed it into the refill bin and hung up the gun.

“You know it.” Black Widow called back as she lined up her shot and began to firing, the blonde leaving the range with as much confidence as she had when she walked out. This was the story of Agent 13, or Shanon Carter and her crazy time at S.H.I.E.L.D.
Agent 13 was a lot more important than people gave her credit for. Her hands were dipped into everything including close work with Bruce Banner and uncomfortably close with Tony Stark and not in a fun way; more in a way of ‘Mister Stark if you touch me again I’m going to introduce your face to the table, multiple times.’ There’s a certain line that shouldn’t be crossed and Tony loved to see just how much he could push Agent 13 before she’d threaten him and it’s gotten to the point that everyone’s rather used to hearing the threats. Though Bruce has voiced on numerous occasions that he hopes it happens in the lab so he can see it.

The blonde ran her fingers through her down curly blonde hair as she flicked open the file that had been handed to her. She needed to retrieve a cylinder from a private source and bring it back to S.H.I.E.L.D. three days from today at 12:30pm in a certain section of New York City. Simple is as simple does. Shrugging to herself, she tucked the folder in against her hip as she walked into Nick Fury’s office and shut the door behind her. “You called for me?”

“Yes come on in Sharon, I have a mission for you.” In private he’d call her by her secret identity name instead of her agent number. It was simple and easy.

“What’s the mission sir?” But Agent 13 rarely called him Nick or even Furry to his face.

When he finished explaining what he wanted her to do, trying to use a clever wording to dodge the truth of what the mission actually was. But the look on Agent 13’s face said that she wasn’t too happy of her actually assignment. “I’m a babysitter?”

“You’re a neighbor to someone who needs looking after; he’s adapting to the area and all the things newly available for him now-a-days.”

“I’m a babysitter.” She repeated, her voice still filled with annoyance.

“You’re a guardian of someone very important to this world, your job is just to keep an eye on him. We’ll cover you’re apartment costs. You’re moving in now, here are your keys.”

As he threw the keys at her, the blonde caught them and glared at him in annoyance. “I’m a babysitter… great. Thanks sir, I’ll be sure he eats his vegetables.” As she left, she caught the muttering about ‘thanking me later’ from her boss but chose to ignore it. She was living next door to someone to babysit them and make sure they don’t hurt themselves. If it’s Black Widow they’d more bullet holes in the apartment complex than normal. 8 is normal right?
At least Nick Fury was nice enough to help her get a moving company but the company didn’t have enough people to help. Sharon had changed into an oversized comfortable tan sweat shirt that hung off her right shoulder; her blue eyes blinked behind a pair of oversized glasses with thin lenses and hair in a bun up on top of her head (why, because people tended to not recognize someone when they have glasses on and their hair up). Her body stressed carrying a box up the stairs ahead of the movers

It’s not that the box was heavy it was that she lacked footing, not understanding the new apartment stairs and as she went to step up another one, her foot missed and she let out a small shriek, her feet fumbled behind her as she took a couple steps back trying to catch herself but to no luck, a few more steps and she felt the weight of the box she was carrying counteract her and cause her upper half to start to fall backwards as her feet slipped out from under her. Really? Really?! Any way this girl could die in her job, she is ended by a staircase and an unruly box! Another shriek left her as she felt herself starting to fall backwards.

Steve wore a dark brown leather jacket, with a blue t-shirt, jeans, and some boots. He tossed his keys up and down as he climbed up the stairs. He wondered who was moving in. He wasn't really social. Sure, he goes on missions with Tony, and Natashia, and all that... but they weren't considered friends... But someone he did get along with was a man named Sam Wilson. A pilot veteran who now counsels fellow veterans. He was deep in thought until he heard a scream right above him. A woman with a box tripped and fell. Steve dropped his keys and caught the woman, he stepped back a bit to make sure they both didn't fall. "I got ya." He said, pushing her up gently so she can get her balance again. "You alright? need help carrying something?" He asked her. Steve picked up his keys, and looked up to look at the blonde haired woman. It was natural for him to help anyone... "You ah.... You moving in?" he asked. Of course she was!

