About the prison: Is it based on solitary cells, group cells or simply a communal pit thing for everyone? We're guessing at one of the two former, as that would be easier to work with, wethinks.

EDIT: Is Assallya even planning on joining? Seeing as there's been no CS linked or all that much post activity in here from her(?)... We've been in RPs with people who promised CSs before without delivering, so we're maybe a bit jaded on that front.

They did indeed pm me their character sheet. Things were hectic on their end. Supposedly, things cleared up, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Still, I don't want to move on too much without an opening post from everyone. If there's no post before the end of the night, I'll move the story along to keep some daily progress going rather than bring the game to a halt.

there's one thing we're curious about... what timezone ranges are people in? It can get confusing when people speak of "night" or "tonight" or such when one doesn't have any idea of roughly when that is. Doesn't really matter exactly what zone it is, so long as one gets a rough idea.

We're in one of the European timezones.

On Assalya's post: A difficulty of 17 on a perception roll for a strong emotion seems a bit odd, but we guess there's a hefty bonus from stealth to explain why something that ought to be apparent normally isn't? We got a three on that roll, so Citlali certainly did not notice in any case. (4-1, technically)

Made that perception check, Omega. Got an 8, so probably didn't notice anything major.
EDIT: Misunderstood that question as a request. Ignore that last roll.

Hmmm.... I hadn't considered players making checking against my Bluff skill. I more meant hiding the fear from the NPC prisoner sorts. Most of my players generally just decided if they notice or not no matter what they rolled :) Mind you, I think I was the only one in our group that casually walked into a trap because I deemed my character wouldn't know about it. They thought I was crazy. Clearly our players here are better than those at my old table.

As for TN, that's used in several other systems. It refers to "Target Number" and yes, is identical to "Difficulty Class". I often use terms interchangeably from other systems. Sorry about that.

Well, I rolled perception on every single party member to see if I could learn anything as well as a perception and sense motive on the warden. I try to avoid OOC knowledge and go exclusively with what my character would know.

Ellri, the reason sensing such strong emotions is difficult is that Assallya is deliberately hiding them.

However, Assallya would be rolling Bluff to hide her emotions and we'd be rolling Sense Motive to notice. We'd only be rolling perception if she somehow completely hid herself from view and only a keen eye could tell she was there.

Ah, that helps to know. The attributes on Citlali are the same negative 1 bonus for both Perception and Sense Motive. Probably explains partially how she got caught.

Sure, do you have anything particular in mind? It might be a bit difficult as we are likely to be herded into our cells now. It may be easier during the night or next morning during like breakfast.

Talking with the DM in IRC he said 2 people in a cell based on posting order. During breakfast if possible i can begin assembling the group since I will have an in with each cell. I saw Ellri with her lockpicks so I can just let her know about that to start getting her to talk to me. Gecko, you just got beat upside the head and may want medical attention. Plus you showed a willingness to go toe to toe with the warden which means you have potential. You will likely be watched closely now which means I can use you to keep heat off me while I assemble the group necessary to break us out.

I was mainly thinking you would provide the part where Valaeris tries to warn her, then I finish up with taking the blow and writing how my character starts moving along, having made her statement.

Ah, not sure how much warning I would actually try to give seeing as it happened really fast and doing something too overt would get myself pegged on the watch list. There is also not a whole lot to collab there and I also need to include my character's assessment of Assalya and like some forethoughts on developments with Ellri.
