[For Whom Has Power Shall Control All]

Sinking, sinking ever so slowly, it’s almost as if you’re floating. Are you sinking in water? It is hard to move, but you don’t resist it. Instead, you let yourself fall, only opening your eyes towards the end. As if on instinct, you bring yourself to an upright position. Your feet touch what you think is the floor, only for it to erupt around you. Birds of purest white scatter, revealing an image underneath your feet. Shaded mostly pink, you see several silhouettes scattered around. Seven of them, to be exact, each surrounded by a heart with a crown placed above each heart. Before you can inspect it further, however, a voice calls out to you.

“Good, you’re here at last. Can you walk?”

You take a step forward, as if to confirm the voice’s suspicions, and you look around. The birds are long gone and only darkness surrounds you. Where could the voice be coming from?

“It’s alright.” It continues, reassuring you. “All is well at the moment, but your entire world has been lost to darkness. It is not the first or the last world to perish. The darkness will soon overcome everything…but that doesn’t mean your existence will come to an end. No, instead…it will be the beginning of your journey.”

For some reason, you aren’t alarmed to this news. While worries do poke the back of your head, you feel that you need to listen; you remain quiet, hoping for more explanation, though your eyes return to the silhouettes.

“You will learn who they are once you and I meet.” The voice continued. “Yes, we will meet…you and several others, in fact. Your destinies have become intertwined, you see, though not all of you may be allies. Still, it will be…interesting to see who ends up where. For sometimes even the gentlest soul may give in to the darkness, and the person with the most secrets ends up having the brightest light.”

Those words have your thoughts buzzing again, though the sound of glass cracking catches your attention. You look down, and to your horror, you realize the ground is breaking. You try your best to remain steady, but even when you are still it continues to crack.

“There is no need to be afraid.“ It says to you. “For now you will join the others, and myself, to the world where those scattered from their homes meet. Until then, farewell.”

Your body drops through the glass, falling once more. The scattered remains of the floor glow around you. You feel a warmth, despite your situation. Another voice calls to you, this one much gentler then the first, but you can’t quite understand what it’s saying. The glass pieces dissipate into light, temporarily blinding you, and just as you feel yourself fade away, the gentle voice speaks once again:

“You’re my only hope.”
Welcome to Kingdom Hearts: Destiny. This is an Alternate Universe Roleplay where our Original Characters take place of the heroes. As you can see, the Roleplay starts with your home already destroyed--once the In Character is up, we will be starting off in Traverse Town, regardless of affiliation. Here you will meet someone who will help kickstart your journey--whether it be the voice that guided you through your Dive to the Heart, Maleficent who just so happened to rescue you from fading away like the rest of your world, or someone who just so happen to need your help. Either way, this roleplay will be focused more on the characters and their actions towards one another, as well as the decisions made. You will see that sometimes the Light is not always good, nor is the Darkness always evil.

Now then, shall we begin?

A few questions; do we have to stick to abilities and magic from the games (the KH games at. At most, I suspect we could dip further into FF's long list of spells for magic, and maybe we could make up our own abilities)?

Also, dibs on the gigantic sword wielder

@ HellOfaLife -- Looking forward to it.

@ Card Captor -- Just as you said, you can pretty much make your own abilities so long as they're reasonable. I would suggest to start off not to go too crazy, since you'll be able to keep unlocking more abilities, and it would kinda suck to hit the cap when we still have more worlds to discover, but it is entirely up to you. Magic (for now) will be limited strictly to Kingdom Hearts. That isn't to say that later in the RP it will stay that way, it's just for now. After all, we're all starting out as newbies so it wouldn't make sense for everyone to have all this crazy stuff right off the bat.

Well I shall have a character up by tomorrow hopefully then. Still trying to decide if I actually want to use a keyblade or something else because I have another idea for a weapon but hard to pass up using a keyblade.

I didn't expect any kind of high tier stuff, but some spells in KH don't do the same thing as their FF versions do (like Reflect, Aero and Gravity (although I think that KH Gravity is much better, I certainly used it much more)). I'll try to start off with some low level stuff, but there's a chance that you might see it as too much for the start

"Violence is not strength, and kindness is not weakness!"