Steve was literally a perfect human, but he had difficulty talking to women still. he was still that kid from Brooklyn.

Her tennis shoes slipped out from under her as her body in the blue jeans began to tumble backwards. Great just great! This is how the niece of the great Peggy Carter dies. Suppose her parents and even her aunt would have a good laugh at her when she got to wherever she was supposed to go after she died. Surprisingly enough she kept a tight grip on the box as she tumbled, even more surprising she felt something grab her back and waist. A look of surprise moved across the blonde’s face because she knew it couldn’t have been the movers, they had something in their hands too so who could it have been.

When she turned her attention to her savor, she found it was a tall well-built man in a leather jacket and a blue shirt. Her eyes expanded slightly behind the glasses seeing him, not because she knew who she was; in fact she was rather clueless. She actually was surprised that he was a charming looking as he was but his questioning of if she was moving him made her giggle softly before she shook her head; “Nope just taking my things for a walk.” She said with a small giggle and then beamed at him. “Yeah I’m in 5B. I’m Sharon.”

Looking down, she noticed the men were climbing the stairs. “I think there are two boxes left, I suppose if I could have some extra help to let the guys leave earlier if you have time. What’s your name?” She asked sweetly.

She was attractive to say the very least. Her blonde hair up, glasses... and those eyes.... A familiar look in them. He gave a shrug and embarrassed laugh. "yeah... dumb question...." He said with a smirk. "Really? I'm just next door." He said, as evidence showing him his set of apartment keys. When she said he could help her, he gave a nod. He was always happy to help. He walked down the stairs, and let her tell the guys that they can finish it off. He took both of the boxes, lifting them with ease. Then she asked about his name. "Steve Rogers." The blonde haired man said, giving a glance at her then focusing on climbing the stairs. He didn't know how she would react to the news. Most people asked for a picture, or autograph... He couldn't blame them. He did that a lot way back when...

"And yours?" He asked quickly, letting her take the lead to her new apartment.

Wwwwooooowwwwww babysitting suddenly just got to be the best job she could have ever gotten! Why would this hunk of man need someone to watch over him? He could adapt to anything including her. An eyebrow rose slightly as she looked down at his key with her blue eyes before flicking the gaze back up to his face. What did she do right to get this job?! Moving was very much worth it!!!

"Okay," She said a bit speechless that he would actually help. As he walked down the stairs she waited for him and as the men passed she told them that he was helping her with he last boxes and they could leave. They seemed to be in a daze as they walked for some reason and she pushed her eyebrows together trying to figure out what that was about. But she just shrugged of off and started up the steps as he caught up with her; surprise on her face as he carried the two boxes with surprising ease.

"Nice to meet you Steve." Steve Rogers, yeah there's plenty of other Steve Rogers out there. There's no way this is thee Steve Rogers from her aunt's stories or the Captain America of S.H.I.E.L.D. Yeah right. "I'm Sharon, Sharon Carter. Come on up; I'll make you something for lunch as a thank you if you'd like." She said with a charming beaming smile. Fury couldn't be mad if she watched him in her place; she was still watching him right?

"A Pleasure, Miss Carter." Steve replied as she told him her name. Sharon Carter.... He liked that name. When offered lunch he gave a nod and smile. "Not even officially moved in yet and you're already willing to give your neighbors food." He said jokingly. She lead them to her apartment door. He walked in after her, taking a look around. It was covered in boxes, obviously. She didn't have time to start unpacking. "Where do you want these?" he asked, looking around the room. "You brought a lot of stuff... Where'd you move from--if you don't mind me asking." Steve added, placing the two boxes down, then turning to look back at Sharon. He hasn't been this friendly with anyone in a while. As soon as he woke up he was questioned by Nick Fury. He was teased by Tony Stark, and most of the other people he met treated him as either a soldier, or a celebrity. This was a nice change of pace. Maybe it was because she didn't really know who he was. She was making him feel not like a super soldier, but just a guy from Brooklyn.

