@Legend@whizzball1

*many of them are decent size, twelve of them are massive*

Shinji:I suppose that cluster there are the most recent ones?

They seem to be.

Why is that?

Ruby?

The Mindscape all depends on how you see a brain. When I think of visualising pain, the first thing I think of is Red-Hots, for some reason, so pain receptors manifested similarly for me.

But we don't know how to make it do the same things the Holy Sword did.

But... it's a machine. It's not built the same way the Holy Sword was.

I was eating them a couple days before I first used the Mindscape, okay? They're not even hot, but they're red and called "hot", so I thought of them.

Is the way it's built what makes the Holy Sword what it was? David says he built it in exactly the same way, just bigger and as a machine.

Data and I will find a connection between a pain receptor and one of the words you mentioned. These big ones in the centre look promising. The more we find, the better.

Why did that become the permanent definition of pain?

We'd like to know about the Holy Sword itself, though.

1) It's not like Red Hots are actually the definition, and 2) this is useful.

It was imbued with several qualities from each of us that made it the ultimate weapon. It could cut virtually anything, was nearly indestructible, responded to the will of the user, protected the user, etc.

In the Mindscape, the pain receptors are Red Hots. They are defined as such.
