He nodded and took a bite of the sandwich before checking his phone.

"Yeah this should be what your lookin for" a man said as he handed a game from the top shelf at a local gamestore to a kid and his mom. He smiled as they walked to the counter but this was beginning to get difficult for him. This man is Brett Adams as he turned around beginning to re shuffle the cases so they would be in alphabetical form. Still he was good at his job here having an extensive knowledge of video games from his time working here. Brett sighed and continued to shuffle the cases around silently awaiting any more costumers or for his shift to end.

Joey was still reading the menu when the waiter/owner came up to him.

"Hey, you ready to order?" Sadan asked with a smile.

"I'm still deciding." Joey looked at the man before asking, "What do you suggest?"

"There's the potato casserole if you wanna try that." Sadan replied.

Joey nodded. "Sounds good to me. As for drink, a glass of water would be nice." He said.

Sadan nodded while he wrote it down. He then walked off to make and serve it.

Juno finished reading his comic book and stood up. He was going to try and meet someone despite not being able to talk.

One of the other girls who worked at the bookstore had arrived, so Anya finished up her duties and left. It seemed to be a pretty nice day out, so she was sure that a nice walk would be fine before going home. As she walked, she eventually realized that she still hadn't had lunch yet that day. That's not really a good thing to forget. Maybe I'll stop by that cafe before I go home...Oh? She stopped in front of a diner she had never been in before. In fact, she had completely forgotten that it existed.

Perhaps I can see what they have today. It might be a nice place to remember in the future. With the desire to try something new in mind, she entered the building and quickly found a table. She looked over the menu, wondering if they had any soups available.

Jeffery walked out of the bookstore, pretty content that he managed to get some reading in despite being a runaway from an orphanage. When he left however he saw a worker from the orphanage and panicked. "They're already looking for me!" He said to himself, "I got to hide!" He ran until he found a diner and decided to hide there. He burst through the doors almost falling on the floor.

Brett kept on placing the game cases I order until he saw his manager walk up to him. "Alright Brett lunch break" the manager said with Brett only giving him a nod with a smile on his face. "Got an hour kid" the manager said as Brett nodded while walking out of the store. Brett walked over to his F150 fishing in his pockets for his car keys. After finding them he unlocked the driver side door climbing inside and sighing. shaking his head. "Man today has been something for sure. The cravings are getting worse for some reason today. Thought I was going to lose it back there." Brett muttered pulling the driver side door close. He put the key into the ignition turning the key until he started his F150. He put the F150 and reverse and looked back as he backed out of the parking spot he was in. Putting it into drive now Brett began to drive off pulling onto a road in search of somewhere he can eat at as despite him being here for a couple years he still hadn't fully explored the town.

Anya was surprised to see the boy from the bookstore suddenly almost fall through the doors of the diner. What an odd coincidence that he would show up here as well. I wonder if I should feel a bit paranoid... No, no, it probably is just coincidence. She shrugged it off, returning to her menu. She was currently stuck between two options for food, but she knew what she wanted to drink already.

Emily started walking out of the park with her hands behind her head, deciding to head on home until he stomach growled. "Oops..hungry. I'll get something to eat in the city." The silver-haired girl started making her way into the city while looking around for a place to eat. It was some time until she spotted a diner, now heading towards there. She walked inside, her red eyes scanning the place then found a table to sit at by one of the windows. "Wonder what to get?"

Brett drove until he pulled off the road into the parking lot of a nearby diner. He pulled into one of the parking spots putting his F150 in park. "All the times I have gone down that road I have noticed this place. Wonder if it's any good" Brett muttered to himself peering in through the windows to see some people inside. "Well guess it's time to try something new" Brett said to himself shutting off his truck and taking the key out of the ignition. He calmly opened the driver side door and stepped out of his truck hitting the lock button before shutting the driver side door. He stuck his keys into his pocket as he calmly walked inside taking note of all the people inside. After a couple seconds he chose a seat in a back corner away from everyone else. Picking up a menu he began to look through it for something good. He was looking for something seafood oriented if at all possible.

Jeffery was panicking, he scanned the diner trying to find out what to do. He saw the girl from the bookstore and sat down at her table, "you've got to help me," he plead to her, "they're looking for me." Jeffery looked outside and saw the worker and stuck his head in the menu, "tell me when the man out there leaves."

"Ah, um, okay..." Anya was a bit worried by this point, trying her hardest not to come up with a worst case scenario in her head. This wasn't exactly an everyday situation to her, so she couldn't really help it.
Still, that terrified look wasn't something she could just ignore...
Glancing out of the corner of her eye at the man outside, she pretended to keep reading her menu. "Um...what's going on...? Who is that?" She whispered.

"Alright," Jeffery said with a sigh, "my name is Jeffery, and currently I am a runaway from an orphanage. I just recently turned 17 and couldn't bear being there for another year, so I escaped. That man outside works at the orphanage, he's currently looking for me," Jeffery told his whole story of the events of today to the girl, he had absolutely no one he trusted and he needed help.

Brett sat quietly thinking over the day's events looking around at everyone else in the room with him. He looked back at his menu letting his usual shyness keep him from even attempting conversation though just about everyone inside looked to be around his age or younger. Brett had thought of the idea of attempting to talk to someone when his head began hurting he quickly pulled the menu up with one hand while covering his eyes with his other hand. "Why now?" he quietly muttered keeping his head down for he didn't want to reveal that his eyes had changed. "Just...got to wait till it subsides" Brett muttered to himself having picked something from the menu already.

"A runaway?" Anya was surprised by this, though it would explain what he told her earlier in the bookstore. He seemed like an okay person to her so far, but she only just met him... but if he ran away and was this scared of going back, it must have been a terrible place to him... right? She couldn't let him just get caught already. "Alright, just keep your head down for a minute. I think he's leaving." She waited for the man to run around the corner and out of sight before she let out a sigh. "He's gone now. But what are you going to do? Do you have a place to stay now that you've left?"

Jeffery set his menu down on the table, at least he found what he wanted to eat, but then she asked him if he had a place to stay, "well I'm an idiot, I can't believe that never crossed my mind. So no, I don't have a place to stay."

"Man this is not good" Brett muttered to himself keeping his eyes hidden from everyone else fearful of what may happen if they saw that he currently had the eyes of an alligator. Brett wondered if it was best to stay or not with this new development in his case. He decided to stick around for a while hoping that his eyes would change back soon as he still had to go back to his job after this.

"Oh, I see." Anya thought about this for a minute, not sure what to do. It seemed like he was in a pretty difficult situation, but could she really help him? I can't just take him back home, even if my aunt is traveling for the next few days. I hardly know him! But maybe I can help him find a place to stay? I'm sure there's somewhere he could go for now. She looked back at him. "I...I can help you look for a place to stay if you want. For now though, let's eat lunch first. I remember that you said you didn't have money earlier, but I'll take care of it this time, so go ahead and get something. It's hard to search with an empty stomach, right?" She smiled a bit nervously, thinking how interesting the day was turning out so far.