“Please,” She said insistently as they climbed the stairs together. “Call me Sharon. There’s no need to be formal.” A formal guy in New York City; well this was unexpected. Why was Fury having her watch over him? A strapping young man like him must be able to hold his own with anything and considering he was carrying two boxes that were heavier than the ones she had in her arms only confirmed the obvious fact that he could take care of himself.

“Well if you have a good neighbor you want to stay on good terms with them right? You’re helping me with my things, and I’ll bribe you into liking me as your neighbor with food.” As they got to the door she turned to him, giving him a playfully innocent smile, a twinkle in her blue eyes behind the glasses as she looked up at him; god he was so cute and she looked a mess! “Don’t judge the place, I just moved in!” With that she pushed the door open with her foot and the two walked inside the box-scattered house.

As he sat them down where she instructed she watched his muscles flex. Holy jesus… why was Fury wanting this guy watched, to make sure he ‘adapted’ to the city. There’s no way this man wouldn’t be able to adapt. Women would throw themselves at him, men wouldn’t mess with him and there’s not a place in New York City that wouldn’t want a good looking strong man as an employee. Why was this happened? And how LUCKY was she? “Oh!” She said snapping back into reality as she placed her box onto the small coffee table in front of the couch. “I’m from Virginia originally than moved to the State of New York; so it was only time that I migrated to New York City. If you’d like to sit down and watch some TV I’ll make some lunch.” With that she turned around, ready to turn on the TV only to see that the men didn’t take the time to put it on her TV stand.

The blonde allowed her hands to drop to her sides in disbelief; she finished putting together the stand before they brought up the TV and place the heavy thing on the ground instead of the tough metal stand that was meant to hold it. “Well I could hook up the cable and you could watch TV on the floor…” She said obviously disappointed that the TV wasn’t where it was supposed to be but at least she was still being friendly and offering to entertain him while she cooked. “Do you like Caesar salad? I make a mean Chicken Caesar salad.” Her voice was polite, warm and inviting. It’s hard to believe someone like her would work for S.H.I.E.L.D. She slid into her open kitchen and pulled some chicken from the fridge while she placed a pan for one of the kitchen boxes onto the stove top and turned it on. “I hope I’m not keeping you from anything Mister Rogers.”

Being a man from the 40's and a military man made Steve Rogers very formal... And just like a lot of things, that changed. "Alright, Sharon." He said with a flash of white teeth, following her in the room. When she said she was from Virginia, Steve nodded as if in approval. "We'll I hope the big apple is treating you nice. I called this city home my whole life." He put his arms down in military fashion out of habit, looking at her as she talked.

When she brought up the tv he turned to see that it clearly wasn't in the spot she wanted it. "I can take care of that too, if you want. You just owe me another lunch sometime." Steve said jokingly, walking over to the tv, and once again lifting it with ease, and set it gently on it's intended table. "Ceased salad sounds great. Thank you." Steve said. He would pretty much eat anything in this era. Everything was boiled back then.

As he expressed everything she couldn’t help but feel like he was a military person, or an ex-military person or someone raised in a military family. It was interesting interacting with someone who was formally involved in the military; they tended to have a lot of respect for the ‘average’ citizen and Sharon was Agent 13 was no different. She had an amazingly large amount of respect for the people she got to protect and he seemed to give off that same vibe.

Opening her full lips to protest him lifting the TV by himself she nearly dropped the head to lettuce onto the floor. She was going to have to talk to Fury about who the hell she was babysitting that could pick up a 300 pound TV like one would pick up a cotton ball! She fumbled to catch the lettuce; thankful his back was to her and she placed it down on the cutting board she had fished out of one of the boxes after seasoning the chicken. “You know Steve you keep doing things around my house and I’m going to owe you a lot of lunches!” She said with a laugh to her voice as she cut the lettuce. Her skills taught to her by S.H.I.E.L.D. made her slicing of the vegetables faster and more efficient than any normal person. Sliding the lettuce, carrots, and celery into the two suppurate bowls she turned her attention to the chicken and tossed it up into the air before catching it in the pan. “Can I ask what you do for a living Mister Rogers?”