Name: Arthur

Age: 14

Personality: Arthur grew up on stories of noble knights; daring hero's who fought evil monsters, and drew their swords in defense of those too weak to fight. For as long as he can remember, he always wanted to become a knight...but not just any knight. Among knights, there are a few who's courage, strength, and compassion were leagues above the normal knights. These knights were called; Paladins. To a boy with a heart as big as Arthur, it sounded like his dream job

Arthur is a bleeding heart; he can't just turn away someone in need, even if it's an inconvenience to himself. Although despite his claims that he'll grow up to be a mighty Paladin, he's not the bravest boy, as he often found himself unable to fight back against bullies who saw him as an easy target. However, when he see someone else in danger, his sense of preservation seems to just turn off, rushing to the aid of anyone in trouble.

While he's normally very even tempered, there are things that can get him fired up; like anything even remotely connected to his dream. He also tries to keep a smile on his face when around others, although depending on the situation, this can sometimes be hard for him

Weapon:

Abilities:
Guard Plus: Defensive; Blocks attacks
Cure Boost: Support; Boosts health restored with Cure
Unbreakable: Support; Augments Guard Plus. Guard Plus now projects a circular energy barrier one inch in front of the user. The diameter of this barrier is equal to the users length doubled

Magic:
Cure
Reflect

Destiny’s Oath: Hand of Protection; Creates and maintains Reflect spells around all nearby allies. Will use highest know Reflect spell.

Trinity Limit: None yet

Sample Post:

"Ehhhhh...close the window mom...I don't want to get up yet" Arthur complained as he felt a chill breeze hit him. When nothing happened, he groaned again "mooom...It's still dark. Please...let me sleep"

'A knight would be ready to get up at any hour' he knew she was going to say to tease him awake. He knew why she did it...but that didn't make it any less effective. However, to his surprise...nothing happened. That put him on alert. It was then that Arthur noticed a few things, or rather, he noticed a few missing things; like his blanket, his pillows, and his bed of all things. Now feeling worried, Arthur opened his eyes and found himself in a strange alleyway that didn't look like it anywhere close to his home

"W..what?" This was not good; he had no idea where he was, how he got here, or even how to get home...and he was all alone. "Come on Arthur...be brave. A real Knight wouldn't be scared of something like this...oh who am I kidding, I'm not a Knight. I don't even have a Weap-" and that's when it appeared in his hand with a flash of light; it was a sword, but not just any sword, it was a sword almost as big as him. "Gah! Where did this come from!? And why can I life it!?" While it was indeed heavy, it was nowhere near as much as a sword that size should be. "This...this can't be real. Not if swords like this are just appearing out of nowhere" getting up to his feet, Arthur conditioned talking "yeah...that's right; this has got to be some kind of-GAH!" He was interrupted when, not used to the weight of the weapon, he stumbled and fell down. "That hurt..." realization dawned on him "...that hurt. You can't feel pain in a dream. That...that means that all of this...is real. I have no idea how to get back home"

<< I'm confused about the whole character and-a-half thing in rule one. It states to see below for more information, but the only thing I could find is the mentioning of three and-a-half factions. Does that mean we have to play a Disney Villain, or am I just looking at this thing too closely? I do that sometimes where I over-analyze these things. Either way, one CS comin' right up! >>

I think the 'half' part comes from the fact that we can play Disney villains, which most are already established and might not even require a CS

The character in a half thing basically means we can have one OC character and then if we choose to have another character it would be a character that is all ready in the Kingdom Hearts game. Thus that is the half portion since the character itself is all ready known by most since we know what they are like from the games requiring not a lot of information necessary for a full character sheet.

"My name's Kazeko. But you can call me Kaze, or Zeko, for short. It's nice to meetcha!"

Appearance: Eyes are green instead of yellow

Name: Kazeko

Age: 15

Personality: Kazeko is generally spacey and is sometimes seen daydreaming. When things gets serious though, she becomes serious (and alert), as well. She is very friendly around people, unless Kazeko feels as though something about someone is off or suspicious. Then she just acts cautiously and doesn't speak much to that person. Even though her head may seem to always be up in the clouds, her intuition about people and certain situations are good enough to make her a surprising source of good advice. This is because she tends to look at situations and try to understand it before jumping to conclusions, but if the situation is dire enough, then she would skip the analyzing and just jump in. She is very blunt when it comes to honesty, so people will know where they stand when it comes to their relationship with Kazeko. She is somewhat emotionally sensitive, she can get nervous at times, and she does cry at a sad scene, but it doesn't happen every single time. She can also be a bit clumsy when she talks to people (either putting her foot in her mouth, or the wrong message gets to the person instead of what she intended to say), and she is also clumsy in the sense that she could trip over absolutely nothing. She follows her heart as well as help people whenever she can. In her spare time, she likes to draw whatever she dreamed of the night before, or was daydreaming of while she was drawing. She is a bit socially awkward because in her home, not many people wanted to be friends with her, for reasons that Kazeko doesn't know.

