I'm pretty sure we all would know we all exist. Or have files on each other. It's not like everyone would have come down on an alien planet without knowing who is who. Or their basic premise. We're not drum beating tribals after all.

Speaking of which, we need Bat People.

Thinking of joining. Not as a nation, but as a band of freelancer mercenaries out to explore this alien star system and get in adventures and find sources of exotic resources to sell at a massive profit back in the Safe Zone states. They are more out for adventure and discovery than pure profit, but they have a noted "knack" for tripping over some of the wonders of Brahma, and being more than able to fight to protect their claims.

Their leader (and my main character) would be a young, brash but experienced explorer-inventor, who has a knack for being able to assemble military-grade equipment and combat robots with off-the-shelf hardware and custom-programmed AI's. If he was out for money, he'd make a fortune in the colonies with his robot designs and engineering talent, but he's out for thrills and adventure in the wilderness. But his ability to raise repeatedly raise small armies of surprisingly effective combat robots and dedicated followers is a warning flag to many, and he has plenty of jealous rivals who are out to snatch his claims in the Danger Zones.

Will get a CS out ASAP.

They don't exist as a corp pre-extermination, but post extermination I don't see why not.

Perpendicular on if the other planets have life of not of if you got planetary crafts. My guys won't have much interest for the lifeless rocks outside brahma.

Wait, there are civilizations of batmen on this planet with organized society, written language and stone/clay temples?

Time to get out the artillery.

Or do you mean like player tribes?

I for one am creating an NPC bat-people protectorate that my guys will work closely with. I am open to the idea of people playing bat-men, too.

I have an idea for a thing. If some of the large businesses got together and formed like a Coalition of businesses.

Probably not much beyond microbial life, unless we agree to have an ocean planet or something. But definitively no Earth-like planets. We can settle this as we go though. I don't want to pay too much mind to it right now. I can hardly keep up with all the questions and apps.

I feel like an Ocean planet would be nice, though, hell, we could always design its life to be rather early in development compared to us. Stuff more along the lines of Cambrian-Silurian life, if you will.

Aside from that, though, I do have a quick question regarding Artificial Intelligence/Robotics. Considering the shortage of manpower we're dealing with, I was going to have my nation make extensive use of both AI and robots. Namely, artificial intelligence would fill in the holes left by a shortage of scientists and administrators, whereas more basic robots would fill in the holes in manual labour and as footsoldiers. Would that kind of thing be allowed?

Yeah but sea monsters jed.

Maybe there could be flat worm-like creatures that are as long as whales and a couple meters wide that reproduce asexually [meaning if broken, there's two of them].

And they like wrapping around smaller creatures to drain their body fluids.

I think that'd be fine. Just don't go overboard.

As for an ocean planet: I will definitely talk to the other Precipricks. If we do it, it has to be a planet where only very small outposts can be built. That way no one can, like.. settle there or something, since we have to keep the focus on Brahma. But it would be nice to be able to explore the underwater life of a planet like that.

Dunno how humans could settle a ocean planet.

If humans were to genetically modify themselves into being sentient squids, than maybe. But than this whole RP would play out differently as all the colonies on brahma would be underground.

That's the point. I'm okay with having an ocean planet because no one can settle it anyway. So at best, nations could have research outposts on them.

EDIT: I'm talking about a planet elsewhere in the system. Not turning Brahma into an ocean planet.

I don't really see people whimsically genetically modifying themselves. Cosmetic surgery is one thing, but our basic form is a humongous part of our identity. I would suspect that weird people, or people who have had their right to chose taken away, would be the majority of the genetically modified minority.

It seems way more likely that people would find some way to settle on top of or in an ocean than it would be for them to go "Ala-Kazam! Little Mermaid tiem."

I think the less serious you take that comment about human squids the better.

Chances are most genetic modifications will be more internal work. Stuff like ridding of hereditary diseases or picking your child's physical appearance out. More intense modification I have no clue on.

I feel like that level of genetic modification would not only be extremely resource intensive, but likely require ages of physical therapy to cope with such huge changes in terms of motor function. It'd also likely be an incredibly painful change unless the subject was put far, far, far, under. Imho, even with such advanced tech, such drastic modifications would still most likely be incredibly complicated.

Since I am now an authorized nation, I have expanded on the cities within my borders. I'm making sure they are relatively small but growing nicely. I can't wait to get the first post off!