Steve walked over to the counter and watched her create lunch. "I don't need lunches... you can just help me add my grand piano collection in my apartment sometime." Steve said, obviously joking. He couldn't play an instrument to save his life. When asked what he did for a living, he thought for a second. "I ahh... I travel across the world. And help people. Or at least I think. I don't know." Rogers said. The more and more time he spent with S.H.I.E.L.D., the more he questioned who were the good guys and who were the bad guys. But he wasn't going to pull this soap opera scenario on his new neighbor. He was supposed to be off for a few days... and Natashia always said that he was too busy working, and he should meet a nice girl. "No one would hesitate if you asked them out!" She would always say. Steve would always refuse that idea with him being "too busy", but he knew another part of it was because he couldn't stop thinking about Peggy Carter.

"What about you? What made you move here?" Steve asked, his blue eyes kept glancing back at her face, and then to the food she was preparing.

When he said he traveled across the world and helped people her mind raced, that calculating brain that S.H.I.E.L.D. valued so much processed what he could be. She didn’t think Fury would want her to watch someone who was involved with the company so she eliminated involvement there. Maybe he worked for the FBI or the CIA or some special section of the military. That would explain his actions when he’s around her. There’s nothing wrong with that, she understood the importance of helping people and as she tossed the chicken once again, a sweet closed mouth smile crept across her full lips as she turned her blue gaze up to him. “I’m sure you do Mister Rogers,” Refusing to call him Steve until he gave her the okay like he did her. “I’m sure you help many people; just remember that the little things go a long way.” She thought about the story of Captain American and how he went from being someone who didn’t have anything going for him but a good and honest heart and how much of an impact he made on the world; in all of her Aunt’s stories she only expressed joy, pride and happiness about him; she never once blamed him for anything or felt any sort of negativity towards him.

As he asked what brought her to the area she couldn’t help but laugh. “I do a lot of computer work.” And science, machine work, research, security, high tech things and the sorts but he didn’t need to know about that. “So my goal is to get on somewhere to do something good, like security systems that will help protect people. I’d love to get a job where I know that I’m helping protect the little guy because there will be little guys after him and hopefully; he’ll be inspired to protect them just like I was inspired by someone myself.” She was close with her Aunt Peggy and didn’t want to think or talk about it so she brushed off the topic by starting a new conversation and pulled out the chicken and diced it up on the cutting board before sprinkling it onto the salads and pulling out clean forks from a box and handing him the bowl with a fork in it and the dressing. “We can sit on the couch in the living room if you’d like. The table and chairs are packed with things it’s the only thing open.” As they walked back into the living room she proceeded to ask, knowing full well she’d need the information. “Where would you suggest I go since I’m in town? What’s the first place I have to go to?”

Steve listened to her talk. Saying how he did make those good decisions... He only hoped that he did. That's all he ever wanted to do in life. Then she talked about her career, a connection started for Steve. she was here to help the little guys as well. "I've never been tech savvy, so as a guy who can't figure out how to operate an online pizza delivery menu, thanks for helping out the little guys like me, who doesn't have a clue on how to do that.... And if I'm allowed to call you Sharon, you're allowed to call me Steve." Steve said humbly. He followed her to the couch, holding his meal in his hand. "Places you got to go...." Steve repeated, thinking about the question. "Well the newest attraction is Stark Tower, right?" Steve said with a shrug. "But as a guy whose seen this city in and out... There's a quiet pizza place on 5th." the back alley behind it was the bullies' favorite place to pick on kids he thought in his head. "Best pizza I've ever had... although, I heard there's this Ray's place that has it beat." He never ate at that place, since it was founded while he was still a Cap-sicle