Weapon: The Keyblade, Dreamscape

Abilities:
-Scan
-Dodge Roll
-Guard Plus

Magic:
-Cure
-Blizzard

Destiny’s Oath: Windstorm. Unleash a flurry of attacks, empowered by strong winds that are capable of lifting small foes into the air and dealing extra damage. The winds could range just from very strong, blade like, gusts, to a powerful, but small, tornado. ((Of course she doesn't have this yet))

Trinity Limit: Dream Guardian/Nightmare. With two other friends, she can unleash a flurry of attacks with more kinds of attacks that one can only dream of. She and her friends can fly around (she would have white feathered wings appear on her back during this Trinity Limit), and attack rapidly and with a seemingly inexhaustible amount of magic. At the end of this Trinity Limit, all three of the warriors with fly high into the air, join their weapons together, and give (if the group is melee based) one final slash or attack, or (if the group is magic based) one final powerful spell. What the spell would be depends on what kind of spell the people in the group use most often. While this is happening, the enemies are trapped within a barrier and the environment changes to benefit Kazeko and her two companions while they commence their Trinity Limit. ((Of course, she doesn't have this yet))

Sample Post:
*~*~*
Kazeko groaned as she opened her eyes and stared at the grey ceiling above her. She groaned and placed her hand on her forehead and asked "Wha...? Where...Where am...I?" Her head felt fuzzy and clouded, like she just woke up from a very long dream-filled sleep. She turned only to feel nothing supporting her after she turned and she yelped, falling to the ground. She moaned "Owwww! That hurt!" She looked up to where she fell from to see that she had been sleeping on a green couch. She stood up and looked to see that she was in a shop of sorts, with a warm, lit, and homey fireplace. She heard a voice say to her, "Kupo! You're awake! Kupo! I thought you were going to be sleeping forever, the way you slept so heavily!"

Kazeko looked at the source of the voice to see that it was a small white creature with a red thing coming from the head. She had no idea what it was, but it was just so cute! She wanted to squeal and hug the cute thing, but she shook her head and immediately composed herself as the memories came back to her. What happened to her home? What was that blue weapon thing that appeared in her hand then? What happened to her family? Her friends? Were they....? She shook her head again, denying the possibility that her home and the people she cared about could be dead, and keeping possible tears from falling, as she asked "Um....Where am I?" The thing answered her in its cute voice, "Kupokupo! You are in Traverse Town! Specifically you're in the accessory shop!" Kazeko mumbled "How did I get here?" The thing seemed to give her a light glare, and nodded towards the ceiling. She followed the thing's gaze and she saw that there was a giant hole that showed the clear night sky, right above the couch where she slept.

Kazeko gave a hesitant smile and she said "Oh...Oops," The moogle seemed to sigh and he commented "Kupo...I understand it wasn't on purpose. But you owe me for repairs! This looks like it will cost 1000 munny!" Kazeko raised an eyebrow and she asked "Munny? I'm afraid I don't have any munny on me,". The shopkeeper then said "Figures. Still, come back when you can pay the debt, ok?" Kazeko nodded and said "I will. Thanks," She then left the accessory shop. She looked around, noticing how everything was definitely nothing like her home. She mumbled "This really is strange. Am I sure I'm not daydreaming again?" She stepped forwards, missing the stairs entirely, and she screamed as she fell down the front stairs and landed harshly on the ground in the Traverse Town square. She groaned answering her own question, "Ow! Yeah...I'm sure,"

After that, she got up and started looking around for any clues that might help her answer her questions.

