[IC] Medieval Kingdom

Midas and Freya, suddenly become uneasy, twitching their ears back and forth and tossing their heads, as if to see something they could only sense.

A magical pulse races through the town, sending out a powerful wave of evil energy through it. It seems to originate from the previously murdered man's body, which had since been transported to the graveyard for burial.

Isaiah stared out at the creek as Freya and Midas drank. Just as he was about to respond to the princess he noticed Midas start to move around erratically as if something had spooked him, which he had never seen before and he rushed over to him. "Whats wrong boy?"

"Freya?" she asked, worried. Lori walked over to her horse, stroking her neck. "I think they got spooked by something."

"I guess so." Isaiah muttered as he tried to calm Midas down. He looked around for whatever might've been the cause but saw nothing out of the ordinary. He had never seen Midas scared before, and it had given him a bad feeling

Lorelai cooed at Freya, trying to calm her. "Maybe a storm is on the way?" she said with uncertainty. Once she felt Freya was calmer she sat at the edge of the creek. "You can feel it happening too, can't you. Something is changing in the kingdom."

Isaiah could definitely feel it more than he let on, it stirred something in his blood, something unusual to him. He didn't like whatever was happening and he was reminded of the woman who had sobbed to him the night before when he went to retrieve the queen. "Dark Ones..." He whispered under his breath. He vaguely remembered the old wizard from earlier mentioning something like it to the queen before she had dismissed him. The knight Isaiahreturned as he held Midas face and stared deep into the stallion's eyes, within seconds he had calmed. "I think we should return you to the castle princess."

Lorelai brought her brows together and looked at him "Dark what? What's the matter Isiah?" She said, feeling as though she had said something that ruined their good mood.

The queen awoke from her rest in a cold sweat feeling an evil presence, with her heightened senses she was able to hear and feel everything around her. She didnt feel any different from before, just a strong headache and a odd sensation in her hands like her whole body was vibrating it was strange. She stood and went to the door and looked out of her bedroom, saw no one in the halls

Isaiah frowned, he hated to do this to Lorelei but he couldn't shake the feeling he got."I have a bad feeling Princess I feel you'll be safer at the castle." He said as he hopped onto Midas' back.

"Alright..." Lorelai said, trying not to seem too disappointed. She climbed back onto Freya. "Lead the way, Sir Knight." she said with a wave of her hand.

Isaiah nodded and ushered Midas to go forward and back to the castle. He guessed the old horse must've felt the same as him because he moved than he did during the race.

Freya and Lorelai followed back to the stables. She returns Freya to her hold and straightens her skirt. She wanted to say something but she wasn't sure what. Right now she hardly looked like a princess with her messy hair and skirt covered in dust and leaves. "Isiah, if things get too bad, promise that you'll tell me what is happening.... I'm not a child anymore." Her lips were pressed in a thin line as she looked at the hay covered floor.

Isaiah returned Midas to his own hold while he addressed.Lorelei. "You have my word as a knight, milady." With Midas now dealt with he turned to face the princess and the sight of her eased the worry he was feeling, He held his wrist out with her ribbon tied out on it. "Perhaps I should give this back?" He couldn't help but think of what he said earlier, she did indeed look like she came from a battle. "If your sister-in-law doesn't kill me for bringing you back like this, your maids surely will."

Lorelai smiled, laughing a bit. She held his wrists in her hands and shook her head. "No. Keep it. It's a token for a champion after all." She said as she stroked the ribbon with her thumb. "The maids won't kill you. Though you may find your cleaning has gone undone for a week." She said with a grin as she soothed her hair so it at least wasn't flying away and swatted the debris from her skirts.

Flair got shivers from the shift in the kingdom it was really scary but she waited fordragomir to tell her something, probably the same line her mother used with her 'Foolish girl, you'll go to hell with that tounge" her arms crossed and she bit her lower lip wondering what the old wizard would do or say to her, she hopped he wouldn't beat her... But then again she wouldn't mind getting toasty

Another pulse comes from the graveyard. This time it's a bit stronger, and is actually felt like a weak shockwave. It was strong enough to possibly tip something on a precarious balance.