"You have to go to a genuine ball game, but don't join the band wagon and root for the Yankees." Steve is still a die hard Brooklyn Dodgers fan, and he was crushed when he found out they moved to Los Angeles. "The small diner across the street of Stark's tower is the best place to get apple pie." Steve loved apple pie, of course he was going to bring it up! "And of course Lady Liberty is a sight to see. Everything else though i'm not that familiar with... a lot has changed in New York since I last visited. What with my... job, and the battle of New York." He shrugged, and took a bite out of his salad

A small laugh left her when he mentioned that he couldn’t use the online pizza delivery menu. “I’m glad I could help a little guy, no matter how big he is. Then again, we’re all little people at heart. At least that’s what I like to believe.” Listening to him talk about New York City made her smile, he didn’t seem to know all that much but the new things that had happened due to the battle of New York. Oh Stark was proud of that even though part of Sharon’s job was some of the paperwork. Spoil smart-guy was obsessed with himself that if he could he’d have statues made of himself… oh wait, he does; if you count the Iron Man ones. Stupid Stark.

“So pizza, baseball and apple pie.” She repeated with a cheese grin as she sat down on one end of the couch and tucked her long legs under her. For a girl she was rather tall at five foot eleven inches and most of it was in her legs. “This sounds like my kind of city, though I’ll have to make a habit of running or I might get fat.” She stirred the contents of her bowl before sticking the fork into the chicken and lettuce. “Though I have to question the apple pie, my family’s recipe is a classic and rather hard to compete with. I have yet to climb Lady Liberty or see the island itself but I’ve passed it a few times. It does look breath-taking. Is it that neat up close?”

Steve awkwardly laughed, looking down a bit embarrassed. He hasn't walked around New York since the 30's... "Yeah... Sorry im not much of help. A lots changed since I've had the opportunity to actually look around." Steve said giving a look of apology. When she talked about the apple pie, he have a smile. Steve was a sucker for Apple pie. "I'll be more than happy to be the judge of that. I've had some good apple pies in my life." He said with a smile, leaning forward a bit. "And as for lady liberty, she's always a good site. A true icon for our country.... A lot of history too. Everyone should see it sometime in their life." Steve said with a nod.

Steve hesitated for a moment. He had an approtunity to have a friend... Well, he did think she was very attractive. She was nice, smart, seemed to stick up for what's right... "If you ever need a... Someone to see it with--Lady Liberty with... I haven't been in a while...." God he was helpless!

Steve could tell her he just passed gas and she would forgive him in a heartbeat with that apologetic look. Her heart slammed against her chest and she felt as though she could melt on the couch instantly. Mentally, Sharon kicked herself. How dare she think like this!! She was here to do a mission. They moved her from her apartment here so she could keep an eye on him and here she was feeling… feelings against him. NO! Bad Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Before she could stop herself from saying it, “I bet mine’s the best!” God what was she getting herself into.

His invite was unexpected. Oh god what was she getting herself into but his sudden shyness was adorable as he stumbled over his words like a baby horse learning its first steps. A small smile crept across her full lips as she munched on the salad watching him spit out his words. The corners of her lips curled into a smile she couldn’t help and once she finished swallowing, the closed mouth smile expanded showing her straight pearly white teeth. “I’d love to have someone to go see it with, but if you want an apple pie taste you’ll have to earn it.” She said with a playful sternness to her voice as she pointed an empty fork at him. “Apple pie isn’t free, you’ll have to lift heavy stuff and take me to Lady Liberty. You might even have to pick me up which can be a traitorous journey across the hallway!” She had not been so playfully dramatic in a long time; it was nice to talk to someone outside of work. But how would Fury take this? Oh well, who cares. He’s just another guy to be watched right? What better way to watch him than to hang around him?

Leaping out of a moving airplane 30,000 feet in the air? no problem. scale a mountain with no harness? piece of cake. Lead a team of super heroes against an army of aliens? Childs play! But talking to Miss Sharon Carter? The hardest and most embarrassing thing he's ever done. He was Captain America, yet talking to an attractive woman made him feel like he was getting his butt kicked in some alley again. He couldn't eat the delicious food anymore. He felt like he was about to be laughed out of her apartment. But instead, her words were... inviting. "There's not a price big enough to stop me from trying an apple pie claimed to be the best." he said with a laugh. His heart was pounding out of his chest. Was she accepting his date? Well, he had to help her carry some things, but he didn't care! He ate and finished all of the ceaser's salad, gaining his appetite back and not wanting to be rude to not finish. "Just tell me when those heavy things need to be lifted, and when you're free to see the Lady Liberty, and I'll take that long torturous walk across the hall." Was that a bit of confidence?