@ Card Captor -- Just one thing, and you have to promise me you'll work on it. Slight grammar issues and ellipses never have more then three dots, so anytime you use them it'll be "..." okay? Because I think Arthur is adorable and I'd hate for my inner Grammar Nazi stop him from being the Knight he wants to be. Also you're missing something. And many thanks to you and Argetlam for helping Adrix, you are both right.

@ Haruki -- Love it. Except your appearance link doesn't work. I'll bet if you fix it I'll love it more. And you forgot something too.

I'll do my best, but grammar has always been one of my weak points. Also I didn't even notice that ellipses with the extra dots. That was a mistake, and I'm not sure how that happened.

"If it pleases your majesty, I am no master of the martial ways, but by nature my trade is still the ways of war. For you see, my lord, I am a tactician and my contributions are therefore worth more to you than any one soldier can ever be."

Galen 'Urik' Gallatin

Age: 18

Personality: Galen hails from a world where the realities of death are very, very real. As a former heir to a noble lineage, his intellect is at all times his greatest weapon and with so much time spent honing it he has somewhat neglected his body. That being said, by his very nature Galen is lazy in regards to almost all forms of physical activity, instead preferring the company of thick novels and complicated treatises. This is not to say that he isn't personable, just that he much prefers the topic of whatever conversation to be able tactics of philosophy as opposed to the nature of the night's rations or what this sudden turn of the weather might mean.

Weapon: Roc-Feather Wand - An implement that amplifies the power of magic, it was crafted from the feather of a mighty rock and contains the essence of the wind itself. The size of a short-sword, when wielding magic the fibers of the feather disperse to help stabilize projected mana. However, in close-quarters these fibers can be retracted and hardened to make the feather into a sort of make-shift sword.

Magic List

Thunder: A burst of magical energy which zaps the opponent.

Poison: A malignant malady which drains away strength.

Reflect: A mighty shield which wards away damage.

Slow: A wrinkle in time which reduces reality to a crawl.

Cure: An aura of life which restores lost resolve.

Destiny’s Oath: Gluttony of Atomos - A magical vortex which magnifies innate magnetic and gravitational energies. With the portal open physics become a thing of fancy, changing at the whim of the user to confuse, complicate, and confuzzle the opponent. When used as a finisher, the opponent is simply sucked inside and crushed down to the very last atom, molecular or ionic bonds ripped apart by the force of unstable gravitational energies.

Trinity Limit: Galen begins the attack by using gravitational magic to rip up four large boulders from the ground, before spinning them in a clockwise motion. The boulders close in on the target, slamming into and trapping the opponent between them. The attack then diverges; if the party is mostly mages then they combine their power into a devastating array of lasers, energy spheres, and concussive blasts before finishing the target with a massive gravitational vortex. If the party is mostly melee fighters, then the three unsheathe their weapons and stylishly set about attacking the enemy with flurries of slashes, cutting clean through the boulders in the process, finishing as all three array themselves in a triangle around the target before racing towards each-other and delivering three simultaneous slashes with all their might.

Sample Post: 'To get up or not to get up, that is the question?' An unenthused pair of dull grey eyes stared absently up towards the brilliant blackness of the night sky. The spread of the stars on the vast horizon, they way they shimmered and sparkled and shined, such beauty was almost otherworldly. It was like an art masterpiece, the sensation of the moment was enough to grip the tactician, to keep him rooted, unwilling to let him go for fear the majesty of the stars and their infinite reflections would be lost to the corridors of time. But alas, in his current predicament it was only a matter of time before the infinite moment was broken. "Um', hello, sir'. What exactly are you doing? I mean, the middle of the street isn't really the best place for star-gazing." That was it then, the answer to his previous question: to get up it was!

The robed figure drew himself upward with some difficulty. His bones ached and his muscles burned; just what form of magic had brought him here in the first place? Gazing around the plaza in which he was now situated Urik could make out the forms of various stores and buildings. It was a far cry from where he'd previously been; a land of battlefields and sorcery. "Um', sir', hello~" It was that voice again. That soothing, annoying, curious voice. Reluctantly the wayward mage turned to face his interrogator. "I suppose your right, the street isn't the best place for star-gazing."

CS is a work in progress, probably to be finished within the next hour or so. Also interested in playing Hades if that's possible? I don't mind providing a sample post for him if that helps. Also wondering whether or not the age limit can be bumped up for my character if I'm playing a wayward traveler?