Galen felt the second shockwave hit him. This wasn't good... He had to get there before the ninth wave hit. Each wave would get progressively worse, but the ninth would destroy the entire kingdom if he failed to stop it... It seemed to be coming from the other side of town... the graveyard. He cursed himself for not realizing sooner what that man's body truly was... a gateway to the realm of the dead.

"There's a punishment I wouldn't be able to handle. If I was any good with a broom I wouldn't be a knight." Isaiah joked before another slightly larger shockwave came, knocking Midas' saddle off the hook he had placed it on. "I must go find the queen or the wizard she was speaking with and find out whats going on." He made his out of the stables and looked back at the princess, "Be careful milady" He bowed and walked back to the castle.

"Alright, take them out."
"What the-"
"Good. Any loot?"
"Nothing except their weapons and armor, chief."
"Alright, move out. The visitor is ransacking a wizard's room, if I heard his signals correctly. He'll be with us in a second. Where's the tinderbox?"
"Right here, sir."
"Alright, torch the gates."
"RAISE THE ALAR-"
"Move! Quickly! Loot all you can and burn the rest!"
"Archers, sir!"
"Get behind cover - oh, good. Hello, visitor. You took your time."
"Cut it. I got some loot. Bound to be more."
"What's that bottle?"
"I honestly don't know. I'll get it to Zalam after we trash this joint."
"My man. Alright! Scale the battlements and move!"
"Torch everything you can't carry!"
"Take them out!"

Eri smiled to himself. The plan was going better than expected. The guard was completely taken by surprise - half of the ones posted to the main gate fell before they even knew what was happening. Of course, no one expected intruders to come by the main gate. Suddenly, he felt the ripple of the arcane pulse through him. He could feel it, as he had practiced with mundane yet deadly magic cantrips in the past. Something was up. As he oversaw his lovely men looting the royal castle to high heaven, he turned his thoughts to how to take out the wizard.

Isaiah was on his way back to the castle when he heard the commotion at the front gates and the alarm sounded. Like a bat out of hell he ran in the direction like a madman, his blood practically on fie at the prospect that they were under attack. While he ran he was joined many of the guards also rushing to the gate.

"Sir!" He looked at the guards as he continued to run worried about leaving the castle undefended.

"You three." He said pointing the right flank of guards. "Find the Queen and keep her safe!" He pointed to the left flank. "You four, find and protect the princess she was just in the stables, and she might be close by." He yelled to all them to show the urgency and consequences of their duties." If any harm comes to either of them, I swear to you I will strike you down myself are we clear?"

The men nodded and trembled slightly at the seriousness in his tone and went off to their assigned task. The last two guards looked to him. "Are we to fight off all the intruders ourselves Sir?"

"No. I'm going to fight them off myself, while you two work on putting out that fire until more reinforcements show up."

"But Sir-?"

"Do as I say! I will fight and die for this family and this castle if that is what fate decides, now go!" The guards left to get some water to start fighting the fire as Isaiah neared the gate where the thieves were getting in. He drew both of his swords and yelled up at them. "I will give you three choices! Surrender and face execution or lifetime imprisonment depending on the nature of your crime, slit your own throat right now and enjoy a quick and painless death, or face me and die bloody and screaming!!"

Lorelai laughed at Isiah but then another tremor shook the and she wobbled a bit. Her brow furrowed with worry and she could tell that the knight sensed it as well. Soon he was gone. Just as she was preparing to leave the barn, knights ran up to her, obviously scared by her appearance. After reassuring her that she was okay the knights practically dragged her into the castle.
"Wait! What's going on? What's happening?" She asked as they took her to the drawing room which was at the backmost part of the castle. From the window Lorelai could only see the forest where she had been only moments before.