Steve stood up after finishing. He didn't want to overstay his welcome, or make himself look like an idiot anymore. "Thank you very much for your hospitality, and food, it was delicious-- the food, was delicious..." smooth, Rogers...

Did she just accept his date? Wait… was this a date or was she just getting her hopes up considering she hasn’t gone out in so long; much less had a so-called ‘friend’ outside of the work environment in so many years. But was this a date or just two people trying to get to know each other more? How much was she allowed to know about him? How much could she honestly tell him? What would Fury think? Say? DO?! You know what… screw it. She deserved to have a good time with someone and there was no reason it couldn’t be him.

Rising to her feet, after finishing her food, she placed her bowl down on the coffee table and followed him to the door. Her small frame leaned against the outline of the door as one arm stretched up and hand rested against the top of the door thanks to her height. “If you’re free tomorrow, and willing to make the long and horrible journey to my front door, I have tomorrow off; I’m sure I can find something heavy for you to lift. Say… two o’clock. If you’re free that is, I don’t want to pressure you or anything.” She said quickly as she realized her joking could easily come across as pushy or demanding. She didn’t need to be like that, she wasn’t at work and that surely wasn’t the impression she wanted to give off to such a gorgeous hunk of man who was as shy as a guy from comic-con trying to talk to a cheerleader. He wasn’t someone she wanted to push away… at all!

Steve's mind was racing. He hadn't been this nervous since... well... his first and only kiss with Peggy. He stood outside her door as she talked, Steve couldn't get the smile off his face. He nodded, looking down at the ground then back up at her. "2... 2 O'clock sounds great." He said, his hands now in his pockets... He started to stare a bit more than he should have. Her long legs, curvy body, blonde hair, and those familiar eyes! Let's not be known as the creep across the hall, Rogers... he warned himself. He blinked giving another nod. "If you need anything, my door's always open." He had no idea that she was more than capable of protecting herself, but that didn't stop Steve's helpful nature.

He stayed out in the hall stupidly until she closed her door. As if he didn't look dorky enough... Steve kept his smirk as he turned and pulled out his key, opening the door to his own apartment. The home of Captain America was probably something you were expecting. An old American flag was framed on the hallway wall. There it had a list of signatures, and small notes of thank you of celebrities, important icons, and people he saved in World War II. There were vintage posters hanging around, and a replica of his legendary shield. Other than that, the apartment was modernized, with equipment Steve would have never thought he would have needed (seriously, what was wrong with a manual can opener?). In the living room he had a large T.V, a vintage radio, and a comfortable leather couch. He tossed his jacket aside, and plopped on the couch.

He actually had a date! Was it a date? or was it just "hanging out?" He didn't know... but he felt good about it.

"You have no idea how to talk to a woman, do you?"

Her voice rang through his head... He knows that she would have wanted for Steve to move on... Steve knew that she did. He visited his section in the Smithsonian, and it broke his heart to see that she was interviewed about him... and it was a bitter sweet moment when he found out that she married... maybe this was a sign. When he had a break in his work (which he wasn't too trusted in anymore), a very nice and beautiful woman moves in? Steve took a lot of huge decisions in his life... and jumping in the dark to try and get a date with Miss Sharon Carter was a big one...

Did she know who he was? Would that change anything if she did? Would she be grossed out that she was technically going to spend her day tomorrow with a 92 year old man? Or is she doing this because she felt bad for the guy? He didn't know... but he hoped that it was Steve that she liked.

