uring the Great Manifest period of the Old Republic, a starcruiser, the Starward Destiny, was lost in space due to a malfunctioning hyperdrive which propelled them far beyond their intended destination in the Expansion Region and into what is now known as Wild Space. There, with a crippled ship and little way to repair it, the crew of the Starward Destiny were forced to crash land on an unknown planet. They named the planet, temperate and with a wide range of climates, Gylif, or “peace” in the Old Corellian tongue, and began the struggle to start a new life. Unable to contact the Republic or any outside forces, the crew and passengers of the Starward Destiny began, over the next 17,000 years, to build a society and populate Gylif. Civilizations rose and fell, nations were built and torn apart, wars were fought and won and lost, and Gylifans forged a new society in isolation from the Republic. The societies of these nations were mostly based around aristocratic or monarchical governments, the richest and most powerful families ruling each nation.

In approximately 3000 BBY, the Lyseli family, rulers of the largest nation on Gylif, began a centuries-long war, waged diplomatically, economically, and militarily, to take control over the entire planet. After nearly a millennium of warfare, they finally succeeded. Many of their victories, however, came with the concessions that the ruling families be allowed to maintain local control over their respective nations, and so a quasi-feudalistic government evolved on Gylif, with the Lyseli family as the worldwide rulers and other powerful families ruling the former nations as provinces of the Lyselis.

Technology-wise, after several thousands of years of rebuilding their society from almost nothing, the Gylifans were able to build starships, although during that time, their forced isolation became an isolation of choice. Reluctant, and indeed unwilling to travel far from their own star system, the Gylifans maintained their isolation for thousands of years until 7 ABY, when scout ships from the fledgling New Republic stumbled upon Gylif. Engaged by the Gylifan ships out of fear, the New Republic ships were caught in a brief skirmish with the Gylifans before the misunderstanding was worked out and hostilities ended. The New Republic scouts were startled to discover, however, that although technologically inferior to their own ships, the Gylifan ships possessed such strong armor that after their shields went down, little damage had been done. The armor was made using an alloy of metals never before seen in the galaxy, and found only in Gylif’s crust. This intrigued the Republic, as such armor would improve the survivability of any ships the Republic could make with it, and so an envoy was sent to Gylif.

Such a discovery could not remain secret, however, and through various spies and informants, the Empire was also made aware of Gylif and its precious alloy. As eager as the New Republic to get their hands on the metal and the potential armor to be made from it, the Empire also sent an envoy to the system to deal with the Gylifans and attempt to bring them into the Imperial fold.

And so, diplomatic and military officials from both the New Republic and the Empire are arriving at Gylif, eager to convince the Gylifans to join their respective governments and gain access to the metals within Gylif’s crust. Complicating matters, however, is the murky political landscape of Gylif. The feudal nature of its society means that the Lyselis do not have true absolute control over the planet, and with the arrival of two opposing forces, the stage is set for either the Lyselis to cement their power over Gylif, or for the other families to attempt to climb to the top and gain control of the planet themselves, with the help of the Republic or Empire.
This roleplay will combine two of my favorite things: Star Wars, and Game of Thrones. There will be plot twists, backstabbings, and maneuverings, and though I will be running the Lyselis, their main purpose is to be the centerpoint for the actions of the other Houses, played by you. House Lyseli will be the GM's tool to help drive the story, in whatever directions you desire. This will be on the higher end of casual, so please only commit if you will put time and effort into your houses and characters.

House Name: Domuracon
Location: South east of the second island
Region name: Domuracona
Population: 250 million peoples
Motto: Virtue And Faith will lead the way
Colors: Dark Red and Light Green
History:
The members of the Dumoracon family have the ability to trace there heritage back to members of the Starward Destiny, even though it crashed so long ago. Even with being one of the original houses the Dumoracon family have not been in a large amount of wars, so they have full claim on there land. This House believes that if you have faith and you follow the virtues your life will be perfect, even though this is impossible, the people of the house to follow this. They chose the colors dark red and light green, they chose dark red because of the blood for the fallen members of the house and light green for the nature that grows over their graves. When the Lyseli attacked long ago the people of the Dumoracon house decided that instead of dying they should surrender, which they did. Even with this rumors have been going around that the people should stand up against the people of the Lyseli and form a rebellion.

(I will add people tomorrow, It is late where I am)

Looks good to me. Only question I have is for more clarification on your location. Do you mean the southeast of the eastern continent? You'll need a large area for 250 million people.

Sorry about the IC post. I meant to post here, I'm definitely interested in playing in this roleplay. I'm a star wars fanatic. I'm still trying to get used to this interface though, so again I apologize!

House Name: House Dieuwert

Location: Southern portion of the continent, taking up a large portion of the massive nearby sea's coast.

