Also I'm going to assume half a million credits is a damned good amount but how much is a credit worth in dollars/gbp? Just trying to get a sense of what could be bought cause for all I know it could be a similar system to yen where half a million yen/credits would perhaps buy me the latest games console.

I think half a million yen would still be a little steep for a games console. Unless they're that awesome in this universe, of course.

ah. yeah your right. just looked up a million yen and it equates to 5824.44 british pounds or 9391.88 us dollars.

Most likely, a standardized galactic currency would most likely be solid and quite large values, since 90% of the galactic populace would trade in it. (So less like yen and more like whole dollars, pounds and such).

That's just an assumption I made, but I assumed that this would be correct for DoD.

Yep. I was making an exaggerated comment on the possibilities. I just want to know how roughly much I can buy with what. I always feel awkward namedropping amounts of currency in roleplays when it is not a currency I am familiar with.

Bit doesn't really care, Dirophyds work with mercs pretty often. It'd be odd for them not to ask about their pay.