Steve got up from the couch as the news reported on Tony Stark making a flashy appearance at a restaurant today. He opened the list of song era's and artists to play, selected it, and let it play in his apartment. He turned off the volume of his tv, changed in to athletic fit clothes, and did what he always did when he was home: exercise... but this time, it wasn't Peggy Carter that was on his mind.

Shutting the door was heartbreaking. He was SO good looking and so innocent that she just wanted to cuddle him like a teddy bear for hours and hours but had she stayed at the door staring at him any longer he’d think she was some form of weirdo and probably never want to see her again. That’s the last impression she wanted to make… for the job’s sake of course, of course… right?

As the door clicked shut she turned around, placing her small back against the door frame and allowed her whole body to shiver with a delight she hadn’t felt in years. The last boyfriend she had was in high school so it’s been a long time since she had any attention from a man… unless you count Tony, who is more of a pig than a man. Stupid Stark. BUT! There was no reason for her to have him on her mind; she was too focused on Steve. He was tall, beautiful blonde hair, soft blue eyes, really strong, big build but seemed more like a bashful child which just made him adorable. Her heart fluttered like it never had before and it made her put her hand over her heart. What was wrong with her? Or… what had she been missing?

Putting together her apartment was easy, especially now that she had a form of motivation. If he was coming over tomorrow she better have her place put together. Her living room was filled with old art around the time of World War 2. Her aunt gave her many of her art pieces in her will so as you can imagine, they held a lot of value for her. She also had a few present day paintings up but it was obvious where the value was held. Surprisingly enough, not a single one of Captain America; why? Because if she ever ran into the legend she didn’t want to look like a weirdo. Her bedroom held all of her family pictures including her albums with her family from many reunions; including photos of her dear lost Aunt. It was so saddening to think she was gone but she died happy and that’s more than anyone could as for now-a-days. It was still sad because they were close.

The last thing she attempted to get up was her punching bag. She had set up the corner of her living room with pillows against the wall so that when she hit the bag hanging from the ceiling it wouldn’t damage the wall but she didn’t have the strength to get it up onto the hook she installed… but Steve could. Now she felt bad, she was only joking that he’d have to lift something heavy and now she’d actually have a reason but… she didn’t want one.

The rest of the day went smoothly and she was glad that she had the following day off as well, and now she had something to do.
After her morning run, Sharon did a few more things around her place, nothing fancy but she did prep for making a certain dessert later on in the day. A smile grew across her face as she debated on what to wear. Was this a date? Where they going out for lunch? Should she eat before he came over? How should she dress? What was the weather like? She didn’t own a car so were they walking… that’s kind of a far walk. Where they taking a cab? Sure she could afford that. It was a slightly cold day of 68 degrees outside but she didn’t want to wear another sweater, he had already seen her in one.

Staring at herself in the mirror was so complicated. She felt her best outside of her false glasses and with her hair down but then again, she needed to keep who she was suppurate from who she was at work. Shit, should she have done the hair up and glasses at work? No the glasses, even with the plain lenses through off her site when it came to shooting a gun. Sighing, she picked up her glasses from the dresser and put them on. Deciding against the messy bun she had done before, she pulled her hair back into a high pony tail, allowing some of the length and light curls to be visible. Now… to the closet.

Pulling it open she stared at her clothes, she had so many works suites that her ‘street clothes’ really didn’t exist. Taking in a deep breathe she ventured further into her closet, finding a nice pair of dark blue hip hugging jeans and a blue v-neck t-shirt that said ‘I take care of myself but I don’t look flashy.’ Yeah this will work. Slipping into the clothes she pulled a small black jacket over her shoulders to help keep her warm against the chilly but not rainy weather outside. A small shaky breath left her as she looked at herself in the mirror after slipping on a pair of black shoes. Yeah she looked cute but not as good as she could; then again… this wasn’t a date right…. Right.

The knock echoed through her house and her open bedroom door as she grabbed her keys and small purse. Too late to change her mind now. Shutting the door to her bedroom she went to her front door and pulled it open. “You survived the journey!” She said brightly. “I hope the pesky trolls under the bridge didn’t give you much trouble.”