Region name: Lower and Upper Wenonia

Population: 150M

Motto: Strong Are Our Roots

Colors: Yellow and Violet

History: The history of House Dieuwert stretches to long before the unification of Gylif under the Lyseli family. Several thousand years before that centuries-long war the progenitors of House Dieuwert were part of another, larger House which controlled all of Lower Wenonia, a massive wetlands region that had long been considered a backwater of the planet. This larger House split after a failed coup attempt, and the House's Lord discovered that his five sons were each planning his and their siblings demise. Their House split, each son taking power in different regions of Lower Wenonia, resulting in a decade-long civil war which ended in the newly named House Dieuwert's victory. Colognia Dieuwert, the newly landed lord, either killed off or vassalized his siblings, and reigned over the entirety of the region.
Afterwards, he commissioned the great Wenonian Canals project, a massive system of canals, dams, and dykes which would redirect Lower Wenonia's rivers and swamps into arable farmlands. I took nearly a century to finish the first stages, but by 4000BBY Lower Wenonia became an agricultural hub of Gylif. House Dieuwert and its vassals continued to reign over the land until the Lyseli family began shaking things up. Early on, House Dieuwert cut a deal with the Lyseli family in exchange for a cut of land in Upper Wenonia, a rocky, mineral-rich region and one where the Gylifan alloy could be found easily in relatively large quantities. House Dieuwert has since remained loyal to the Lyseli, maintaining their favor as one of Gylif's largest food and mineral producers. Their colors, violet and yellow, represent the Dieuwesh Flower, which are a delicacy of the region. It's known for its powerful roots, which can live even after the stem and leaves die, only to blossom again once conditions are ripe.

I'll add 2-3 people tomorrow morning, probably. Still working on them.

Are there any limitations to having Jedi, Sith, or other force-sensitive characters included in our House?

UPDATE: I'm a bit further along, If you look in my ORGANISATION section you should be able to see what I've given myself for my Space Navy, I tried to pick a reasonable force but it is hard without anything to compare to :) If you think I have gone overboard or not gone far enough just tell me! I'm trying to be militarily strong but at the same time bound and below the Lyseni. Somewhat similar to Germany or Japan after WWI but without the breaking the rules, well maybe I might break the rules hehe we shall see :P

House Name: House Callidum
Location: Island in the South West of the map.

Region name: Maridia
Population: 200 Million beings
Motto: Arcana imperii (the secrets of power)
Colors: Black and White.
History: The Callidum family claim to be descended from the head of engineering on the old Starward destiny, however it is an open secret that there is absolutely no proof or even indication of any links to be found between the family and said engineer and many speculate that the claim is merely imitation of the Lyseli's claim. The house colours are black and white, these represent life and death, a reminder that what good we have made of life has been built on the death of our people. House Callidum rose to prominence and eventual rule during the civil war of 4326. Grand Admiral Henry Callidum seized the Capital with his marine forces and with his naval forces gained control of the food supply routes, resistance soon crumbled in the face of mass starvation. Maridia being an island has always had a strong naval presence, with the rise of House Callidum the navy and air-force expanded further. In 4380 House Callidum invaded the eastern continent conquering a large swathe of land along the Eastern coast (as seen on the map), this gave House Callidum a stable supply of food to feed the large population of the island.

In the year 3000 huge expansions in the navy and airforce began in response to increasingly hostile moves by the Lyseli, an arms race of sorts soon began. Harsh diplomacy eventually spilled over into war and despite initial success House Callidum's naval surface fleet took heavy losses. In the continental territories claimed by House Callidum, House Callidum's small yet well trained army fought valiantly but were hopelessly outnumbered, The airforce took many losses in operations to evacuate as many men as possible from the eastern continent. Perhaps the Lyseli would have decided to invade the weakened Maridia, however House Callidum's submarine fleet was still almost intact and invasion would almost certainly bring nuclear fire to the Lyseli. Instead the Lyseli waited, without the eastern continental farms Maridia starved, within six months House Callidum sued for peace. In the next 1000years Maridian soldiers, aircraft and ships fought the Lyseli's enemies across the globe.

@TheyMostlyComeAtNight, looks good thus far, no issues with anything you've said.

@Cheap_Thrills, no Jedi or Sith. There is a religious order of Force-sensitives which I will post about shortly, but they snatch up all reported Force-sensitives at birth for training, so if you wish to have a Force-sensitive in your House, there is a limit of 1, and they will be untrained and their abilities kept a secret.

Yeah, you can post them tomorrow.

And no, at the point of the ship's departure, it was mainly Humans from the Core Worlds who were doing the colonization. There would have been a few Duros as well, although with the limited number aboard the ship, their population would be much smaller than Humans.
